Keep the session in LSMW

Hi
I have a problem in LSMW ..we have ECC 6.0 ..I have completed 14 steps and created a session ..i processed fore ground as well as background ...there was no errors but the session was disappered...i wanted to see the session even if there are no errors...i used to see like this when i was working on 4.6, 4.7.
I tried checking the box Extended log..and there was no option (keep the session checkbox) in ECC
Please let me know how to keep the session regardless of success or falilure of the session..

If your Session has deletion indicator selected, than it would be deleted as soon as it is successfully processed.
To set this deletion indicator by default from LSMW program, you need to select "Keep batch input folders" checkbox.
Once the Session has been created, you can go to SM35 to change this indicator
Select the Session (double Click)
Press button Folder Header
Here you would find a small button next to Deletion Indicator. It should be blank in order to retain this Session.

Error while creating the session in LSMW

Hi,
I am trying to load the file in LSMW.
while i am creating session for all the red records, I am getting the error message "An error occurred when deleting sessions" . If i convert only <1000 records, the session is creating fine.
Please provide the solution.

Starting a managed server session and keeping the session when you exit

I created a managed server named "xxx_mgd" with the create managed server wizard in the admin console
when I start the managed server it produces a prompt for the username and password, whcih is the same username
and password entered when i was created. The issue I have is that when I exit the session, the process dies.
In comparison to the starting of the admin server, which is started with custom scripts which calls the standard wl startup scripts and it runs in background using nohup....
Is there away to start my managed server the same way, so that it stays running when you exit. I have tried running it as the admin server, using an option where the password if fed, but it dies and never startup

Assuming that you are running WebLogic version 9.x and above.
Copy the "security" folder inside DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer directory to DOMAIN_HOME/servers/ManagedServer directory.
This security folder will have boot.properties file which contains encrypted username and password which is used when starting the server.
You can run Admin Server in background using nohup command as below from DOMAIN_DIRECTORY. This command will redirect stdout to AdminServer.out file.
nohup ./startWebLogic>>AdminServer.out &
You can run Managed Server in background using nohup command as below from DOMAIN_DIRECTORY/bin folder. This command will redirect stdout to ManagedServer.out file.
nohup ./startManagedWebLogic.sh <Managed Server Name> t3://<AdminServerListenAddress>:<PortNo> >>ManagedServer.out &

Does an AJAX call keep the session alive ?

I am not sure whether this is a question which I should post here.. but..
I have a jsp which makes some AJAX calls depending on user action..
well, my understanding is.. the server will not differentiate whether the request from the client is a synchronus or asynchronus one.. and if it did get a request from the client, the session will not time out within the time limit specified. So my question is there anyway the AJAX call will not actually affect the session time out ?
Is my understanding as mentioned above.. wrong ?

I have a jsp with a huge number of html objects.. say "text boxes".. well imagine an excel sheet.
The session time out is set to be 20 minutes in the web.xml.
The user has to go through each and every cell in the page to enter data.. and ideally it will take more than 20 minutes. On change of certain cells or text boxes.. I do have an Ajax call which fetches some data from the server and this feature was not there before.
The organizational security standards does not let me increase the session time out to more than 20 minutes. Since I have these intermittent AJAX calls, I believe that since the server doesnt know whether it is a synchronus or asynchronus request, the session wont time out if the AJAX call happens in between while the user is working on the page. I agree that it is a simple thing which I can test and find out.. but I still wanted to know whether my assumption is right.. before I stick to it.
I am not sure whether I made the reframing look more complicated. Let me know.

How to use the session id provided by fuego.papi.ProcessServiceSession

Hi, I'm wondering how to reuse the session id provided by the ProcessServiceSession in the Oracle BPM 10g Process API (PAPI)...
After the processService.createSession(passport, "localhost") call, I get an ProcessServiceSession instance, wich has an getId() method, so... the question is:
Is there a way to reuse this sessionId in another call to the processServiceSession's methods?, something like: I have this sessionId "userName321321321321321", so I want to reuse it to avoid passing the username and password in another moment of the application...
Moment 1: The user does the log in step and obtains a sessionId, then, the user exits the application... (I'm not going to execute the close() of the ProcessServiceSession, so, I keep the session alive)
Moment 2: The user goes back to the application and does some other things, so, with the generated session id in moment 1, I'd like to retrieve that session (by the session id) and accept him as valid user, without ask him the password again and allow him to do PAPI stuff.
Is this doable?

I can't restore a previous session (it instead recovers the session before) of my Tabs and my home page keeps being reset to firefox

Over the last few days (since i updated to the newest version of firefox) i've been having problems. I usually keep open quite a few tabs that are invaluable to me that I need, they contain vital information i've been needing for research and I can't afford to keep losing them!. I'm used to exiting firefox when i turn off my computer and them saving for my next session when I open firefox back up. For some reason now, if i turn off my computer, when i turn on again and go into firefox to restore my previous session. it will restore the session prior to my previous session but not my previous session.
My default setting was to resume the Firefox session from where it was when I last exited Firefox that I set. The settings are all the same as they was before I updated firefox and I had this problem, so it is set to remember my history. I'm really not that tech savvy so i really don't know if it was teh update that caused it but it seems around the same time. Also, every single time. it sets my home page to firefox (it is usually google)) it will only remain google if i change it back and remain for the day until i restart my computer.
I'd be most grateful to any hint that might solve this problem. Thank you for your attention. I really appreciate the input! thanks everyone in advance!

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

I am uploading data using lsmw following direct input method.But in this i got an error when processing the session.It shows the status message like 'the required session could not be processed'.It also read and convert the input data file successfully.

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0.
Is it possible to keep the reference of ViewObject Instance in the Application Module Session User Data? Will it have any side effect and is it best practice?
Instead of find the View Object every time form the Application Module, directly access the instance of viewobject stored in the user data and proceed further for our business logic implementations.

Its not recommended(and it may fail in real life scenario). You may run in to issues when AM is getting passivated. VO has set of supporting components and most of them are not Serialize. Assuming you deal with data from third party data source and your VO is programmatic VO, a possibility could be caching the data used for populating VO through some cluster aware caching mechanisms instead of caching VO instance. Alternatively, if the number of rows are less, use transient VO

How can I keep the ResultSet ???? (Session and DBMS)

My problem is :
When I fetch the ResultSet from the database it's much to big to print all out to the user at once!
I need to print about 10 elements out as HTML first. Then if the user wants to he can ask for 10 more and so on! Well, how can I hold on to the ResultSet I fetched in the beginning for later requests from the user??
Can I save the ResultSet object in an httpSession or is there an other way to do it!
Please help me with an example if possible!

Yes, it is quite possible to keep the ResultSet in a session, but when you do that, you have to keep the Connection open to the database, with which the ResultSet has been obtained, so, it is not advisable to do that, because, if the Connection is kept open, then if the number of users of your site increase, then it is going to be a problem because, there is a limit on the maximum number of Connections open at a single time, there by causing your server down for an user who comes for the Connection after the maximum number of Connections is achieved.
so, to get around this problem, you can do some thing like this.
I hope you have a column in your table which gives you the serial number,
if so,
you can query some thing like this, if you want to display the first 10 results
select * from my_table where slno>0 and slno<=10;
now when the user clicks on the next 10 link
then
do the query as
select * from my_table where slno>10 and slno<=20;
and so on and so forth.

Issue in keeping the InfoView session valid using Custom JSP Open Document

We are using OpenDocument URL in custom JSP to show BO Web Intelligence Document. The documents are opening fine but some of our WebI documents have links to other WebI document, when the link is clicked it takes to Info View Login Page.
If I login and logout once from InfoView then the WebI document links work fine.
Can you please guide me on how to make the session valid for WebI internal links? Do I need to create a Cookie or use URL Encoding?

I need not create any cookie or create token using getLogonToken
Some of the URLs in the webi documents were incorrect and so Info View was taking to the Info View Login page.
But I am surprised though why info view not complain about incorret and rather takes to the login page.

I can't download firefox. It keeps saying the session has timed out and that download failed?

when i click download it starts to download the file. But then when it hits 99% i get another box that says that it was unable to download Firefox 3.6 and the session has timed out. What is going on?
