I can't access a couple of newspaper sites from my browser, it keeps saying access denied as per below. Anyone know why?
You don't have permission to access "http://news.theage.com.au/" on this server.

I have just got a leapad for my daughter, trying to download software for macbook pro and it says access denied, so can't even install CD to get it started. Any ideas as to why this would be? Thanks
Try going to System Preferences>Security & Privacy and under the General tab...
...select "Anywhere". Note that you'll need to use an admin account to access these settings.

I have set up Office 2013 Home and Business on a network share using the Office Deployment Tool.
Domain members can install Office 2013 with no problems using the command line
\\Server\share\Office2013\setup.exe /configure
\\Server\share\Office2013\configuration-home-and-biz.xml
However, if the PC is not a member of the domain I get an Access Denied message, even though "everyone" has full control of the share and NTFS files and subfolders
The full message is as follows,
Access denied to installation source
Sorry, we ran into a problem accessing a required file. Please check that the installation source has correct permissions, the try again.
Go online for additional help
Error Code: 5-4
As soon as I join the PC to the domain the installation works but I would like to pre-install Office as part of an MDT Task Sequence before the PC joins the domain.
Does anyone know how I can make this work?
The Office setup log shows a different error code
03/05/2014 16:23:24.834 SETUP (0xe38) 0xec0 Click-To-Run apx75 Monitorable TryLaunchClient::HandleStateAction: C2R Client returned failing error code 17002
FYI: My config xml file contains the following
<Configuration> <Add SourcePath="\\Server\share\Office2013\" OfficeClientEdition="32" > <Product ID="HomeBusinessRetail"> <Language ID="en-us" /> </Product> </Add> <Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="\\Server\share\Office2013\" /> <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> <!-- <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> --> <Logging Name="OfficeSetup-*.txt" Path="%temp%" /> <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="0" /></Configuration>
Thom McKiernan (UK) @thommck | thommck.wordpress.com | MCSA | MCTSC2R editions of Office, during the installation routine, will initially commence execution in the security context of the logged in user, but partway through the installation routine the installation transitions into the security context of the local computer
account. This means that unless the computer account also has network access permissions to the installation source folder/share, the installation routine will fail.

Important:
The computer account for the computer on which you install Click-to-Run for Office 365 products must have read permission to the network share that contains the Office Deployment Tool, the customized Configuration.xml file, and the Click-to-Run for Office
365 product and language files. If you cannot give read permission to the computer account, you can copy the files down to the computer from the network share, and then run Setup from the computer. After the installation is complete, you can delete those files
from the computer.
To workaround this, your installation script routine can copy the installation source files from the server folder/share to a local folder on the computer, then launch the setup routine from that local source.
In your example scenario, the workgroup computer (because it is not a member of "DOMAIN\Authenticated Users" does not have access permissions to the server folder/share.

I can't seem to connect my iPhone 5 to windows 7, it shows up under unspecified in the control panel but when I try to update the drivers it says access denied! Been at this for 3 days now! Tried numerous fixes, any help please?
The iPhone 5 and iOS 6 require iTunes 10.7. Depending on what OS you have for your comptuer, could restrict you.
Windows System Requirements

Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista or Windows 7
64-bit editions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
250MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
Macintosh System Requirements

Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.
When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run? Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:
9/23/2009 3:18:45 PM Blocked by Access Protection rule NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe \REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\iPod Service Common Maximum Protection:Prevent programs registering as a service Action blocked : Create
Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint. -
My Apple Macbook hard drive crashed and I had to replace. Now trying to reload CS5 and having issues. When I click download from Adobe download page, a screen pops up saying "Access Denied". I have serial number, but don't even get to a page to enter. Please help…Thanks!!
Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache. If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

Hi jenramayan,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
At this point I would suggest completely uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the correct order and installing iTunes fresh again from the apple website. Please use the following article as reference.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
I hope this helps,

How do I configure this? (ie. config doc says access denied?)
I'm trying to access the Mobile Access Install/Config guide (http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-9741) but it says access denied.
I've managed to get the Mobiel Access beta installed, and I can access it via a web browser and I can even login but the Mobile Access website only has actions like restart and shutdown. I don't see my VMs or anything like that.
What else do I need to configure?I'm having the same problem. I've downloaded the appliance, but I'm unable to download the documentation.

When I try to join Spark, why does it say Access Denied?
I go to the Spark website with my phone and click join. Type in all the information and click send. Then I get a page that says...
Access Denied
You do not have permission to access this page.Have opened your GarageBand project on a disk, that is not formatted MacOS X extended? Some file systems support only files up to 2GB. If so, move your GarageBand project to your system drive, then GarageBand should be able to record.

I posted the code from Sam's book in another thread. I compiled the code resulting in two files: PeteApplet.class and PetePanel.class. I moved the files to /usr/local/tomcat/jsp directory. I then copied the required GIF's to the same directory. The GIF's have read/write/exec permission to everyone (chmod 777 on unix). But at run time I get the following error. Please help!
