Keep getting error regarding proxy server. Try to reset to no proxy and it won't reset to "no proxy"

I cannot get on a website using Mozilla. I cleared my history the other day and since then I can't get on Mozilla. I called my internet provider and had to reset the proxy for Google Chrome and Internet Explorer and they reset but I try to reset to no proxy and it resets to manual proxy and I uninstalled and restalled Mozilla but it still won't work. Not sure what else to do.

    OK, you turned off your filewall, but did you disable Norton Internet Security completely? For some issues just disabling the firewall is not enough. I once had a connection problem with Gracenote that went away when NIS was disabled, but turning off every element of NIS individually and together did not work.
    Some people have found adding the following to trusted domains helped:

    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net

    Occasionally flushing the DNS Resolver cache helps:

    Are you able to connect to the store normally with just downloading affected, or is there a general store connection problem?

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
