Keeping data on phone

When I sync with my Sony W850i all the calender information is deleted prior to one month ago (or whatever period is selected). Is there any way that I can perform a sync that does not delete old data?
I want the two calenders to look at each other, compare and make any changes necessary, not delete my phone's records.

No. iSync is limited to syncing up to one month in the past, and up to one year in the future. You can't sync outside of these constraints, and there is no workaround. Sorry!

so I did the itunes upgrade to 10.5.1 and then teh iphone 4 needed to b e upgraded to new ios5.1 - seemed to go all the way through, and the final restore seemed to fail. Can I force a restore from back up? can I guaruntee that I can keep data from backups??

Phone will not sync to new pc. dont want to sync and loose data on phone

I loaded software on my pc – pc was stolen – all info is on my phone but not new pc. New pc has a different name and now phone will not sync and keep current info, I don’t want to lose my data on phone. I have changed my password many times – if I use new password in Itunes store on pc it works but will not work on phone. Apple ID is different on phone. How do I fix all of this?

It seems that I have multiple ID’s and 2 email addresses. My email address changed and I did so on iTunes but when going on to store it asks for password and still shows old email address. ID on iphone is the old email address and I don’t remember the password. How do I fix this. I cannot login on iTunes on my phone.

IOS 4.2.1 + 3G data = hot phone & extremely rapid battery drain

Since "upgrading" to iOS 4.2.1 on the weekend, it seems anytime I try to use the phone for data over 3G, it'll heat up like crazy and I can watch the battery drain in front of my eyes.
Everything else works fine including data over WiFi aside from some apps quitting abruptly without any transition effects.
I've reset and just finished Restoring. Less than a minute after I turn off WiFi and use any kind of data, the phone heats up and my battery % actually went down while connected to my Mac Pro.

just wanted to share my experience... I too updated to 4.2.1 the other day and running on Rogers network. I noticed that the 3G data seems to be the culprit. Its consistantly downloading data! I can only imagine what Rogers is going through if all iphone 3G's are having this issue :s... I just turned off cellular data and running some tests, later tonight going to try a full restore to see what that will do...

Keep data even after uninstallation

Hi everybody,
My question is, what are the options that i have to keep datas of my app (WP8.1 Silverlight) to be restored after a new installation of it ?
Here are my ideas :
- The oneDrive account of the user. BUT the API for OneDrive is completely unstable (well for SL app), sometimes it works, and some times i have no errors, just an unknow for status ... And also , maybe the user don't want to use his oneDrive account.
- Is the backup service in the settings of the phone can handle that ? but it means the user have to do it by hisself.
- Any other ideas ?

Well also, i can't use any server to do that :) because the app is free and i don't have the money for that.

I'd say that you can't guarantee that the phone will retain your data - there's always something that will remove it. It would be a bit of a nightmare if the app model allowed installing data but not removing it; phones all over would quickly run out
of space!
You'll be better off to find a server solution, or use a public storage service that you control instead of the user.

Grandfathered unlimited, but want to keep my current phone number

My wife loves her phone number, but no longer needs her unlimited data. She has an old plan, and we know that if we take advantage of the subsidy and upgrade her line, it will lose the unlimited data.
I am just winding down my first 2 year contract with Verizon, iphone 5. Separate account form my wife btw. So I was not able to get an unlimited data plan, I am on a tiered data plan, and I could really use an unlimited plan, like my wife's.
Reps have told me that there is no way to switch plans, but each keep our own phones and phone numbers. Apparently the phone number and the plan are tied together. WE could just trade phones, but then we would also be swapping phone numbers.
Can anybody suggest a solution?
I've considered taking over a friend's unlimited plan via Assumption of Liability, but then there is no way to get my phone number onto that unlimited line, at least so long as my phone number is already tied to a verizon line. (however, I do understand that if I take over a line via AOL, that I can subsequently change that number. It just may not be possible to change it to my particular number, )Is this correct?
I could go get a Sprint unlimited line, and then port my number over... but I think Verizon is a better provider.
Ive tried to think if google voice could help... I could port my current number out to google voice, and then see if I could port my number back in to the AOL unlimited line. Is this possible?
Any suggestions would be welcome!

When you say "getting a new phone through my new business plan", are you the account rep for the new business plan? Is the business plan through Verizon?
If you port your number to a new carrier, and your line is still in contract with Verizon, yes, there is an ETF. If the new business plan is with Verizon, the business plan can do an AOL of your line, and there will be no ETF.
If you are not the owner of the business plan, then you'll need to to talk to the account manager of the business plan to ensure that your number is ported, if possible.

Another option is to make your alert log accessible as an external table.

Find "alert log" on the page. Add a numeric column to the table and create a sequence and you can put in a surrogate row number that will allow you to pull sections using LEAD and LAG as you please.

If there is a backup somewhere that had her data you can restore that backup. Otherwise, all her data has been overwritten by yours.

When I log in with 6.0.38.1 android client, I get date format in dd/mm/yyyy independent of device date format (I checked by changing device date format) and when I log in with 6.0.30.x android client, I get date format in mm/dd/yyyy independent of device date format for the same export to same connection.
Don't know why this is happening.

According to your expertise, do you consider that PSA must keep data for a long time ? Or should it be set to empty after a short time (one month for instance).
If we consider that PSA must not keep data for a long time, how do you let your clients access old data (for instance, results of 2005 that are accessed rarely) ? Do you create another cube with old data, compressed, with aggregates ...
I have investigating archiving, but this option does not fit because we want to be able to access the data at any time, even very rarely..
Any feedback on the topic is appreciated.

Hi Vanina,
How long you save your PSA is depending on the load frequency and the way you load:
e.g.
- Daily full load: one week will be enough
- Daily delta: depending on the possibilities to repair/ to run a new init. If a repair is difficult or a init takes a lot of time (billions of records) keep your PSA for 90 days.
Also the time the business needs to "discover" errors is important. If they run monthly reports, don't delete the PSA on weekly basis.
If you load data from flat files or other sources that cannot be easily recovered: save PSA "forever".
Cubes with a lot of data can be split into "Yearly" cubes. Run reports with only recent data direct on the cube. reports with this and last year on a multi-cube. (you can even make another multicube for all the years. Compress cubes once they are not filled anymore.
Yearly cubes can also partitioned (menu --> extra's --> DB performance --> partitioning)
