Keep losing connection every 15 minutes

As the topic say, I keep losing connection about every 15 minutes, which has been ongoing
for more than 24 hours. This is starting to get on my nerves, I'm running a business and every
time I get cut out, I lose a lot of money. BT Infinite suppose to be relyable and stable
and here I am with this flashing modem, paying 45 pounds a month for this **bleep**. This is not the
first time this is happening, what the F are you going to do about it?
I would like to cancel my contract before it runs out, since you are not delivering what promised.
Im relying on a stable connection.

why does my mouse keep losing connection every minute, its not the batteries

I'm having the same issue.  Every so often it loses connection then re establishes. This goes on repeatedly.
If you change batteries while the computer is still active then it takes for ever to re connect.
Can't wait until someone replies to your question.

  • Access point --- Internet losing connection every 5 minutes....

i have a wrt54g v6 router and a wmp54g both current drivers and firmware from the linksys website. i am frequently losing connection between router and internet. i've lowered my mtu, i've forwarded ports, reinstalled card in all 4 pci slots, i've literally done everything i know possible to do. i sat on the phone for 4 hours waiting on a linksys technician before my phone died friday trying to get ahold of someone for some help. resetting the router doesn't seem to help at all. the connection loss time is random aswell. sometimes it's for minutes sometimes it's for 10 seconds, but when you're playing online games that's all it takes to disconnect you. i've been going absolutely crazy trying to fix this so if anyone has any idea's i would be ever so greatful.

First off all i don't suggest to play online games on wireless since as we all know wireless is such an unstable media for connection.
Can you tell me the distance between the computer and the router. Also what is in the direct environment of the network.
Are you using a 2.4 GHz cordless phone. This device is can cause intermittent internet connection on wireless networks
we still have to isolate the problem just in case something else is causing your problem.

  • Windows 8 keeps losing connectivity

Hi, not sure if this is unique but for the past few weeks Windows 8 has been losing connectivity every few minutes when browsing web pages, playing games etc. I am sure it's windows 8 as I have another work laptop using XP that I can be on all day via a
VPN and that does not drop at all (it would normally drop within a few seconds of losing connectivity). I've done a lot of searching on the net for the same issue, others seem to be having similar things happen such as slow speed but can't find anything that
    matches, hence this separate question.
I have also tried swapping routers to no avail. The thing is, you wouldn't know anything had happened from the network connectivity. Suddenly a page won't load. The wireless connectivity at the bottom right of the screen shows a full 5 bars (not limited
connectivity). The way to get it back again is to leave it for a few minutes or disconnect from the router and reconnect again. Even whilst typing this I have had to do that twice.
    I'd appreciate some suggestions!
    Many Thanks, Paul.

  • LaCie external hard drive keeps losing connection to Windows 8.1 computer

    Hello all,
My LaCie external hard drive (Rugged version) seems like it keeps losing connection to my brand new Windows 8.1 laptop. The laptop is an HP Pavillion 15-p 133cl TouchSmart Notebook which I just got today. Basically, every few minutes, or if I nudge the external
a bit, the computer will seem like it disconnected and reconnected to the external hard drive in a split second and bring it up in the Windows Explorer. This external hard drive doesn't show any problems connecting to any other computer, but it has occurred
with 2/3 ports on this computer so far. I'm a bit worried, because I definitely DO NOT want the files on this external to get corrupted in any way. What should I do? Thanks a bunch.

may I know your external HDD model, to check which USB version to isolate power and cable connection issue
if this is USB 3.0 try to attached at USB 3.0 at your laptop, your laptop has 2 USB 3.0 and 1 for 2.0, for external HDD with USB 2.0 sometimes need more power / more than 1 connection, sometimes the power will loose
but since the trigger it will disconnect if you nudge the HDD, I suggest back up data to your laptop first, try to change with other data or power cable, try also update your laptop chipset
try to check with other device to isolate port issue
may I know if you are using other PC, did your external HDD also will disconnect if you nudge it?
contact your external HDD manufactured to get some suggestion

  • Keep losing Connection between iTunes and Express

I have Express, used exclusively to play music through powered speakers. However, my eMac and MacBook Pro iTunes keep losing connection to the Express. I have repeatedly reset the Express, get the connection back temporarily, then lose it again. I use a Netgear NEXT Wireless-N router and I do not see a setting that might solve this problem.
Anyone have an answer? Should I set the router to have Express use a particular Port?

Okay guys, I've got it with the help of Michael at Apple tech support (great customer service experience today--thanks Apple): It took some time to diagnosis the problem, but the solution we found was that it was actually two problems relating to interference:
    1. Change the channel: The network (changed it in Time Capsule as the AE is connected to that network) channel was set to 6, which is a common one that many routers default to. We set it to 9 and that improved it a lot, but not all the way, and he suggested trying some other channels to find the channel with the least interference in the area.
    2. Cordless 2.4 GHz cordless phone: We unplugged it and it's seemed to solve the interference problem almost perfectly (it's just cutting out for a second here and there every few minutes--compared to before for several minutes and only playing for a few seconds). He suggested getting a 6.0 GHz phone to bypass the interference, which is likely what I'll do. I'll also try relocating the phones base station and see if that makes any difference. Either way, after several hours of trying to figure it out it's nice to be listening to my music!
If I find out anything else I'll post it here.

  • Losing wireless every few minutes

My macbook pro is losing its internet connection every few minutes (wireless on at&t 2wire router). I have to stop and restart airport to regain connection.
Other macs on the same router work fine. On this one, istumbler will not launch. It worked once then get unexpected error crash after that. Is that a clue?

iStumbler depends on a stable wireless connection to be able to display any data. If you can't establish a good wireless connection, iStumber cannot run.
Any cordless phones in the vicinity of the MacBook? Any other electronic devices like televisions or amplifiers near the MacBook? Any metal obects like a cabinet or bookshelf near the MacBook?

  • Deskjet 3520 keeps losing connection to Mac

Last night, I installed an HP Deskjet 3520 printer to use with my desktop Mac (which is using OS Yosemite).  I have an etsy shop where I sell prints of my illustrations, so I often have to print out multiple files in a row.  When I installed the driver last night, I was able to wirelessly print the test page, but after that, I could not print wirelessly.  Instead, I used the USB connection, which worked fine.  I printed a round of prints and everything worked fine.
This morning, I need to do some more printing, and my Mac reported that there was no connection to the printer (even though the printer was connected via USB).  I deleted the printer from my Systems Preferences Printers and re-added it, and I was finally able to do my printing (still not wirelessly).
Now, tonight, I have tried to do more printing and the Mac reports that there is no connection to the printer, USB or wireless.  I tried deleting from Systems Preferences and re-adding again, but that didn't work this time.  Then, I tried resetting the printing system, uninstalling HP, and re-installing the driver.  Now, I'm at the part of the installer where the device needs to be configured and I am receiving the message:
Device Not Reachable.  The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device.  However, your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network.
I don't know what keeps going wrong!  The little screen on my printer says it is connected to my wireless network AND I am still connected via USB so I don't know how the device would not be reachable.  I also don't know why the printer would keep losing connection with the computer every time I need to start printing again.  Please help!!

    Hi @tylertot
    This is in deed a little strange, but I'd like to help! Some of the steps I am going to offer are steps you have done, but I;d like to perform the following steps in the order presented to see what happens. Please give the following a try;
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable, also unplug the USB cable. Restart teh Mac and then plug the printer power cable back in. You can also go ahead and reconnect the USB cable.
Reset Printing System  - (I know you did this already, thus you know how, but here are the steps for others who may view this thread)
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Repair Disk Permissions  - I don't see that you have tried this yet, and this step might be crucial to resolving the issue.
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and add the printer back.
When you add the printer, please ensure you are using the HP driver. You can add the wireless or the USB, or Both. If you ad both, I suggest adding a name to identify one connection from the other.
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can the printer driver
You can see in the image above where the name section is, if you add both connection types simply add USB to the beginning of one of the names.
Adding both printers and naming them to help identify them helps when it comes time to print. When you print something you can choose the printer with the appropriate connection type. For example, you can choose the wireless driver ad if you get an offline message try printing again but choose the USB driver. If the USB one works you will know the issue is related to the Wireless connection, and if it doesn;t then the issue is related tot he operating system.  Really this is just a proactive troubleshooting attempt in case issue arise in the near future. If you only want to add one connection type that is okay too.
I look forward to hearing from you.

  • External drive conntected to Time Capsule keeps losing connection

I've been having this problem since I bought my TC over one year ago. Other than this everything works fine (aside from the occasional need for a restart).
I have an external 500GB drive attached to my 500GB TC via usb. I use the TC strictly for backups and the other drive to host my media files. When I want to use those files I switch on the drive. Only about half of the time does that work. When it does work everything is fine. I see the drive in the finder as expected.
When it doesn't work, I can see the drive name in the finder. But if I click to go into the folder, I get an error saying that the connection cannot be found.
It shows up in the Airport Utility as normal.
Powering the drive off and on does not help.
Relaunching the finder doesn't help either.
The only way I can connect to the drive again is to either logoff and log back into my mac, or restart the TC.
It seems that my computer is remembering some kind of network disk mounting settings that don't get refreshed when I turn on the drive, but then do get refreshed when I logoff and back in. Does anyone know how I could force that refresh to happen? Has anyone had this problem before?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated
PS all my software and firmware are the latest.
    Thanks.

Since the MobileMe move I keep getting a pop-up screen that says "IDisk Conflict Resolver." I've done everything asked to "resolve" the problem but it keeps popping up every few minutes. How can I get rid of this?

    Ok....so I have found a work around....if not a complete solution.
I'm not sure if deleting your music, uninstalling ITunes and reinstalling and adding your music back will actually affect it but I tried it again. Started from scratch.
I checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos"
Then I moved my music to phone via drag and drop, usually just boxing a row of albums at a time.
I went back into my Iphone and began the sync. The message popped up, "1 Item could not be synced" and the sync stopped. At that point, I just clicked sync again and it started back up again. It took a few go's but eventually I got all my music on my phone.
Ironically enough, the only songs that wouldn't sync were songs that I had actually purchased from Itunes....kinda odd

  • Why does my iPad2 suddenly keep losing connection on facetime?

Why does my iPad2 suddenly keep losing connection on FaceTime and tries to constantly reconnect?

Does it happen anywhere that you use FaceTime or only in your home WiFi network? If it happens with your home network, have you tried power cycling your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Turn WiFi off and on in the settings. Reset the network settings.
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps at all?

  • HT2845 why does my wireless mouse keep losing connection?

  • Loosing internet connection every 15 minutes

I am "loosing" my internet connection every 15 minutes. The cable box was replaced. Internet sharing is off. The firewall is on and no ports are checked. But, every 15 minutes, I get a message (using Safari) that there is no connection. I select network diagnostics and after I go through a few steps, all the buttons are green and then the connection works. This is very problematic, though, since I am loosing work while working online. Any suggestions?

    Hi otobinchicago,
The fact is you can delete the .plist (com.apple.networkConfig.plist) and re-enter your setting and you will find out if this is the problem, but as I can assure you I have been through the same process. Reconfiguring the computer, the modem, etc, and it was the hardware.
You could try taking your computer to a friends house linking it to their modem and testing it that way. As long as the post-computer to ISP link is nothing to do with your hardware, you will see that it could be hardware or software.
My bet is that it is hardware. It sounds too similar to what I had.

  • Why does my mouse keep losing connectivity

My magic Mouse (came with the system) keeps losing connectivity.  It seems that whenever the mouse has a period of inactivity such as when I am using the key board, it loses connectivity and I have to double tap it (two fingers) to get it to reconnect.  Battery is >80%.  Is this normal or is there a setting that can insure it stays connected?  I appreciate any advice even if it is I have to put up with this annoyance.  Thanks.

Thanks for the response.  My WFi is a Linksys E2000.  Because of the number of messages in the Console I will have to wait until the next time I lose connectivity and then check for messages in Console to see if there are any clues to what is going on.
