Keeping a linked numbers file when moved to a new network

It seems Pages keeps track of where a numbers chart comes from until you move it across a network (or email). Does anyone know how to re-establish links to the charts for updating?

When I want to keep links between two or more files, I always store them in a disk image (wxyz.dmg).
So, the links are kept when I move them on any kind of media.
It's so simple that I wonder why few users think to that.

Can't open Numbers file after moving it back to Mac from Dropbox

Please help! Can't open Numbers file after moving it back to iMac from Dropbox. Says I need the newer version of Numbers each time I tried to open the file. I am 100% sure that I had the newest version. Spoke to the AppleCare guy and after doing the checks he is also sure that I had the latest version of Numbers and AppleCare can't help. He suggested that maybe i should run it on a file repair program...any suggestion?... please help...

I've read reports of people having trouble when storing Numbers 3 documents on Dropbox. I think it's related to the fact that they're not really "files." They're "packages" that look like files. I had thought that Dropbox had cleared this up with their latest update. You should be on Dropbox version 2.4 or later.
If you have Time Machine you may have some luck going back in time and restoring the document from a previous version.
Storing Numbers documents on iCloud works much better, at least for me, and (unlike Dropbox) iCloud facilitates automatic syncing to other Macs and iOS devices signed into the same Apple ID.
Perhaps you could consider keeping Numbers documents in iCloud instead. iCloud is deeply integrated into the app, and now works well.

Help please, spacific file update only changed files when moved

I record live bands and file size can be very large when i make changes to files i want to save time and resources by only updating what has changed without replacing the whole file. when moving files from desktop to external drive.
say i have a file named "jam" that i add files to on my external drive then i copy it to my internal drive, do some edditing and add some files. when i move it back to external drive i want to update the "jam" file add the new files and changed files without having to keep track of the changed files and not transfer the files that havent changed. can anyone help?

Only files and folders below directory "/emmc" will show up in windows explorer.
You will also not be able to edit (add/delete) files to the /system/media/audio/notifications folder (or just about any folder above /emmc) . This is because you do not have administrator access (for lack of a better term) to the phone.
So, if it's that important to you, you'll have to find a way to tell the phone you're an administrator
Windows Explorer correctly identifies these as two separate drives. There is, after all, a built in drive as well as the swappable SDcard.

I may not be clear on what you are asking here but I'll try an answer anyway since that's the type of guy I am.
If you have PDF files on your old computer, you will need to transfer them to your new computer. You can use a flash drive or CD if needed.
But again, I think I'm not getting what you are really wanting to know. If I'm not, can you give us some more details?

BUG: Access Connect Abort, when I create a new network profile.

Where can I report bugs?
My system is windows xp sp2 on X60.
I have been using AC-4.42(Access Connection) for a long time. And before, there is no problem when I added new network profile into it.
But yesterday, I wanted to add a new profile into it. I opened the "create profile" window and input the name of the new profile (I have two network adapters, wired and wireless. So by default, the both are selected. And I left the default selection unchanged.), then "Next". The 2nd window is about wireless config, I configured everything, then go on "Next", at this moment, an error occured and AC aborted with four error windows. The titles of those windows are "ACMainGUI.exe error" and "ACMainGUIWnd: ACMainGUI.exe".
Then I did it again, I opened the "create profile" window, and this time, in this (1st) window, I changed the selection of network adapter, besides inputing the name of the new profile. I only selected the wired adapter, and then "Next". Sadly, this time the 2nd(next) window did not appear(pop up) at all. Instead, those four error windows poped up one by one. AC aborted again.
I repeated the above operations many times, and everytime, AC aborted.
So I went to the online "support and download" to look for some updates about AC. And I found AC-4.52 with luck. After downloading and installing, unfortunately the problem still exists. AC-4.52 still aborts when I create a new network profile.
So now, what to do. I have no ways. I am expecting the developers could note this problem and fix it and give me a newer update as soon as possible.
Sigh...

I have exactly the same issue. Next to the actions mentioned by ixbm I have also fully uninstalled and reinstalled the AC-4.52, but this didn't help.
Any idea on how to solve, installing older version?

When I execute:

Why is that? I am not running a report.

As other have said, you have set Results to File.
But since you posted your code, I had a look at it. I was not able to understand why you use dynamic SQL. For instance, this:

Can be written as

If you can avoid dynamic SQL, your code becomes easier to maintain, and less vulnerable for nasty surprises.
And if you use dynamic SQL, you should use sp_executesql and pass parameter values as parameters instead of inlining them.

I currently have FiOS service at my house and am using an e-mail address that I originally register before 2000. I am moving to my new wife's house and she already has FiOS service.
Does anyone know if I can have my currrent e-mail address transferred to the new FiOS service number?

Music files moved to a new network drive with a new volume name

I had to replace my old network attached harddisk which held all my music ( mainly mp3 ) files. This drive was automounted and had the name "MUSICHD". My new network attached storage device ( LACIE Ethernet Disk mini 500GB ) has the volume name "SHARE" and it's not possible to change it.
I copied all the files onto the the new drive, but now I have to tell iTunes that the files are not longer on a volume called MUSICHD. Could somebody be so kind and give me an advice how to do it. Shure I could re-import all the music files, but I don't like to loose all my ratings, playlists, etc.

to be precise. I don't let iTunes manage my files. All my mp3 files are on a NAS ( Network Attached Storage ) device ( it's a 300 GB Harddisk with a 1GBit network connection from Buffalow ).
If I add mp3 files to my library I first copy it to the NAS device and than drag and drop the files to the iTunes library. So iTunes only manages the links to that files. Files are not imported or copied to/with iTunes.
Now I have to replace that NAS device by another one. Due to this replacement I have to change the network volume-name of the device. This share is part of the link in the iTunes database for each file.
If you look into the xml file you'll find something like this:

Extra words added to sheet names on Numbers files when I open them at work, why?

Everytime I email a Numbers Spreadsheet as an Excel file to myself, when I open it on my work computer, EVERY ONE of the sheets at the bottom adds "Table 1" to it. For example, the sheet may say, "May 2011". When I email it to myself and open it, it then says, "May 2011 Table 1" . If I email it again from my iPad2 then it would say "May 2011 Table 1 Table 1". Obviously I have to keep going back and renaming each sheet b/c it gets so insanely long after a few emails.
Any help on either of these questions would be greatly apprecatied! Thanks!

When exporting to Excel, the Excel worksheets are named with the Numbers sheet and table names. So, if you have a Numbers document with a sheet called May 2011 and that sheet has a single table called Table 1, the resulting Excel worksheet becomes May 2011 - Table 1.
When importing an Excel Spreadsheet into Numbers, Numbers creates a sheet from the Excel worksheet and creates a table (Table 1) for the data. So an Excel worksheet called May 2011 - Table 1 will result in a Numbers sheet called May 2011 - Table 1 and in that sheet will be a Table 1.
That's what you are seeing and there is no workaround. Numbers and Excel are not structured the same. Import and export are not one-to-one processes. Importing and exporting back and forth is not recommended for any proprietary format, be it spreadsheets, word processing documents, CAD files, or whatever. It is better to use an application that natively supports the chosen format. In other words, use Numbers exclusively or use Excel and/or its clones exclusively.

How do i keep my apple lossless files when I use iTunes match?

When I started using iTunes Match, my Apple Lossless and aiff lossless files were converted to lower quality 256 files in iTunes on my mac. How do I stop this from happening? I want to keep the Lossless files as they are.

Would it make a difference when I used iMatch .... I started the service the day it was made available. Was it an original issue and has since been corrected?
-iTunes and the music files were on my iMac internal Hard Drive. Only 1 iTunes Library.
-No alternate iTunes libraries were created ergo match not turned on to an alterante.
-The original files were added to the iTunes Library from an external hard drive ... which were copied to my internal hard drive by iTunes. (Advanced tab feature) The external backup drive (4TB Seagate Mac Drive) is only connected when I use it to backup physical files. I do not use a backup program. Everything is copied its own folder. Most files were ripped from my cd's i.e. to the external Drive using XLD. Not one pirated file. a few HD albums purchased from HD Tracks.
-I even tried re-adding some of the Original FLAC files to iTunes again. They were physical in my iTunes on the internal hard drive. They were also replaced.
The fact is .... The Original Files were altered. They had not been deleted and replaced, they were altered. They were the original files on my internal hard drive. Only 1 copy of iTunes is on the computer.

Is there a way to keep images as RAW files when editing with Photo Shop ???

The drawback I find with aperture is that when using photoshop as editor I cannot keep my raw files. They are converted to TIFFS...Is there a way that I can keep them in Raw????? Thanks!!

Your original RAW files are still there in your Aperture library in your pictures folder. Or on an external hard drive if you are referencing them.... They are never touched, you are editing a 'version' of your original RAW file.
When you export to PS Aperture creates a new 'version' of the original and exports that to PS. The file format that it returns to Aperture as, from PS, is controlled by you in Aperture preferences... > Export Tab > External Editor file format....
You can have your pictures in the format you choose. But your original RAW's are untouched.
