Keep getting update events in 1.4.1 - hangs CPU

Installed 1.4.1_01 on Win 2000. My Java application used to run on 1.3.1. It compiles and works fine, until I do something that causes the screen to refresh, such as scrolling or resizing the window. This causes the java process to get 95%-100% of CPU time and makes everything painfully slow.
It seems as if the app is getting a continues stream of update events, which causes it to paint the screen again & again (which takes all this CPU time). Any one have experienced something similar? Anything have changes in 1.4 in the way events (especially update/paint events) are managed/distributed?

I am having a problem similar with the update events. My program will just hang when events are fired. I am using Linux and 1.4.1-rc.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

    * Install the new version that you have downloaded

  • I keep getting updates for my itunes for 11.0.2 but it errors out.

I keep getting updates for my itunes for 11.0.2 but it errors out every time.  Can you help.

You don't have to update to iOS 6.0.1. A few iOS 6 users have reported problems, but most have not. However, for my iPad 2 I'm waiting until iOS 6.1 is released. iOS 6 doesn't add that much for the iPad 2, and it subtracts YouTube and Google Maps apps.

So you are on Mac OS X 10.7.5?  That means that you also have Mac OS X Preview.  Can you open the PDF files with Preview? If not, then that does not bode well.   You can also try another test by opening the PDF files in TextEdit as a text file to see if it has any content.  If you see objects similar to what is below and the file does not open in Adobe Reader or Mac OS X Preview then the file is probably damaged.

  • Trying to update Apple TV software, but keep getting "update was not successful" message--what gives?

Trying to update Apple TV software, but keep getting "update was not successful" message--what gives? Definitely have wifi connectivity.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Anyone else keep getting "Updating tree" ever since Pro App Support update?

Ever since one of the last updates for Pro Applications administered by Apple, Logic Pro 7 has been starting with an additional annoyance. I keep getting a little load window that says:
    "Updating tree, please wait"
Every time I start it up. Anyone else get this? It is pretty annoying. A push to get me to buy Logic 8 so I can appreciate Logic 8's 'superior speed'?
Not like getting Logic 8 would make too much a difference there, being that I am a Power PC user . . . but that is for another topic.
    Thanks!

okay, your recommendation sounded straight-forward enough. Thank you, by the way. But when I went into Logic to turn it off, I couldnt find where I could. And that is probably a part of the problem-- I don't know how I turned it on in the first place. Any tips on how I get there? Is there a key command for it? If so, that must be the way I accidentally turned it on. Thanks, again!!

I cannot connect to the Internet on my desktop with firefox since last night at about 8 pm. Everything was fine until then. I know I am "connected" because I get updates on the weather and my family tree works. I just cannot get email or surf the web. Please help.

  • Keep getting Update requests

I have an HP laptop running Windows 8. While using internet browser I am persistantly bothered with requests to allow Adobe to update the \\\flash \player - this happens every 10 minutes or so. I have installed the requested update but 10 minutes later I get another request for the same update. I have restarted the laptop - still same issue - I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest Adobe version but this issue keeps happening. It is very annoying. How do I stop these annoying update requests.

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml (stores the update history).

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I'm on a mac 10.4.11 i keep getting update messages for FF 3.6.18 i click update and it just keeps downloading but never finishes no matter how long i let it run. ???

this has happened at least 4-5 times. i have always in the past been able to update with no issues

about:crashes only lists crashes that you have reported using the [[Mozilla Crash Reporter]] which comes up after a crash. Because there are so many possible reasons for a crash, getting the crash ID really helps volunteers find the cause quicker.
That doesn't mean we can't help without a crash id. :-) No crashes here, but I'm also on Snow Leopard and using Firefox 3.6.6.
Are you using Firefox 3.6.6? The most common cause of crashes on Mac is the Flash plugin. Are you using the latest version of Flash? You can check at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
Do you remember any specific circumstances about when the crash occurred? What sites you were on?

  • Keep getting update messages but the update won't download

On clicking to update in the the update widow, it looks to be attempting to do something but nothing downloads. I get the message to update almost everyday (3.6.16 I think). Also Firefox 4 "yahoo" won't install. On opening the application/update, it has a white circle with a line through the firefox logo, and won't drag to the applications folder.
    I'm using Mac OSX10.4.11

Nah, going to the admin user to attempt the update in the way you suggest just shows that firefox4 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.4.
But what I am really after os the so-called Yahoo optimised version, which in the system requirements says that 10.4 and Mac G4 is ok.
    So why the issue?
In fact I had allready tried to do this install from the admin account.

  • Blackberry Z10 keeps getting update message and its already updated

I have a BB Z10, whenever I plug it into the computer I get the message that an update is available.  I ave updated the device a couple times and my device is currently running 10.1.0.273.  Is this a normal thing?

Had the same issue, also on Rogers.
It would ask me for an update, then tell me that the update failed, over and over again.
Ended up deleting Rogers apps (1Number, My Account, Anyplace Live) - went through BBWorld...My World...My Apps and Games, although long-press and delete should work too.
Haven't been asked to update since.

  • Flash wont work, have current edition, says not enabled but not in file, keep getting update adobe when trying to play video, how do you enable when not on menu?

I have over and over tried to accommodate the update flash message that pops up when trying to view videos, the closest I have gotten is enable in chrome but at that repository adobe isnt there, dont know what to do next, have tried many work throughs and none work, does any body have something? Dell latitude 500 been hotrodded, for speed, linux OS xbuntu 12.04 chrome current all out to date, going crazy have run clam av 0 comeback cant find adobe in any fashion only file in manager or setting but no help there, any ideas?

iDvd is not a general burn utility. However, there's a very good chance (whatever that file is) that Toast will burn it to Dvd-R. And if not (which is unlikely) then do as suggested already and use Mpegstream Clip. It's 100% free! However Mpeg 2 playback component may run you a few bucks (if needed).
Or the alternative is to invest hundreds of dollars in Apple software and use apps like FCP and DVDSP (or FCS) along with QT Pro. Nine times out of ten this combination tends to work well ... but it ain't cheap (not to mention a rather steep learning curve).
