Keep Getting Temperature Warning...
I keep getting the temperature warning, and my iPod isn't even hot. Recently, I've been getting it around ever 5 minutes, and that time just keeps getting shorter. It's horrible. I'm also getting the warning just when it's charging. I don't understand why it's happening. Plus, I've only had my iPod for a little over 3 months so it's not even that old. Have you ever had this problem? What should I do? Also, in the case that I'm going to have to get a new iPod, how do I save the apps I've bought?
You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring from backup
- Restoring to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you still have the problem you very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If defective, Apple will exchange your iPod for a replacment.

I got it about this time last year when my 3g battery connector took a crap But i was down the beach with my friend and we were biking and i went to pull out my ipod to play some music and it said temp warning so i put in the hotel room and let it cool of it was only like 80F out side came back in it still had temp warning it will only work it you let it sit near like a ac vent off for a couple mins and turn it on and if you use it screen will go dim and it will say temp warning any help
Try the following:

Compressor 4 crashes on opening keep getting this warning: The application “Compressor” unexpectedly quit while trying to restore its windows. Do you want to try to restore its windows again? Tried Restoring windows. It crashes again. Tried not = Same result. This is the first time I've actually used the app although I purchased it back in April (I think). I had my first longform project completed in FCPX and tried sending it to Compressor 4 and got this result over and over again.

Sorry to say I've not had any success in getting Compressor 4 to work. I've tried every suggestion mentioned earlier on this topic to no avail. Compressor 4 is dead in the water. On the last two projects I had to go back to Compressor 3.x.xx to complete the projects. The only hint that I have of wha may have happened concerns something I did early on. When I bought this computer I decided to replace the hard drive with a larger one. Since I already had my software up and working on the drive that came with the computer I decided to clone everything to the new larger drive. As I recall, Compressor 4 worked on the original drive but it doesn't work on this cloned version. So maybe there is a relationship there. I haven't had a chance yet to reinstall my old drive and see if C 4 works on it. If it does work then I know the source of the problem but not how to fix it on the new drive. Did you do anything like cloning your drive recently too? It's just a thought and may not lead anywhere but later this week when I catch a break I'll give the old drive a try and will post my results.

and check to see that are no large folders of files that you do not know about on your computer. Normally it will be Pics, Music or Movies.
If everyfile is required then you may well have to physically back a lot of it up to an external drive. You need a minimum of 15% free disc space to operate at a reasonable rate.

Each time I go back to my.yahoo.com, why does it keep getting a warning "We noticed you may have signed in or signed out in another window. Click OK to reload your page." message?
How about the cookies for that domain - did you delete those cookies?
"Keep me logged in for ..... weeks/days" is usually done via setting a cookie in the browser so the website recognizes the browser when you return and automatically logs the user in to the website via that cookie.
It seems that some websites have a problem recognizing the "remember me" cookie after a Firefox update, and the user need to set a new cookie with the updated version of Firefox so the website will recognize your preference. This particular problem with some websites not recognizing their own "remember me" cookie started like 4 years ago, shortly after Firefox 3.0 was released with an all new method of storing cookies. In the last 4 years this problem is mentioned less often as the years went by, so some websites must have fixed it at their end - where other websites evidently haven't gotten a handle on it.
Websites really need to get involved in the various "programs" out there like Browser ID / Persona - https://login.persona.org/about - and get rid of that hokey "cookies" method of remembering the users preference for being automaticall logged in upon their return to their website. -
I keep getting a warning that my phone has not backed up and that it needs to be plugged in, locked and connected to wifi to back up. I have tried many times, with all these conditions being met, but nothing. Help!?!
This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup. Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup. -

This was not a Firefox update, but a piece of malicious software you have inadvertently downloaded from a site called http://ffftp.co.cc/ which is impersonating Firefox. I discovered this as soon as my Zonealarm requested permission for "Golds" to access the internet. Golds??!! However I couldn't find a file with this name installed on my computer.
You should delete the file you downloaded and certainly do not allow internet access to any suspicious program. If you have already given permission, scan your PC immediately for any virus, malware, etc. Best of luck. -
I keep getting a Warning that I'm running out of disk space. Even after I deleted all of my photos and e-mail I still show 0 available space. Please help!
Correct KiltedTim the iPhone does not have a disk drive, and it does give an error message about running out of disk space. I'm here searching for how to clear it and/or what causes it. A friends 8gb iphone 3G has started giving her that message. It is not jailbroken, has no videos, 400 songs, 20 apps. The system information says there is 0 bytes free. There is 4.6 Gb of "other" data taking up the remaining free space. None of the few apps on the phone I expect would take up that much space with data. Even her emails and saved text messages shouldn't fill 4GB. New iPhone coming in the next couple of days. Easiest to just reset the old one after the upgrade and redownload the apps to make sure not to mess things up.

I keep getting a message that I am disconnecting my digital camera incorrectly. Before I got my iMac I didn't have this problem, but now I can't find the FILE, EJECT buttons. My computer consultant says to go to UNTITLED FOLDER under ALBUMS and click on the circular icon to the right of it. Right now
the untitled folder is there, but not the circlular icon. No matter how I try to do this, I get a warning that I have done it improperly and that I may have caused damage. I don't want to damage my camera or my iMac. How can I disconnect properly?When you connect your camera, what settings do you use for importing the pictures? I have mine set to simply show on the desktop, so I get an icon "Canon" on my desktop. When I'm done, I drag that icon to the trash and that is how you properly eject it. So we need to figure out where that icon is. Go to your settings in iPhoto and check those as well as in CDs and DVDs in System Preferences and also in Finder Preferences. Post what you see in those locations.

I purchased a macbook air about 5 months ago and lately i keep recieving a warning that the hard drive or disk is full and that I will need to move items to trash in order to free up space on it. I purchased a external hard drive 1 TB but I'm very new to mac and ios and unsure as to how I'm suppose to transfer my files (video, pics, music etc.) from my mac over to the external hard drive in the correct way so I won't end up deleting them permenately or screwing anything up with my mac as far as the applications and programs being able to run. Am I supposed to just copy to the external hard drive and then move to and empty the trash? That's pretty much all I could come up with, but then what if i need or want to access that file again at a later time. Also, I have an i Phone and i pad so with i cloud it automatically syncs all my purcheses and if i delete something from itunes on my mac it deletes from my ipad.
I'd appreciate any kind of input i think im just a little lost here. I have to say i love my Mac and wouldn't trade it for anything (except maybe a macbook pro w/more memory)... Is there something I'm missing???To free up hard drive space the best bet is to move data files that you don't need access to all the time. Likely candidates are music, video, and photos. Things like word processing and spreadsheet files can also be moved but they tend not to be very large and so don't free up much space. The problem with moving the above mentioned files is that iTunes and iPhoto need to know where the files are stored.
Here's an article explaining how to move the iTunes folder. You can move the iPhoto library using the Finder but there is a slight complication. Start iPhoto, open the Preferences and click on the Advanced tab. The first option is "Copy items to the iPhoto Library". If this option is checked, copy the iPhoto library to your external folder (drag it from the Pictures folder to your external drive) and then delete it from your Picture folder. If this option is not checked, it is a bit more complicated and we'll need to talk a bit. -
Just tried to download and install latest ITunes update and it would not finish update. I aborted the update and then my ITunes will not open. I keep getting and error stating that file MSVCR80.dll not found. I reinstalled my original ITune file but this did not clear this error. Any ideas.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

The re-directs can be a troublesome issue, with more than one cause.

Iphone 3g keeps getting temperature message.
The phone has been getting the temperature message for 2 days now and it wont let me use is, it will only give me the option of making an emergency call. I have tried leaving it alone to "cool off" but nothing works. I also tried restoring it on my computer but itunes will only recognize it for less than a minute then it will disappear. I am not sure what to do. Has anyone had this problem?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
