Keep cookies and data of favorites

How do I keep cookies and data of favorite sites in Safari browser on Yosemite iOS after clearing history?

When you clear history, it should not delete those items. I have my preferences set to clear history after one day 9other options are available).
I do not clear history using the drop-down bar.

  • Should i "Remove All Website Data" as well as clear Cookies and Data off my iPad

Should I "Remove All Website Data" as well as Clear Cookies and data?

    Not for normal everyday use.
Would you have a specific reason to do so?  If not, don't bother.

  • My ipad will open in an internet page sometimes and sometimes it won't I have cleared history and cookies and data have also closed wifi and renewed license it feels like a virus but they aren't suppose to get them so what is going on?

My ipad will open in an internet page sometimes and sometimes it won't I have cleared data cookies and history also I have closed out wifi and reinstalled it then renewed the license nothing is working everything was fine until I downloaded an app that's why I thought it was a virus I deleted the app but it is still doing this
What do you think it is or do you have any suggestions

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

Make sure you have the latest iTunes version installed and hopefully you have the most recent backup of your iPhone.  Do a DFU restore.  While it's plugged in to your computer, press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons together until the screen is off.  When the screen's off, release only the Sleep/Wake button and keep holding down the Home button.  Wait until you see in iTunes on your computer to show that it detected it in recovery mode.  When it does, proceed with the restore.  It will be restored and updated to the latest iOS 7.0.2.  If you have a backup, restore from that backup once iOS 7.0.2 is successfully installed on your iPhone.
If your iPhone still won't activate, I agree with gail, you will have to get in touch with that developer.

  • Changing from old account to new account but want to keep apps and data.

Is it possible to sync my data from my iPod to the same iPod but using a different account.
For example, account number 1 has my current data; I now have account number 2. I want to switch my apps and related data to the same iPod under the new account name. How can I make the switch?

I have a similiar issue but with a slight difference. My account originally was an AOL account and I had a few songs purchased under that account but since have switched to an apple account. Since then I have upgraded from a "mini" to a 3rd gen iTouch and also have several computers authorized. My issue is that I have "lost" 31 songs when I synch my iTouch to iTunes (the original songs purchased on the AOL account). When I synch I get an error message that I am "not authorized to them on this computer, and to authorize the computer...". This computer is authorized. Help!

  • Are iPad Safari's Cookies And Website Data The Same Thing?

Are they the same, and do they collect indefinitely until you manually clear them?

    Sheden-
It is not clear if they are the same thing, but I do not believe so.  There are two places to manually delete Data:
    1.  Settings - Safari - Clear Cookies and Data
    2.  Settings - Safari - Advanced - Website Data - Remove All Website Data
I tried clearing Cookies and Data, and the data previously listed under "Website Data" went away.  When I tried just "Remove All Website Data", it went away again.  I can not tell if Cookies also went away since I do not know how to examine them.
After clearing the website data, images on a facebook page had to reload when I revisited it.  Normally they come up immediately.  I know the images are definitely not "Cookies"!
As far as I kinow, website data collects indefinitely.  I suggest you search the web for information about Cookies, to see if they have a limited lifetime.

  • Iphone 5 wont keep correct time and date

Any one else have the 5 through Verizon? It wont keep time and date correctly. Verizon keeps telling me it's Apple's problem, Apple tells me it's Verizons! Getting the Royal runaround! About to throw it in the lake!

  • How to clear cookies and cache?

  • I have 646 websites that have stored cookies and other data on my computer. How necessary is it to keep these stored files?  My thought is to delete them.  Input?

    Good Morning,
I have 646 websites that have stored "cookies and other data" on my comupter.  How necessary is it to keep these??  My thought is to delete them.  Any advice?

I have never encountered a site to which I couldn't log in again after trashing its cookie(s). If you use Firefox (Preferences), you can list exceptions of cookies you don't want removed (e.g., for startpage and duckduck searching, I keep startpage and duckduck cookies in order to keep those search settings) and those you never want to accept (I have all Google cookies blocked. Doesn't keep me from using Google search, images or maps, but if you belong to a Google group or run some  kind of Google program, that may be a problem.) Safari probably has some cookie manager extension available for that also.
If you use Firefox, NoScript will effectively block all google tracking that occurs on mousedown.
In your browser>Preferences, make sure you don't allow third party sites to store cookies.
What's even more worrisome than ordinary cookies, are Flash cookies ("Local Shared Objects"), which are persistent cookies, including the "evercookie." They aren't stored in the browser.
With Firefox, you can deal with this by using the Better Privacy Add-on, or see this post of mine, as modified by Kurt Lang.

    Not sure how often

You should always use beta test versions with a new and separate profile and keep the regular release so you can use that version in case of problems.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
Firefox 4.0b1 is the first of the beta test release versions and still has a lot of bugs.
Such releases are meant for testing only so if bugs are found then they can get reported and fixed before the final 4.0 version gets released.
If you do not have experience with such test releases then you are better of with the latest Firefox 3.6.6 release.

  • How do I get rid of 97] in Cookies and other website data

When I open Preferences/Privacy and select "Details" under "Cookies and other website data" the first entry which pops up is
                 97] plug-ins
If I highlight this entry and click remove, It is removed for perhaps 10 seconds, and then re-appears in the list.
    1- What is this?
2- How do I get rid of it?
This is clearly a prvacy issue, or Apple would not be listing it in this listing with the associated warning.

Log out, then log back in while holding down the shift key after you enter your login password. Keep holding until the desktop appears. That will prevent third-party add-ons from loading. Try again to delete that item.
If you still can't delete it, and you still want to, proceed as follows.
Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now. If you skip this step, no one but you will be responsible for the consequences.
    Quit Safari if it’s running.
    Step 1
Select /Applications/Safari in the Finder and open the Info window. There’s a checkbox in that window labeled “Open in 32-bit mode.” If that box is checked, uncheck it. Close the window.
Hold down the option key and select Go > Library from the Finder menu bar (Lion) or open the Library subfolder of your home folder (pre-Lion). Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Caches/Metadata/Safari
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
Leave the Finder window open. Try Safari again.
    Step 2
If it still doesn’t work right, quit, go back to the Finder, and move the following file to the Desktop:
    Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Then delete the following items (some may not exist):
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Cookies/Cookies.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
    PubSub/Database
    Safari
Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. Select File > Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the old bookmarks file.
Note: This step will remove your Safari Extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to restore them, do so one at a time, testing after each to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.
If you don’t like the results of step 2, you can undo it completely by quitting Safari and restoring the items you deleted in that step from your backup, overwriting any that were created in their place. You don’t need to restore the files you deleted in step 1.
Ok... completed step1 with no change.
went on to "part of "step 2...
I kept the Bookmarks.plist, but then deleted the assortment of safari related Caches and Cookies
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Cookies/Cookies.plist
(I found several entries in Cache, but forgot to write down which ones I deleted ... sorry.)
did not delete any of the preferences or the last two entries in your list above.
Tried again and "the perp" was still there. "Remove all" on the Details tab did not change things...
However, there were now only 2 entries -- the 97] AND my bank's entry (Chase)!
Going back to the main privacy tab and clicking "Remove all Website Data" this time DID remove the last two entries.
    =====
Now when I open the details tab, (I run my own webserver as my home page) Safari showed ONLY the cache entry for my server, no cookies.
However, I then noticed something quite intersting.
I left the details tab open and pulled to the side (the joy of having a 27 inch iMac) and naviaged to Apple.com
and then to support and then logged in to here.
As I was doing this. the Details window first showed, "Apple.com" .. Cache, Cookies, Local Storage
but then virtually immediately poped up entries:
    doubleclick.net ... Cache
    edgekey.net ... Cache
    google.com ... Cookies
Very interesting, both from the point of view that "details" was showing me what was happening in "real time."
And the fact that, even with zero external ads, the web site, Apple.com, was inserting entries in the cache for doubleclick.net and edgekey.net. I can "almost" understand the "google.com" cookie, ecept for the fact that the search engine selected in the tool bar is "bing."... as I said "interesting."
With this new "insight" on the Details screen, It may be possible to determine WHERE this 97] actually came from. However, I would still like an explanation of what it actually is.... since the "]" (right square bracket) character is evidently a "special character" for search engines -- google, Yaho and Bing all treat it the same way -- they ignor it.... even when the entire 3 character string is quoted -- "97]" -- the pages returned all are for entries with only 97 in them.

  • What's the difference between keep cookies until I close firefox and clear cookie history when firefox closes?

In the settings for Firefox 33.0 (I am using Ubuntu 14.04 but the functionality is the same for Windows 7) there are two different ways to delete cookies when firefox closes. Or at least there seems to be.
First is the keep cookies until firefox closes
Second is to check the box to clear history when firefox closes and in the settings check cookies.
What is the difference between these two options?
I usually have both setup but I was noticing that a login was not saving for td canada trust easyweb, even though I have an exception set for it. Now I unchecked to delete cookies when clearing the history on close and the login saves correctly.
This login saves 7 cookes under easyweb.td.com and 10 cookies under td.com and I have exceptions set for both. If I clear history on close and include cookies, half of the td.com cookies are gone when I close firefox and re-open. The same is true if I don't set the exception.
So currently I cannot figure out a way to keep all the cookies if I clear cookie history when firefox closes. What is the difference when this is enabled?

Let all cookies expire when Firefox is closed to make them session cookies.
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Keep until: "I close Firefox"
Create a cookie 'allow' exception for cookies that you would like to keep.
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
