Can't re-order my queue on Netflix and keep losing the connection
I'm having so much trouble with Netflix! I can't re-order my queue, I keep losing the connection, and it's painfully slow. Is Netflix known to be unstable on iPad? Other internet connecitons seem to be fine.
I rarely have problems on it - I do occasionally have drops in video quality, but nothing consistent. It does require a very strong and stable network connection, and I also wonder if they have periodic "crush time" incidents on their end, considering the rapid growth of Netflix streaming.
Updating the queue is a pain on it - you can't do it on the app, and have to go to their website. I generally find it easier to do on a computer. -
My ipad3 seems to have connection issues. It is wifi only but keeps losing the connection and is really slow in loading pages - a bit like dial-up speed! My iPhone 4s and daughters' ipad2 have no problems at all. Any ideas anyone?
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Problem with ARD3 keeps losing the cursor
I am having problems with ARD3 whereby I keep losing the cursor when controlling another machine. The cursor is still there but you have to click-drag to see it moving. There was a similar problem a few months ago after a system update and pre ARD 3.1. I used to be able to upload the ARD client and that would solve the problem temporarily. But now that won't even work.
Another thing I notice when that happens is that my "Hidden Dock" stops appearing unless I click in the area. That also happens with my menus. And Expose stops working too.
The only way to get around the problem, is to either restart the computer or leave it for anything up to 1 hr, then it will be fine again.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I use a MacBook Pro DC 2G with 2G of RAM. 10.4.9 and all the latest System Updates including Security Update 2007-04. This started happening even before the 2007-004 security update.
MacBook Pro DualCore 2G Mac OS X (10.4.9)I find that this happens only if a tool tip comes up after having it over an item in the toolbar however clicking in the remote computer's windows somewhere will bring the cursor back. Additionally switching windows, to say the main ARD window, and then back again will restore it as well.

I downloaded Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air, and it works without a hitch except for internet connectivity. It keeps losing the signal. My Macbook using the same connection is solid as a rock and never loses the connection. Is there something I can do? Since my Macbook works weell under exactly the same conditions and if memory serves so did my Macbook Air with Lion before I downloaded Mountain Lion, none of the usual fixes seem to apply.
ApplehankI have the same problem, I think. I dont lose wifi signal, the mba stays connected to the router the whole time. Pings also seem unaffected by this problem. The problem is that web pages seem to load intermittently, in other words, it loads a page in 2 minutes. It loads:
the first 25% in the first 5 seconds
the next 25% in the next 50 seconds
the next 25% in the next 5 seconds
the last 25% in the last 50 seconds
Its quite annoying considering this can be as simple a page as goolge search results or even google.com.
I thought it was my ISP and i even made a big racket about it, switched ISPs and I have the same problem.
With the previous ISP I had a cisco router. This new ISP supplied their own modem/wifi. That doesnt seem to be the problem.
Im thinking its a config issue on my mba. I have the latest updates to ML.
Any ideas? -
Keep losing the remote speaker selector
My wife has a G4 iBook running 10.3.9 and is running the latest version of iTunes (6.0.5 I think). We have an Airport Extreme base station and 2 Airport Express units to stream music throughout our house.
My wife keeps losing the selection button on the lower right side of her iTunes used to select the remote speakers. The only way I have been able to get it back was to delete the com.apple.itunes.plist file and then restart iTunes. After answering the few questions it asks the selection button reappears. I have to repeat this every few days. Even though the button is gone she has full network access through the Airport Extreme.
I have a G5 iMac and I do not have this problem with my iTunes. In fact, on several occassions, when her selection button disappeared I immediately checked on my system and the button was there.
Any thoughts what is causing this?
Thanks,
DavidI spent some time in the Network Manager and tried to force a statis IP address for her iBook. I couldn't get the static IP address to connect to the Inrternet and have since gone back to DHCP on her machine. That seems to have fixed the problem. I suspect the was an address "stuck" in her setup which has now cleared.

Recently I upgraded Lion to 10.7.3. Since that time I have been having a lot of trouble with my internet connection. I keep losing the connect and have to go to diagnostics and turn it back on. Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks, PatI'm afraid there are numerous threads on here discussing this problem. I posted in this one earlier that has a couple of suggestions, but the real solution will hopefully be provided in an update from Apple:

My iMac keeps losing the connection to my chosen Airport Wi-Fi network. Anyone know why this happens?
Close all Apps and see if Activity Monitor shows any processes runnung.
Not that I think this is the cure but have you tried these resets:
SMC RESET
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.
PRAM RESET
Zap the PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -
I have a Airport Extreme 802.11n and my T.V. is a panisonic,I keep losing the connection. Anybody have any answers?
Plenty of suggestions.. only you can find out which one is correct.
What model AE? What firmware?
Since Panasonic TV is not apple it will use SMB windows type networking.. everything but Apple does.
Are the names in the AE all SMB compatible.. ie short.. max about 20 characters.. no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Is the security set to WPA2 Personal with a pure alphanumeric password of 10-20 characters.. more is fine if you suffer paranoia but isn't needed.
Fix the wireless channels.. so it doesn't flip flop like a dying fish.
There are only 3 channels for 2.4ghz that do not overlap, 11, 6, 1 although someone suggested 8 works well if you have heaps of interference. If you live in flat/apartment building you have heaps of interference.
Lastly is it stable if the distance is 3M direct line of sight?
If not then get a high power wireless AP and use that instead. -

apple tv keeps losing the connection to itunes
Hi I have all my appletvs set to NEVER SLEEP - go to your appletv settings/general/sleep after and choose never sleep. Since doing that I have had no problem with them. Also I leave my 2010 macbook pro running itunes and permanently on and open - it is my main homesharing disk. I give it a sleep every now and then when not using appletv.
Try that first anyway. -
My Macbook keeps losing the desktop appearance and keyboard settings. How to fix this?
My Macbook Pro keeps losing the desktop appearance and keyboard settings randomly after going to sleep. They go back to default settings. I run the very last update of Snow Leopard.
How to fix this once and for all?How do I cleanly disconnect. I usually go to File, quit RDC.
someone told me that it could be my old macbook tying it up but most everything has been wiped off of that computer. -
I keep losing the connection on my apple mouse
I keep losing the connection to my apple mouse. The batteries are ok, but the connection still drifts in and out. Any suggestions?
You say the batteries are okay. Here are a few notes I've put together.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems. Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best.
Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor. I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this. Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation. The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available. Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced.
Note. Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular. The notes above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.
Note. Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly the rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ... Turn off the device. Remove the batteries, Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and the batteries themselves. Replace or renew both batteries. Turn on the device. You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired. Click the mouse to activate it. The green light becomes steady.
