Keeps shutting off after I put it to sleep

Lately I've been having a recurring problem where I shut my computer (while it's still on) so that it's asleep, I put it in it's case and once I get to school and open it, it has shut off for some reason, but when I turn it back on, the battery is fully charged, so I know that's not the problem..any ideas anyone?
Thanks for you help.

  • Rebel T3 keeps shutting off after few seconds of videoing

I purchased a Rebel T3 for my daughter a few months ago.  We are having trouble getting it to video.  It keeps shutting off after a few seconds.  It has a clean class 10 - 32gb card in it.  Help please!  (we have used a couple different cards in it, they all do fine & take excellent photos, just MAJOR problem trying to use the video mode)  I have a T1i & have no trouble with the video on mine.

The manual may state Class 6 as the minimum speed for reliable HD video capture, but that it is most definitely not the fastest card supported by the camera.
The camera is able to take advantage of cards rated for speeds up to 45MB/s which should be at least 2x faster than the fastest Class 10 cards and about 4.5x faster than a Class 10 card operating at minimum spec of 10MB/s.  A Class 10 card is rated for minimum throughput of 10MB/s write speeds. So, it should be between 7-8x faster than a Class 6 card performing at it's specified minimum 6MB/s speed.
So you really need to be looking at the write speed of the SD cards you buy.  But, this assumes that the SD card is the problem which it may not be.

My phone just started randomly shutting off as soon as the update finished. When will it stop shutting off? why does it keep shutting off?

  • My ipod dock keeps shutting off after 1 hour

I have a Pioneer xw-NAS3 dock and I run a brown noise app at night to help drown out noise.  It had been working fine, and now last night, the dock shuts off on its own and then when I started it back up, it shut off one hour later.  The manual for the Pioneer says that if no ipod is connected in one hour, the unit will shut down, but there is an ipod connected the entire time and the simply noise app is running constantly and not set to shut down.  I'm mostly sure it's a docking issue because it also shut down after 1 hour while using an ipod nano and a predownloaded 12 hour loop of brown noise.  Any ideas to try?  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Nothing on Pioneer's site for my product. I did email, nothing yet.
I did try resetting the dock.  didn't solve the problem.
Yes, the device does charge, and there are no noticeable issues, and like I said, the unit worked great one week ago.
    No damage or problems evident.
    Thanks.

  • G5 Shuts down after I put it to Sleep

Why is my G5 suddenly shutting down all the time when I put it to sleep .... I come back to use it and I have to power it up each time ?

To log a sequence of events:
Open the Console application, located in Applications/Utilities.
    Click Logs in the toolbar.
Click the triangle next to a log to see more available logs.
Select the appropriate log and click Clear.
Perform the actions that produced the problem you are troubleshooting.
Read the messages that appear in the Console window.
Hello .... I can't seem to find where to " Search " and enter " Shut Down " .... I have opened Console and and able to open the triangles on many things ... This is one of them ... is this the correct one below ?
ALSO - about 4 - 5 years approx. after the warranty expired I had a problem with the power supply and Apple Canada replaced it and the Mother Board free of charge $ 1300.00 would have been the cost there abouts ... Does this mean the same thing is happening again ??? I doubt if I have the info and the paperwork for that repair ( dumb me, I wish I did now ) .... Is there a way for me to find that info with my serial number ?
If so - do you know why it would happen again and if so , is Apple still prepared to stand behind their product once again ?
Thanks Much for you Help .... is the " below " does not show you what you asked me to find ... what are the steps I should do for you ... ?

  • Why does my Macbook shut off whenever I put it to sleep?

Every time I close the lid it shuts off, and every time I put it to sleep manually it turns off.  It's really annoying to have to reboot every time I stop using my computer, and furthermore I don't think it's very good to turn off your computer numerous times daily.

The usual steps for resolving this type of issue are
    - Reset the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    - Reset the SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    - Calibrate the battery: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490

  • Backlit keyboard keeps shutting off after 1 min. regardless of setting?

Just as the title says, for some reason the backlit keys keep dimming if I do not use them for about a minute. I went in to the settings and I am stuck between the option of ONE minute, or FIVE minutes. I wish I could set it to like three minutes but there is not the option. So I have it set to five minutes. However, the keyboard turns off if I do not use it for only one minute. I also fooled with the other settings like the display backlight timer, etc and even after lengthening them, the keys still do not stay on!
So is there anything I can do to fix this or is it supposed to be this way or something? I thought with the option, i'd be in control, but I'm not.
    Any ideas?
    -Scott

The way I look at it, either I want/need the keyboard lighting on or I don't. If I'm not using the KB lighting, I don't have Lab Tick running and there is NO icon in the menu bar. Now if I'm in a darker environment and feel I need KB lighting, I turn Lab Tick on and can adjust the brightness to the EXACT level I prefer. i.e., I don't have to rely some temperamental Mickey Mouse light sensor. As far as I'm concerned, that KB light sensor is just a novelty that only works when it wants to, as you are experiencing.

  • Why does my ipod nano keep shutting off?

My new Ipod nano keeps shutting off after about a minute when playing music. It is fully charged.

Hi, I had the same problem  googled the problem & it said to make sure ear piece  is in as far as possible , make sure no silver is showing on the jack, check out ifixit.com. mine now working ok.

  • Why does my NEW ipod keep shutting off in less than 30 seconds of play time

Rcv'd ipod at Christmas; was setup in spanish when I first turned on & thought that was weird; had issues trying to download version 10 of itunes but after two days it finally went through successfully; charged for two days; used for first time today and it keeps shutting off after 30-90 seconds of playtime; is this a common issue or do I need to send back?

No, push the headphones firmly all the way in. The headphone jack on new nanos is very tight, make sure the plastic on the headset jack is flush with the body of the nano.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

    Hi ManiPictures,
If your iPhone shuts down unexpectedly during use, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it - Apple Support
As your iPhone's operating system is already up to date with iOS 8.1.1, follow the last instruction -
If you still see this issue after updating, contact Apple Support.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I have an ipod shuffle 4th generation. I would like for the music to automatically shut off after one hour long song rather than going to next song on the list. Is this possible?

Sorry, but it's not.  The only way to get this to work is to only put the one hour song on your Shuffle.

Genius bar were full so they sent me to a local store.
Looks like it has something to do with the graphic card. It occured when I plugged my macbook to my iMac for screen the 1st time
11 days later I'm still waiting to get my macbook back. Hope you can get it faster!
Very disapointed with the support quality and product quality.

  • Why does my AirPort Extreme keep shutting off?

My AirPort Extreme keeps shutting off randomly can any one help?
    -thanks

More experience leads me to believe the problem is with the new iMac.  If I get the network going by turning AirPort Extreme power off, then on, I see a good signal at my iMac. Experience shows the network drops off after several hours. But yesterday I turned the iMac off, and the network remainded up (I could see it on my iPhone and iPad) throughout the night.  That's the first time that has happened since I got the new iMac.  Never had this issue with the old machine. I transferred all file to the new machine from a Time Machine backup that was up-to-date.  Am working with Apple support. They had me do a re-boot of the AirPort and will call back tomorrow AM to learn it did not solve the problem, but turning off the iMac does.  Darn.
