Keeps asking me to install latest version of flash?
Hi,
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, but using the 32bit version of IE9. I have installed the Flash player 11.0.1.152, but I can't view videos on youtube or just about anywhere else. It keeps asking me to install the latest version of flash. I uninstalled then reinstalled it, but still not working.
I'm not sure if this started when I upgraded to IE9 not that long ago, or if it's unrelated to that...
Any help would be much appreciated, I'm not really tech savvy!
Thanks,
Amanda

Keep having to install latest version of flash
...only to have it not working. I tried uninstalling and re-installing. It looks like it is there, the files are there and yet it still does not work. Whenever I get to a webpage that requires flash it tells me to install latest version. We have installed this at least 6 times. I am unable to find solutions on here either.

I'm trying to install the latest version of Flash (filename install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih.exe), browser = Firefox 14 (current), OS = Windows XP. I've tried multiple times, making sure to disable Norton Antivirus Autoprotect first.
At some point along the process - either during download or during installation - I get the following error message:
Internet Explorer Script Error
Line: 1
Char: 10010
Error: 'ActionLaunchAdobe' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: http://127.0.0.1:1174/app/_js/adobe.js
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? [yes] [no]
Whether I answer [yes] or [no] the result is the same - the program hangs. It does not close, and when I close it manually it asks if I really want to stop it. But if I leave it there, nothing happens.
Per advice of the website, I uninstalled Flash in order to start over fresh. What that means is that, instead of having an outdated version of Flash, I now have none.
I've tried to RTFM but searches for this error come up empty. I'm curious why Internet Explorer is being involved in this to begin with. But mostly, I'm just curious how to get this thing to work.
Thanks for whatever help you can give me.
DaveWe're investigating this issue and we'd like to get some additional details. I'd appreciate if anyone experiencing these errors could do the following steps:
Download the Flash Player installer
Open a command prompt and navigate to the installer location (eg. "cd c:\users\username\downloads\")
Run the installer, using a “/debug”.argument (eg. “install_flashplayer11x32ax_chrd_aih.exe /debug”)
Once the installer runs and the error is reproduced, a file named “host.developer.log” will be created in your system’s temp folder.
You can quickly access the temp folder by clicking on Start > Run, then type "%temp%".
Locate the "host.developer.log" file and either post the contents in a reply or send directly to [email protected]
Along with the debug log, please include the following info:
Operating System (if you're on XP, what service pack do you have installed)
Browser
Network proxy setup (if applicable)
Thanks!

I am trying to install the latest version of flash into my Windows 7 OS but when I hit install I get a message saying that the file sliptr.dll is missing. I thought it might have been CCleaner causing problems with registry cleanup but I have re-installed my reg backup. I have found one person asking for help in Win forums but without result. Can someone help with this please before I go mad! Thanks.

Can't download and install latest version of Flash...
I have tried several times to download and install the latest version of Flash player. It says it's downloaded, shows me that it's installing, then, when I click "Finish", it takes me to a website that says "Step 3 of 3", but is otherwise blank. I continue to see an error message on websites that require Flash; the error message tells me that Flash is out of date. Not sure how that's possible, since I just (supposedly) downloaded and installed the latest version from the website. I have walked through all of the troubleshooting steps on the Adobe site, with no luck. It's quite frustrating. What else can I do?

After pressing "Run" button to install latest version of Flash nothing happens.
I have the latest version of Firefox, and have Windows XP 32-bit. Opened computer yesterday, got box telling me to update to latest version of Flash (11.6.602.158). Went to Adobe screen to download, pressed open from download, pressed "Run" in "Run" box and nothing happened. I waited an extra bit of time to see if perhaps to see if the install would take place. No install. Can't get past "Run". Went to Add-on Manager. Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502 is active.
In the past Flash has seemlessly updated without a glitch. What can I do to get the latest version of Shockwave Flash to get past "Run" ie to install, as it has in the past? Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.Download the Flash

I have a desktop computer- MAC. When I am looking for information or pulling up games for my grandkids, it will say I need to download the latest version of dobe Flash Player to view. I have downloaded this numerous times yet it still does not allow me to view. What am I doing wrong?
Could be the OS X version is too old for the later recommended Flash player version.
So this is where knowing what your computer really is, and the exact OS X version running in it. There is a hardware limit to upgrading the OS X in a PowerPC Mac with a ceiling of OS X 10.5.8 at the latest. This also limits the upgrade to a later version Adobe Flash player.
If the computer is not an older PPC-based Mac, and instead has an Intel core-duo or core2duo, an upgrade to OS X 10.6.8 is possible through purchase of the retail Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD and after installation, run Software Update to get the 10.6.8 Combo update v1.1 for Snow Leopard. This will not work on a PowerPC based Mac.
Should the computer be able to run a later OS X, a newer Player could be installed.
If the ceiling as suggested above be the case, and the workaround possible.
The question posed by Klaus is a minimal request for basic info.
Good luck

From my understanding, all new Macs have Apple Hardware Test built in directly to the EFI. Does this also apply to the Mid-2009 MacBook? I tried holding 'D' on startup but just ended up with a white screen. Is there a different keystroke?
