I signed up for Keep My Email about a year and a half ago, when considering moving to a new ISP. I have paid for it annually twice and it shows up under my services. I have a couple of questions. If I should discontinue using Verizon, do I need to make any changes to Outlook in order to continue using the email I currently use as my primary email @verizon.net. Also the receipt which I have shows a long jumbled mix of letters showing [email protected] I tried using Site Control just to check into the doman, and my regular password for verizon doesn't work. I really just want to make sure that I have this set up 100% before I make any actual changes such as terminating my Verizon Account. I have seen multiple posts on here where people were unable to access email after terminating their account in spite of prepaying for the My Domain Service. How do I verify this. I don't see any tools in the account settings making mention of the Domain Service, but if you check my Services, it shows up as being part of my current package. I'm just looking for some solid information from somebody that knows. Thank you in advance for your help.

You are correct. You need to go to Verizon Your Domain and pay the fee to keep your email account. http://www.verizon.com/home/utilities/domain-name/

This isn't due to malware. There is no known malware capable of infecting an iPad that has not been jailbroken (ie, hacked to allow apps from outside the App Store).
As lizdance40 says, your Hotmail account has been hacked remotely. Change the password immediately. Hotmail accounts are popular targets, but as long as you choose a good password, and make sure that password is not the same as a password you use with any other account, you should be safe.
I disagree with lizdance40's statement that you have to abandon the account and create a new e-mail address. If a hacker is able to get back in even after changing the password, the problem is not with the account itself. There's another vulnerability of some kind somewhere. Perhaps the account allows hackers to leave a "back door" to get back in (such as with GMail's delegation feature), in which case any such feature needs to be reviewed and have settings changed. Perhaps you are checking mail in an insecure manner while on an insecure network (ie, a wireless network that requires no password). Perhaps you are using a password on multiple accounts, and a different account has been compromised. Perhaps a hacker has used knowledge gained by prior access to your account to achieve "social hacking" (ie, convincing a tech to give him access because he has "forgotten the password"). There are many scenarios, but there's no good reason to abandon the account entirely.

We do this in my family now. We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores). Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud. That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup. That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice. You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.

Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response. What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures. Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures. 1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

When you purchased the additional storage it over-rode and cancelled the free storage you got as a result of having been a MobileMe subscriber. You are getting these automated emails because 'the right hand knoweth not what the left hand doeth' (Ecclesiastes 11:1) - just ignore them. They will stop in another week.

I keep receiving emails for someone called Amanda to my email address. These are not spam emails; it seems like someone called Amanda is signing up to reputable websites using my email address. So far, Pinterest, Educreations and a women's magazine have sent me emails to confirm my membership. There doesn't seem to be anything suspect going on: they're all respectable websites, and they're always addressed to Amanda. I was also receiving confidential emails from a legitimate business with invoices etc. a while back.
I'm confused as to what would be the cause and/or point of this. It seems like a very benign way to spam/scam somebody. Is it possible (I feel ridiculous even asking this) that emails can become crossed like telephones? I know, I know, it's a stupid question.
I'd like to contact Apple Support about this, but I seem to be going round in circles on the website. Unless I have AppleCare (mine is expired) I can't seem to get in contact with anyone. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

Is there a way to keep unread email at the top of the list? I do not delet email after it's read so I end up with many 'read' email between the un-read email. Is there a way to cluster the un-read email at the top of the list?

Just make a smart mailbox (unread mail) and leave it in the sidebar.

How much mail are we talking about here? Roughly how many messages, and roughly how many gigabytes of mail?
Who is the mail provider? Is this a local provider on a local network, or one of the "free" providers, or something from your ISP?
Do you have free disk space on your OS X system here, or is it possible that your disk is getting full?
As for the usual diagnostics for problems with Mail.app, launch Mail.app and select the Connection Doctor from the Window menu, let it run, select More Details, and re-run the tests. Expunge any personally-identifying information and post the results here, if they don't make the trigger clear.
You can also try a mailbox repair pass; there's a Rebuild option in the Mail.app menus.
If the downloads are failing, then the usual trigger is the IMAP or POP password setup; there are two entirely seperate connections and two separate credentials and such; the send path (SMTP) and the receive (IMAP or POP) path. Usual triggers for problems are changes to the mail servers involved, or the mail ports, or the credentials needed; I've seen vendors change each of those, and forget to mention it to their users.
That OS X version is extremely old. (I don't have anything nearly that old to check the details fo the setup of that version; 10.6.8 is the oldest OS X version I have handy.)

It's worked prior to using M. Lion. Any suggestions? Also, The other pressing issue i have is, I DO NOT want ANY mail showing in my inboxes when Mail starts UNTIL i enter that password for each account. Instead of creating different user accounts for the MacBook, it's just easier this way. Or is it? If this is a permanent thing, then I may switch back to Lion. I guess I shoud've waited until the kinks were out before installing (**** Mac-head!)

That is simply not possible with Mail, and never has been. Anyone who uses your account can see all messages stored in Mail. The only true solution is to not let other people use your account. Let other people use the guest account, or if you share the machine with someone else, set up a separate user account for that person. This will also solve the problem of remembering the password. It will become a non-issue for Mail to remember your password if nobody else has access to your account.

Keep My Email How Does It Work With Outlook

I have two internet service providers, Verizon and another small local DSL/Phone provider. I have kept the Verizon for several years because neither has very good bandwidth and my household bogs down without 2 mediocre services, and for the email, which I have had for close to 10 years. Right now the Verizon line is not even usable. I had to call India twice and actually did get a person to repair the line 2 times. It worked for three weeks after the line was fixed, now, barely at all. I'm tired of spending $75.00/month for nothing. The support is horrible. The company could care less whether they keep you as a customer.
That being said, I'd like to get rid of it and turn the line over to the other local ISP DSL provider or God Forbid, try Home Fusion, and keep my email alias which I have used forever. I don't really want to hear about how I should have a gmail account or this is my fault for not getting an email address not linked to an ISP. This is what I am working with, and I need to keep the account.
I manage my email locally using Outlook 2010, and I have all of the old email. I sometimes occassionally use the web-based email, but not often.
First, if I buy the domain before I cancel, will I get my emails addressed to the alias [email protected], because none of the parties contacting me have ever addressed anything to the real email name which is a mixture of hard to remember numbers and letters.
Second and in particular reference to Outlook, would I be able to get and send emails from Outlook with the account currently set up for [email protected], or do I have to reconfigure Outlook to treat the name preserved under the domain purchase as a new account, and set up a new account in Outlook for the same email name after I purchase the domain to retain the alias email. In other words can I continue to send and received without any further modification to my existing account as it is now set up in Outlook.
By the way, Verizon has driven me to this. I would be perfectly happy keeping the DSL if it worked, but I can't continue to support a non-working DSL line to the tune of $75.00 (phone line plus dsl service), with such absolutely horrible support. I really would like to try the home fusion service but am not yet convinced I should due to all of the reports about the low caps, phantom data usage, and intermittent service from some.

I was really hoping they would do it that way. I mean why have to create the wheel twice. When they update ACR LR uses it just like Bridge and Photoshop and Elements. And, I do mean uses the ACR plug-in, just copy it to a LR folder and you are updated. Is this what they did? Or, do we have two things to download from Adobe when they add new camera support? Please log off and log back in to your machine and the issue should be resolved automatically. In case that does not work, please manually run the msi installer posted here (may require reboot).

I had the same issue and managed to solve it.
Go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Then in the account information tab, at the bottom should be outgoing mail server (SMTP) and click the drop down box
Mine had a few different servers in it so i went into edit SMPT server list. Click advanced and it will tell you which ones are going from which email address.
Delete the ones you dont want, and it should work or instead of deleting click use only this server, i imagine that will work to

Has anyone found a way to keep Verizon Email with old dial-up service

When I moved a few years ago I cancelled my version DSL and went to a low cost monthly dial up service, so I could keep my email. The monthly fee has now gone up a whopping $10.00 extra per month. I was told to get a Verizon domain service, but found out that since I was switched to a dail-up plan I can not get the Verizon domain yearly service. I am very frustrated and spent over 3 hours yesterday trying to get some answers, I have had my email address for over 15 years and would hate to change it. I would love to know if anyone has a solution, or to get a response from verizon. Everyone I talk to on the phone is very nice and pleasant but, is clueless on how to help me.

It's not that they cant allow the domain option for dial up users. It's the company is to big and bureaucratic. No one is truly interested in customer service enough to effect a change. Instead the employees dont want to rock the boat.
