I have the iphone4, I keep getting mailer daemon messages, returning emails that won't go through that I didn't send. I change my email password incase I was hacked, but I'm still getting failed emails that I didn't send. Is it a virus? What do I do?

  • I need to forward some photos and I keep getting this message " the email server didn't recognize your user name or password.

In trying to forward some photos, I keep getting the message:
The email server didn't recognize your user name
    and password.

First go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account that's there.  Close iPhoto, reopen and add your email account to the Accounts preference pane and try again.
Next, and IMO the better solution, set Mail are the email client for iPhoto in iPhoto's General preference pane:
This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy and, if you need a layout like iPhoto gives you, similar layouts in iPhoto's stationary option.

  • HT5624 Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up.  Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID.  If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.

  • I keep getting mail from Apple about validating my account and now I need to sanitize my email. Is this a hoax as they want my credit card details

I have been receiving email supposedly from apple asking me to validate my account. I ignored as I thought they were a hoax as they wanted me to verify my CC details. Now I'm getting mail saying I'm transmitting virsus mitting viruses and I need to verify my credit card details.??  Is this real or hoax as it also saying if I don't it will lead to permanent deactivation immediately. HELP

It is absolutely a fake. Do not, I repeat do not, respond to these emails in any way. You can report them to Apple if you wish:
    [email protected]
but there's little or nothing they can do about such scams so it's probably not worth the effort and you can just delete the fakes.
    Regards.

  • Mail.app pops up saying "Cannot get mail" but the emails are downloaded normally....

mail.app pops up saying "Cannot get mail: The user name or password for "iCloud" is incorrect", that is not true because i can log in on iCloud.com with the same credentials setted in mail.app. But the strange thing is that i can get the email! Let me explain: mail.app download the emails normally but when it check for incoming mail and there are no one, the alert pops up.
This is not a critical issues, i can get the emails anyway, but that alert is really annoying.
I've alredy changed the password of my appleID to a new one, but nothing changed.
Has anyone had the same problem and managed to solve it?

Do you have 2 step verification set for Gmail?

  • Keep getting a reset password email?

Not sure if iCloud is the right catagory for my question, please excuss if not.  I keep getting emails such as the one I am posting below:
    "Dear Jeff
To reset your Apple ID password, simply click the link below. That will take you to a web page where you can create a new password.
Please note that the link will expire three hours after this email was sent.
    Reset your Apple ID password"
The concern is that I keep getting them as if someone is continually trying to quess my password not a sigular event.  Should I be concerned and are there steps I need to take to futher protect myself?  I do feel my current password is fairly strong (knock on wood)
Any insights or advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,  Jeff

I have been receiving these messages for months. They will arrive in groups. I will get 3 or 4 of them in a day or two. Then a week will pass and then I receive more of them. Most of the reset messages will have a time stamp of early morning ( 0100 to 0600 hours) but I receive them with later time stamps as well. I have many Apple ID accounts and only this one account gets this message. FYI the account I use for the message board is not receiving the reset messages. I will tell you that the Apple ID receiving the reset messages has an email account from Verizon associated with it. My other Apple ID's have email accounts from: yahoo, me, mac, iCloud, and netscape assigned to them and they have not received the message.  I am not worried that someone will reset my account since the request will always be sent to me. I do think someone or a hacker program is tripping the request for a password reset. Well that is my two cents, anyways.

  • Cannot get mail for single email account only

    Hi everyone.
I have three email accounts on my iphone 4s(1 gmail, two hotmail).
I get the 'Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the sever failed' message when I acess one of my hotmail accounts.
I do not get this message when I access the gmail and other hotmail accounts. My other accounts push and recieve email normally.
I noticed this problem since yesterday.
    I have:
turned my phone on and off
    reset my iphone
deleted and re-added the hotmail account to my phone
    and nothing has helped.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
    Thanks

I've been having the exact same problem with one of my hotmail accounts on my iPhone 4.  Actually my @hotmail email is working, but my @live is not.
I've tried the solutions you've listed as well with no resolve.
This happened suddenly after a year of working just fine.
Anybody have some ideas?  Since the other emails are working would it be logical that it's with the email server and not the phone?
    Thanks!

  • I keep getting "Mail Not Responding" and have to force quit

I can't even get to "Mail Doctor" because the spinning beachball starts up instantly.  I have to force quit to get it to stop.  Mail is working on all my other eight devices but not my primary iMac.  What the heck?

What OS version are you running? If 10.8/9 try the below.
    Do a backup.
    Quit Mail.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

  • Keep Mac Mail from Deleting Emails On Server

I have 2 Yahoo! acc'ts linked to Mac Mail.
On the first acc't, after all my emails downloaded, I then deleted all the emails in Mac Mail (didn't need them). When I logged back into my acc't in Yahoo! (on browser), I saw that, there too, all my emails had been deleted.
I need to keep this from happening in my 2nd acc't. How can I delete the emails within Mac Mail, WITHOUT deleting the emails from the server?
    I'm using Mac Yosemite 10.10.1.

    Hi
You will have to look at a POP3 account that leaves the mail on the server.
I have not seen a setting in active sync that stop mail from being deleted. If you make a change on your phone it will update the mailbox.
Mails will be in the deleted items. How are users "accidently" deleting mail when you actually have to press the delete/trash button?

  • Keep getting "Failed to send email" "Server error" on outgoing emails from phone

I think this might have to do with blocking of port 25
    How do I fix this?

I can understand how frustrating it is to receive errors when trying to check your email kriley1925. Emails are very important to me and I understand how it is needed for contact with friends and family. Let's work on getting this fixed immediately. What phone do you have? What email accounts are you using? Which email account are you having the issue with? Have you check the incoming and outgoing service settings? Have you had any other issues with your device or email? Please keep us posted and I look forward to hearing from you. ^KH

  • I am trying to change or add the email address which is attached to my itunes account. I keep getting a notice saying email address is already verified for another Apple ID. Im sure its one of my devices. How can I get my current email address added?

My itunes account is attached to an email account that I no longer have and cannot retrieve. I have been having trouble with purchases made to my itunes account and want to view my purchases. The support center said that they would email me the purchase history. However, I don't have that email address. When I go to change my email address to my current one, I get a message in red saying that "the email address is already verified for another Apple I.D." I'm sure it is one of my devices as we have 4 ipods and 2 iphones. How can I get my account to use my current email address? If one of my devices was registered using my current email address as it apparently was, do I need to figure out which device that is and remove the email address from that account? I'm so confused. I just want ALL my devices to use my current email address. I need to replace the old email address with my current one. How do I do that?
    thanks for any assistance.

Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.
