Keboard Volume Stuck

Am using an iMac with Lion and today for some unknown reason the volume control on the keyboard became stuck on high.  I have rebooted several times and even unplugged the keyboard but nothing seems to help.  Even with the keyboard unplugged the volume icon is displayed on the screen and shows it at the highest level.
Thanks for you help

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one at no cost if the iPod has not been abused. They do not fix yours.

  • Volume stucks of Nokia Music Songs

When i download songs from nokia music application, Volume stucks when i try to play it in Music + video in My Lumia 920.
    This Becomes really annoying.

    Hi HiteshTyagi,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
We'd love to help you with your concern. Just to verify your issue, when you say that the volume stucks, does it mean you're not able to adjust it while playing music? Is it only happening with music? How about with calls or Youtube videos?
If the problem is only happening with the songs downloaded from the Nokia Music, try removing and re-downloading the songs from the app. You may also try pressing and holding the power and volume down keys at the same time for 10-15 seconds. The phone should vibrate and reboot, but it will not delete any files saved in your phone.
We also recommend checking for available updates for the phone software. Go to Settings, and then Phone Update, and the select Check for updates.
    Hope this information helps.
    Cheers!

  • [SOLVED] VLC no audio, Volume stuck at 0%-5% only when playing FLV

    Hello Friends,
I've had this issue for a while, only on one laptop (I run Arch on everything)... VLC will play my .FLV files, video works, playback works but no sound. The volume gets stuck and can only be changed by 5% (If VLC was running before and volume was at 60% I can change to 65 and back to 60. If VLC was closed and I open a FLV file it is always at 0% volume and will only go up to 5%).
I get the following error every time I try to adjust the volume.. Other file-types work fine.
    [tkh@tk6410 ~]$ vlc

    Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I have concluded that this must've been the FLV files itself. They were downloaded using FireFox plugin VideoDownloadHelper

No idea... never play flv directly.  https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/auto-reencode

  • Odd volume stuck issue.

Alrighty I've had my iPhone 4 in the UK for around a week now and all in all I have no real issues with signal nor battery life (apart from that skype uses more than it did on my 3G). My only problems were getting o2 to activate it, the proximity sensor (I hang up on everyone) and a strange volume issue. Well my phone is now active and I know apple are looking to fix the proximity sensor in an update to the OS.
My problem is a strange combination of when using the iPod app watching YouTube/online video and making voice calls normally and on skype in some order the volume for everything gets stuck at maximum and stays there. The volume buttons show the volume graphic and I move it up and down with no affect on the actual volume. In videos and iPod I can slide the volume control again no affect on the volume, so then I restart the phone and voilà back to normal. Thing is now I'm having to restart it once or twice a day due to this issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and has there been anything from apple on this? I couldn't find anything and to my mind I can see it being nothing other than a software issue because of the series of events needed to cause the issue.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
Yes, I do have same problem, as mentioned in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2541233&tstart=0. My volume does not get stuck at max but somewhere in the middle. Everything else is the same, it looks like it works but it don't change volume, although slider on screen goes up and down. After phone restart, everything goes back to normal. I also have 16 gb model iPhone4.

  • Output Volume Stuck

    Hello
I have not updated or changed any settings on my PowerBook, but the output volume seems to be stuck. I can not hear anything, not even start up chime. The volume icons when pressed on the key board show a circle with a slash through it. I have gone into system preferences and attempted to check there, but I can not move the slider bar for the out put volume, nor can I select the mute or unmute. How do I fix this? please help!
    Thank you,
    Rebecca

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Sometimes the volume setting gets jumbled, and resetting the PRAM will fix it. Follow these steps:
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.

  • Volume stuck in Creative Muvo v

Bought my Creative Muvo v00 2GB today. Looks like the volume is stuck at "6" level. I turned off the volume restriction however I still cannot increase the volume. I can decrease the volume while playing. Is this a product defect? I feel pissed and plan to return this product to the store. Any ideas?

I have the Nano Plus. Imo the sound quality is probably the same for both. The V00 has much slower file tranfer to and from the pc than the Nano Plus. Both should? get the same battery life. The Nano Plus has FM radio while the V00 has no radio. The Nano Plus was made with 52 meg or a gig of storage, while the V00 has a gig or 2 gigs of storage.

  • TS3274 Volume stuck in headphone mode

My iPad 3 is stuck on headphone volume. I have tried rebooting and it is still stuck. I was playing a game put the iPad down and the volume changed when I restarted the game.

Today my sons ipad came up with the same message. Found out the headphone jack had gotten wet, after trying to dry it out, I finally decided to take a cutip and pull some of the cotton off of it and put it down in the headphone jack. I to do this a couple of times to get it all out and dry, but as soon as it was dry the sound came back on immediately.  Putting a pair of head phones in the jack was not helping, when I realized it was damp that was when I decided to try the cutips and it worked like a charm. Just make sure and twist it some in the headphone jack in one direction and change it every few turns. Hope this helps.

  • Volume stuck suddenly..Won't adjust..

I've been using my iTouch 1G for a year or so and it's worked flawlessly. Then today I went to use it and it's stuck on a loud volume. I tried adjusting the volume slider, but when it moves, the volume stays the same level. It won't adjust at all! I'm not sure what caused it but I might try restoring to see if that fixes it.
    Any idea's?

I was listening to my IPod one day and wondered if the volume button on the side would adjust the volume while listening or if it was just to increase volume when earphones weren't attatched. After adjusting the volume with with the button on the side the slider would no long increase/decrease volume. On a whim I powered off completely and then turned it back on. It apparently reset and the slider worked ok. Hope this works for you before trying a reset. I guess it's the old adage...when all else fails...reboot.

  • My volume button is broken and volume stuck on zero.  how can i fix?, my volume button is broken and volume stuck on zero.  how can i fix?

help! i have an ipad nano gen6, which works perfectly except that the down volume button is permanently stuck on down and won't come up. so i can't listen to anything - every time i turn the volume up it just goes immediately back down.  Is there a way to turn off the down button, which would be a clunky but workable soluteion? or am i stuck with having to take it to hte apple store - if so any know how much they are likely to charge for this - from a quick net search it seems this is a common problem and a bit of a design fllaw so i'm not keen to pay apple to fix a problem that seems to be their fault!
    Thanks
    Jamie

  • Having the top( ) Volume stuck in the press down position would that effect the phone ringer not to work.

My ringer was working fine from one day to another it stopped working, looking at the phone I looked at all the setting , the little switch on top was not showing the line, but I did notice the top volume button was stuck in the down position. Would this effect the ringer not to work. I can listen to videos, music and streaming videos on the internet without any issues. What you think

    *UPDATE*
I have been able to use the Zoom function to zoom in and the keys on the top row no longer are in the non-responsive strip of area.

  • Mac Pro (Late 2006) all volumes stuck on mute and I can't change it.

I have a late 2006 Mac Pro 3Ghz dual. Recently the volume dropped down to nothing and when I access the control panel, I see the mute button checked on all outputs except the digital (the one I have never used). All inputs are also muted and I cannot uncheck any of them. The little volume indicator is sitting in the lower middle of my screen and won't go away.
    I have tried:
    Zapping PRAM
    repairing permissions
    trashing the sound pref
    reseting the SMC
    using a different account
    multiple restarts and shut downs
unplugged and re-plugged both the headphones and line out
....and none of it has worked. The sound indicator shows up with the first startup screen and never goes away...and I have no sound. If I drag the volume slider up, it just goes back down. Very frustrating.
Ohh and there is nothing resting on a keyboard button. I have even unplugged the keyboard and had no change.
I am guessing this is a failing motherboard, being that I have lost my "A" RAM slot, but I really hope not. This is going to be unbearable to live with.
Does anyone here have any other ideas? I have thrown in the towel (which I rarely do).
    Thanks!
hey, at least the comp cannot hear the profanities directed it's way.

OK, so yesterday, just out of the blue while I was typing an email, the sound started working again. The screen indicator disappeared and I could raise the volume again....woot!
So, I followed your advice and installed the combo updater, the sound stayed working. Thought I had it nailed.
Then, this morning, I woke it from sleep and 30 seconds later, the sound dropped out and the issue returned. So, back to square one, no clue what caused it to self-fix and no clue why it relapsed.
    grrrrrrrrr

  • IPad 2 volume stuck!

The volume on my iPad 2 can only be set to full volume or mute. The speaker icon is always displayed unless I am working on the "sound" settings.  In addition to ensuring that my volume isn't on "mute" in the settings, I have reset the settings and now restored the iPad. I'm relatively tech-savvy, but I'm stumped. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Try the following:
    1. Reset
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo
    2. Restore:

    3. Make sure your casing or sleeve is not causing the problem.
