Keep getting unrequested Apple ID change request emails?
I keep getting emails from Apple about reseting my Apple ID password. I've not requested these so I'm concerned someone might be trying to hack my account.
This is a serious ongoing issue that needs to be addressed. The legitimate messages about someone having tried to reset my password began several months ago, and increased in frequency in December. I recevied a message about someone in Taiwan having downloaded a game, so I changed my passwords on both accounts (I have two). Then today I was told again that someone tried to reset my password, and exactly one hour later I got a message that it HAD been reset. I am not finger pointing at Apple, but I am using Apple devices exclusively, and the problem concerns my Apple ID.
The account which was reset was an old inactive account, and I changed the password a couple of weeks ago. This problem is very widespread, considering the number of posts in the forums. Only a very small percentage of people who have a problem bother to post it in a forum.
By the way, I do not use social media, so information was not stolen or guessed this way.
I have warned all of my friends who have Iphones.

Try to do this I keep getting an error message saying ‘This email address is designated as your rescue email address and cannot be used as your Apple ID or Primary email address. If you share an Apple ID, both of your phone numbers should be linked to that ID. You should be able to use your phone number as well. My wife, my daughter and I all share an Apple ID for purchases, and we each text from our iOS devices using our own iPhone numbers.
When iOS 6 came out, you were able to link the phone number with your Apple ID to use for Messages and FaceTime. You will need to sign out of messages on all devices and then start the process all over again.

I have recently had my MacBook Pro and iPad stolen so I have bought a new iPad, since syncing to my existing Apple ID account I keep getting another Apple ID popping up asking for the password. Does this mean that the owner of this appe ID have my stuff?
You should change your AppleID password NOW. And if it says it was registered under another AppleID, the thief has probably done it.

I keep getting repeated downloads of the same email messages
I keep getting repeated download of the same emails sometimes within seconds of each other. I have to switch off my email to stop it. Has anyone a solution? It only happens on my Apple devices and not on my PC.

They would say that, wouldn't they. How do they know yours isn't the first of many? Are you with Yahoo; they tend to have these problems.

I keep getting asked for my password for email. Says my POP server "pop.charter.net" rejected the password. In the past I just went into my email and it came up automatically.
In Keychain, in the Keychain window, select "login". In the category window, select passwords.
In the name field, look for name of your outgoing server for that account (like smtp.mail.yahoo.com, outbound.att.net, or whatever outgoing server you have).
Just highlight it and delete it. Delete any and all for that account.
You also may want to check and make sure all your outgoing server settings are correct in Mail preferences. If any info is incorrect, it will not work. Sometimes providers change servers and you don't know about it. You may want to check that if the Keychain fix doesn't work. -

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.

I keep getting a message to change screen resolution when I attemtp to access Media Manager
Does anyone know a resolution to this? My computers display setting/resolution are set at 1440x900 however, I keep getting a message to change it. It tells me to change to a setting of 1040x760 or above and I already am.
Any help would be appreciated.I don't have a solution - that can be found elsewhere in the forums. I have a question about this thoug. I am using a Dell Netbook and cannot set the display options to the settings required to use Meida Manager.
Is there a way around this display setting requirement? I like everything about Desktop Manager on my Netbook, with this exception.
