Keeping track of oracle E-Business Suite Customization(Personalization/Cus)
Hi,
I am preparing a document to keep track of all the customizations done an oracle E-Business Suite.
This will be useful for the team during upgrade to higher versions to track down the customization.
Kindly let me know what are the things we should keep in this document related to customization.
These are the things comes to my mind for now for each customization done.
- Application Area
- Form/Report/jsp page
- table/plsql/view/sql
- Descripton
- Changed behavior
- etc ( Please, post some more things to be taken care. With your sharing it can be a standard document to follow for any customization)
Your participation is highly appriciated.
Thanks
Hi,
I can also suggest you to use Change Request Management in this regard. You can use the standard Change Request Form for this purpose.
You can refer the following formats for developing the form,
[Scope Change Request Form|http://www.scribd.com/doc/2218577/Scope-Change-Request-Form]
[Download Change Request Form|http://www.gantthead.com/deliverables/Change-Request-Form.html]
[CRM Form Format|http://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=6&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nic.edu%2Fmodules%2Fimages%2Fwebsites%2F16%2FFormatChangeRequestFormnew.doc&ei=vJtISuvXK9PdsgavnZXXCQ&usg=AFQjCNG5pcAju5A1gOHNTMQdP-5fIrEJmw&sig2=YwZLzuObw6nBWQwmk_6sHA]
Hope this could help you in developing a CRM Form.
Thanks,

Does Oracle E-business suite R12 use bind variables?
Hello,
We have Oracle E-business suite R12 and database 10.2.0.3.
I was just wondering does E-business suite R12 use bind variables?
We have recently purchased Toad and Spotlight, in Spotlight we keep getting an alarm raised for Parse SQL requests (Library cache latches alert) When I've researched into this the recommendation is to try to improve the use of bind variables within your application.
Please could someone help me answer this?
Thank you
SarahHi,
I was just wondering does E-business suite R12 use bind variables? Yes it uses bind variables. You can trace a concurrent program and get the tkprof to check it.
We have recently purchased Toad and Spotlight, in Spotlight we keep getting an alarm raised for Parse SQL requests (Library cache latches alert) When I've researched into this the recommendation is to try to improve the use of bind variables within your application. You can not make every conc. program or sql use bind variables. Some times it is not possible so.

URGENT : JDEVELOPER 10.1.3 and customizing Oracle e-Business suite
URGENT: Can any one advice me with any pointers on how to open/customize the Pages (Oracle e-business suite pages related Developer 9.x ) using JDeveloper 10.1.3 (ADF framework).
1. JDeveloper 10.1.3 supports JSPX and other pages and deploy those pages into server. Where as JDeveloper 9.x stores those pages in Database (for Oracle E-business suite) as Regions.
But, Oracle always provides backward compatibilities. So, how can we change these JDeveloper 9.x JRAD/AK Region pages using JDeveloper 10.1.3 (AD framework)?

OAF is different than ADF, Oracle E-Biz pages are still in OAF, even with Jdev 10.1.3, they are not in ADF.Thanks

Oracle E-Business Suite Won't start after reboot.
Hi,
I have installed Oracle E-Business Suite Version 12.1.1.9 with Oracle Database 1.1.0.7.0 on OEL 5 Update 5. Everything works perfectly after the installation, I am able to log in to the database and log in to the website at http://<hostname>.<domainname>:80nn.
So here is my problem, after I reboot the server and try to log back into the website I get this screen.
500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
I know many other people have gotten this issue and I've been trying to debug it for a while but no luck.
Hussein mentions to run the autoconfig on both application and database tier but when I do that it completes with errors.
I even tried running the autoconfig on a newly installed Oracle EBS without rebooting it and the autoconfig still completes with errors.
Also, I looked into the apache log files, I checked the error_log and it says file not found: favicon.ico. So, I added that file but the error_log just doesnt show anymore errors but the website still does not work.
Can I get some more ways of solving this issue? Any help would be awesome.
Thanks in advance guys.

Report won't print to the end of width in Oracle E-Business Suite
Hello all,
I desperately need help to setup Reports 6i layout. I created a report for a 8.3 x 11.69" and it seems fine when I print directly from Reports Developer but when I register it in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 it won't print to the end of page width. It always cut the print in about 3/4 of page width. I already setup the report as a text and pdf but still no success. Enlarge the width and height of the report won't help either. Anyone can suggest something to help? Thanks.Hi Clamarion,

API for creating new User in Oracle E-Business Suite through BPEL
Hello,
I would like to use a BPEL process to create a new User in Oracle E-Business Suite. In the Integration Repository I was able to find an API called FND_USER_PKG/LOAD_ROW that creates/updates Application's User data. Is this the API I should be using? If so, I would like to better understand how to use this API.
I have created a simple BPEL process and added an Oracle Application Service, which uses this FND_USER_PKG/LOAD_ROW API. I set the following parameter before Invoking the Oracle Application Service: X_USER_NAME, X_ENCRYPTED_USER_PASSWORD and X_START_DATE. When I run the BPEL process I get the following error. I suspect that I am not passing all the required input parameters. Does anyone have any sample data I can use to get this API to load correctly? If I am using the wrong API, please let me know.
Please note, I have also posted this question to the SOA Suite and BPEL discussion forums...
Thank you kindly!
Christine

I have made the following changes in BPEL based on your recommendation: 1) Added Oracle Application Service and used the API, LDAP_WRAPPER_CREATE_USER, found in the Oracle Application Module Browser* under: Applications Technology (ATG_PF)> User Management (UMX)> User (FND_USER)> PLSQL> User (FND_USER_PKG)> LDAP_WRAPPER_CREATE_USER
2) Set the following parameter prior to Invoking the Oracle App Service: X_USER_NAME, X_UNENCRYPTED_PASSWORD,X_START_DATE, X_END_DATE, X_DESCRIPTION, X_EMAIL_ADDRESS, X_FAX, X_EXPIRE_PWD.
3) Deploy and run BPEL through BPEL Control.
I get the following {color:#ff0000}error on the Invoke{color}. {color:#339966}Do you see any issues with the values I am passing in the input{color}? Any idea why I am getting this error? Is there anything that I need to have configured for the API to work correctly, other than adding an Oracle Application Service in the BPEL?
Thank you for your time,
Christine

Oracle E-Business Suite integration is failing with OSSO
Hi all,
We are integration EBS 12.1.1 with OSSO 10g (OID 10.1.4.3) using txkrun.pl script. This is a production environment and has 2 nodes of OID and 2 nodes of Database in RAC mode. When we run the txkrun.pl script we are getting the below error:
Mon Dec 13 15:06:38 GMT+05:30 2010 SSO database is jdbc:oracle:thin:@ldap://oid_hostName:389/idmprod,cn=oraclecontext

Mon Dec 13 15:06:38 GMT+05:30 2010 Check if your database is up and running.
The DB is up and running and we are able to telnet the OID ports from EBS machine. Please let me know if anyone has faced this error before.
This is very urgent and appreciate your quick response.
Thanks,
Mahendra. If you are running Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 and integrating with OID 11g, you will also need to download and install TXK patch 7651166, which provides several fixes to Applications Technology code, including an update to the Oracle E-Business Suite OID registration scripts that adds support for OID 11g. The patch should be applied to all Oracle E-Business Suite middle tier nodes. This patch is not required if you are integrating with any other version of Oracle E-Business Suite.

BI Publisher with Oracle e-Business Suite 11i in EBS security mode
Seems I submitted below in wrong forums earlier so posing to correct one now. Appreciate any help.
Hi All,
I want to configure BI Publisher that comes as a part of OBIEE in Oracle E-Business Suite security mode. My Oracle E-Business Suite 11i runs on 3 node RAC database and 3 node apps tier/cm tier. As per configuration guide, I changed security mode in BIP to 'Oracle E-Business' and uploaded DBC file from E-business suite Web&Forms tier. In DBC file TWO_TASK parameter has value of test_806_BALANCE which is just an alias in tnsnames.ora for load balancing. Now when I go to BI publisher and click on 'Roles and Permission' tab in security center, it gives me 500 Internal server error.
But if I change this TWO_TASK value to any particular RAC instance sid, I am able to see all responsibility in Roles and Permission tab. This seems that BI Publisher makes jdbc connection url to database on the fly by reading DB_HOST, dB_Port and TWO_TASK parametes from dbc file and due to this my BI Publisher is single point of failure if the RAC instance goes down which I mentioned in DBC file. Even though E-Business Suite is in HA, BI publisher is not taking advantage of this HA db.
Any one has idea how to over come this situation. You can try for a luck by posting the thread in BI Publisher Section of this Forum..

Oracle E-Business Suite Certification on Linux x86-64
Hello all,
I have some questions about certification for Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 on Linux x86-64.
I have two 64-bit servers and intend to do a split configuration.
From the certification (Certify/View Certifications by Product/E-Business Suite/E-Business Suite 11i and Earlier/Platform Selection: Database Tier Only) I understand the following:
I must have the Application Tier running on Linux-x86 and the Database Tier may be either on Linux-x86 or Linux-x86-64.
Is this correct?
Should I install RHES4 for 32bit on the Application Server and RHES4 for 64bit on de Database Server?
or
Should I install RHES4 for 64bit on both servers and install the 32bit Applications software on the Application Server?
How should I ask for the software I need? From the E-Delivery web site I don't have the 64bit option for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.10.2.
Is EBS allways for 32bit no matter the OS ?
Thank you very much.

Is EBS allways for 32bit no matter the OS ?It is always 32-bit but it could comes in 64-bit for the database part. You would find such a media for Solaris for example "Oracle® Applications 11i Release 10.2 for Solaris Operating System (SPARC 32-bit) with Solaris Operating System (SPARC 64-bit) Oracle® Database" but not for Linux Intel 64-bit.
Just get the media for Linux x86, install it, then consider having Oracle 10g 64-bit on the database tier.
