Keeping Keynote from Taking Both Screens

I have an iMac (early 2009, w/Yosemite), and a separate monitor. I want to display my Keynote (version 6.5.2) presentation on the separate monitor and keep control of my iMac screen for running another program. However, once I start the Keynote presentation, the iMac screen is automatically taken over by the Presenter's slides function of Keynote.
I do not need the presenter to show on the iMac. I have our weekly church announcements scrolling as a Keynote presentation on the external monitor, and need to use the iMac screen from controlling our live stream broadcast.
Is there a way to keep Keynote running on the external monitor and not take over the iMac screen?

You could export the Keynote announcement loop as a QuickTime movie, and use QuickTime Player in the second display to show the loop.
Set up your presentation as normal, and then export it as a self-playing QuickTime movie. Open the file in QuickTime Player, drag it to your second display, and set it to Loop (Menu View:Loop or Opt-Cmnd-L). Make it full screen and you are off to the races
Two draw backs
1) Complicated (i.e. lots of transitions and animations) presentations make for very large QuickTime files (I created a 4 slide file, text only, with an animation on each slide and a transition between each: the Keynote file was under 500KB, the QuickTime video was 8.2 MB; you might be able to optimize that a bit by playing with resolution and minimizing animations).
2) Depending on your computer's processing power and RAM, QuickTime movies can be processor intensive to run - playback may be impacted if you are running other apps in the background.

I've been using Safari without a problem and now it started to take over my whole screen. How can I get back my Safari menus as the default setting -- I know I can get it at the top left corner. How can I make Safari not take over the whole screen??

Move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the window.
When directional double arrow appears drag it inwards.
The Safari window will become smaller. Adjust the window to fit the need.
Toolbars will be visible now.

Imac keeps rebooting from spinning gear screen

I'm trying to turn on my iMac. It makes the chime sound, then gets the Apple logo and spinning gear. The gear spins for a while, and I can hear the processor doing something. Then it goes silent and reboots, and the whole process starts itself over. Any suggestions?

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).

How do I keep TB from taking up excessive space on my hard drive?

My TB "All Mail" folder is using 24GB (versus only 4GB in Gmail). I can't find any NSTMP files to delete under imap.googlemail.com or anywhere else. Under imap.google.com there are only two folders -- [Gmail].sbd and INBOX.std. The latter folder is empty. Suggestions?

Which file(s) in your profile is/are the large one(s) then?
I don't think it makes much sense to subscribe to 'All Mail'. So if you don't really need it, you could simply unsubscribe from 'All Mail'.
When did you compact folders the last time?

180Gb keeps going from start up screen to black, over and over

I lost my used 180 GB classic for almost 6 months (turns out it was in my PJ drawer, who knew) and just now found it. I charged it for several hours and it was working great- Used it for a couple days...and then today I was playing one of the games, exited it, when to play a song, and it froze and shut off, showing me the Apple start up screen. I thought it was just randomly rebooting itself (my phone does that all the time), but instead it showed the apple screen for maybe 10 seconds, then went black, then went back to the apple screen, then black. It has literally been doing this for hours, no amount of resetting will change it- when I plug it into the computer all that happens is the backlight goes off and the apple screen just stays up. I can hear it humming and working really hard but...is there something else I can do??

As soon as the Apple logo appears hold down Select and Play. This should put the device in disk mode. You can then connect it to your computer and restore it.

SXCE snv_114 SRSS 4.1 multihead maximize across both screens

I have been running snv_104 for some time and several versions prior with success using SRSS 4.1.
This is a home setup (mostly to keep me current on Solaris, which we use at work).
Several attempts at upgrading past 104 have caused SRSS to quit working, but today I found [bug 6799655|http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6799655] , which claims to be fixed as of 110, but still is a problem in 114. At any rate, the workaround works and now SRSS is functioning.
The setup is an Acer laptop, 4GB RAM, dual-core 1.6 GHz Turion driving 3 desks, each having two Sunray 1 (earliest model) appliances. Most displays are 1280x1024.
After the upgrade to 114, the maximize button on any window maximizes it across BOTH screens, rendering the maximize function useless. Otherwise, all works as expected.

This is probably bug 6825001, "Xinerama primary display setting seems no longer be honored by GNOME/GTK+ applications". It's supposed to be fixed in snv_115.

Have you tried closing the two apps completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Safari or Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari and Mail apps to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Mine doesn't show anything in the CSS Designer panel when I make a selection in Code Vew. It will only pop up the css set for a given element if I select that element in Design View first. If I drill down using the Sources and Selectors sub windows in the CSS Designer panel itself, it works the same in both. I pretty much never use it, but it doesn't do what you're explaining in my version of DWCC, so I'd guess you may have some slight corruption in the program.
Unless, does it make a difference if you have Live View turned on or not?
You could try clearing the program cache/personal config folder: Deleting a corrupted cache file

I'm using a 2014 Macbook Air. It's running Yosemite.

On my older Macbook at work, calendar stays full screen whether I exit the app or restart the computer (similar to Mail - which is staying in full screen on both computers).
Please help me adjust settings so I don't have to keep putting Calendar into full screen.

HI Thanks so much! It fixed porblem (for the moment) by reinstalling PS6 and NOT installing the 13.03 update which, although said it was performance related, probaly had that trial messge embeded in it. So just DON"T install update 13.03 till adobe gets it's sea legs and stops puking up this message over and over. aloha, U

Please help me out as this is very irritating. This has been happening for the last 20-30 minutes. It had roughly half battery left.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Give this a Try:
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can clear some glitches.
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device without using the latest backup.
