Keep Option to avoid splitting 2-line headings?

I am trying to avoid splitting 2-line headings when using split columns.
I tried to use "Keep Lines Together", but it does not have any effect - the heading still appears with line 1 at the bottom of column 1 and line 2 at the top of column 2. I have selected "All Lines in Paragraph". How do I avoid splitting the heading???

Actually, the difference between a bug and a limitation is whether or not it works as designed.
Design is not necessary the way it SHOULD work. Sometimes design is the way it has to work because of whatever reason (most often lack of development resources) -- even if it's recognised as not being ideal or even "correct".
I'm pretty sure that this falls into the latter category. I believe that the InDesign team made the correct decision to include this feature although it is crippled. The lacking features only affect long docs, and only in certain applications. For newspapers, it works very well as-is.

Splitting the Line items in Transaction LB02........

Hi Frnds,
            I would like to know how to proceed further....afetr entering into standard transaction LB02, the user wants to split the line items depending on the quantity what he has enterd in the custom screen which i developed.
           Here am able to get the data in background necessary to goto standard transaction. After entering into the standard transaction how to split the line items.
Functional Requirement
In the screen, which i developed...
The user enters material no...
-->Matl qty & matl desc will be displayed....
-->Then user enters the bin no.   and the qty he wants to keep in that particular bin.
-->Here depending on the qty the user has entered it has to reflect in the Tcode LB02.
-->For example, total qty displayed in the custom screen after entering the matl no. is 20 From this qunatity, the user enters the quantity as 10 which is not GE to that qty (20) which we got from database.
-->Now this has to be replicated in the standard transaction in such a way that..the line items should also split according to the qty the user enters.......it may be upto n no. of line items.....and the bin no. should also be entered into the stnd Tcode LB02 at the unloading point field......

Managed to find an Enhancement Point in the Standard SAP Code and hence the Issue is resolved.

Turning off Keep Options in InDesign CS5

I'm having a real nightmare with Keep Option in ID CS5.
I was hoping I could use them to stop orphans but they seem to create them unnecessarily.
I turned on some Keep Options in my style sheet for my body text and I couldn't get them to work the way I wanted.
Now I just want to turn all the Keep Options off and have the text flow normally - when it reaches the end of the text frame to go to the next regardless of where it is in the paragraph.
So I have all the Keep Options turned off in the Paragraph Style Sheet and the lines are still breaking too early.
Is this a bug?

Hello Jongware, I take your point that the Keep Options in the Paragraph Styles is pretty self explanatory and I have to admit to causing some of the confusion myself.
But to prevent widows and orphans selecting "Keep Lines Together", then filling in 2 in the "At Start/End of paragraph" Start and End lines, unfortunately breaks 3 or 4 line paragraphs at the beginning of pages.
(I read somewhere that widows are at the top of pages/columns; orphans at the bottom).
Also I find the Keep Options dialogue box from the Paragraph palette rather confusing:
The "Keep with Previous" with a check box followed by an indented "Keep with Next" just throws me!
But thanks to you and everyone else, I pretty much get it now.

Keeping text together (on a single line) in pages 09

I apologize if a solution for this has been posted...
I am having trouble keeping certain pieces of text constrained to one line. They are invariably pieces of text containing symbols.
For instance, let's say
S/N
shows up as the last word on a line. In some cases, it splits so that it looks like this in the document:
S/
N
(i.e., the N goes to the next line). This actually happens for several words with symbols in them. For instance:
S?N
becomes
S?
N
I have seen this with: ! $ % + , but not many of the other "symbols".
So in fact, these particular ones are behaving like hyphens!
I am not sure why anyone would want such splits to occur - anyhow to the question:
Is there a way to keep S/N on the same line without resorting to margin changes or other such things?

You can beat this by being cunning. Change your sentence so that S/N is not at the end of a line. Especially useful if changes to the page margins (perhaps if you convert the file for Word users to read) will keep S/N safely in the middle of the line.

How to split a line item to 2 line item.

I have a request, help me please !
In system I have a invoice with 1 line item value 1000 USD.
Customer payment 600$. a incoming payment with value 600$ will post to system.
I want incoming payment and invoice will auto clear 600$ but system can't auto clearing because value is not Identical.
I want line item of invoice will split to 2 line item. Line item 1 value 600$ and line item 2 value 400$.
Line item 1 of invoice will auto clear with incoming payment and system will exist a invoice with 1 line item value 400$.
How to split a line item to 2 line item ? Have FM for split a line item to 2 line item in SAP ?

Acrobat X: Anyone know if there is an option to hide the dotted line in between pages when viewing in 2 page view? So that the 2 pages can look seemlessly joined, with no gap and no dotted line? This would be useful when viewing PDF magazines or books in which 2 pages join for a larger picture.

Application item values can be set from JavaScript using AJAX and an On-Demand Process.Yes I already tried ajax with ODP, my getappitem() function works but my setappitem() function won't assign value to application item, but it's not a problem now, I removed the ajax part and I will use page items :D

Oracle 11g: Split a line string in a set of two-points-line

I have a single 2-D linestring with about 100 points.
Does someone know a technic to "split" that line in an adajacent set of lines composed of 2 points only?

The inner selects can be made simpler and more performant I believe using the with clause, but it should work.

Splitting the line in on Audigy

I have been working on interfacing my Audigy and ATI 9600 All in Wonder cards with my Sony DE-685 (a home theater 5. surround system. I have 500 LP's from the 60's and 70's to archi've and have been struggling with getting my connections just right. A couple of "pros" have come out and the results have been less than satisfying. I have been hitting the forums and documentation and have made progress.
Here is what I am looking for and it involves two issues: : finding the best place to connect the turntable (the Sony has no phono, just an AUX....my new turntable has a preamp which helps), and 2: the inability to hear the music as I record it. A Best Buy Geek split the line in and ran the ATI /8" line there (where it has to go) and a line in from turntable. That sort of worked but not well. The last guy ran the turntable into the MIC line in which I doubt is set up for the kind of sound I want. I don't know and can't find a post on that. It works and I can SEE my recording on Goldwave and Magix, but I can't hear anything. (This last guy also used the wrong type of cable from the digital out to my Sony digital in...he also had an analog out to my Sony; there aren't lots of people around here who do this, obviously. I fixed those yesterday (slow learner, folks:smileyvery-happy. I am thinking that splitting the line in is probably causing a conflict and that I have some setting wrong on the card that is not letting me hear while recording. I suspect I need to run the turntable into AUX and figure out what setting is wrong on the sound card.
Sorry for the long post, but I hope the info will sound familiar to someone who has been here.

Thanks for the reply. I am working to convert the LP's to digital format for archiving, not just for listening. I am using the ATI All In Wonder 9600 for video (VHS, etc) editing and conversion for burning to DVD. ATI requires the /8th" stereo plug in there wiring block to go directly into the Audigy line in. I can build a great computer but struggle with interfacing the Sony with the cards. I have had two paid "experts" (this isn't a big place and very few people are doing what I am trying to do) who made serious errors in connections. I found these, of course, after they had gone and I started trying to work. I have run the turntable with preamp into AUX, TAPE, ect. Using Goldwave and Magix I cannot get enough record level. Last night I ran the turntable into a Radio Shack pre-amp and THEN in AUX. Using the pre-amp (guess the turntable preamp just doesn't have the juice?)"What You Hear" I had beaucoup record level. I was starting to get better results when I got chased off to bed around midnight by the old lady!
One thing that has helped is to blow up all three manuals up to 8 x 0 and put them in 3-ring binders...the full manuals downloaded in pdf form. I can flip back and forth a lot faster. That has helped me undo several of the serious errors my last "expert" introduced. So, I hope that clarifies why and what I am trying to do. Building a computer is a piece of cake compared to this, or has been for me. Thanks for you patience.

Then you set the DisplayMemberPath of the ComboBox to the name of one property and bind the Text property of the TextBlock to the other one:

Split the lines in SLA

Hi,
We are using Project Accounting, Fixed Assets and General Ledger on 12.1.3 platform. When we capitalize the asset and generate asset lines, we send the information to Fixed Assets from where the accounting entries get posted to General Ledger through sub ledger accounting. We are using a secondary ledger that has project, expenditure type, task as additional segments.
We've a requirement of sending the accounting information from Fixed Assets to the secondary ledger whenever we send accounting entries (mainly additiona/adjustments) to General Ledger. We are configuring sub ledger accounting to achieve this.
Typically an asset contains many asset lines. When we generate and asset lines in project accounitng we group the lines at the task and expenditure type and send the asset lines to Fixed Assets. The problem is that when we run create accounting in Fixed Assets, the credit side is working fine but the debit side is causing problem because the cost is getting summarized at the asset cost account. I'm wondering if there is a way to split the lines. More detailed example is below
Asset A : Test Asset
Line : 1 Amount : 100 Project : 1 Task : A Exp Type : X
Line : 2 Amount : 120 Project : 1 Task : A Exp Type : Y
Line : 3 Amount : 100 Project : 1 Task : B Exp Type : X
When i send these lines to sub ledger accounting, i see three lines in the create accounting but the debit side, i see only one line for $320. I want to post three entries for the debit side as well. Is there a way to acheive this?

Check whether your debit side JLT is having Merge Matching Lines as Yes in JLT screen.
