Keeps hanging up in the middle of calls...

My brand new iPhone 4 keeps on hanging up in the middle of phone calls. It started approx 2 weeks after I got it. Can anybody tell me if this is a hw or sw problem with the iPhone? and it is not due to poor signal, nor is it due to the proximity-sensor, as it keeps on doing it even when using the headset! (and the phone on the sofa table)
It is not with regular intervals, and not during every call.
Best regars,
Robert

its hard for us to say whether its hardware or software it could be either
to be honest these are the solutions that may or may not work..
first thing I would try is rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 15 seconds until you see the white apple logo
if that doesn't work I would restore from backup and if that doesn't work I would restore as new if all else fails take it to your closest apple store they may replace the phone for a working one..

  • Z1s Hangs up in the Middle of Calls

Has anyone has their phone hang up in the middle of a call?  I lock my screen when I make or receive a call so I don't accidentally hit the end button.  I use it for business calls and hanging up in the middle of a meeting can be an issue.  Any ideas as to why/how this would happen

I have exactly the same problem. almost every call ends with a hang-up or that the "mute" button is pressed - that happens all the time.... I don't know what to do- can anyone sugggest anything? I had mini galaxi before and never had this problem- I can't use this phone for calls only if i use the speaker (which my friends say is horrible) or as a tablet - very disappointing!

  • Firefox keeps shutting down in the middle of my sessions. Why?

Firefox keeps shutting down in the middle of my sessions. This is very annoying. What is the fix?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Casio Brigade rebooting in the middle of calls and getting more frequent.

My Casio Brigade reboots in the middle of calls. It was usually preceded by a humming noise but it is happening more frequently and no longer hums just reboots. The battery is fine and has a normal life. The phone has never been dropped or wet (the Brigade is supposed to withstand both anyway). No, I do not have access to another phone so Verizon can tell me to reset it. I already reset and it didn't help. I programmed it again yesterday so it is up-to-date. Only reboots during calls (for now). Occasional dropped calls are expected but rebooting is not acceptable!
    Can anyone help?

It is an awesome phone....if it worked right. I love the keyboard and the ruggedness of this phone. If only it wouldn't reboot in the middle of calls and/or Verizon had a solution that worked. It had this problem since day one and they had me reset it several times. It was OK for awhile. Then it started again but infrequently so I just lived with it. But now, it was every other call. I tried resetting it again several times and it is now out of warranty, of course. The last tech guy told me to uninstall all of the programs like navigator and backup assistant and THEN reset it. But it wouldn't let me remove backup assistant.
Anyway, I am back on my old phone that I only stopped using because of the poor sound quality. But, I guess I'll have to live with it until my contact for the other phone is up. ... NEXT JUNE. I believe this to be a software issue.. The phone itself is probably great. Good luck.
Oh, I also learned that it is more prudent to buy an unlocked dual-mode phone that accommodates both GSM and CDMA so that your phone will be usable if you decide to switch to another carrier. Verizon is about the only one using CDMA now. If you want a Verizon phone, get one that is "global ready". They have both modes. Hope it helps...

  • Phone Dropping out of Bluetooth in the middle of calls???

I just bought a Jabra bluetooth headset and paired it with my Droid 2. Seems to work great.... for about 1 minute.... and then the Droid inexplicably disconnects from bluetooth - even in the middle of a call! I go back into settings and have to re-enable blue-tooth. What gives? I'm on a dang call!!! Why is it doing this? How am I supposed to be "hands free" if the stupid phone keeps dropping blue tooth?

    Hi.
Have you been able to successfully pair, and use your Bluetooth?  Do you know the exact Bluetooth that you have?  Are they both fully charged when using?  If you still need assistance, please send me a Private Message and I will be happy to further assist you.
    Thank you,

  • My iPod classic (160 gb) keeps pausing randomly in the middle of songs. What do I do to fix this?

So, I got my iPod classic about 5 months ago. Every once in a while, it will pause in the middle of a song. This usually happens soon after I lock or unlock it, and if I touch the wheel, but also happens if I let it play without touching it.
I've searched for solutions, but everyone says that their iPods keep pausing for a few seconds, then continue. When mine pauses by itself, it doesn't continue until I press the play button.
According to iTunes, my iPod is updated with the latest software. So, I reset my iPod (middle button and menu at the same time), but it didn't fix the problem. Then, with iTunes, I reset my iPod. Again, this didn't help.
It isn't because of my headphones because the same thing happened when I listened with different buds.
Does anyone know what I should do?

i to am having the same problem on my week old ipod classic did you manage to sort it out?? if so HELP please

Try ejecting and removing connected devices one-by-one. Turn off Airport and Bluetooth. Some programs may be preventing sleep; try quitting programs one-by-one to identify the culprit.

  • How can I stop my phone from muting in the middle of calls?

When pressing "send" and making a call, Six boxes pop up on the screen, one of them being the muting option.   My problem is that face or ear touch this button while I'm in the middle of a call.  I need to be able to manipulate the options that come on the screen everytime a call is placed, in this case being able to have no options on the screen while in the middle of a call.  Is this possible? if not, it should be; on the next upgrade.
    -Thanks

phone should be going dark when its up to your head based on the sensor. if thats not working then:
Follow basic troubleshooting found in your user Guide for your phone.

    #1: Reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    #2: Restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
if issue persists then its a hardware issue.

    Thanks for the replies.
With regard to the file named  "Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs"......It is the settings file. And, its deletion has proven at times to be
the answer to all sort of program malfunctions. From what I understand, the Mac path to this Prefs file is
    Users\Owner\Libraries\Application Support\Adobe\Premiere Elements\12.0.
In Windows, I typically write to delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if that does not work, then the whole 12.0 Folder
in which it exists. I am not sure if the whole 12.0 Folder deletion is OK for Mac as it is for Windows.

  • My keyboard keeps popping up in the middle of my screen instead of the bottom u keyboard keeps popping up in the middle of my screen instead of the bottom.  How can I get back to appear at the bottom of my screen?

My keyboard keeps popping up in he middle of my screen instead of at the bottom.  How can I fix this?

Press and hold the 'keyboard' key at the bottom right of the keyboard and after a second or so you should get a popup - slide your finger up to 'Dock' on that popup and remove your finger from the screen and the keyboard should move back to the bottom of the screen.
You can also turn off the ability to undock and split the keyboard into two halves via Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard 'off'

  • Why is my 6plus turning off in the middle of calls?

my 2nd 6plus is having the same issue of turning off during the middle of a call. 20% of all calls my phone will act like it shut down while talking and then 20seconds later the apple logo appears like it is turning on.  The interesting thing after the phone comes back on, the caller is still there.  Apple says they have not heard this yet and I have had 2 6 pluses have the same problem - Sprint is the carrie.
    thank u

I clicked that I had this same problem on your question...and just found this in another thread and am trying it after I send this to you. Hope it works for both of us!

Re: Why does my apps suddenly shut down when in use?
Jan 8, 2012 10:22 AM (in response to Kctc)
I just got this problem fixed on my iPad. Here's what to do..
Double click the round on/off button at the bottom of the screen
A display of apps which are currently running will appear at the bottom of the screen
Press and hold an app icon until a little red minus sign appears on the icon (it will appear on all of them)
Press the minus sign, and the app will completely close. Clear all app icons.
Go to safari and make us all tabs are closed.
Reboot iPad by pressing and holding main power button on the top side of iPad.
The problem should vanish when you power up again....for good!
    Good luck!

  • I have a virus -- **** sites keep popping up in the middle of what I'm doing.  How do I get rid of this virus?

This morning my MacPro had a **** site on it.  aghh.  And now, in the middle of doing anything on my Mac, **** pops up.
How do I get rid of it....specifically....step by step?

  • Why blinking of cursors, buffering of videos, connecting round up to sites hang up in the middle and only moving continously the cursor keep this problem at bay?

The blinking of cursor stops to blink while mouse is idle. The buffering of videos stops buffering while cursor is idle and the video is not downloaded. The round up figure on the bar stops rounding up while cursor is idle and not connected to another site.
    What is happening?

Many of your points are totally legitimate.
    This one, however, is not:
…To put it another way, the design of the site seems to be geared much more towards its regular users than those the site is supposedly trying to "help"…
The design and management of the forums for more than five years have driven literally dozens of the most valuable contributors and "regulars" away from the forums—permanently.
The only conclusion a prudent, reasonable person can draw from this state of affairs is that Adobe consciously and deliberately want to kill these forums by attrition—without a the PR hit they would otherwise take if they suddenly just shut them down.

  • My iPhone 3 keeps making screech while in middle of call

Can my iPhone get a virus. In middle of a call I get a fax like sound and then lose the call but it doesn't hang up? Any ideas

I can imagine this has become a frustrating experience for you.  I would love to assist with resolving this device issue for you.
How long has this been going on?  Are you using a headset, bluetooth, speakerphone or do you have the device up to your ear when this happens?  What is your device current software version http://vz.to/1njcUqn?  Please let me know so that I can further assist.  Thanks!

  • IPhone 3GS re boots in the middle of calls

I have seen a couple of threads and don't know if Apple have sorted this yet so a quick query to those who may know.
I have a 3GS and ever since IOS4 came out, if I am making calls sometimes it doesn't happen but if the call is likely to be 6 to 10 minutes in length there is a good chance it will just re-boot itself during the call.
I then have to wait about 3 minutes - feels like hours - whilst the iPhone reboots itself.
Haven't tried it yet, but if I go in to Apple - the question is can they fix it? Has anyone else out there experienced this and had it sorted?
    Thanks

I have the same problem with my 3GS.........the phone re-boots after 4 minutes then shows the 'Apple' logo for 1 minute before normal service. I should point out this mainly happens from my home location which suggests a signal issue although I have never experienced the problem with any previous phone and indeed, other visiting IPhone users don't have a problem either. I am with Vodafone who tell me I am imagining the problem and it is something they have never heard of before and I have spoken to people at the Apple Shop who just look at me blankly scratching their heards and say "Really?, never heard of that one before........!"
Sorry can't help your problem but glad to hear others have similar frustrations. Perhaps through this forum somebody from Apple will have the courage to own up and say "Yes, we do have a problem...." and fix it!
Otherwise, it's a great little 'Gizmo' but pity about the useless (and expensive!) phone.
