Kensington Si600 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer

I have bought a Kensington Si600 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer and and I have a problem. When I press the laser pointer button with a powerpoint 2003 or 2008 on my macbook, it goes to the All Windows screen as well as turning the laser on. What can I do to avoid this?

Hi Mark, Not sure you got my first reply to this thead. I had the same problem, which occurs because the Kensington presenter is hardwired to send an 'F5' to the system when the laser pointer is activated. By default 'F5' is set as 'All windows' in Mac OS X, but this can be changed in 'System Preferences -> Expose'. If you disable or change this setting it has no influence on the action button on you keyboard (you know the one with the rectangles).

Hi guys, I have the same problem. The solution seems to be to redefine the 'All windows' short cut in System Preferences -> Expose. It seems Kensington SI600 is sending an F5 to the system. This is apparently hardwired and can't be changed.

  • I would like to know if there is a wireless presenter with laser point and vibrating alerts that is compatible with MAC?

Any device that Palm manufaturers currently should be able to get the data from the older device.
Although Palm doesn't make handhelds anymore you can get a smartphone and transfer the data over to it without issue.
If you go to the new WebOS you can transfer the data over it just might take a little work.

  • Wireless keyboard with integrated pointing device

I would really like to buy a keyboard that has a good pointing devise integrated into the keyboard.
Here is one of the only devises that appears to satisfy this but it is Windows only:

Does anyone know of one? It seems like a logical product for Apple to offer since it frees users from the confines of the desktop only computing experience that mouse dependency requires.
Also, for these forums should there be a Peripheral section under hardware since Apple sells mice and keyboards?

    Hello skarlsrud
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I don't have that keyboard, but a little searching turned up some folks using that keyboard with there iMac's.
Have a look at this ☞ [Logitech Forum Thread|http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=mackb&thread. id=397] to see what other users say.

  • HT3325 Can the remote be used with the laser/pointer?

The latest update of keynote support wireless remote control with mirror display on hand, which is great. But, this would be perfect if it would allow to remotely (wirelessly) use the laser/pointer available in keynote presentation mode. Is that possible?

Thanks. I understand, but my question referred to use 2 iPads to make the presentation, one connected to the projector and the other in  hand.

  • My Rapoo 2300 wireless presenter didn't work with Mountain Lion

    Hi.
Two months ago I bought a Rapoo 2300 Wireless Presenter that work perfectly with a MacBook 13' with Snow Leopard. Unfortunetly, when I tried use the same product in my new MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion, I can't. I want to know if there is any solution to this problem? Thank you for your time.

Time to give up on the Rapoo and find a current presenter device that meets your needs and/or requirements. It would be beneficial if you could try it with your MacBook Pro, either in store, or with a return policy if it does not work.
    Things to consider:
Application compatibility (e.g. Powerpoint, Keynote, etc.)
Current Apple hardware and Operating System compatibility
Has to do better than claiming OS X 10.5 or later
No support software (device driver) installation
    Radio distance
    Wireless, USB dongle
    Bluetooth v2.1 +
    Laser

  • Keynote 2.1 - is laser pointer available for presentations on your mac

I love that you can now control your keynote presentations from my mac that are being displayed on an external monitor with the ipad (keynote 2.1).
However, I don't see how to use the laser pointer in this format. If I run a presentation from my iPad, I just touch and hold to bring up a laser pointer. But, when I am remotely controlling the presentation from my iPad, I don't see a way to do that. Is this possible? Am I just missing something?
If this is not possible, please add to the next update!

  • Help, please! I am suddenly being presented with CYMK colors to 2 decimal points.  What did I accidentally change and how can I fix it?

This is driving me crazy. I am suddenly being presented with CYMK colors to 2 decimal points.  Too much info for me.  What did I accidentally change and how can I fix it?  I've been through all of the preferences, views etc. I can find but no luck.  Thinking this has something to with the color settings (obviously) but with all of the possible options there I could use some help.  Thanks, all!

May have been a switch from RGB to CMYK.
Or you moved one of the sliders with shift key pressed.

  • Can I use the Ethernet Port for a computer when it is also used as a wireless network with an Airport Extreme as the access point for the wireless network

Can I use the Ethernet Port  of the A1264 Airport Express to connect to the Ethernet port of a computer that does not have wireless capability when the Airport Express is also used on a wireless network with an Airport Extreme 5th generation as the access point for the network?
    I have AE 5th gen
looking to buy (from ebay) the AEX A1264
Various computers, printers and hubs for the network
    Is this possible to do?

Bob, Thanks for the info. I have read different articles that said yes, but I wanted to make sure before I commit to buy. I have an older A1084 which I could not use the Ethernet port. I know at one point I was able to when I was on 10.4. Now that I am on an Intel processor and 10.8 I am going to have to upgrade some of my Apple wireless hardware.
    Thanks Again.

  • Trouble with 6300 wireless presenter

I have been trying to connect wireless presenter from my 6300 to my computer. Its a toshiba laptop with Vista basic i have installed pc suite and and the wireless presenter and the icon is in the task bar running and says 'waiting for connection'. The phone is paired with the computer and bluetooth is on both devices, in the presenter on the phone shows my computer but when i press connect a message on my phone says 'connection failed. make sure bluetooth device on the pc is ready and try again. I have hit a brick wall and dont have a high technology knowlege can anyone help!!!!

You need to disable BT connection on PC Suite Connection Manager as it will reserve BT COM port so Wireless Presenter is not able to use that port. After this, create connection using phone (Wireless Presenter application).

  • Laser pointer in keynote sporadically works,  presentation/projector?

I've used the ipad for a number of presentations in different contexts (i.e. projectors environments), and I really like it (but neeed the ability to show movies!). My first presentation, I got cheers when I held the ipad up to the students.
However, the laser pointer has really spotty performance, sometimes works, sometimes doesnt. Most annoying, is the apparent randomness of it. Some slides will show the laser pointer when you tap on the screen, others dont. Doesn't seem reproducible either.
The laser pointer is a really good idea, but needs to be improved so its robust.

I believe the answer to your question is no.
I use Keynote's Integrated Remote function on my iPhone 4S to control my Keynote presentation on my iPad Air. It works well over wi-fi and bluetooth (a touch of delay on bluetooth). However, I am not able to get the virtual laser pointer to work by touching the screen on the iPhone.
I have not yet tried using the iPhone as a remote while the iPad is hooked up to a projector.

  • I want to use my jetpack 890L as a wireless router to allow wireless printing with a canon laser printer. Is this possible, and does the jetpack support WPS?

I want to use my jetpack 890L as a wireless router to enable wireless printing with a canon laser printer. Is this possible, and does the jetpack support WPS?

I’ve used several wireless printers with a 4510 and 5510 Jetpack and they all print just fine. The MHS890L does not support WPS. The WPS Wikipedia article briefly addresses the reason why you should not use WPS.  If you’re having trouble setting up your printer the manufacturer has a toll free support line to help you. Your Jetpack has the Wi-Fi Password on the bottom, under the battery, and or in the LED display.

  • Keynote and Microsoft Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000

    Hey folks,
i seached on this in the forum, but actually did not find any hints about my problem.
So I switched from PowerPoint to Keynote some weeks ago and got to do my first big presentation with Keynote in some days. I am amazed by the possibilities Keynote offers.
Still, I am stuck with a problem:
I am using the Microsoft Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000 with its original MS drivers. I am just amazed by that piece of hardware. For those who dont know it: Its a Laptop Mouse which you can flip. On the downside, you've got presenter controls like Forward/Back/Play/Louder and a laser pointer button. You can easily switch between mouse mode and presenter mode, so you dont hit mouse buttons accidentially when presenting and vice versa.
With PowerPoint, it just works as it should. With Keynote, it doesn't work. The only thing that works it to change the volume and the play/pause button. Anyway, Keynote does not react to it.
    Somebody encountered that problem before?
    Thanks
    Thorben

I'm running into that problem right now. I really like the mouse, but I've got to get it working with Keynote, else, I'll have to return the product.
I've tried using Steermouse, but it doesn't seem to be able to remap those those "Presenter" keys. The analysis is able to read the button presses, but the driver isn't able to remap.
If anyone knows of a workaround, please let me know! I'll try Applescript and some other things, but I'm about to give it up and just get a separate presentation tool.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Wireless Presentation Conroller

I have a Kensington handheld presentatoin pointer. I basicly
has a forward button a backward button a stop button and a laser
pointer. It works great with power point but I want to make a Flash
presentation and use it as well. what action scrip do I need to use
to get this to work. I am new to flash so please be detailed. I
have completed the 2 disc Esential training for flash from
lynda.com that is about all I know.

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
I'm afraid the tv cannot do this, nor do I see this becoming an tv feature, IMHO they are unlikely to support PP at anytime when they have their own keynote application which is arguably a more visually pleasing experience anyway.
To be honest for the purposes of giving a keynote presentation I can see the tv being useful, but for a keynote that requires user interactivity I don't see much benefit, (on a slightly cynical point I doubt the remote would still be around after the first few hours) in my mind conversion to a movie would be by far the better route to take, but unfortunately the tv won't loop movies.
