Keeping it on charge overnight...
hey,
basically i have the set up where....my old dock is connected to my cinema display, and i sync it when i get home or whatever, and the dock that came with the iPhone is on my bedside table because i use it as an alarm.
is it ok to just leave it on charge all night? or is it bad for the battery?
thanks alot.
I've been doing this since I got the iPhone and haven't had any problems. In fact, it's better to regularly charge lithium batteries than to let them run down. So, no problems.
See: http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html for more info on good practices.

Battery doesn't charge overnight
HI,
I will leave my laptop plugged in to charge overnight only to find it at the same level as when I shut down for the day. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi James,
What charge level is that? The MBP will not initiate charging if the current charge level is 95% or higher.

So, if you are at 96%, for example, what you describe is normal. If you are below 93% and see this behavior, that's not normal - in that case, post back for next steps. -
I accidentally left my ipad 3 charging overnight (8.5 hrs) when it was already 50% charged. Is my battery ruined??
No, this will not harm the battery at all.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

So bring it to Apple for evaluation. Can you not figure that out by yourself?

Is there anyway to keep the Lightning charger from breaking?
Is there anyway to keep the Lightning charger from breaking? I've gone through 8 of these in less than 5 months. When I take it apart it looks like where the wires are connected to the actual lightning plug it is a very flimsy soldering job. It looks like it was made by people who were told don't waste your time. We want them to buy lots.
Haven't had any problems with my lightning charger nor do I know of anyone else who has.
Are you pulling the connector out by the cord? -
I have an ipad mini that won't power on. It was turned off to charge overnight. In the morning it was warm and now won't turn on no matter what I do. I've tried resetting using the power / home button combination and nothing works.
If you have owned the device, as in purchased from Apple, less than a year then there will be no charge to repair, or most likely, replace the device. If you have had the device more than a year you will be charged an out of warranty cost for replacement ($219 I think) and that is much cheaper than a new device. If you have Applecare+ then you have an additional year of coverage and the replacement will be $49 or $79 depending on when you got the Applecare.

TS1382 why does my ipod classic keep saying its charging and the back of it get hot
why does my ipod classic keep saying its charging and the back of it gets hot
The battery and/or charging circuit may be faulty. Reset the device and try again having let it cool down first.

iPad2 is dead...worked fine, then when I tried to use it an hour later, the screen was black. Home button did nothing; on/off button did nothing. Tried charging overnight...still does nothing at all. Also tried syncing with my desktop; still nothing. Got it in March and have never had an issue before this. Thanks.
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Should iPad be allowed to constantly run low before charging or is it best to keep it highly charged at most times?
Battery care
1. Make sure you run the battery down to 5% and then charging it to 100% once a month.
2. You should start charging your iPad when the battery charge is less than 10%. Over discharging the battery will shorten the lifespan of its battery.
3. Never store the battery fully discharged. Apply some charge before storage, and then charge fully before use.
4. When possible avoid frequent full discharges. Instead, charge the battery more often. There is no concern of battery's memory when applying unscheduled charges.
5. Avoid iPad from overheating > 35°.
6. Remove casing/sleeve when charging to allow heat to dissipate from back cover
7. To safe battery power turn off :
a. background app refreshing
b. push notifications and/or push mail
c. lower screen brightness
d. minimize the use of location services
e. increase Fetch New Data interval. -

Can iphone be left in the charger overnight
can iphone be left in the charger overnight?
I'm pretty sure you can't overcharge a BB either, at least not one in the past 5 years or so. The vast majority of existing rechargeable consumer devices are self-regulating.

So last night before i went to bed my iphone 4 was charging and it was at 6%.the next morning i woke up the phone said it had still been charging but was still at 6%. so i took it off and it died.now it wont come on.it keeps saying the charging sign. i tried rebooting and the charging sign just shows up. how can i fix it?
sounds like a hardware issue with the battery
1. you can try different chargers if you have any
2. while plugged in, Hold the Home+Power at the same time for about 20 secs, if the apple comes up then release both buttons
3.if that doesn't work you may have to go into Apple store
