Hi there,
i am new to crystal so please bare with me.
I have a field which displays a part number and a running total on the qty on hand. I wish to only display one record when the running total reaches a negative figure. See below on how the data looks like.
ABC(PART ID)    4
ABC    2 (WISH TO SUPRESS)
ABC    0 (WISH TO SUPRESS)
ABC    -2   (ONLY WISH TO DISPLAY THE RECORD WHEN THE PART(ABC OR DBD) GOES NEGATIVE AND ONLY SHOW THAT RECORD.
ABC    -4   (I WISH TO SUPRESS RECORDS APART FROM THE FIRST RECORD THAT GOES NEGATIVE)
DBD    6
DBD    3
DBD    0

You'll probably need variables so you can look at the value before you subtract the quantity from it. It's not clear to me from your example where the initial quantity comes from.
Basically your formula needs to do this:
IF the current balance is positive and subtracting the new transacation does not make it negative then just subtract
IF the current balance is positive and subtractine the new transaction makes it negative then subtract and set print flag to YES
IF the current balance is negative then set the print flag to NO
Use a Print suppress formula that loks at the print flag variable.

Can anyone help me with the following script logic scenario...
We have an account with $$ and wish to spread it accross the remaing months of another scenario.
For example, In 2012.Jan, we have an Actual amount = 10,000. Also, 2012.Jan Forecast = 5,000.
I need to take the difference -5,000 and push it into Forecast 2012.Feb, 2012.Mar, ... 2012.Dec and spread it evenly (-454.55).

Two caveats is that data must always reside in the ACTUAL category. Since the logic is looping through every record in the ACTUAL category. Also, all the other data must be at the same intersection or else the GET statement will be looking in the wrong place. i.e. DataSrc for the Actuals and Forecast has to be at the INPUT member or else you would need specify where the data is for forecast category in the GET statement.

Many thanks for your reply. We just brought Adobe Acrobat XI Pro complete
with Adobe Forms Central, My manager asked whether I could use the forms
part to create a summary tracking sheet for all of our contracts.
Having looked at it I could see how to create a table that in the first
column deleted costs from a starting fund, and in the last keeps a running
total of all monies spent.
I agree, Excel does seem to be much better suited to the task. I was try

Associate a record name with a running total in Report Footer

I have a report that returns records for the most recent order recieved by vendor.
The page header displays Vendor, Contact, Order #, and date
I did a group by Vendor
I used a running total on the order date
with a summary of minimum
that evaluates on change of group
Reset never
This returns the last order date for the vendor with the oldest order
How can I get the vendors name that is associated with the oldest order date to display in the Rport Footer.

Please follow the following steps: I tested it and it works.You dont need to use running total.
1. Add the Vendor,Contact,Order #, Order Date to Details Section (u can delete them if not needed from details section)
2. Create a Group on Vendor.
3. Add a Summary i.e. Minimum(Order Date)
4. Copy this summary to Group Header if you want or just let it be in the Group Footer Section
5. Add a SubReport in the Report Footer Section.
6.The Subreport Should be based on the Command like:
SELECT `Orders`.`Customer ID`, `Orders`.`Order Date`
FROM `Orders` `Orders`
WHERE `Orders`.`Order Date`=
SELECT MIN(`Orders`.`Order Date`)
FROM `Orders` `Orders`)
7. Refresh the Report and you will see that Report Footer section displays all the vendors with minimum order date along with their name.
One more thing to keep in mind is that more than one vendor might have the same minimum order date.

Running Total Issue: How to calculate counts excluding suppressed records

Hello All:
I have a current report that gives the total counts of work requests. However, in my section expert, there are some records in the detail that are suppressed (if there isn't any backlog). The current running totals are counting all the records including the suppressed records. I think I need three formulas:1. Calculate the counts2. Calculate the counts excluding suppressed records3. Reseting the counts by group
May I ask if someone can give me an example of what I should do?

Actually, I should have been more specific. This report is actually a PM backlog report. It displays all the work requests (PM) issued including the backlogged. There are 9 columns (including one called Backlog) for the different counts of the pm's based from the status codes (Issued, Material on Order, Completed, Cancelled, etc) of the work requests. The detail records of worke requests are grouped by shop and PM end date. The running totals are calculated at the pm date group level (group footer#2). Then based from those at the shop group level (group footer#1) there is a grand total of counts of the running totals. The detail records and pm end date group header (group header #2) are suppressed.
Now the foremen would like the report to just display all the backlogged PMs. Using the section expert, I suppressed all the PM issued that have no back log ({@ backlog = 0}) and just display the back logged pm's. This is where I run into the running total issue.
This is very involved report and I will use the column PM Issued as an example. I can still use the same logic as you suggested?
1. declaration formula:
whileprintingrecords;numbervar pmissued := 0;
2. Suppression formula that uses the variable:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar pmissued;
if ({@ backlog = 0}) then pmissued:= pmissed else pmissued:=pmissuedr+1
3. Display formula:whileprintingrecords;

If this is the right track, then I can use the same example for the other columns.

Keeping a Running Total for Formula fields

I've been messing around for the past couple of days trying to figure out what the best approach for my problem. So here is what I'm trying to accomplish. I have multiple rows which contains sums for different columns and one of the columns contains the maximum of the sums.
For example:
ROW 1           SUM (A)             SUM(B)             SUM(C)            MAX(sum(a), sum(b), sum(c))<----
Formula Variable 1
ROW 2           SUM (A)             SUM(B)             SUM(C)            MAX(sum(a), sum(b), sum(c))<----
Formula Variable 2
ROW Total      SUM (1A2A)     SUM(1B2B)     SUM(1C+2C)     Result of Row 1 + Result of Row 2
What I did was create a formula variable that evaluates the maximum of those rows and have a summary row, that keeps a running total. I'm not sure how to store the result of that formula variable in the running total since the formula variable isn't an option to select. Does anyone have a suggestions if this is a good approach or if there's another way to approach it?

For each value you enter into scores.text, end it with a
+"\n"
as in...

Does ODI keeps the record of last run date of interface?

My requirement is I have a source table, Whatever operations performed on that (like insert,update etc) table, I want to load those records into the target table. For that I have created an Interface which runs daily at 6 PM.While loading, I have put one filter which loads only those data which got inserted/updated on current date(GETDATE()).Suppose the case, If my ODI has been down(because of any reason) since 3 days. In this case I have no option to load the records who got changed in that three days. On the fourth day I start the ODI then, how can I get data which got changed in last three days.
Is there any place where ODI keeps the record of last run date or something of interface ?
If I use CDC in that case, once the ODI down then the journalism can not able to keep the changed data info.
How can I load the changed data into the target.?

If you have a date column in source and target , I guess you might be having a you are using date , you can use a filter and write the expression like this
Source_date > (select max(date_created/update) from schema.target_table)
I have validated this expression and it validated by ODI , I did not try running it , please give it a shot

How to create a loop to run total of records for before and after unconstant date

Here is the data sample:
ID period code date
1 00 I    01/01/1999
1 00   Z   01/02/1999
1 00 G   12/05/1999
1 00 M   01/01/2000
There are many students with many periods and many codes. I need to save a date when code = 'G' and count separateley records per student/period 2 times - before and equal that date and after that date, so in the end for period 00 I will have 2 values: 3 (before) and 1(after).
There are periods from 00 to 08. I am counting students abscencies before and after warning letter was sent (code G).
The result data should look : 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08              00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08     Total
                                            3 0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0                 1 0    0   0   0   0   0   0   0        4

Thank you for your answer, but I do care about the date the 'G' happened, because I need to reset count.
The logic behind is this:if a student absent for more than 8 times per period - the letter will be sent out to the parents , that will be code 'G' with period '-1' (it may happen that there will never be code 'G' , but I need to track all absencies). Once the letter is sent, the count starts over (the count starts over the next day after code 'G'). The absencies which happened before or the date the letter sent should count toward 'previous' abscenices, all other - absenices after the letter.
So basically I need total per period and total per period before or the day with code 'G'. Running total with reset with formula code = 'G' does not work.
I created a formula field which has global date (when code 'G' happenned) and it says if globaldate >= periodDate then date (1900,01,01) else (2100,01,01) and that formula is ok, but I can not use it in running total or can not create group on it and insert total.
Please help me with this. Thank you.

Keeping a running total

I have to create a programme in java where you input type of currency, exchange rate, amout of currency. then convert it to GBP and print the answers. This bit I have done. A loop is also needed to keep inputting amounts of the same currency and keep a running total of amount input.
The programme runs fine, and I can get the total number of transactions, but I am having problems getting the amount of currency inputted to add. I created a new variable for this but cant get it to work, it will either print out 0 or the last amount inputted, depending what I do.
Any help would be appreciated. I know its probably very simple but I have spent so long on this I think I have lost my way.

You need to create the summation variable before the loop and use it inside the loop, so that it doesn't keep getting created (and the data held in it erased) with each iteration of the loop.
If this is not clear, then post your code.

Running totals evaluate more than one criteria

probably a stupid question but:
Is there anyway to have more than one criteria in the evaluate for running totals? i need an "on change of field" option and a formula option is there a formula for "on change of field", so i can have on change of field and if not equal to.
i am using CR2011

Total jobs getting more for one record

Hi Gurus,
In the report if I filtered for one record, the result should be TOTAL job scheduled(Key Figure-ZITSCKF) = 1 but since I modified the record for 3 times on different DATES(Character - ZIBFDCH) it is showing as TOTAL job scheduled = 3.
In update rules I mapped the DSO object (ZIBFDCH) to Info Cube object (ZITSCKF), I written a formulae that--- IF( IS_INITIAL( /BIC/ZIBFDCH ), 1, 0 ).
Please help me regarding this issue, points will be assigned.

Hi Kiran,
sice you have multiple modifications dates, what i think is, create intenal table sort baced on dates and read only one value for the combination of key fields like..DATES(Character - ZIBFDCH), DSO object (ZIBFDCH). so that one records for key combination will be updated to data target.

Remove double records during data upload from one InfoCube to another

Dear Experts
We have transactional financial data available in an InfoCube including cummulated values by period . Some companys have 12 reporting periods (0FISCPER3) and some companys have 16 periods (but all 16 periods are not always filled) . The data must be prepared for a consolidation system which expects only 12 periods. Therefore I bulit up a routine with the following logik:
If period > 12, result = 12, else result = source field.
But as the data target is (must be) an InfoCube the new values with reporting period 12 are not overwritten, but summarised instead. This means the original records with period 12 and the new records - see example:
Records before transformation:
Period   Amount
12          100
13           120
Records after transformation in the InfoCube:
Period   Amount
12          100
12           120
This would lead to the following aggregation:
Period   Amount
12          240
But as the values per period are cummulated, the consolidation system only needs the last period. So there should be only one record left in the InfoCube:
Period   Amount
12           120
Is it possible to delete dublicate records or do you have any other idea to to keep only the record with the last period (e.g. period 13) and to assign the value 12?

Hi,
You have two options here, you can put DSO in between the Datasource and infocube, and load the delta using the change log.
Second is use delete the overlapping request from the infocube, it will delete the previuos requests and load the new request.

Running Totals, formula statement works one way, not the other

Here is the problem in a nutshell...
I am designing a report where I am using 2 running totals based on whether a SQL Stored Proc dataset field (text) is Null or Not Null... So I design the 2 running totals and put this code in each "Evaluate"
IsNull({usp_rpt_RemediationData;1.Action})
- and -
NOT IsNull({usp_rpt_RemediationData;1.Action})
The FIRST one works. The SECOND one does not - that is, it does not add a count for it.
In other words, I am just cycling through a table and counting 1 field, checking whether its Null, or not.
Why doesnt this rather simple and straight forward thing work!!!!????
Any help would be most appreciated.

The statement...
NOT IsNull({usp_rpt_RemediationData;1.Action})
DID NOT work when used as part of a running total - even adding the check for blank instead of just null (though the field is truly null).
However, using the EXACT same statement in a formula written for running totals - it does work...? Go figure... I cant explain it.

There are different ways to do this but a very simple and easy way is with Dropbox. Home - Dropbox
This app puts a folder on each mac (or iOS device) you have and syncs the folders with a folder online. When you finish working with a document and save it, it will sync on all your devices.
iCloud will do the same but not with all kinds of documents, only with certain Apple apps.
There are also third party apps that will sync folders over your local network.
I use dropbox.
