Keeps asking to open/save the same Adobe Reader X installer file everytime at startup

Tried to update Reader X after Plug-in checker found installed version out of date. Encountered "Download Configuration Failed" error after downloading and executing installer (turns out effing Adobe has known about this problem since mid July but has chosen to continue with providing this installer on their download site). Following Adobe Support instructions, uninstalled Reader and tried again but without success. Finally found another link on Adobe Support for another installer which worked.
However, now when I start up Firefox, a pop-up will appear saying that "You have chosen to open "install_reader10_en_air_mssd_aih.exe" ... would you like to save this file?" (the same bad installer file) even though I have saved it a few times already to try to get rid of the pop-up. This happens at EVERY start-up.

Try using a different web browser. I was having this same problem when I was using Firefox, but then tried it in Opera and it worked like it was supposed to. I guess Adobe was in too much of a rush to release another product that they neglected to make sure it worked...They would get an 'F' in a software engineering course.

I keep updating my software but it keeps asking me to update the same things

My computer asks me to install the updates. i click update 12 items. After my computer restarts, it asks me to update the same 12 items again. I have done this 5 times. What do i do now?

When opening a VI, it keeps asking me to locate the same VI.

I have been given a couple of VI's and several subVI's to modify. When I try opening the VI's I get a prompt to "Please find the VI named ..." asking for the same VI over and over again. This continues until I hit cancel, in which case the VI does not open at all. Please help me diagnose/resolve this. Thanks.

I have seen your post on other questions and understand that you have a problem which has not been resolved. However, it is not clear that the problem which artoon is having is the same problem which you are having. I understand your frustration as I have been victim of corrupted files in the past due to crashes, but this forum is not designed for you to vent your frustrations. This forum is made up of people like you who are LabVIEW programmers and are willing to take a little time out of their busy schedule to help out a fellow programmer. Unfortunately some questions do not have an easy answer. Please allow artoon to answer these questions for himself so that we can see if he is having the same problem as you are.

Can ADF keep multiple pages open at the same time?

My company is currently developing an application to upgrade a client's FORMS system to one based on ADF. One of our client's biggest complaints with the new technology is that he can't work on many tasks at the same time, because our application can't work with "tabs" or "different windows", like Forms can with the "open form ()" function.
Currently, we use a page called "main.jspx" with the main menu and a region under it, where we load all the "jsff" pages, which do all the different tasks in their systems (like autorizeBuyOrder.jsff, createNewOrder.jsff, etc...).
Right now, I can only have one "jsff" page loaded on the region at once, and I wanted to make my application able to load and keep track of as many as the user wants. I was thinking on something like a tabs system, or multiple windows system. Does ADF provide any elegant way to do this? Any material you can recommend me?

Creative Cloud keeps asking me to update the same applications

I've updated my Photoshop and Illustrator application three times today..even afte rrestart and logging in & out it just keeps telling me I have new updates for these. This isn't the end of the world, but it's annoying because I want to be able to trust the notifier when there's somethign new for me to download.

I've got the same issue. It's been happening for weeks and I haven't seen a reply from Adobe. This should be a trivial problem to fix and the fact that it hasn't been fixed speeks volumes about Adobe support. If this is how customers are going to be treated then I'm going to find an alternative product.
I uninstalled everything today and installed from scratch. Bridge got fixed and no longer tells me I need to update it, but Photoshop still tells me I have an update.
This is happening on a 15" Macbook Pro Retina on OS X 10.9.1.

How come mavericks keeps asking me to download the same software update?

since i've download mavericks, i have had issues with the app app. i can't get the latest update for imovie and i keep getting the same alert to download maverick's firmware and thunderbolt updates even though i have already downloaded those files numerous times. anyone else having the same problem?
any suggestions?

The solution is to delete /Library/Printers/hp/Frameworks/HPSmartX.framework and re-install the HP package once.

IPhoto keeps asking me to confirm the same faces.

This is a strange one.
Every time I goto faces I see the same faces from the same 26 photos asking to be identified. Every time I confirm them with the relevant people and then continue onto faces.
I close iPhoto properly with no crashes and then when I load iPhoto for the next time I am presented with the same problem.

Let me add my voice. Same problem here, but some 1600 faces. Every time I finish identifying quite a number of them and come back later to go ahead with the identification, I see the same faces again. I am not amused.

FIrefox won't let me save the same website to multiple bookmark files

I am using Firefox 19.0 on a MacBook Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.2
I tried to bookmark a website in multiple folders. For example, this website had information about gardening, cleaning and beauty. I bookmarked it first in my gardening folder, then I changed the name of the bookmark and tried to save the site to my cleaning folder. I changed the name again and tried to save the site to my beauty folder. When I went back to check if it had worked, the site was not bookmarked in the gardening and cleaning folders, but was bookmarked in the beauty folder. I don't understand why I can't bookmark the same page in multiple folders. I may not think to look in the Beauty folder for information on gardening.

This has come up a few times before. Not sure whether all these old tricks work in the latest Firefox, but please take a look.

HT6030 My macbook keeps asking me to download the same updates

My Macbook updated to Maverick and all the other random updates started to follow. I have currently seemed to hit a setback. For the past three days iphoto and imovie have been trying to update but never seem to get close to finishing. Oddly I can install a new app or download a third party app without waiting for days. I deleted both updates in progress so they could restart the process but it is still slow. Also the update to gmail for maverick has installed twice already. A third installation is waiting to install according to the app store. Should there be three?

LOV dialog opening in the same page

Hi all,
I have a page with a selectInputText that opens a LOV.
the navigation rule starts with the "dialog:" prefix, the selectInputText action is set to that rule.
I'm using mozilla firefox 2.0.0.6; the popup blocking is disabled.
But the LOV is opening in the same page.
Does anyone has any suggestions or solutions for this problem.

selectInputText doesn't have a useWindow property, anyway I added a button and set his useWindow to true, and the action to the LOV navigation rule, and still when clicking the button the LOV opens in the same window.

How do i do the replacement by reading from a file ?

The multibyte representation in cloumn 2 in the input file is encoded in UTf8 format.
I have the code to get the code point value from a multibyte representation.
But i am not sure how to do the same when reading from a file.
A better explanation of the requirement is like this,
I have a java program ,i have a String="test";
I traverse the string
on encountering the character 't' i read from the input file ,the input file has the characters m to z listed in it, and it also has the UTF8 encoded multibyte representation in it.
I then read from the file
I search the file to get he character 't'
on gettin the character 't' i get the corresponding multibyte representation from the input file
Then i get the unicode code point value for the multibyte representation that i got from the input file.
Lastly i replace the character 't' in the string with the unicode code point value 3046
Hope the requirement is clear

How to open Adobe ID CC in 2 different computers with the same Adobe ID?

I'm normaly using InDesign CC in my desktop. Now, I need to open this application in my laptop using the same Adobe ID and account. How can I do it?. I downloaded the InDesign CC in the laptop and gave me a 30 days trial period. When I try to license the software it ask for a license serial number which I do not have. It doesn't give me the option os licensing using my Adobe ID and password.
What should I do? Should I keep using the software till the end of the trial period?.

Go to your Creative Cloud admin page using a browser on the laptop and sign-in there to CC using your CC-code.

On a MBP with Mavericks how do I get the Save As dialog box to open at the same size and place at which it was last closed and used to happen before Mavericks?

Before I upgraded my MBP to Mavericks, the Save As dialog box would reopen at the same size and position as it was when last closed. Now with Mavericks it always opens in the same position at a very small size. Is there a way to make it reopen at the last place and size at which it was closed?

I have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
This is what I did and what I believe I have:
1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.
