Keeps reconnecting to the internet

hi, can anyone help me? My phone want disconnect from the internet, other phones that i have had have disconnected automatically from the internet whenever i have closed the web browser down, but this one doesn't; it is a major problem as i have a pay-as-you-go phone and its costing me credit.
Also my phone keeps beeping at me like i have got an email but i have no email address programmed into my phone so why is it doing this? Someone said it could be like a reminder telling me that it is still logged into emaill and is searching could this be it? Because it does it like every 30mins and is costing me 5p each time it beeps. Any way to turn email off?
I have looked everywhere on the internet for the answers and have rang orange 4 times with no help from them!
I've been into menu - settings - connectivity - connection mgr. - (it is connected to orange internet) options - disconnect and select yes. It disconnects for like 2mins before connecting automatically any reason why its doing this? Any way to stop it doing this?
I've also changed packet data to "when needed" so shouldnt it only connect when i want it to? Also i have checked if anything is open like widgets of windows messenger and i dont think they are, any way to tell if they are? Please help

its the nokia N97 mini sorry forgot to put that
I thought i figured it out, my phone magically had set up an email account using my hotmail account that i never typed in! I closed that down and have stopped getting the beeps.
However all is not well as i am still constantly connected to the internet. However when goin on connectivity and connectivity mgr. and clicking on details it says status: conn (inactive) but when im on the internet it says: conn (active) does this make a difference?
Also when i go in and disconnect from the internet that is when it charges me! Its all very confusing

  • Airport Extreme not reconnecting to the Internet

    Hello,
    I have a problem with my brand-new Airport Extreme 802.11n Base-Station.
In my network there are 3 Windows-PC's with a wired connection, 1 MacBook Pro with 802.11n (also brand-new), 3 Windows-Laptops with 802.11g, an AppleTV with 802.11n (again, brand-new) and last but not least my iPhone 3G.
I set up the Airport Extreme basestation to connect to the Internet via my DSL-modem with PPPoE (the modem is a 25mbit-modem from Devolo and works flawlessly).
This works fine at first and all devices can access the Internet, the HDD connected to the basestation and so on... I was a happy user.
My Provider requires me to reconnect to the internet at least once every 24 hours.
Now when the connection reaches its 24 hour limit, it is disconnected by the provider.
This worked fine with my previous basestation, every morning at 3am it reconnected for 5 seconds and I had no problems.
But my Airport Extreme wont re-establish the connection automatically.
It doesnt reconnect right after the connection is cancelled and it doesnt reconnect when a computer wants to access the internet.
The only way to reconnect to the internet is via the Airport Utility and clicking on the "update"-button to cause a reboot of the basestation.
After it has rebooted the connection will work for 24 hours and then the basestation needs another reboot.
How can I get my basestation to reconnect to the internet without rebooting it every time.
I would prefer a reconnect right after the connection is dropped but I'd settle with an automatic reconnect once a device requests a connection.
However, since most users are not very experienced, all of this would need to be automatic once i set it all up.
Thanks for your help in advance...
    Jochen

I have asked my ISP but they said it was an unknown issue to them and that they are not responsible if my things dont work the way I want them to...
And they are absolutely right in saying its my device that acts strange since the previous router (with integrated modem) didnt have this issue.
I will try to use QuickKey and contact the Apple-Support directly.
A friend of mine works in an Apple-Store and will need to look at this later, but he is on holidays...

  • Why does my macbook pro keep disconnecting from the internet?

For whatever reason my Macbook pro 15in keeps disconnecting from the internet everytime it goes to sleep. And sometimes when I wake it up, I have to turn wifi on and off a couple times to get it to detect the right signal. This does not happen with my playstation or my phone so it has to be a problem with the Macbook itself. Can anyone give me any information on how to fix this problem? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, amal111.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity issues.  Also, make sure all firmware updates have been processed on the router and the settings have been adjusted to the recommended settings in the second article below.

  • After iMac is asleep, it requires going though the network diagnostics screens to reconnect to the internet.  What happened and how can I fix that?

After the iMac has been asleep, it requires me to go through the Network Diagnostics screens to reconnect to the internet.  Why and how can I fix that?

Which model iMac do you have?  Which OS system are you using?  Need this information to provide you with the correct troubleshooting solution(s).
Please detail all you have done to resolve your issue.  Need this information so that the users can avoid the "been there, done that" scenario type responses.  This is to avoid repeating the troubleshooting you may have already tried.  Thank you.

  • Time capsule keeps disconnecting from the internet

My MBP was previously connected to the internet via my sky netgear router, with no issues.
I have recently purchased a 2TB time capsule and connected that to the sky netgear router via an ethernet cable.
I then set it up as its own wifi network.  Now it keeps disconnecting from the internet every 5 mins or so.  I know that the internet is fine as I can hook up with my netgear router with no issues.  I cant seem to find any settings to play with.  Earlier posts seem to suggest firmware issues, but since this is a brand new MBP and TC, I can't understand what the issue could be.

Give us the full blown picture of the network.
What modem? Is it a router?
Is the TC in router or bridge mode?
Can you test with ethernet.. does the same disconnect happen when wireless goes down?
ie is this a router issue or a wireless issue?
If wireless can you try setting all that is now auto, to manual settings.. wireless channels.. unfortunately I think wireless mode is no longer accessible. Different names for 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
There are no new drivers.. That would only be relevant to AC wireless anyway.. or the firmware of the TC.
But you are running the latest firmware.. 7.7.1 which does mention some (rare) disconnections.

  • Notes - how to keep them off the internet?

    Hello,
I want to export my 'Notes' from my iPhone to my MacBook, without the Notes being forwarded to my online/web email account (eg. Gmail, Yahoo).  I want to keep the Notes off the internet.  Is this possible?  Any help?
    Thanks

    You're welcome.
Notes can be synced direct with the Mail app notes feature with OS X, and with the new seperate Notes app available with the new Mountain Lion (10.8) OS X version released yesterday.

  • 10.7.3 issues with reconnecting to the Internet after waking from sleep mode?

My iMac worked great until this last update. Now it does not connect to the internet after I wake it from sleep mode. Any fixes?

I have a similar issue.  My connection has been rock-solid since we went to Uverse, and now my computer loses the internet every 60-90 minutes or so. Driving me nuts.  iPhone still on wireless router to internet, so problem seems to be computer.

  • I am purchasing a macBook Pro. I want to set up a wifi connection for it. However, I have an old Power PC  machine that I would also like to keep connected to the internet. Is there any way to do this without a lot of hassle?

Can I link an old Power PC and a new macBook Pro on a network so that the PowerPC remains directly connected to the internet and the new macBook Pro can have wireless capabilities?

... Will one of the ports on the router still allow the G4 to connect to the internet?
Yes. Ethernet is simple. OS X constantly and relentlessly searches for any network connection it can find. Plug it in and it will work.
Are you considering the Linksys EA3500 or something similar? Get what you want but be sure to read its reviews first. In my opinion Linksys consumer grade products suffered after Cisco's acquisition of them, and their customer support went from poor to abysmal.
A genuine Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station is more expensive, but not much more so. Its advantage is the ability to be configured with AirPort Utility whereas other routers either use dedicated Windows software or a browser interface. Read its reviews too then decide for yourself.
If you already have an Ethernet switch the additional port of the EA3500 is superfluous. You could just as easily use the less expensive AirPort Express, $99 before discounts. It has almost all the features of the Extreme including simultaneous dual band wireless, and in addition can also stream iTunes music to remote speakers through its audio port. The major difference between the Extreme and the Express is the latter's lack of additional LAN ports, so just use your switch.
All AirPort Base Stations support printing through their USB port, and all are guaranteed to be compatible with AirPrint should you ever need to.

  • HT4628 After installing the new OS from apple (10.8.2) my macbook pro keeps disconnecting from the internet.  I am connecting with an Airport Extreme and while it shows I am connected, every 20-45 seconds its searching for a wireless connection.  Any sugg

I guess I posted my question as a title but that is my issue.  My airport is connected via wireless yet it keeps searching for a wireless connection, hence I am experiencing bad latency and disconnection issues.  Anyone know a solution?

I have the same problem. And in my case it happens when i transfer "large" files over the WiFi. When i send an MP3 filer over Skype i loose connection. When i transfer updates between my iPhone 5 / iPad 3 and iMac with Mountain Lion i loose connection. When i have a video conference i loose connection. You get the idea.
There is usually like 30 people using their own router on the 2.4 GHz band near by. None on the 5 GHz band which i use. But when my WiFi freezes on ML i can only see my own router. And i am also connected to it. But all my neighbors WiFi routers are now invisble to me. My network stalled.
What i do is that i disconnect my WiFi and then reconnect it again. Thank fixes it. But all my transfers and what not has been dropped. And i have to start all over - and the WiFi will stall again.
While my WiFi is frozen on the iMac with ML i have no problem using the same router on the same 5 GHz band with my iPhone 5 or iPad 3.
Downgrading the AirPort Extreme to 7.6.1 from 7.6.3 helped a bit. Now i only loose connection a few times each day.
It is a software error in ML i am sure of. A driver maybe. But i am suspecting that it is either a speed-sync error or an energy saving error. Like the network card turns of in the middle of a file transfer to save enrgy - maybe.
When i stream movies from my iMac to my Apple TV or  3 there is no problem at all. It is so odd.

  • After ios5 update My Ipod keeps crashing, and the internet stops but shows wifi sign

Well, this all happened after the Ios5 update to my ipod touch 4th gen. The problems are that when im using my wifi, it just stops as if im not getting any reception, but it still shows the wifi sign on the top left corner. A temporary fix for this is to go to settings and put my ipod on airplane mode off and on to get it to work for like 5 minutes. Its really annoying when watching videos or on facebook, etc. The second problem that I've been having is that certain apps keep crashing on me, one that does it the most is safari, it seems to crash all the time for me and now my facebook, news apps, among others all seem to crash. I dont know if this is a problem with the update, but it sure seems like it. Is there any way to fix this?

  • What does a smart boot do and how do I reconnect to the Internet?

I talked to a tech guy about problems I was having with my MacBook Pro crashing and he suggested I hold down the Shift key on restarting the next time it crashed. It did and I did, and now Airport won't turn on, says I have no Airport card. So what was this smart boot suppose to do and what happened to my Internet connection? Thanks for any help.

Amongst other things a "Safe Boot" disables the Airport card until you boot normally again.
With luck, the "safe Boot" will have resolved your earlier problem (it does a directory check and removes some caches that can cause problems , etc. ) and you should now try to start up normally to see if the problem is fixed (just restart without holding any keys down).
If the original problem isn't fixed it almost certainly means that there is a problem with a piece of third party software that you have installed, or a problem with items in your own "user account".
See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564 for more information about a "Safe Boot" on a Mac.
(Edit - Whoops, sorry Matt I answered a phone call while writing this and your own post must have come in while I was absent!)

  • Everytime i close a web site, and reconnect to the internet, instead of going to homepage it goes back to the site i had been on, how do i get it to go to homepage

Even though I followed directions to make yahoo.com my homepage, by clicking and dragging to home and clicking yes. When I browse the web and then close out to desktop and then click on firefox web browser, instead of going to homepage it redirects me back to the web site I had been on when I logged out.
How do I stop this and get it to take me to my home page?

Try changing firefox to the default browser: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Setting_Your_Default_Browser]. That will probably get firefox to open when you dial up.
I'm not sure what you mean by "the meter accelerating the web page". Can you explain that?
    Thank you
