Keeping a flash movie from restarting

I have a flash file as the navigation bar up top of my web
page and i call new html pages on the bottom, so the flash
refreshes everytime i click a link. Is there a easier way to keep
the flash file static while still changing the relevant html
below??

is there a tutorial?
i am completely new to this...

  • Crop flash movie from top ???

I'm trying to crop my flash movie from the top. I'd like to
crop it by 20 pixels or so. I heard there was a way to do this
using the "SALIGN" parameter and alignment tags but I don't know to
code it. Can someone revise my code (below) to include the proper
    parameters and tags? Thanks.

  • Driving Flash movie from VBScript

I'd like to have the ability to drive a flash movie from a VB
script for test purposes. For example, I have a SWF where a visitor
clicks on the button which performs some actions. I'd like to
script a way to do that so that I can drop it in to our build
process and, after a new update, run this script file to to load
the movie and "push the button". is that sort of thing
    possible?

  • Controlling flash movie from another

    hello
i hope someone can help me.
i have 2 flash movies in a page with a CMS and an iframe.
    so quite a complicated structure...
    QUESTION1:
is it possible to control one of them from the other one?
e.g. telling movie B to go to a label from a button in movie
    A?
    QUESTION 2
is it possible to controll either a target movie is already
loaded in the page or not?
suppose i need to check from movie A is movie B is already
    loaded in the page
, load it in case it is not loaded, then tell ti to go to a
    certain label?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Controling Flash movies from another movie

I have a site that has multiple flash movies in it. One on
the top level within a tablecell, the other loads into a central
iframe. I want the movie in the table cell to play when the movie
in the iframe hits a certain point, but I can't figure out the
targetting. Is it even possible to use the gotoandplay() function
to target a movie that is not within the curent movie? If so what
would my targeting path look like?
    Thanks.

Open two files, go to library CTRL L and you can view in the
    same time library of
all the open files at the moment. Than you can copy paste
    simply the content.

  • Modify flash movie from HTML form

so here is what I have:
I have a flash movie and as the flash movie plays there are
elements that say things like, "Your company name here" or "Your
title here", or "Your Product Picture here" etc.
From an HTML form (I can do all this part) I would want
someone to be able to specify their customized information and
SOMEHOW that would end up in the Flash movie. I would like to know
whether I need special software to create these. I ultimately need
have the final product be a .swf with the form-entered information
    like Company Name, etc.
I don't know what I need in order to do this. I'm basically
info-gathering. Ask any questions if I am leaving anything out that
might help you help me identify what we need.
    Thanks in advance.

no. none from me. i honestly dont have the first clue

  • Newbie qs. how to find duration or set position (in time) of a flash movie from Javascript?

I am trying to control the Flash player browser plugin from
    Javascript.
    - I need to set the start position to play, based on time.
    example, setPosition(10 seconds)
However I notice that the flash player API is based upon
    number of frames.
for example, the methods TotalFrames() and GotoFrame() are
    based on frame number.
How do I convert it to time? I don't see a frame rate
    variable.
I don't see a call to access this - but the duration of a
clip is always shown near the slider
    - can I also query the duration from the player?
    - I also need a callback into my Javascript object when an
    event occurs - for example,
when the player stops playing because it is stopped by the
user. Should work on earlier versions than Flash 8.
    Any help appreciated.
    thanks,
    Anil

there is none of such commands.
I did reply to you in other forum, you need 3rd party tools
    for it, otherwise there
    is nothing you can do.
What is the purpose of posting if you don't check replies ?

  • Possible to offer a 640x480 size Flash movie?

Hello & Happy Christmas List responders,
My name is Luke Wonderly, and I've used flash 5 a little bit
    - in the past.
I just purchased my new copy of CS3, and am beginning to
develop how the work flow for
    my project should go.
I have several hundred individual "Dance" moves, that are 6
to 12 seconds long (both real time - and slow motion) shot
on DVC-Pro 720x486 - exported as uncompressed QT movies - in
    a current supported Codec.
I would like to deliver them on the internet - both as QT,
    and Flash movies.
For the Flash development, my first questions -
    2 Questions:
1). Is it possible to deliver an internet Flash Movie at a
    640x480 size?
I see tons of references to creating 320x240 sizes - but
what about the larger, physical size?
    2) Is it possible to allow a way for my audience to download,
save & keep the Flash movies - to watch later?
If so, how are the way's you folks would do it? (3rd
    question).
Thank you for any help, time or direction that you may offer.
    Kindest regards & Christmas greetings,
    Luke Wonderly
    [email protected]

    Thank you rafiqelmansy for helping,
and Happy New Year to you as well!
Ok, I think I understand about file size and bandwidth.
These movies will be offered on line - to paying subscribers.
Each movie teaches a paticular dance move (with 2 different
    camera views
one real time, the other view in slow motion) . . plus there
    is no Audio .
Only text titles, description & break down.
So the content is for training (monkey see, monkey do), and
    needs to be as large as possible - preferably 640x480 . . . .
The clients know that it's not going to be tiny file sizes -
    and because each
dance movie is only (average) 8 seconds long - it should
    still boil down
    to an acceptable, downloadable size . . . .
At least that's what I was hoping for. Thank you for letting
    me know that
Flash will at least give me the options.
Of course I'll be doing all kinds of compression level
    testing - but I didn't
want to start in a 640 direction - until I could find out
first - if that physical size was even supported.
In reference to question 2, you wrote:
"2) yes, you just need to upload the version that the users
need to download and link to it from Flash using."
It looked like maybe you got cut off - or that you wanted me
    to go to your
web site (using attached link) . . . I searched your site on
    the tutorials -
very nice (I know physical size of Flash content &
player, and will use your tutorial for that end of delivery) . . .
But I didn't see any reference on:
How to offer your customers the ability to download,
    save/keep, and watch the movie(s) later . . . . (but maybe I missed
    it).
Do I offer it with a link to a Compressed "Stuff it" flash
    player file.
Is there just a simpler way?
And then, what happens when the customer actually double
    clicks the
    file that's on their computer . . . . . does it engage the
browser, then the flash plug in - then
    begin playing it ?
I'm just not sure how it should be done - so that it will
    really work.
Could you please help me on this a little more?
    Thanks again,
    Luke Wonderly

  • No sound in Flash movies

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that linked YouTube videos that
I had previously watched and listened to suddenly had no sound. A
little more investigation showed me that no flash videos had sound
any more. I've reinstalled several times, including both OS X
versions. I've used the uninstaller (which, by the way, does not
delete all of the Flash files in the Library folder). I've
reinstalled all of my browsers. No online Flash movie from any
source has sound on any browser.
    Can anyone help?

I just reinstalled my system with XP SP2 and found that sound
in Macromedia Flash player (version 9) wasn’t working. I
compared it to another machine and found out that - for some
obscure reason - the wavemapper mapping was missing.
I tried reinstalling other versions of the Flash player, but
to no success … So I added the mapping myself via the
    registry.
Go to the following sweetspot in your registry:
    My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
Create a new String value named “wavemapper“. As
    value give it “msacm32.drv“.
And that’s it, no restart necessary, all your Flash
embedded videos will have sound again :)

  • Flash Movie Buttons Do Not Work (DW & FL CS3)

    Hello,
I'm fairly confident in DW but still getting to grips with
    Flash, however...
I created a flash movie from a small .wmv sample clip went
through the DW import and convert steps, chose the standard buttons
    and published it!
The video worked fine in the flash preview (and in the HTML
preview) and the video controls works just fine, I even have all
the files saved into a single folder.
I then embed then embedded the .swf file into my page on DW
and still got the grey box which shows there is a flash file I then
previewed it in a browser and the controls do not show, I even
uploaded it to my server to try it live on the net and still the
    same problem.
I'm much more of a designer than a coder and I looked over
the coding and it 'appeared' to be fine.
What simple idiotic thing am I not doing...?
    I'm using Dreamweaver & Flash CS3
    Many thanks, Jack :)

Actually, I got it working now...
It seems that I have to have all the files in the same folder
as the page it displays on!
Historically I would dump a standard flash clip (not a
converted movie with buttons) into the /images folder.
I tested this intitally in a /video folder (just to keep all
the files in one place) which would display the clip but not the
buttons but as soon as I moved the files in the same directory as
the page itself (which is the main index.html) it worked fine!
So if anyone does read this is there a reason for that as I
would like to keep everything in separate folders!
    Cheers, J

  • Can I prevent the rapid flashing which occurs when testing a Flash movie which has a syntax error?

I teach games development using Flash Professional CS6, and one of my students has photosensitive epilepsy. He is finding that the 'strobing' effect which occurs when he executes Test Movie on a movie with errors in its script is triggering headaches which can be a precursor to a fit. Obviously this is making it very difficult for him to complete his lab and assignment work. Is there any way of preventing a Flash movie from running if it contains a syntax error?
I have created a workaround by adding a bunch of extra frames to the start of the movie which will display a "SYNTAX ERROR" message if the script doesn't run - this gives my student a few seconds margin to quite the movie before the strobing begins. I have a single frame at the start with a goto statement which jumps over those error frames if the code doesn't have any syntax errors.
This seems to be working ok, but it's an ugly solution - does anyone know of a better way to deal with this?
    Thanks.

1.In Preferences you can check "open test-movie in tabs".
    2. Having done that you could write a jsfl-script which switches the focus (immeadiately after you test the movie) to another tab in the same register card, thus, forcing the possible "corrupt" testmovie in the background. If are no compiler errors , the testmovie can be made available by simply switching to the test-movie tab, if there are compiler errors, you can close it without having to look at it.
Another option would be to setup FlashDevelop as compiler trigger of Flash.
You have to change these basic properties in your project:
FlashDevelop will only launch the test movie if it compiles flawless, inside Flash.
FlashDevelop will act as a "bouncer" to Flash.
