Keine cover im finder

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe mein Macbook Pro 13 auf 10.8.3 von Lion auf Mountain Lion geupdated.
Alle meine Cover sind in Itunes eingepflegt.
Navigiere ich nun im Finder auf iTunes Mediathek->iTunesMedia->Music bekomme ich als Cover Vorschau nur eine graue Musiknote.
Bei Lion ging das zuvor alles noch.
Ich habe vor dem Update meine gesamte Mediathek sicherheitshalber auf einem NAS gesichert.
Auch google konnte mir bislang keine Lösung anbieten.
Kann mir jemand erklären, wie ich die Covers zurück in die mp3/m4a bekomme?

Welches Betriebssystem?
Vorschauen gab es doch nur in Brdige und nicht auf Finder/Explorer-Ebene.

Cover Flow, Finder, Get Info icon dilemma

I was using Cover Flow to look at some photos. I clicked Cmd-I to Get Info in order to use the drop down menu there to change the default application to open one of the images from Preview to Photoshop. Once I did this the photo no longer displayed in Cover Flow. What I saw instead was a default jpeg icon. The icon of the image also changed in the Finder from an icon of the actual image to a default jpeg icon.
Seems like there are some glitches here. Can anybody duplicate this problem. Is there a known fix? Thanks.

Well, that is certainly strange! I tried it and sure enough I got exactly the same results. Which is truly weird because I have many Photoshop jpegs that do not have custom icons, and they display an icon in Finder perfectly well. And, of course, so do generic jpegs. But if you change a generic jpeg to open in Photoshop Finder stops drawing the icon. Furthermore, when I changed it back to open in Preview it did not recover--it continued to display the generic Photoshop jpec icon. Nothing I did would make Finder display a custom icon for the file. I even quit and relaunched Finder to no avail. The only thing that worked was to use my Automator workflow to give it a custom icon. Looks like a bug to me. Send feedback to Apple:

Keine Vorschau im Finder

Seit dem Update auf Indesign CC Vers. 9.2 kann ich keine Vorschau mehr in den Icons von InDesign-Dateien sehen.
Es wird nur noch das ID-Logo angezeigt. Weder im Finder-Fenster, noch im QuickLook-Fenster und auch in Path Finder werden die Vorschauen nicht angezeigt.
Natürlich habe ich in InDesign das Häkchen gesetzt, dass Vorschauen gespeichert werden sollen und in den Einstellungen von ID habe ich unterschiedliche Vorschaugrößen ausprobiert, aber es wird nichts angezeigt.
Erbitte Hilfestellung!
Since the update to InDesign CC verse. I can preview no longer 9.2 in the icons of InDesign files.
It will be shown only the ID logo. Neither in the Finder window, nor in the QuickLook window, and also in Path Finder does not appear the previews.
Of course I have the check mark used in InDesign, that previews should be stored and in the settings of ID I tried different preview sizes, but it shows nothing.
Ask for assistance!

Album Art Finder Programs

I have used programs such as Cover art Finder and Tuneup and a few others. All of them seem to be imperfect and tend to do more damage to ones library than is necessary (wrong art, mislabled songs, even weird translations..) Tuneup was working well, but the whole "audio fingerprinting" and hence mislabled music was overwhelmingly bad.
Any suggestions from you all on what has worked for you? Yes, I do the google image thing alot, but i have a 35,000song library so it can be a little consuming.

I have 40,000+ songs in my library. After trying numerous cover art finder programs, I gave up and decided to manually add the missing artwork to my albums. (The bogus WRONG additions that I had to delete and correct really drove me crazy!)
The latest version of itunes makes this job a bit less daunting...you can sort your library by albums and easily see which ones don't have cover artwork by using the list view with cover art showing in the left column. I did a few letters of the alphabet every day for a week or two and I'm happy to report that every song/album in my library now has the correct cover art associated with it.

Musik Cover fehlen

Leider sind auf meinem IPad nicht mehr alle Cover sichtbar. Sogar ein soeben gekauftes Album im Store zeigt nach einer Synchronisation mit iTunes auf dem iPad kein Cover mehr an. Auch bei mehreren weiteren Alben ist das Cover nur in iTunes, allerdings nicht auf dem iPad sichtbar.
Was kann ich machen?

I'm running iTunes 11.0.1 and have an iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0.1 and the following helped for me:
- connect the iPhone to the Mac and let iTunes sync
- in iTunes go to your iPhone / iPod sync options an DE-SELECT "sync music" (switch is OFF)
- then sync you iPhone again (this will delete you music from your iPhone)
- once sync is finished go to the iPhone sync options again and RE-ENABLE "sync music" (switch it ON again)
- and sync again (and let iTunes build the entire music library on your iPhone from ground up)

Panic: Upon Opening Cover 13" Macbook Air (Late)

On occasion following sleep of Macbook Air by closing its cover, I find that when the cover is raised some time later, the computer appears as if it had actually powered down (=shut down?)!
In any event, attempting to awake the Air by depressing the power key (upper right), nothing happens!
However... if the power key is depressed for a prolonged period (~15 seconds ?), the computer eventually comes to life!
After signing in, I'm presented with a notice that the computer had been shut down unconventionally and that a diagnostic should be forwarded to Apple. I've done this at least 3 times!
Before calling Apple Care again (on my first call, they alerted me to the trick of holding down the power key), does anyone have any suggestions/advice?

If you look closely (and probably at an angle), I think you'll see that the screen is actually on and just dim. You'll see the dialog box for a kernel panic.
I've seen this a few times on my Late-2010 MBA which exhibits the wake from sleep problems you can find throughout this forum. If you only have the dim screen you can manage to shutdown the machine correctly and then just power it up again. However, if you've already gotten the kernel panic then holding the power button is the only thing you can do.
The few firmware updates have not seemed to help, and I may bite the bullet soon for an exchange. My wife's same model MBA has not had any of these issues.

CC 2014 Dateizuordnung fehlerhaft (Windows 7)

ich benutze Windows 7 und seit kurzer Zeit passen meine Dateizuordnungen nicht mehr. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es seit dem Update auf CC 2014 oder seit dem letzten Windows Update der Fall ist, jedenfalls sind viele Typen (.indd, .aep, .psd, ...) nicht mehr den Adobe Programmen zugeordnet. Natürlich habe ich schon versucht über Rechtsklick > Öffnen Mit.. das entsprechende Programm über Durchsuchen auszuwählen und das Häkchen für Standard zu setzen, allerdings wird beim Bestätigen das Programm nicht in die Liste aufgenommen und es ändert sich nichts. Auch über Start > Standardprogramme > Dateizuordnungen hatte ich bisher keinen Erfolg, da sich im Endeffekt genau der gleiche Dialog öffnet.
Also habe ich Bridge gestartet und über Voreinstellungen > Dateizuordnungen für manche Dateitypen erfolgreich die Zuordnung wiederherstellen können. Zuvor hätte ich auch versucht hier auf Standard zurückzusetzen, hat aber nichts geändert. Das Problem ist, dass ich bei Bridge für .aep, .indd keine Einträge finde und somit nicht ändern kann.
Ich habe dann die Registry Einträge durchsucht (HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > FileExts) und wenn ich z.B. mir den Eintrag für .indd ansehe und ausklappe, sehe ich folgende Werte:
Ich bin kein Meister der Registry, aber es würde naheliegen den Wert von Standard auf InDesign.exe zu ändern, oder? Bevor ich irgendetwas falsch mache, warte ich lieber auf eure Ratschläge.
Was meint ihr? Wie bekomme ich das wieder in den Griff?

Ich habe die Lösung gefunden, in der Registry waren die Pfade für die Programme falsch gesetzt (noch auf CS6).
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Classes > Applications
Hier bei den einzelnen Programmen den Wert in "command" an den richtigen Pfad anpassen. Anschließend einfach wieder auf eine Datei Rechtsklick > Öffnen Mit und siehe da, die Programme sind gleich in der Liste und können ausgewählt werden!

How to access links in album art in iTunes 11?

In particular podcasts often have links in their album art. Clicking on it while the album art was shown in the lower left corner of iTunes 7(?) through 10 send you to a website with more info about the podcast or the particular song playing (what was linked to was up to the podcast producer).
In the album art mini-player (the only way to see the album art in a reasonable size), the links are no longer active in iTunes 11.

This is actually not accurate. You do not have to switch to the Artists tab to view artwork. When in the Playlist tab, there is a "View" pull down in the upper right corner of the screen. Click on it and select "Artist List" to change the view (similar to the format of the Artists tab mind you) to view the track artwork.
Take note that the "artist list" on the left side is like a side anchored column browser but the artwork shown here is not for the current album in the playlist, just the first cover iTunes finds under each particular artist (like in the Artist tab). (And another goofy design decision IMHO, why show artwork here at all?). The actually album/track artwork is on the playlist side. You also can't enable the full column browser in this view as it's tied to the default "List" view.
I don't necessarily prefer this new approch but wanted to clarify for others.

Lightroom 2 Book(s) recommendations?

I'm looking for one or two Lightroom 2 books.
First I'm looking for a book (or even website) that provides a rock solid (fast, fast, fast) workflow. I'm reasonably proficient in Lightroom 1 - but am finding I have ever shrinking quantities of time to spend working with my images. Anything that can help save me even a few minutes everytime would be a god send.
The more difficult problem. I would like a book that gives me a deeper understanding of the develop module. I have got a fair understanding of the basic controls (white balance, exposure, fill, highlight recovery, vibrance, clarity etc.). But I get lost when I'm looking at the Curves, HSL controls, ... - 2.0 has just made my life more complicated (in a good way). For Lightroom 1 I bought the O'Reilly Lightroom Adventure and its a good book, but I found the section on the develop module focused only the what. What effect does each control have? Good to a point - but I struggled to figure out when and why I would want to use the Curves (etc). Are there better books for 2.0? Martin Evening's book (http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-Lightroom-Book-Photographers/dp/0321555619/ref=sr_ 1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224266775&sr=8-4) gets great reviews but I've no idea about the depth in this area.

What can you recommend? If you happen to be Martin can you tell me - does your book have alot of depth in the develop section?

My experiences:
Martins LR2 book is an excellent reference tome but doesnt teach me how to use the software properly.
In his examples Martin will say things like As you can see I chose to modify XXX without ever saying why he thought this was a good idea or why you would want to do it. The screen shots are not very easy to read and dont clearly illustrate the points. I found the section on Printing both brief and vague. I gained the impression that Martin does not use LR2 for printing. Finally I also found the section on the new Adjustment Brush somewhat lacking. For example I could not find any mention of how to delete an Adjustment (Answer: click on the adjustment and press delete)and I still have not found a way of selecting a colour from the image.
I found Scotts LR1 book helped me enormously in terms of workflow and how to actually user LightRoom. I had hoped that with Scotts LR1 book and Martins LR2 book I would have comprehensive cover but find I have had to order Scotts book in addition. Pity I didnt know about Daves imminent book.
Finally a word of warning on the Martin Evening Book. Both on the back page and inside the publisher (Adobe) states that buying the book gives you access to the online version. This may sound good but the undocumented reality is that you only get this access for 45 days. I think thats pretty underhand.

Converting RGB to CMYK for printing.

So I went in to the Apple Store yesterday and told the guy that I'd like to design my own DVD cover for a presentation reel. I was about to spring for the teacher's edition of Photoshop, but he convinced me to buy the cheaper one with a Bamboo tablet...which was the same price as buying the program but included the tablet.
Hours later after designing my DVD cover, I find out that elements doesn't use CMYK mode. Ridiculous! This is my first time doing something like this so I wasn't entirely sure how to proceed... I thought.. oh well maybe I just switch modes later and I'm good. I guess this program was designed for less intense designers that print from a desktop at home, but I had other plans from the start. Anyways, what would you do? Here are my questions:
Should I take back the program/tablet and exchange it for one with CMYK capabilities? If I do this, will the document that I've used in elements be able to work in CMYK mode so I can send it to a printer? ...or do I make a really good print to a desktop printer and then just duplicate those for my cover?

I came across a great web site where you can perform free RGB to CMYK conversions on your image files (up to 5mb). They offer a choice of numerous CMYK profiles. For U.S. commercial offset printing of your DVD cover, I'd recommend choosing GRACoL2006_Coated1v2.icc

Why won't audio tracks play in order?

Yesterday I ripped 7 CD's of an audio recording of a meeting that I had purchased. I put them into a playlist with the correct order — disk 1, disk 2, etc., each disk having more than one track. However, when I play the playlist it does not play in order but jumps around. I did not use Shuffle to make it do that so I don't know why this is happening. I am wondering if it is because I did not manually number the tracks within each disk. Could that be a factor?

I've had this same problem. Copy To Play Order didn't work. Shuffle is off for everything. Tried deleting and re-synching. Nothing.
But I found this elsewhere that fixed everything:
Even when you don't have Shuffle pushed, your iPod automatically shuffles songs after you start the first song.
To turn this off, after selecting a song, tap the album cover. A menu appears with the time bar and another set of shuffle and repeat icons. Tap the shuffle button to turn shuffle off and the playlist with play in order.
I wouldn't have EVER thought to tap the album cover to find this hidden shuffle button. Now my playlist works perfectly. Yea!

Der Filter Differenz-Wolken funktioniert

Ich benutze Photoshop auf einem Windows 7 Rechner, der extra von meinem Firmenadmin dafür zusammen gestellt wurde. Heute Morgen habe ich die Updates der Cloud geprüft. Es ist alles installiert und auf dem neuesten Stand.
Bisher funktionierte mein Photoshop recht fehlerfrei. Nun gibt es jedoch einen nervigen Punkt für den ich leider keine Lösung finde. Die Chathilfe ist leider nicht erreichbar und Telefonhilfe hierfür gibt es nicht.

Dabei wird im Laufe der Zeit der Filter > Renderfilter > Differenz-Wolken benötigt. Der Filter ist auch anwählbar, bewirkt aber in den meisten Fällen keinerlei Effekt.
Gestern Abend funktionierte er nicht, heute Morgen funktionierte er plötzlich bei ein paar Ebenen, doch kaum versuche ich es nach ein wenig Arbeitszeit erneut will er wieder nicht. Ich kann nicht 20 mal am Tag meinen Rechner hoch und runter fahren in der Hoffnung, dass zufällig der Filter wieder anspringt. (Ich habe es vor diesem Forumseintrag versucht und auch das bewirkte keine Veränderung.) Ich habe kleinere Dateien mit weniger Ebenen verwendet u.s.w.
Es wäre schön wenn jemand eine Lösung für dieses Problem wüsste. Danke.

Nun ja, die Antwort liegt bestimmt in deinen Ebenen, aber da wir die nicht sehen, können wir nicht wissen, was du da nicht richtig machst. Ist aber auch irgendwie Ritze. Der normal Wolkenfilter ließe sich genau so verwenden, man muss eben nur etwas mehr maskieren.

Printing Issue - Band across picture

I use an HP Officejet 7110 to print photographs from Photoshop Elements 4. Color Settings are set to "Always Optimize for Printing" and Color Management is set to "Same as Source" (sRGB) with Rendering Intent at the default of "Relative Calorimetric." When the photo is printed, there is a 1/4" band that looks like a streak that goes from one side to the other about a 1/4" down from the top (or bottom, don't know which is top). The rest of the picture is pretty much very good. I have tried Printer Color Management, but that does not work at all. A printer self test printout looks OK.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? I believe it may be a printer problem rather than a PSE4 problem, but haven't a clue what it could be.

Here are the instructions I got from HP including location and a picture of mine.
CAUTION: Extreme care must be taken during the cleaning process. If too much pressure is placed on the encoder strip, it could become scratched (destroying the etching on the strip), bent, stretched, broken, or dislodged from the inside of the printer. If any of this damage occurs, the printer may have to be repaired
Open the top cover and find the encoder strip.
It is a mostly clear strip that reaches from the left to the right and is located above the silver carriage rod. The strip is clear with very fine lines imprinted on it, giving it a light gray appearance. It is approximately .5 mm or .2 inches high.

Moisten a small lint-free cloth or facial tissue.
With the moist tissue, gently grasp both the front and the back of the encoder strip. Slide the cloth or tissue back and forth as far as possible, taking care not to touch the carriage rod.
(I had to move the print cartridge carriage to the center in order to clean the right end of the strip.)
BE CAREFUL if you do this. :)
FWIW the specs on your printer say card stock up to 110#.

How to remove and destroy Mac Book hard drive

I have an old MacBook no longer working, won't even fire up. I wish to dispose of it but even though it is not working I would like to make sure everything on it is wiped. So I guess I need to remove the hard drive and smash it? How do I remove it?

I would remove the cover and find the drive..... I have not done that myself, so I have no detailed suggestion.

Early iMacG5 1.8 Ghz got really hot!

Hi everyone! I came home last night and the whole house smelled like an electrical fire. Come to find out my iMac was the culprit. the machine was off but yet the back of it was real hot. I hit the power button and the machine booted up fine. I turned it off and remove th back cover to find nothing but the smell. All the caps looked ok, not flash marks anywhere, or fried circuts on the logic board. I believe this is a power supply issue...what do you guys think? Does anyone know if apple cover this model in the enxtension program or is it just for the 20" version? Thanks for the help! Eric

Here's what Apple's Repair extension programs cover. In any case, take your machine in and have it checked out, electrical fires are not fun. It could well be the power supply, but don't take any chances.
