Keeping "Info" like "date created" from popping up in Stickies.

While using Stickies, I am trying to stop the "info" pop up from popping up. It covers other information and is really anoying. I've looked a lot of places but can't find this info anyplace. Using Lion and Mac Book Pro.

I've noticed this behavior also. I've seen servers like facebook.com, akamai.com and adware.com show under that list. I've searched for an explanation (I was actually looking for more info when I ran into your post) and haven't been able to find much. So far I've read that turning on the OS X firewall helps prevent those servers from showing up (haven't tried it myself). I personally don't think is spyware or anything like that, but would like to know why they are showing.

Here you go. This is simple example. Maybe not the best way, I am just
beginner in LV and still not comfortable with data flow that much. I prefer
events, so I would change this to use Event Structures.
When you click on OK button on SliderMain, it opens Slider.vi. Now both
windows are open and you can interact with both. Now if you click on OK
again with Slider.vi open, you run into problems. Only thing I did was
change VI properties of slider.vi, mainly window appearance.

Strategies to keep the Zen Xtra cover from popping o

OK - I had heard that the Zen Xtra cover pops off easy before I bought it and thought it couldn't be all that bad
But it seems like all I have to do is touch my player sometimes and the cover pops off
I put a piece of tape on the latch on the bottom so I couldn't jostle it just as soon as I got it and saw what a hair trigger it was - but it seems like sometimes I just pick it up (maybe squeezing the sides a bit) and the cover pops off?
My refurbished Zen Xtra didn't come with a case - maybe that helps prevent the cover from popping?
Any other strategies or fixes from folks who have dealt with this irritating feature? (Sound quality wise I'm VERY happy with it... but I can see where this might continue to be a major annoyance over time)

I have to populate the Date Created IPTC field, and sometimes make mistakes because of the (illogical) US order of MM/DD/YYYY.
But that process could be automated since the info is already in the EXIF field.

Get DNG Date Created from dng sdk

I have successfully compiled the dng sdk and the validate app and I wondered what is a simple way to just get the date created out?

Maybe your scanner software is doing something strange saving as a DNG that ACR does not like? Try scanning as a TIF and open in ACR if that works for you.
Scanning large format negatives as a 16 bit RGB tiff is and then opening in Camera RAW is my preferred workflow and I get to use all of the ACR tools and adjustments, much easier to do some of these than in Photoshop.
Maybe the TIFF route might work for you - and once in ACR you can always save the output as DNG

Ow do I keep the slideshow settings window from popping up?

every time I start a slideshow in iPhoto 7.1.1, the slideshow settings window keeps on popping up, even if I save the display and music settings.
This is useless and annoying. Where do I change the settings such that I am not asked about the slideshow settings every time anew?

If your using an album and playing a slideshow with the play button at the bottom of the page hold down the Option key and hit the play button. That will bypass the setting window if you have saved the settings. Those settings will be linked to that album so if you remove the photos and put new ones in the same settings will still be valid.

If the slideshow button is not in the toolbar at the bottom go to the View->Show in Toolbar menu and select Slideshow.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Extract date created from .mov files

Help!! Please!!! Is there any way to find the date a movie file was created, taken, filmed? I have literally hundreds of movie files that I'd like to identify when they were taken, and I have search for some kind of batch renaming tool to extract this info and rename the file. Even the free version of QT Player allows you to "copy" frames. These could be "pasted" into a new blank using any image editing software.
What ever frame is showing when you stop playback will be the one copied. More control by using the right left arrow keys.
The Pro upgrade can export a frame to many image formats. It doesn't matter that the format is PAL. NTSC and PAL are TV playback settings. Your computer doesn't care.

How do I keep the "conformsetting cookies" box from popping up all the time?

Every time I try to pull up a page this stuip box called "Confirm Setting Cookies" pops up and won't let me do anything. I'm about to remove Firefox because of the frustration. I have other issues with your program but since I can't even get into my mail 1/2 the time or go to a page when I want to this is the biggest issue right now. That entry in your keychain may be damaged. In the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, launch Keychain Access. At the left, the upper item selected should be login, and the lower on Passwords. At the right, locate (if it's obviously named), the item for X509Anchors and remove it. Close Keychain Access. Then next time you visit the site this is for, it will ask for your login information as if it were your first visit. Enter your info and a new keychain link will be created.

It seems turning OFF "Open Documents as Tabs" in "Prefs>User Interface" fixes the problem for me.

What is "date created" and why does it change?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 that I am using with Windows XP Service Pack 3, a Pentium 4 CPU with 3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 48.6 GB of free disk space.
None of the "dates created" in Properties match the date the picture was taken. What does "Date Created" represent? Is it the date that the images are pulled into a catalog in Organizer?
I have multiple catalogs that show creation dates that are later than the date modified, (example: date created of June 2012 and a date modified of March 2012). How is it possible that the date created is later than the date modified? Shouldn't the date created be earlier than the date modified?
Also, I have had several instances in which the date created was changed again, making the system think it was a "new" image in my watched folders. Shouldn't the Date Created remain constant? How can I keep the date created from being changed?

How to find the date created from a file?

The attached library make a call to a Windows dll to grab file properties, including the file creation date. Of course this only works on Windows.
It's in LabVIEW 6.0.2, but upgrades OK.

IPhoto problem with "date created" on photos when moving to Ext HD

I'm unable to copy or backup photos from iPhoto onto an external HD w/o iPhoto changing the original date and time information for the photos. I've exported them and dragged them, with different results, but the "date created" changes every time. It changes the date the original photo was taken (which is displayed for each photo in iPhoto), either changing it to the date that I edited the photo or the date that I moved the photo onto the Ext HD. Any solutions?

I understand that there is a difference between the photo date and the file date, and I think I understand what is going on when I try to copy my photos onto my External HD. What I don't understand is why the EXIF data from each photo can't be transferred along with the photo. The only date information that comes with it (via Finder) is the following:
1) If I drag photos into a file I've named and created on my ExtHD, finder changes the "date created" from the date the photo was taken to the date that I moved the photo from my laptop onto my destop Mac, not the date that the photo was taken.
2) If I use the export function to attempt to put photos on my ExtHD, finder changes the "date created" and the "date modified" to the current date and time on every photo. (And who would even want that information?)
What I want is for each photo to display the date and time that I actually TOOK the photo. Is that so hard to do?
Why does Finder switch to some sort of filing date instead of keeping the EXIF data that it seems most people would prefer?
I hate to say this, but when I had a PC this was as easy as pie. No problems, EVER. And now that I have a Mac, my photo library on my ExtHD (where I store my photos for safekeeping -- in addition to Time Machine) is a mess. My folders display the date, but the photos inside each file are incorrectly dated.

P.S. I have Mac OS X, Version 10.5.8, and would need the 10.6 version or higher to use the Better Finder app that Terence mentions. Do you think I should update to get that program? Is that program free or do I have to pay for it? Would that solve my problems?
