Keep my user info

I hope this is the place to post this problem. In BB Bridge mode OS 2.1.0.1032. When receiving a LinkedIn alert in my mailbox, if I follow a link, the browser opens and LinkedIn always ask to identify myself. It won't keep my user info. The problem is that it used to work properly before updating the OS. Any suggestions?

How is our CustomRealm supposed to find our user info?

We keep our user info in EJBs. Custom realms can't use EJBs, so we've been
told to access them directly through JDBC. The problem is that we don't
know where the EJB data source is pointed so we don't know where to look for
our user info. Is there some trick to this? Some way to tell WebLogic
where our EJBs will be so that our custom realm can go look there?

I'll share our ideas at this point, maybe someone can help us pick a winner:
1. Make a custom realm that fails until our EJBs and data source are
available, then starts working. The documentation says that the caching
realm will check the custom realm first, then the basic realm. This seems
like the solution with the least administrative overhead. I'm testing this
idea right now.
2. Keep a separate database/file/whatever synchronized with our EJBs for the
custom realm to use. This raises the synchronization issues, and I'm not
sure where we'd put the file/database/whatever. We make a tool that creates
enterprise apps (deployed as EARs), so we like solutions that are easy for
our users to deploy.
3. Create a custom realm bean that knows where our data source is going to
be. Then the custom realm can use JDBC to connect to our actual EJB
database and get info from there. This is WebLogic's suggestion, if I
understand their WebSupport folks properly. The downside is that the user
has to set up a datasource for our EJBs and fill in a property on our
custom realm bean.
Any other suggestions?
Any info on why these wouldn't work?

I assume that a custom realm (or any realm implementation) is analogous toa
startup class, and will be instantiated before any EJBs, and will apply to
the entire server, regardless of the EJB and Web application deploymentson
it. (I'm assuming that the user data is stored in a RDBMS.) This means
that:
(a) Eric's problem will prevent flexibility in deploying the EJBs, which
breaks one of the advantages of J2EE
(b) The need for connection pooling infrastructure is duplicated: the
RDBMSRealm sample gets JDBC connections directly
(c) The need for the realm to create users conflicts with the use of EJBsto
manage User entities (normally used in one form or another in J2EE
applications). For example, the RDBMSRealm needs to be able to create rows

entity can't "manage" this table. I see that in the new
Girdley/Woollen/Emerson book's sample application, there are two tables,
one managed by the user entity, and one managed by the RDBMSRealm. Tocreate
a user, the app first creates an entity, and if that works, adds a user toa
realm. This means that user data is duplicated (and there isn't even any
enforced referential integrity between these tables in the database).
Am I missing something, or has anyone been able to find an elegantsolution
to these problems?
I can see why the architecture might work the way in does, but this whole
problem makes me wonder whether standard J2EE form-based security with the
j_security_check action is very useful. Wouldn't implementing a customlogin
action that does the entity bean lookup and calls
ServletAuthentication.weak(user, pwd, request) be less trouble and avoid
fighting the entity bean? The problem would be how to handle permissions.

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Why won't PE9 load up user info?

I'm having problems getting PE9 to load up. The gathering user info bar never changes. It just keeps "gathering". If I click on the new or open project buttons it takes 5 minutes to load if it loads at all. I uninstalled PE9 and re-installed it. Still having the same problems. Do I need to manually put my user info in?

One likely cause of issues would be an update/hot-fix to Vista (do you have those set to the default of automatic?) breaking your video (and/or audio) drivers. Per the suggestions in that linked article, I would update both from their mfgr's. Web sites. Do not trust Windows, or any utility to tell you if you have the very latest drivers. Those recommendations will probably be 6 mos. out of date, and of little to no use.
If nothing in that article helps, then I suggest posting the full system specs., as outlined in this ARTICLE.

Restoring Old User Info and programs

Hi, I just got my macbook back from repair and the harddrive is wiped clean...had to start over with new user name and registration.
Before I sent it away (again), I backed up my user profile on a firewire drive.
How do I properly re-install this old user information?
Can I still install and use all my new programs saved in old User?
What do I need to be careful of?
Old User info is in 10.4.7---clean Mac back from repair in 10.4.6
If someone could give me a step-by-step sort of reply or point me in the direction of a support article I'd really appreciate it.

All the info you need is contained in this kbase article, but there is one item from this article that is somewhat out of date....
When you get to the section of the article that describes the 2 commands to use in Terminal, use this single one instead:
<pre style="overflow:auto; font-family: 'Monaco'; font-size: 10px">chown -R username:username /Users/username</pre>
In the above command, you will replace all instances of "username" with your own short name. So, if your short name is "fred," for example, you will type the following exactly:
<pre style="overflow:auto; font-family: 'Monaco'; font-size: 10px">chown -R fred:fred /Users/fred</pre>
Otherwise, follow all the directions for "manually" restoring your HOME folder.
Keep in mind that this will not reinstall applications that you had installed before. It will, however, restore all of the settings and data for those applications. Once you have reinstalled the applications, themselves, you will be right back where you were.

So I made some slight changes on my MB Wh w/Osx Lion.; made changes in 'User/Info/Perm'. Now I'm Stuck @ StartUp w/the grey window w/apple logo.
Attempted to repair permissions & 'repaired disk' in DU. So from there in detail please, then what???
Note: I have no recent or any backup, no install cd, nor the orig install disk. Acquired this 2nd or 3rd hand.

Sorry me again w/ the MacBook Wh/2009 & Osx Lion "stuck at grey screen" issue. So I did as advised, but it shows the Recovery Hd, but it says it's locked? Now what should I do???

I keep getting ' user not register for online ' when trying to get track names for my CD imports for Windows 7 and I'm unable to find a solution.

I can't be certain exactly which steps are going to be needed in each case, but if you work through this in sequence hopefully one of the steps will prove effective.
First try this:
With iTunes closed.
Press the WinLogoKey+R
Type in %appdata% and press return
Double click on Apple Computer
Double click on iTunes
Delete the file CD Info.cidb
Start iTunes and try again.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and try deleting com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist in the same folder.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and try deleting iTunesPrefs.xml. This will reset your some of your preferences in iTunes so be sure to check them and reset as required.
If that still hasn't resolved things close iTunes and try deleting the entire %appdata%\Apple Computer folder or look for parallel files/folders in the C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local or C:\Users\<User>\AppData\LocalLow in case a corrupt file is persisting there.
Note that any iOS device backups are stored in the MobileSync folder within Apple Computer. Once things are working you should backup your devices again as soon as possible.
Or it might not be the preference files after all...

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know where i can change the user info (name & email address) selected by default on the Error Report that is sent when an app crashes?
It always keeps coming to a secondary email i have, even though it's not the default email address to compose messages in Mail.App nor is it the first one on my user card in address book.
Any thoughts?

are you using webdav? your error looks like a known bug if you are working with 10.1.4+ portal. but i am not sure if the symptoms exactly match or not. Have you seen the following Metalink Note?

That's not the correct port. It should be 993 for incoming.
If you signed into iCloud from the System Preferences, it should automatically create the iCloud account for you in Mail. Sounds like it is an account you already had set up for MMe in Mail.
Open Mail preferences, open the Accounts tab, disable that account in the advanced pane.
Open Sys Prefs, open the iCloud tab, and sign out of iCloud. Then sign back in and see if a new iCloud account is automatically created.

Getting the User Info while Invoking the Process

    We have created few processes and are working fine.. Now we got a new request to enable the Site Minder authentication for each request. In our project the LiveCycle process is getting invoked from a Flex code via SOAP end point. Flex application is authenticating the request by reading the info from the request object sent by the Site Mider. Is there a way in LiveCycle process to read information from the browser request object? Our application is not linked with LDAP. We wanted to know the user id that was passed as part of the Site Minder authentication and use it in the rest of the services.

         Thank you for your reply. What you are saying is, the Parent app which is invoking the LiveCycle process needs to read the Request object and then pass the user info to the LiveCycle process.
         So we do not have a way to read the browser cookie information from the LiveCycle process. Just want to confirm..
