Keep photos old photos from deleting when sincing new ones

My ipod has pictureson it but when I want to add new file delete pictures already there and I wanted to keep those.   Then when I download the old file new one is gone.    Help

You can only sync one folder of photos to the iPod. If you then select another folder, the photos in the first folder are then deleted from the iPod.
What you can do is add subfolders to the one syncing folder. You can have one level of subfolders in the one syncing folder.  Just add the new photos as a subfolder in the one syncing folder.

If it's not too late, see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. As long as you have a backup of the device when the device still held your photos you should stand a chance of recovering them using a tool such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

  • Photos delete when copying new ones

I'm a newbie, and am having trouble copying photos to my iPod. During the transfer process, the words 'deleting photos' flash on the computer screen, before the new file is copied. After the transfer is complete, I check the iPod and find only the newly transferred/copied photos exist! Where did the other ones go? How can I prevent this from happening each time? We are leaving on a cruise next week and I need to get this figured out since I'm planning on copying the photos from my camera's memory stick (I purchased a camera connector).

Sounds like you are syncing to a different directory each time.
Keep all the photos you want to keep on the iPod in the same directory and/or subdirectory.
    For example:
    C:\photos
    C:\photos\roll1
    C:\photos\roll2
This will keep all photos in each directory.

  • Previous text messages deleting when getting new ones

Since updating to iOS7 I have been having problems with text messges.  I sent a link from Safari to my daughter and it deleted all previous messages between us.  My husband sent an imessage to me this morning and all prior messages from him deleted as well.  Help is it a setting I need to change?

Are you sure you didn't just send the message to a different address for the same person, or to an address that isn't listed in the same contact as your other messages from the same person?
If you scroll to the very top of the current message window, is there a "Load Earlier Messages" link that shows the messages you're missing after tapping it?

  • Help please.connected my current iphone to i tunes it syncd old contacts from previous job to new phone and deleted all my new ones,

    Help please.
Connected my current iphone to i tunes. it syncd old contacts from previous job and previous phone to new phone and deleted all my new ones. tried to do back up from earlier restore in i tunes but there only seem to be back ups from my old phone not the new one prior to its first sync...

thanks for your reply and input but, Im not sure if it was former or latter that I did, however I do know that I named this latest i phone differently and would have been OK with and expected expected old contacts to be added to the new ones I have recently added directly onto the new phone since I have had it rather than just the old one. I did try the undue/ unsync  but this just seemed to remove all the old backed up ones just added leaving contacts empty? Clearly its my error, but what can be done to restore setting back to time before I connected today?  earlier reset points on itunes show as 2 years ago and relate to old phone.

  • I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?

I deleted my old email address and added a new one, after my iPhone died iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password of my old email address. I can't remember my password and the account is still gone, it pops up every few seconds. How can I fix this?

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • Podcasts deleted from iPhone4 when download new podcasts on the phone

download podcasts both on computer and iPhone, occasionallt the existing podacasts are deleted when a new podcast is downloaded.
Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed? There's never any issue on sync between device and computer.
Would having 2 Apple id's accounts having anything to do with it? ... Different countries.
    Thanks.

In iTunes go to Podcasts > Settings > Episodes to keep... Did this get changed to Most recent episode?

  • TS4002 stop email from deletion when deleted on another device

how to stop email from deletion when deleted on another device.

With IMAP - the email protocol the iCloud uses - the messages live on the server and are read from there by your devices. Think of it as being like webmail and it makes sense. Therefore when your wife deletes a message she is actually deleting it from the server, which is why you see it as deleted. You can't alter this; it's inherent in the system.
The only workaround is to sort out a method whereby emails don't get deleted until both of you have seen them - for example she could move them to another folder and you could then read them there and delete them (so their presence in that folder always means that the other person has seen them).

  • I set up my new computer using the apple ID i always use, and then later migrated all my files from my old mac book to the same new one, but under a different user (same ID). how do i consolidate the two users on my new mac book?

i set up my new computer using the apple ID i always use, and then later migrated all my files from my old mac book to the same new one, but under a different user (same apple ID). how do i consolidate the two users on my new mac book?

Well if you use the Finder Go menu to Computer, a window opens up double click on your boot drive and then on Users folder, open the other user folder and open Public and drop your files into DropBox
When you do this it will copy them and change the permissions and user assigned to it, so log into the other user and place them into your respective normal folders.
Once you have all your files over and don't need the old user, use System Preferences > Accounts to delete it if you wish, however it's good two Admin accounts on the machine in case something bad happens in the other. Some people for security reasons on use a Standard account for most uses and a emergency Admin account.
One can still do most Admin things in Standard user.

  • Hello, i was wondering why itunes retains all old backups of ipad/ipone... is thier a way of overwritting the backups when a new one is created ?

Hello, i was wondering why itunes retains all old backups of ipad/ipone... is thier a way of overwritting the backups when a new one is created ?

    That is covered here:
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
What kind of photos are you talking about?
Ones in the iPod's Camera Roll album are included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes. Photos synced to the iPod or not and they are not in your iTunes library either. You have to back those up separately.
Also the iPod backup that iTunes makes is not included in your iTunes library. It location is listed here:
iTunes: About iOS backups. So back that up too.

  • Software Update Server - Deleting old updates to make space for new ones

On Page 77 of the SystemImage_and_SW_Updatev10.4.pdf Apple recommends "deleting old updates to make space for new ones". I've looked and searched and yet to find a way to do this. The Server Admin interface and the command line options I've looked into don't appear to provide this option.
So I actually tried stopping the server, moving the updates from /usr/share/swupd/html to another location, starting the server, the server wouldn't start, moving the files back again, the server still won't start.
    1. Does anyone know how you're supposed to "Delete old updates to make space for new ones"
    2. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get Software Update service running again?
