Keeping older appointments in Outllok during sync

Hi,
During  a sync, every now and then the Desktopmanager wants to delete a large number of past appointments in both outlook as well as my BB. For my BB it's fine but I would like to keep them in outlook for review purposes. Is this possible ? I can not seem to find it in the settings.
Kind regards,

Thanks, Allan for your prompt and detailed response.
I'll comment directly to your points:
If you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading an app with your iPhone the app should be copied to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
*** Yep, I can see that - done it many tines latelty, as I hesitate to update by downloading apps to the computer and then sync to the phone, for fear of replacing the French version of the app with the English one! ***
Did you update this formally in-French version of the app with iTunes on your computer and it was replaced with the in-English version? If these are separate apps, it shouldn't be a problem.
*** Yes indeed. However, I am not sure they ended up being two different apps. Doubt it in a way! The Animal Book app is now qualified as "in English now" ***
You can delete the English version from your iTunes library on your computer. If the app is not in your iTunes library on your computer, the version on your iPhone can't be replaced with that version regardless your settings.
*** That seems the route I'd like to try first. So, if I can delete the app in iTunes on the computer, presumably syncing will restore the French version of the app from the iPhone to iTunes/computer. HOW do i really delete the English version of the app from iTunes? Just checking it off before syncing? Would not that takie is out also from the iPhone when I sync?
Thanks for your help: I do not want to loose the French version of this app, no way to replace it!

  • Playlists lost during syncing process

I was updating my ipod touch recently, and when I went to check that everything was updated correctly, I found that the update had deleted all of my playlists!
The playlists are all still there in my itunes library on my computer, so I haven't lost them, but I cannot figure out how to get them back on the ipod itself.
I have an 8g ipod, so I often have to delete some older songs when I download new music. So before it started updating, it gave the notice that I had music on my ipod that wasn't on my itunes, and asked if I wanted to transfer, and I said no. But other than that (which I have done before and never had problems with), there was nothing different that I did before or during syncing.
Has anybody else had this issue? I'm very big on playlists, so I would really really like to get them back, and have no idea how to go about it since I have no idea how it happened!
Thanks so much in advance for any responses!

The same thing has just happened to my ipod, I only have Genius and On-the-go!
Have you had any luck getting yours back?

How do I move purchased movies from itunes to the icloud?
Delete them from the local computer.  Nothing gets moved.  If the content was purchased from iTunes it should be available for download again in the future.

If the device is synced with iTunes on the computer and the content is deleted from iTunes it will also be removed from the device.
Realistically, if you want to keep the content, keep it stored locally.  Purchase an external drive to store the content on.  Keep in mind that iOS devices are NOT backup devices, they merely mirror the content in the iTunes library on the computer.

  • Itunes will only sync a portion of my music since i have installed the newest update.  It keeps telling me it can not sync my Ipod due to a duplicate file name.  Any suggestions?

I am trying to get some advice as to why my Ipod will not completely sync since I updated Itunes.  Itunes keeps telling me it can not sync my Ipod due to a duplicate file name?  It will sync some of my songs but not all of them.  Any thoughts?

Most likely the iPod filesystem is corrupted, during a partial sync, that freeze due to a timeout.
In My Computer, select the iPod, right click Properties->Tools->Check Now
tick both Fix filesystem and scan.for bad sectors.
This will fix the duplicate name error.
    Good Luck!

  • Unplugging during sync

so if my little bar in itunes for backup gets stuck and i cancel the sync through my ipod the loading thing keeps going. I was told unplugging my ipod without pressing eject is bad for my ipod is that true?

It is not good and it complicates getting the iPod operational. Typically if you unplug during syncing you need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod.

  • On my ipad 2 I can't "see" the hundreds of spoken audio tracks that are in my itunes and on my ipod touch. Is there something I didn't do during sync up?

On my ipad 2 I can't "see" the hundreds of spoken audio tracks that are in my itunes and on my ipod touch. Is there something I didn't do during sync up? The tracks are from voice recordings that were downloaded from an extrernal drive and weren't necessarily tagged as spoken audio. Do I need to go back into itunes and relabel these tracks so they will show up on my ipad2?
Thanks in advance for your help!

With the iPad connected to the computer, while iTunes is running, click on the iPad name on the left side under devices. Click on the Movies tab and look for Movie Rentals. You want to "Move" the films to the iPad.

Then restore the iPod.  First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

    Solutions?

No, I never really found an easy solution.  I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device.  In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs.  A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup.  It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad.  But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost.  When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might.  If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it.  I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by.

  • Disk could not be read from or written to during syncing to iPod touch

    Hi there,
I just got the iPod touch 16gb. When I try to sync videos to the iPod, it will ultimately stop and give me the error about disk not be read from or written to during syncing. In addition, when the iPod charging battery logo and the whole screen for that matter go blank, iTUNES displayed an error message of Device has timed out. Thus, I have to close and reopen iTUNES to sync new music or video files. This didn't happen with my iPod video 30gb. It seems like the device times out so quickly. It is annoying. Anyway, please offer any suggestions. Thank you.

I'm having the same synching problem. It looks like file size is a factor. Most of my music library transfered over ok, but only after I de-selected podcasts and videos.
The movie file I'm testing with is 1.2 GB. It gets about 7/8's of the way, progress stops, and then a dialog opens saying that the disc can not be read from or written to.
When moving just music the Touch consistently gets through 263 songs (2.38 GB) of 275 songs (2.70 GB). It seems to miss the long audiobooks.
Interestingly my 1st gen 2 GB Nano is also having the same error "can not be read from or written to" when I synch my podcasts. In disc mode I can copy over the 1.2 GB movie no problem.
Any help would be appreciated. I would really like to stick some movies on the Touch.
