Keeping the iPad screen smudge-free

Hi everyone, can you tell me how YOU keep your iPad screen clean? Mine gets very smudged with fingerprints in an instant. I have a cover for it, but still... what should I use? Look forward to speedy, helpful replies,,, ta.

A cotton cloth will retain dirt and itself will scratch the screen over time. Best to use a microfiber cloth.
+"Microfiber is unsuitable for some cleaning applications as it accumulates dust, debris, and particles. Or try following this advice:
"It isn’t the iPad – it’s you. I was having the same problem. So many smudges, it was making me sick to think my fingertips were so greasy. But after using it for 3 weeks now, I’ve realized, I’ve been touching it too hard. It only needs a very light tap, way lighter than you think. Way, way, way lighter. Try usIng the most gentle touch you can imagine. I mean, the barest, almost not touching, little tiny tap. And try using the very tip of your finger, not the pad. Jut the tip, right beneath the fingernail, not the fingerprint part. Same was with scrolling. Don’t drag your fingertip, just barely flick it. Reduces smudges by 90 per cent." (Source)
Or give up and use this as your iPad's wallpaper:

• Airplay streaming stops when you turn off the iPad screen

Hi All,
If you are streaming something from your iPad using Airplay, and you hit the button to turn off the iPad screen, it seems that the streaming stops...
Is there any way to fix that? I mean, if you are watching a long video, for example, you don't want your iPad to remain on the whole time.
Any advice?
- Thanx
- Jon

Jon-
You are saying the AirPlay App does not work when the iPad goes to sleep. Other Apps do, including the Music App, so you might expect AirPlay to work as well.
Another limit may be the timer setting at Settings-General-Auto Lock. Mine is set to 5 Minutes by default. You may need to set yours to Never, to keep the iPad from sleeping while streaming.
I suggest you provide feedback to Apple at <iPad Feedback>.

• Should I keep the iPad or throw out my annoying tablet

First when I got hrp my iPad 3 I was blown away with the retina display ans the design on the other hand the Samsung tablet Desighn was good and I don't need my fingers to touch the screen but is not 100% reyclable it's actually 20%. And if I do throw it out I'm just wasting money. Please help

I have no idea what you are actually asking!
Should I keep the iPad or throw out my annoying tablet
By "tablet", do you mean the Samsung, or are you now referring to the iPad as a tablet?
but is not 100% reyclable it's actually 20% - and your point is?
if I do throw it out I'm just wasting money - if you throw out something that works, simply because it's less recyclable then something else, then yes, you are wasting your money - and negating the value of re-cycling!
I'm not sure what "help" you need, nor what advice you expect anyone here to give, but if you want to chuck out either an iPad, or a Samsung tablet, send it to me!

• After downloading an app and later trying to open the app, the iPad screen turns green and nothing happens

After downloading an app, then later trying to open it again, the iPad screen turns green and nothing happens. How can I fix this?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sifnout and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

• Is there any possibilities that the ipad screen get enlarged?

Hello,
For starter, I would like to say that I don't own a tablet yet.
Now for the real question, with the new technologies everyday and with all the competition between the companies, is apple going to enlarge the size of the ipad screen or do they see it fine as it is?
Its because every year or every 6 months there is a new product coming and the competition between the brands are getting higher and I cannot afford to change a product every year so how long should the ipad lives with me? And why I should choose Apple? (Beside the below message)
What I liked about the Apple is the quality of built and apps, but in other brands I am finding larger screens higher performance and an external slot for an SD card to expand the memory.
Thank you

Nobody here knows Apples future plans.
You can use an iPad for as long as you want. Nobody forces you to buy a new one every year. Apple usually provides OS updates to older devices for at least a few years.
Buy the tablet that suits your needs best.

How do I keep the iPad 2 on while using it so it won't go off, making have to push the buttons to get back to where I was?

Open the Settings app > General > AutoLock - set to Never. You will, howver, want to get in the habit of manually putting it to sleep with the on/off button.

• Turning off the iPad screen when synchronizing with the iTunes

Quick question: How do I turn off the iPad screen when synchronizing with the iTunes. Is this even possible? Are there settings I am overlooking? Or perhaps a third-party app which can make it happen?
I have a large library and often leave my iPad connected to iTunes for several hours at a stretch. The bright glowing screen can be a big distraction, and, more importantly I am very worried about pixel burn-in.
Cheers,

The iPad LED Backlit IPS Screen is not phosphor-based, so there is no permanent phosphor burn-in problem. You might see some image persistence, but that is not permanent and can be corrected. See this support article about image persistence: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2807
Since you have already converted your music to 128 kbps, you are unlikely to see any more 10+ hour syncs unless you have to do a restore. In that event, you could select the brightness control in settings to the lowest level.
FYI, there are some apps, such as Night stand HD that are designed to be used for long periods with unvarying displays and I have yet to see image persistence problems reported. However, since the iPad is still a new product, there may be some reports in the future.

• The Pages Full Screen option is the iPad screen!

I haven't heard anyone mention this, but I think Apple did something very smart with the last iteration of Pages as a set up to Pages for iPad.
For those of us who dream of having a writing station as small and light as the iPad, the real question is: Can this really work as an alternative to a laptop? Well, here are three ways Apple has already groomed us for this transition:
1. They added a keyboard dock, which of course makes real, lengthy writing sessions possible.
2. They put a version of Pages on the iPad.
3. Third, the Pages Full Screen mode on your current computer (if a laptop) looks an awful lot like the iPad screen. When I take my MacBook into Full Screen, the dimensions of the writing screen are almost identical to what I would have on an iPad. In other words, I am already typing on that narrow screen!
What do you think? [Sure, this isn't really a problem-solving question, but this is a discussion forum, no?]

The question is whether the iPad screen is built to US Quarto (used by 5% of the planet) or to the International standard A4.
The proportions seem to suggest that the design is USA only.

• Does it adversely effect the battery to keep the IPad plugged in when fully charged?

Does it adversely effect the battery to keep the IPad plugged in when fully charged?

Copied from Texas Mac Man ...
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
