Those messages are related to the 1Click Weather extension, disable or un-install that extension until the developer of that extension fixes it.

I keep getting the an Alexa Sparky pop-up each time I open Firefox, it does not provide a "no" option... how can I permanently stop the popup?

Every time I hit enter or change page I get a Java script box with the comment uninstal set and a place to click OK. I tried re starting my computer and that did not help. I tried re-installing firefox 4.0 and that did not help. Not sure what to do now. I can not continue until I tell it OK.

When I open Foxfire a box comes up that says "Javascript Application" in the box is the message uninstal set. It comes up every time I open a page or a tab. Every time I open up Firefox, the update checking window opens first, then I get 2 tabs that open. One is my home page, the other is the page that opens after a new version of Firefox is installed. How can I get the Firefox update page to stop opening? I had the same thing happen with the "Download Helper" add-on. The only way I could get it to stop was to disable it. hello, this may also be the current problem in firefox 20 that when you first close all open firefox windows and then close the application afterwards it is mistaken for a crash - the bug should be addressed in a later version of firefox.

Thank you for answering my question. After taking the screen shot I started thinking "maybe it's one of the add-ons that I downloaded!!!" So I turned off the "Yahoo! Notifier" add-on, and sure enough "poof-it never appeared again"... Thanks for being the guy to get me out of myself and start thinking backwards...(And I really don't need that add-on anyway, just seemed cool that's all)... Thanks again timc...!!!

How do I stop the "Better Privacy" help page coming up every time I open Firefox and while browsing?

The "Better Privacy" help page opens as a separate tab every time I open Firefox. I close it, but it keeps coming back, usually when I go to another site (by clicking a link or using a bookmark) and at seemingly random intervals while I'm browsing.

Two add-ons update every time I open Firefox; same versions, over and over.

NoScript and Download Helper launch updates every time I open Firefox (latest ver). If I close browser, they launch again immediately.

Thanks, Fred. Tried that and tried it again, restarting between attempts. No dice. Firefox still wants to download both every time. I can even apply my license to Download Helper. It runs while Firefox is open, but tries to reinstall DLH next time I open Firefox.

You have limited opportunity to attempt to create a backup of your created files.
That is what the SafeBoot or safemode appears to allow you -- at the moment.
Since the hard disk drive exhibits signs of failure or other major issues, plan
on a replacement in the near future. You may be able to get the computer to
start up in a regular full OS X (not safe mode) but consider its hours are limited.
An externally enclosed hard disk drive (with own power supply, not relying on
Mac ports to run it) is a good basic means of which to use a disk utility to make
a copy or a Clone of the current OS X. This may help retrieve an archive that
could be used along with a Time Machine backup, to restore your Mac once you
get a new hard drive installed inside.

Do you also connect the external USB drive to the AC power as well while you use it ?
Sometimes USB external drive problems are resolved simply by plugging them into the mains power and trying again.

Welcome to the forums.
Looks like that error message does refer to encoding (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1645) but a problem could be that your video has to be reloaded into iDVD if you started the encoding process and then switched settings. You could start a new iDVD project, or try deleting encoded assets.
Let's start from the beginning -- what length of video are you trying to fit on the DVD? (this will indicate what encoding options you have). Double layer DVDs can be finicky and are used for video more than 2 hrs long.
Use good quality media -- Verbatim is often recommended around here, and I've used Sony DVD-R with good results.
