KEND - restrict realignment run for a period only

Hi All,
I would like to restrict my realignment run using KEND for particular period only.
1) Is this possible by creating new characteristic? Or through any development activity?
If possible which table or field is to be considered for creating characteristic?

I'm sorry, but there is no period option to run the realignment.
The realignment tool only accesses the CO-PA object table CE4XXXX (XXXX = name of the operating concern). The profitability segments stored in this table don't contain a date because this would lead to
severe performance problems in CO-PA reporting due to the huge number of profitability segments created by the system. So it isn't possible to perform a realignment based on a specific date, only the characteristics are possible as selection criteria for a realignment run.
Please also note that only the characteristics activated in transaction KEQ3 can be used in realignments.
A realignment is only carried out on those profitability segments which meet the selection criteria for that request. These are defined in the selection criteria. This criteria must be true for a PA segment before
it is changed by the realignment.
To run the realignment successfully, the following conditions have to be fulfilled:
1) The system should find an entry in table CE4xxxx which meets the selection criteria.
2) The source fields of the derivation steps which should be performed by the realignment run must not be initial.
3) During the realignment the first successful derivation step overwrite any existing values for that characteristic. This is different from how derivation works when posting actual or plan data.

I checked in OB52 postings periods are open for 2009(all periods)
SAP note 1150235 (all corrections) and 1153718 are completely implemented.
Still the problem is not resolved.

I would like to refer you to the already implemented note 1153718 which states :
After you implement the changes, the system issues error message AA 697
"Posting run for future period requested (check entry)" immediately when
you use a fiscal year that is in the future. In principle, you can
customize this message. However, in this case, no settings are taken
into account; the system always issues an error message.

Depending on the library you are using, can you verify whether you can use one of the following variables?
1PERIK
1PERW
5ACPERI
6-PERIK
8WPERIO
All these variables use fiscal periods and not calendar periods, that way you don't have to bother about number of weeks in a period, unless you really need to do the calculation based on number of days in a period.
If your library does not support these variables, then pl copy one of these variables (GS11) with appropriate details into a custom variable and use it in your report.

Not sure if you interpreted Mr. Rajesha's inputs clearly.
The planning horizon solution works, but you need to ensure you run MRP with NETPL key.
Anyways for PIR solution, all you need to do is just maintain 2 lines for the same material. Line - 1 will be version 00 which is active, line - 2 will be version 01, which is in-active.
Now in version 00 maintain the values for the next 3 months & for the remaining months maintain in version 01. So as you move along the time line, all you would need to do is copy from 01 to 00 only for the months for which you want to plan.
This way with just 2 versions you can have your control & visibility. Do this in your sandbox & check if it is workable for you.

You can do it using the different loops like While loop and For Loop. Roderic has already stated how to do it using a for loop. I have illustrated in the attached vi how to do it using a while loop and Elapsed Time function. Take a look.

Issues with Shared Variables in Systems Running for Extended Periods of Time

I am designing a large SCADA system using LabVIEW DSC and cRIOs. My plan is to use shared variables to communicate the majority of the information across my network (much like "tags" in a normal SCADA system).
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced issues (connection failures, etc...) with shared variables running on systems for months (both real-time and windows based PCs) without the cRIO or PC being restarted/redeploying the variables. What is the stability of the Shared Variable Engine over extended periods of time?

I have a system with 2 cRIO's each with Ethercat extension chassis. Each cRIO hosts ~100 NSV's and is running the scan engine at 40 Hz.
Each cRIO is coupled to a HMI that has front panel control bindings to NSV's hosted on the cRIO as well as a windows hosted mirror library (used for citadel db logging) that is also bound to the cRIO NSV library. The cRIO's have monay months of contiguous run time without reboot and I closely monitor cpu and memory usage and also rt performance metrics and will log faults if there are any such events. I also use NSV's for messaging from the HMI to the cRIO for such things as setting zero offset values and deploying configuration parameters. My overall findings are that the SV engine and the PSP are stable and efficient (especially NSV<->NSV and NSV<->HMI binding)

Depreciation run for past period

I have run the depreciation for period 1,2,3,4 and 5....
but some assets are purchased on 1st of april and this is not punched in system.......
now i am acquired it on 1st of april.......and also trying to run depreciation for period 1 and system is not allowing it....
what is the solution for it...........

Hi,
system will post the depreciation for period 1,2,3 & 4 in period 5. and period 6 onwards it will calculate normal depreciation.
for example. if depreciation for a particular asset is as below.
period 1 : 1000
period 2 : 1000
period 3 : 1000
period 4 : 1000
period 5 : 1000
period 6 : 1000
system will post depreciation of 5000 in period 5 nd there are 1000 will be posted.

Multiload for one period only.

Can you run the multiload process for just one period? We're receiving a file with 1 period and another with 12 periods all to run through the same location. These would have to run through different FDM batch processing (Open Batch and OpenBatchML) requiring different file names and formats. I want to standardise these extracts and process both through ML.
When I try it seems to load OK but fails when running validation. No error message produced.
Has anybody else had this issue or developed a solution to get round it?

Thanks for confirming this. I'll just have to create a seperate routing to handle the Standard load files. Bit of a pain, given the POV values are determined by the file name and not a header as in multiload.

After Server running for a period of time, get Connection Errors

We're experiencing some serious issues during performance testing.
Its only occurring with WebLogic 10.3 and only occurring with connections of type oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection.
After a good while testing, the server fills up with the following exceptions....

The issue did seem to reduce when the initial connections were increased and the error also became less frequent when the login delay was implemented.
However, since my code is generating Maps the connection was being used to determine the orientation of the North arrow on the map for the particular view ... The ultimate solution was to remove the render-time database connection and calculate the orientation angle in code.

We are configuring the solman 7.1 and we are in Preparation step - Set Up LMDB
The Job "SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001" which is to Synchronize Connections between SLD and LMDB is in process from Yesterday evening 6:00 pm
onwards and still it is running.

Most of the errors you mentioned above are not relevant for this issue.
What is the CR content of your SLD? If the CR content is damaged then follow 1891566 - Repair of LMDB CR Content
otherwise you may go through 1555955 - SAP Solution Manager 7.1 - Performance Checks for LMDB to troubleshoot.

You can't do.
See below note:
It is possible to repeat the posting run within the period last posted. However, in contrast to the first run for a period, the repeat run can be restricted to specific assets. In the repeat run, the system posts changes to depreciation, as compared to the depreciation amounts from the previous run.
Normally the repeat run is carried out at the end of the fiscal year, if completing postings are necessary because of corrections to manual depreciation or depreciation terms.

Depreciation error - Unplanned posting run allow for future period

Dear ,
Need urgent advice for depreciation error happen in our production system.
FYI, our fiscal year variant 2013 = Feb 2012 - Jan 2013 ( We are now at month-end close for Pr 1 2013 ).And fiscal year close 2012 AJAB and Carry forward ARJW have successfully run for new FY 2013.
In short, in our asset accounting user was accidentally run unplannned depreciation for future period 12/2013 of one particular asset, while we are now in Pr 1/2013. And, Pr12/2013 is open for asset posting.However, no FI posting posted into the system.
Just a curiosity as to why system allow user to run unplanned depreciation for future posting without giving an error message to follow the posting cycle.
The impact/error of above unplanned depreciation run:
User is not allowed to execute AFAB depreciation run for Pr 1/2013. Even worst, in the AFAB program shows from Pr 1/2013 - 12/2013 is already posted when we do depreciation test run. We can't perform any planned,repeat,restart for Pr1/2013.
Because of only one asset had accidentally run for Pr12/2013, all of our asset (96,773 asset) cannot proceed with depreciation run for Pr 1/2013 in the new fiscal year.
This is high priority as it will impact the entire depreciation run for 12 month of our company.
Your early reply on this issue is greatly appreciated.

FYI, the asset posting actually has been executed but no document was posted as there's no value.
I've check the 2 tables below:
ANLC - No numbers of run for any period in FY2013
ANLP - No depreciation run was posted in FY13 (all periods).
Is there anyway for us to do normal planned run for Pr 1/2013? As i understand SAP has no function to perform reversal depreciation run in AFAB. How
With regard to the posting period 12/2013 that is open for user, I already highlighted this to the respective custodian.
