Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I see that you are having issues with installing your Laserjet CM1415fnw on your Windows 7 PC. I can certainly help with that. First, since you said that the install is timing out, we're going to remove the print queue. To do so:If the printer is connected through a USB cable then remove the USB cable.Click on Start and open Devices and Printers. In this window right click on any listed printers and click on Remove Device. Now we'll do a few things that may help with the install.Click on Start and type in cmd where it says "Search Programs and Files". Now click enter. In this window type in msiexec /unregister and click enter. Now type msiexec /regserver and click enter. To make sure we're using the latest drivers click on this link to download the latest drivers.Once it's downloaded try installing. If this works then please let other forum users know by clicking on Accept as Solution below this post. If this does not work then please let me know if you see any errors or provide more details about what happens when you install so I'll have a better idea of how to help you further.
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great weekend!

  • Why does my printer keep saying out of paper? it's not!

My printer tries to pick up paper for a long time then tels me its out of paper...It's not.  Is my machine broken?  I just bought it like 2 months ago.  What do I do or where do I take it to get it fixed?

     Reset the product
With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button
    try printing again
    if this doesn't work...
If you just purchased 2 months ago you are STILL in warranty an will get free support if you call
    1800.474.6836
If they are unable to resolve over the phone you may be eligible for a free replacment.... but they will have to go thru trouble shooting first. expect to spend close to 1 hour on the phone.

  • Message keeps saying out of paper can't seem to break through this barrier -- tried to clean rollers

Attempted to clean rollers as advised but the rollers do not rotate so can only clean one side and it made no difference.

    achenn.
White will not be printed, so you actually may leave it as it is, but if you want to get rid of the white part (if you (may) need a coloured background or something), and if you want to be able to easlily adjust the simple lines even after reopening the document (so Undoing is out of the question), an otherwise sillier option would be to:
    1) Select the lines and Object>Compound Path>Make,
    2) Select that along with the shape and in the Transparnecy palette/panel flyout tick Make Opacity Mask with Clip unticked and Invert Mask unticked.

  • HP photosmart 5520 my new printer on photo printing keeps stating out of paper

my new HP photosmart 5520 will not print photos. It keeps flashing "out of paper, reload" when the printer is already loaded with paper single and several sheets. Is this a faulty machine that I bought or can it be rectified. I never had this problem with my previous Kodak printer. Could you please advise what can be done to remedy this or should I purchase another make of printer. Thanks Michael

    Hello shuter1,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you are having photo printing issues with the Photosmart 5520, it will not feed the paper. Will the printer print on regular 8.5x11 paper?
What is the paper type and size you are trying to print these photos on?
See if following the steps outlined in this guide will help: Printing Photos Saved on Your Computer or Memory Card.
I will look back for your reply.

  • HP 5510v all-in-one using Windows XP 2000 keeps showing out of paper msg. but is not.

Have in the past pulled Jammed paper out through the front (with extreme difficulty I might add) but finally read online to open door in back to relieve jam.  Anyhow, could I have messed up some sensor or something by doing that?  Have tried unplugging and etc., but nothing clears problem.  Machine will sometimes print one sheet, but then hear a meshing of roller gears or something, then back to out of paper msg.  Printer is maybe 5 yrs. old.  Really liked up to now.  Thanks in advance.

Clean the rollers as described in this page.

  • Imac keeps saying out of application memory.

This is truely a nucense, my imac keeps telling me it is out of application memory. I have a new 21.5 imac, i7, 8gb ram, fusion drive. Recently when havin gmore than one application open it has started to tell me that i am out of memory. Right now i was on facetime, had safari open and was surfing on one monitor while facetime was fullscreen on the other. It told me i was out of application memory. How is that even possible with two things open? I remember seeing someting about this being a problem with mavericks, I wanted ot report this to show that i am getting this also. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on a fix for this?

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a few minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. Details follow.
    4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
    11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
Note: This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Out of Paper Problem

    Hi,
I am a college student and I just got the hp envy 4500 e-all-in-on series. I have the 32- bit on my laptop.   I was able to use my printer to scan something one time, and now everytime I try to print something from my laptop it says Out of Paper when there is a whole stack in there!  I really need my printer and it is very inconvenient that it keeps doing this.  I have tried reinstalling the software several times and it hasn't worked.  I can't find any videos for my specific problem so I would really appreciate your help!!!
    Thanks,
    Shelby Smith

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Premium won't print cardstock - error message of "out of paper" appears

My printer won't print cardstock, the error message says "out of Paper".  I have tried 3 different types of cardstock and it won't accept any of them.  It will print on plain paper.  Is this machine defective?  HELP...URGENT
I must be able to print cardstock.  The computer was just set up today...it is brand new and purchased directly from HP.

After trying a lot of different things, for some God-only-knows reason, this is the trick that worked for me. This is really more of a hack than a true fix, but I'm not picky when it's 2 AM and I don't have any other options:
    (1) In the paper tray, alternate one sheet of the cardstock paper with one sheet regular plain paper. Make sure the tray is full, but not over-full. (This HP help article says not to do that but... whatever.)
    (2) In the Print dialogue box (however you can get to it) select the "Plain Paper" preset (not "thick paper" or "cardstock"). I had it on "Best" as you can see it the screen shot, but I don't think this is important.
    (3) I only had a single-page document, which I needed to print 30 copies of, so I inserted a blank page as a second page in the document file (a pdf).
    (4) I then made sure "Collate" was selected in my print settings.
If you have a multi-page document, maybe you will need to insert a blank page every other page... which sounds like a pain, and I feel for you.
Note: You'll need to monitor the printing closely - if ever the printer pulls two pages through instead of one, you'll need to pull the paper tray out and add a piece of paper so it's alternating correctly.
With this, I was able to print multiple copies without ever stopping. After a full day of fighting with the printer (which may or may not have included sacrifices of limbs under a full moon to the printer gods... just kidding) this was like magic.
Hope this works for you - or other people who read this thread. This is a really frustrating situation.
PS. Before I did this, I also did a full reset of the printer, which included:
    1. Turning off the printer and unplugging it for a full minute
    2. Printing 100 blank pages
I have no idea if this helps, but if this hack isn't working for you, this "reset" is worth a try.
