Keep sent mails copies in server with yahoo plus account

Hi.
I would like to know how can I keep a copy of all my sent mails in the yahoo server with a yahoo plus pop mail account using mac mail or entourage 2004.
Thanks for the help

In Mail, you need to go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced and deselect (uncheck) the box labeled "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message:". Then close the window and you should be set. As for Entourage, don't even think about that; it's a typical piece of MS garbage that you don't need to use.

  • Mac Mail with yahoo plus account difficultly  with account reconditions and outgoing serving sending problems

    I'm not exactly a techy.  I have been having real trouble using YAHOO and now YAHOO PLUS with service useing the MAC MAIL application.  This problem started a few weeks back in LION OS and I had apple support and the guys at the genuess bar give it shot and they always improved things but the problem persisted. I had apple care as recently as last night.  After I got of the phone with the gentlemen I started having problems with the outgoing servier again. We even looked into the keychain for problems.  This morning I downloaded OS 10.8 and MAIL is running better but yahoo is still buggy.  Often either the password is not reconized or the outgoing mail can not be sent from the yahoo server.  If I directly to yahoo.com and use their site I don't have this problem so it must be either a compadablity problem.

    It can't be a software conflict, because Mail is only connecting to a mail server for Yahoo!, so there's no software conflict to be had.
    Your profile says you're running 10.4.1, and the latest release of Tiger is 10.4.11; is there some reason you haven't updated to that version yet? By doing so, it will also update Mail to correct any bugs or security flaws that could be causing this problem.
    Even if that's not the problem, you should try opening Mail while holding down the Shift key. Then Control-click in an empty area of your mailbox list pane and select Get Info from the contextual menu. A window will open and you should use the popup menu to select that Yahoo! Mail account and see if it will connect and tell you how many messages are there, and you should be able to download them from that window.
    If that doesn't work, post back with your Yahoo! account settings for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

  • Can I change the smtp server with Yahoo push account?

    My yahoo email account will send and receive over EDGE using the default yahoo mail settings. On my home Cox internet WiFi network I can retrieve messages but cannot send. When sending it says it was sent and makes the "swooshing" mail sent sound, but the message disappears. It does not appear in the "sent" folder or "drafts" folder either. No error message is returned.
    I suspect this is related to Cox blocking the smtp server, but the iPhone does not allow me to change the smtp settings on the default yahoo account. Does anyone know how to do this? I can set it up manually for POP access, but then I'm flooded with spam.

    No, you cannot change the SMTP server on the Yahoo push account.
    Yahoo push only works if you configure your account using the Yahoo! Mail shortcut on the iPhone, and that shortcut does not allow for ANY customization.

  • How do i leave a copy off sent emails on the server with mac mail

    How do i leave a copy off sent emails on the server with mac mail.
    Pop account

    Check your mail preferences. The example below is from the mail app that comes with mac. In my case I'm using yahoo mail which is a POP3 account. POP stands for post office protocol which is the set of rules used by a POP mail account to transfer mail. You can learn more about it here if interested. If the box below is checked, all the mail will be downloaded to your computer when you check your mail using the built in mail app and removed from the mail server. Here is another page to help you set up your hotmail account for use the the mac mail application. Hope this clears things up.

  • Sent mail mailbox not created with IMAP account

    Hello,
    I have an old PBG4 running Tiger that i use as a shop/travel/etc. 2nd mac.  I have 4 mail accounts. I set them up ( successfully) all the time on various macs and windows machines.
    But now something's changed... 3 of my accounts are fine.  The 4th shows no "this account" airplane icon mail folder under "sent" int he left hand pane.  i even deleted it, re-created it, and its STILL not there. Mail is also not stored to the IMAP server. Yes, in the tab it says "save sent mail to the server..."
    At the bottom of the left hand mailbox pane, the "this account" set of mailboxes does appear with a little world/beach-ball to it left. There is a sent mail box there, but it does nto have any (recent) mail in it - just older sent items.
    I'm flummoxed. Any idea what is going on?  While you're at it, what's the difference between the mailboxes at the *top* and the duplicate at the bottom?
    TIA!
    Grant

    So, VFEMail doesn't show up under sent, but has a Sent box within it below?
    I wonder if you quit Mail andin the Finder make a copy of say...
    /Users/YourUsersName/Library/Mail/[email protected]@imap.gmail.com/[Gmail]/Sent Mail.imapmbox and dragged it to
    /Users/YourUsersName/Library/Mail/[email protected]@imap.VFEmail.com/[Gmail]/
    If that'd work?
    Hmmm, did we try this yet?
    Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
    Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
    Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
    Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

    I send mail via SMTP server with Hebrew text, and I get it gibberish on my iphone

    What mail program from what kind of computer are you sending your email?  It sounds like an encoding problem that would have to be solved on the sending end.   If you want, send me an example of the kind of email which arrives as gibberish on your iphone (tom at bluesky dot org).

  • Send mail to exchange server with TLS

    Hi,
    last month I enabled an oracle wallet TDE for creating encription for TS.
    Today, development team needs to send mail to exchange server with TLS.
    So I found this procedure on oracle support Doc ID 1323140.1
    My question is, can I use the same wallet to send mails from db?
    The Oracle Database  11.2.0.3
    Or I need to implement a different type of wallet with certificate?
    Is there, in this case,  a procedure step by step?
    I have never implemented that and I'm very confused....
    Thanks in advanced

    Hi, I have implemented a new wallet with certificates (for test SMTP.gmail.com) and i'm tryied to use this procedure:
    DECLARE
    mailhost VARCHAR2(64) := 'smtp.mydomain.it';
    sender VARCHAR2(64) := '[email protected]';
    recipient VARCHAR2(64) := '[email protected]';
    wallet_pwd VARCHAR2(64) := 'welcome1';
    wallet_loc VARCHAR2(64) := 'file:/etc/ORACLE/FRMSSYST/SMTP/';
    user_name VARCHAR2(64) := 'HDC021319';  -- alias for '[email protected]'
    user_pwd VARCHAR2(64) := 'password';  -- password of [email protected]
    mail_connection utl_smtp.connection;
    BEGIN
    -- Make a secure connection using the SSL port configured with your SMTP server
    -- Note: The sample code here uses the default of 465 but check your SMTP server settings
    mail_connection := utl_smtp.open_connection(
    host => mailhost,
    port => 25,
    wallet_path => wallet_loc,
    wallet_password => wallet_pwd,
    secure_connection_before_smtp => FALSE);
    -- Call the Auth procedure to authorized a user for access to the mail server
    -- Schemes should be set appropriatelty for your mail server
    -- See the UTL_SMTP documentation for a list of constants and meanings
    UTL_SMTP.helo(mail_connection, mailhost);
    UTL_SMTP.STARTTLS(mail_connection);
    UTL_SMTP.AUTH(
    c => mail_connection,
    username => user_name,
    password => user_pwd,
    schemes => 'LOGIN');
    -- Set up and make the the basic smtp calls to send a test email
    utl_smtp.helo(mail_connection, mailhost);
    utl_smtp.mail(mail_connection, sender);
    utl_smtp.rcpt(mail_connection, recipient);
    utl_smtp.open_data(mail_connection);
    utl_smtp.write_data(mail_connection, 'This is a test message using SSL with SMTP.' || chr(13));
    utl_smtp.write_data(mail_connection, 'This test requires an Oracle Wallet be properly configured.' || chr(13));
    utl_smtp.close_data(mail_connection);
    utl_smtp.quit(mail_connection);
    END;
    This procedure, works fine if I try to send an email to smtp.gmail.com (I tried first with gmail with appropriate certificates), but now, when I try to send an email to the local enterprise Exchange server  I get this error:
    ERROR at line 1:

  • Mail app always starts with the standard account.

    iPhone 5s
    iOS 7.1.2
    Mail app always starts with the standard account.
    Can´t it start in the mail overview, where all different mailboxes are shown.
    iPhone 4 did it..
    Opens in standard account:
    Should open in MailBox-Overview: (here just one mailbox)
    7.1.2

    After some searching I have found a solution. I had to delete the contents of the following folder:
    ~/Library/Mail/myemailaccount/.OfflineCache/
    Note: replace "myemailaccount" with the appropriate folder on your computer that represents your e-mail account. Once I deleted the contents of this folder (there were 2 files), and restarted Mail, there were no problems.
    Hope this helps a few people in the future!

  • "Sent Messages" folder not receiving new sent mails after a server change

    My provider just moved my account to another server. The IMAP accounts needed to be re-established on my wife's PC in her program. So we know the files are all there on the new server.
    Funny thing is that it's not working on Mail on my iBook. And when these changes took place, my sidebar contents in Mail changed on me. I have sent some mail to various places since this happened, but none of these new mails have copies which are saved in my "Sent Items" or "Sent Messages" folders. So I have no record now of anything new since the change happened. I DO have copies of mail in there that are pre-change.
    I checked my preferences for mailbox behaviors, and the "Store Sent Items on the Server" is checked, so I'm not sure what's up.
    For the record I'm running OS X 10.4.7 and Mail 2.1.
    I have deleted and re-established my two email accounts in Mail in order to make them re-establish new links with the server, so I'm seeing my folders, but no new mail sent is showing up in my Sent Messages folder.
    I would appreciate if anyone knows if there could be an issue with Mail, my new host's servers, or what. It looks like a Mail issue to me, since my wife's PC is reading everything fine (and she is running Thunderbird as her client).
    Thanks!

    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    You're welcome.
    I don't think it's your fault. Different IMAP servers use different naming conventions, and the Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For command is meant to let you tell Mail which folder should be used for what purpose, but you shouldn't have to use it just to prevent your mail from being lost. At the very least, Mail should be able to use its own default Sent Messages folder without you having to do anything. I don't know why Mail fails to do this properly so often.
    Worse yet, not only does Mail sometimes fail to use the Sent Messages folder that's already there, but it doesn't even warn you that it's failing to save your sent messages as you've told it to.

  • Default Mail app not working with yahoo mail. Won't update.

    Default Maill app not working with Yahoo Mail.
    It stopped working the other day. I tried everything but it wouldn't update new mail. The yahoo account itself is fine because I can see new mail on Yahoo or a yahoo app.
    I tried deleting the account and putting it back on, but now it has 0 mail in any part of it. Nothing has synced.
    What do I do?
    iPad 2 latest OS.

    A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
    https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
    On the iPhone, tap Settings.
    Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
    Tap Add Account.
    Tap Other.
    Tap Add Mail Account.
    Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
    Click Next.
    Ensure IMAP is selected.
    Enter the following incoming mail server information:
    Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
    Username is your full email address
    Password is the same password used to access webmail.
    Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
    Username is your full email address
    Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
    Tap Next.
    The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
    That’s all!

  • How to get sent mail from Gmail server onto my mac

    I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard. When configuring Mail I used POP ( I prefer it) with my Gmail account and it tediously uploaded all my received mail from the Gmail server to my mac mail program. How do I get the sent mails on the Gmail server onto my computer?

    Not sure if this will work as I use IMAP. Go to Mail>Preferences>Accounts> click on mailbox behaviour, uncheck 'store sent messages on server' if it is checked. Then try a fetch mail and see if it works.

  • Mail app not working with Yahoo account

    I am using an iPhone 6 plus on iOS 8.1 and suddenly my Yahoo email account will not populate to my Mail app. I have deleted and re-added the account and also re-booted the phone with no luck. I get the spinning wheel up by my Wi-Fi signal that suggests it's attempting to do something, but the bottom of the Inbox only says "Updated Yesterday." Has anyone else experienced this or can someone, especially an Apple employee, tell me how to fix this?

    There is no Apple in this user to user technical forum, if you want an Apple employee you would need to take your phone to the Apple store.
    What happens when you switch to using cellular data?  Does your email update?
    FYI - Yahoo email account is notoriously bad, you can try their app.

  • IOS 8.1.1 iPhone mail app not working with Yahoo

    Since upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 8.1.1 I have been unable to access my (UK) Yahoo mail account. Following advice from other posters I have tried deleting the account, doing a hard reset and then adding the account again. Also tried different settings for Push and Fetch but all to no avail. I have an iPad2 that I have also upgraded to 8.1.1 and I can access my mail ok on this although I have noticed that one of my mail folders is showing empty despite it containing many emails when I access it directly via Yahoo mail on my Windows laptop. To get round the problem on my phone I have resorted to downloading the Yahoo! Mail app and this works 100% ok. Can anyone please throw some light on this? Thanks

    Hi, Big Alma.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I would need more information regarding what issue you are exactly experiencing with Yahoo and your iOS device to provide a better answer.  However, here is an article I would recommend going through when experiencing issues with mail.  I would also recommend checking with your email provider for security procedures such as two-step verification as this could cause this issue.
