Keep getting prompt re: confirm/resend when paging back or forward in browser

On some web pages, I keep getting the following message when paging back or forward: To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier. Choice buttons are either Resend or Cancel. Any idea why I am getting this message? There is no help for it and I can't find it in the support search topics. Thanks.

Online merchants create a unique order number. Trying to resend it will generate an error message these days, not a duplicate (we're talking about the post confirmation part, not the click to finalize CC; if you went back in that case, you'd just go back to the CC info.) No modern website that's selling anything has any sort of issue with you resending POST data (correct me if i'm wrong).
This nag is so annoying that I completely uninstalled Firefox, not even waiting till I dl'd a replacement (doing that with IE, which for all its flaws, hackability and uncoolness, at least gets the job done without changing shortcuts -i'm looking at you there, Opera- or requiring add-ons before I can configure ANYthing I seem to want to configure (firefox, obviously)).
As for the workarounds? The browser.sessionstore.postdata about:config setting doesn't solve the problem. And I'm not installing a program to click boxes for me THAT SHOULD NOT BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Googling this issue, the complaints seem to go back to at least 2008! If you can't or won't listen to feedback for THREE years, you might as well team up with the people in Redmond.

I went to the apple trailers website to check out some trailers.    Every one I click on brings up a popup that shows me the quicktime logo and if I click it I am prompted to download/install quicktime.   I've installed, and reinstalled, quicktime a couple times now....still the same problem.
I'm using google chrome as a browser.
    Can anyone help me out?

  • How to stop getting prompted to "Confirm"

    Hello,
I have some Windows Server 2008 systems that I'm trying to run a powershell script on to delete some temp files, but I keep getting prompted with "Confirm... Y [Yes] [A] Yes to All...... ect"  Is there a way to bypass the Confirm?
    Thanks,
    Tom

This has probably already been answered but I was running into the same problem as you and couldn't find an answer.
Maybe if I post it here I will be able to find it the next time I run into it. :-)
I think this will work for you
    get-childitem C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles -include *.log  -recurse | where-object { $_.LastAccessTime -lt (Get-Date).AddDays(-14) -and $_.LastWriteTime -lt (Get-Date).AddDays(-14) } | remove-item -ErrorAction
    SilentlyContinue -Confirm:$false
replace *.log without ever wildcard you need.
    I was executing this
    get-childitem  -Recurse  c:\logs\ | where {$_.LastWriteTime -le $now.AddDays(-30)} | del -whatif
and getting the same as you
    Confirm
    The item at
Microsoft.Powershell.Core\FileSystem::C:\logs\blah has children and the Recurse parameter was not specified. If you continue, all children
will be removed with the item. Are you sure you want to continue?
    I replaced it with
    get-childitem  -Recurse  c:\logs\ -include *log*| where {$_.LastWriteTime -le $now.AddDays(-30)} | del -whatif
and like magic no more prompts.

  • Trying to make a purchase on itunes and keep getting prompted to verify account information, when I do that, it says to fix errors, then to contact apple support, any ideas or know how to fix this?

Trying to make a purchase on itunes and keep getting prompted to verify account information.  I've done this and when i click done, it says to fix errors; i repeat the process then it says to contact apple support.  Any ideas or other experiences with this?  I've had this happen before and it got resolved after i called them and it took a few days, not very convenient.  The same thing happened when I was just trying to update my account info with a new billing / account address.
    Thanks

You will need to do what it says, contact iTunes Support. These are user-to-user support forums, if you thought you were contacting Apple by posting here. Go here:

    to contact the iTunes Store.

When trying to download apps on my new iPad I keep getting prompted to update my security questions for my safety. When I choose this option it freezes and won't load the questions, however, when I hit not now it won't let me download. What do I do?

Reboot your iPad and then see if you can set the security questions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My computer is authorized to play purchases but for one of the songs I recently purchased I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer to play the song. How do I fix this?

I recently purchased a song on my iphone. When I synced my phone to my computer, I was prompted to authorize the computer to play the song, which I did. It did not compute and thus when I try to play the song in iTunes on my Macbook Pro, I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? I also cannot play the song now from my iPhone. I even tried re-downloading it from the iTunes store and that did not help.

That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Keep getting prompts re: iCloud does not recognize my address. Any ideas?

Recently the system would not recognized my apple ID/password, so I simply clicked on "forgot" and reset it.  Weird, but it happened.  Now everything works fine, except I keep getting prompts from Contacts, Mail and iCloud informing me that iCloud doesn't recognize my ID (email) or it just can't connect.  Wonder what this is all about?  Everything works, but these prompts are driving me nuts!

Try going to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all of the prompts, restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  See if that stops the prompts for your password.
(This deletes the account and iCloud data from your Mac, but not from iCloud.  Your data will download back to your Mac when you sign back in.)

  • I'm on 4.2.1 and keep getting timed out (err=.3259) when trying to download 4.3.3. I have tried disabling the firewall and antivirus but still no luck. Any ideas?

I'm on 4.2.1 and keep getting timed out (err=.3259) when trying to download 4.3.3. I have tried disabling the firewall and antivirus but still no luck. Any ideas?

I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.
Try this and let me know how it works!

  • I keep getting prompted to instal Reader and sign the agreement.  But it is already installed.

Have you accepted the EULA? How this is done depends on your platform, which we don't know.

  • TS1389 What if I keep getting prompted to authorize my computer (only for 3 songs), but my computer is already authorized?

I purchased a whole CD from iTunes and can play all but 3 songs.  I keep getting prompted to authorize my account to play these 3 songs.  But when I enter my apple ID and password, I get a message that says my computer is already authorized.  It keeps cycling around and won't let me play the 3 songs. Anyone else ever have this problem or find an answer?

    As Niel says...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
You may also find it helpful while downloading to select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.

I keep getting this error in Dreamweaver when I am trying to upload my website?  Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?  here is the error message: /html - error occurred - Unable to create remote folder /html.  Access denied.  The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.   Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.  File activity incomplete. 1 file(s) or folder(s) were not completed.  Files with errors: 1 /html

Nobody can tell you anything without knowing exact site and server specs, but I would suspect that naming the folder "html" wasn't the brightest of ideas, since that's usually a default (invisible) folder name existing somewhere on the server and the user not having privileges to overwrite it.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also.  I'm running XP Pro, SP3.  I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair.  Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess.  Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes.  Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing.  I haven't begun to work on that.
