After several installations of Adobe Flash the error message continues.

  • Keep getting message from sites that Adobe Flash Player needs to be installed

I have a MacBook, OSX 10.7.5.  When I try to download a document, I am told that I need Adobe Flash Player and that I should download it.
When I look on the Adobe website, to check something, I see that the newest version of Flash Player is installed on my computer.  As a second choice, I was given, I could download Adobe Air, but that didn't work either.
I have no idea what I need to do to be able to get this information downloaded.
I'm not sure if this is the correct community of whom to ask this question.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Can't Launch Illustrator CS6 on my Mac and keep getting message to install Java SE 6

When I try to launch Illustrator on my Mac, it asks me to install legacy Java SE 6 every time. Even after installing Java SE 6, it still doesn't open up and keep asking me to install legacy Java SE6. How can I get Illustrator to open without this message?

i got stuck trying to understand the nuts & bolts of this post too but the answer is here on post #7 link in creating the two folders manually or by the Terminal routines
i put screenshots on my thread of the column views Pls just tell me how - CS6 Yosemite Java
as post #9 said, i am pretty sure you just manually create the new folders in the locations, give them the suggested names, and the OS will do the rest but i did mine through Terminal...
as a final redundant note, u probably don't want to install the legacy JAVA 6 on the Apple link because it's old, go to https://www.java.com/en/download/mac_download.jsp?locale=en  and install the latest version of JAVA (and be sure to update it in the future in case apple/adobe software updates don't find it for u)

  • Keep getting message to install iTunes

I keep getting the screen that I need to install iTunes, but I have installed it.  What do I need to do?

    Hi, diesel vdub,
Thank you for responding to my question!
In an email I received, I was given a download code for a particular movie.  The email says that I have to access the movie from that particular email.  When I click on that code, I am directed to an iTunes' webpage.  On that webpage, it says that I have to download iTunes first.  http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/
I downloaded iTunes.  I went back to the email I received and clicked on the movie code.  It continued to take me to the webpage that says I have to download iTunes first.  Thinking that I had to access the movie through that original email I received (because that's what the email said), I continued to click on the code and in turn kept being directed to iTunes' web page where it said I had to download the program first. SO frustrating.
I finally gave up, copied the code and went in search of some place on iTunes' website that would allow me to paste the code.  And that's how I finally circumvented the command that I had to download iTunes first.
I'm not sure what version I installed, but it's the latest version available.  I just downloaded iTunes to that particular computer yesterday, January 7, 2014.
Oh, and I finally found somewhere that said I had to 'authenticate' my computer, which I did.  But from that original email, I was still directed to iTunes' home page that said I had to download iTunes first.  I haven't tried it again since circumventing the original email, so I'm not sure if it will do it again.  I'm not at that particular computer right now, so I can't try again on that computer until later.
Sigh.  Can you tell I'm technologically challenged?
Thank you for your response.  I appreciate it.

  • Why do i keep getting 'out of date' warnings for Flash Player?

Yesterday I got a message on my Mac that my Flash Player was out of date, so I installed a new version, 12. Today I got the same warning, saying my version was old and was blocked, so I reinstalled it. Same thing keeps happening. I went to the Security settings in Preferences and it says this: "The version of 'Adobe Flash Player' on your computer has known critical security issues. Only websites set to 'Allow Always' are allowed to run this plug-in. To protect your system, use of this plug-in is now blocked for all other websites."
Can someone tell me what's going on with this? Thanks.

Download the FULL offline installer Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
Then follow the illustrated instructions here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1343084

  • Keep getting redirected to a fake Adobe Flash Player site?

Every single time I open a link or even a new tab, I keep getting redirected to this page that tells me to update my Adobe Flash Player. It is a fake page. I accidentally downloaded it, not realizing what it was at first, and it put a bunch of crap on my computer, that I ended up having to do a system restore in order to get rid of everything.
What do I need to do, what can I do in order to keep this from happening? It's incredibly annoying. It doesn't appear to be an extension or anything of that sort. A redirect virus, maybe. But I don't know what to do to get rid of it.

Three posts and the unrelated fbi link, really Fred.

  • Keep getting messages in Facebook that my Adobe player is out of date.  Is this an Adobe problem or a Facebook problem?

I have tried to update Adobe player severl times.  Each time the install seems to work, but when I try to play a movie on Facebook I still obtain a message that Adobe Player is out of date???  Anyone have any ideas what is going on here???

I've seen a RASH of posts in the Adobe Flash Player forums since the 2/4/2014 update, especially with Snow Leopard.
I put together a PDF with detailed, illustrated instructions to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" and/or the "Out of date" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe, or on pages like Facebook.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf

but flash is up to date (shockwave flash 16.0.0.305) and set to always activate. it is a plug in and i have uninstalled flash and reinstalled it.
there is an earlier shockwave plug in (9.0.45.0 from 2007) with a red vulnerability warning next to it. ive tried to remove that but cant. however, that has been there with the warning message for years and this problem only started this week, seemingly at random

Your System Details list shows an old Flash 9.0 r45.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
*only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page

#'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

  • Keep getting "blocked plug-ins for Adobe Flash despite installing new version

Keep getting "blocked plug-ins for Adobe Flash despite installing new version

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US  which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’.

Thanks. Using IE go to Tools>Manage add ons and find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control..Flash10e.ocx and make sure it is enabled.
Do the same thing using FF and look in plug-ins for SWF vs 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is enabled.
I would also check a few other sites as it could be this is isolated to Facebook.
    Thanks,
