Kerberos tickets not used for mounting CIFS/SMB shares ( 10.5.3)

Has there been an improvment since 10.5.3 for anyone regarding this ?

OH THIS IS SO WRONG
all the GUI techniques fail to use the TGT but using the COMMAND LINE WORKS OK. this includes SMB and AFP (our AFP service is kerberised)
THIS WORKS
mkdir /Volumes/manualmount
mount_afp "afp://;AUTH=Client%20Krb%20v2@yourserver/volumename" /Volumes/manualvault
BUT THIS DOESN'T
"apple-k" (connect to server) -> prompts for name and password
our workround then is that we are going to roll out leopard to our users with something like this in a login script to connect to one volume on our principal afp server. that way it appears in the sidebar AND once the server trusts the client they can connect to the other volumes for free.
this is far from satisfactory, but it is simple from the user's perspective.
now if we can only get the loginwindow to prompt when a password is due to expire

1. Does this mean that ZCM does not support rights authentication using standalone?
2. And with password authentication can i limit users to 1 device only?

boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Is it still very slow?

Apps are tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them and you will always need to use that ID and password in order to update them.
Saying that you do get to update them on your new details makes no sense at all.

Both Pooled and Cluster Tables are stored as tables within the database. Only the structures of the two table types which represent a single logical view of the data are defined within the ABAP/4 Data Dictionary. The data is actually stored in bulk storage in a different structure. These tables are commonly loaded into memory (i.e., 'buffered') due to the fact they are typically used for storing internal control information and other types of data with little or no external (business) relevance.
Pooled and cluster tables are usually used only by SAP and not used by customers, probably because of the proprietary format of these tables within the database and because of technical restrictions placed upon their use within ABAP/4 programs. On a pooled or cluster table:
Secondary indexes cannot be created.
You cannot use the ABAP/4 constructs select distinct or group by.
You cannot use native SQL.
You cannot specify field names after the order by clause. order by primary key is the only permitted variation.

Mount error: ...not superuser and mount.cifs not installed SUID

I'm trying to automount Samba shares but get this everytime I try to mount the partition:
mount error: permission denied or not superuser and mount.cifs not installed SUID
I have this entry in the fstab:
//192.168.2.1/Capsule /media/capsule cifs auto,noserverino,username=xxx,password=xxx,workgroup=WORKGROUP,iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,suid,users 0 0
I tried different options (suid,users or without them) same results.
I also tried to chown like this:
chmod u+s mount.cifs
But still no luck
Need help please.

It seems that mount.cifs will only let you mount at directory that you are the owner of. I think this may be changeable with the UID option but I have not figured it out.

Ipod touch 2g not used for months, battery drained and taking way too long to charge

I had an ipod touch 2g that got wet a couple of months ago. They were inside a jacket pocket when the rain started pouring. After that, the screen only turn white when turned on. I just had the LCD replaced, but since i havent used it in months, the battery has been drained. I plugged it into my PC to charge for a couple of hours already, but its still not enough. The lowbatt icon is there, but iTunes still doesnt recognize it despite being plugged in for a few hours already.
Does it really take this long to charge an ipod touch that has been completely drained and not used for months? I'm worried there might be other problems besides the LCD when it got wet before. Should I have it checked again for battery charging problems? Or am i just being impatient?

I tried charging it through the adapter, still got the same problem. So i had it checked again and the battery apparently also needed to be replaced. Haven't had any problems with it since then!

I'd have to agree with Charles. Powering down at the On/Off switch is always recommended as it will ensure the cartridges get capped properly.
The DJ 1510 uses IPH (integrated printheads). They won't 'dry out' if not used for a week. If you happen to run into any print quality issues you can always run a Cartridge Clean using the automated tool, see the link below for details...

This may also be due to the Sudden Termination feature built into OS X, which will effectively quit a process if the system is demanding resources. Mail can be a RAM hog at times, and if your system only has a few GB of RAM, then when other programs demand more and you have not been using Mail then the system will invoke Sudden Termination to quit it so more RAM is available elsewhere.
Do you have only ~2-4GB of RAM in your system? Check for this in the About This Mac option in the Apple menu, and if so then consider upgrading to more if your system supports it. Alternatively you can try quitting other applications to free up more RAM.
To see which programs are using the most RAM, open the Activity Monitor utility and choose My Processes from the drop-down menu. Then ensure Real Memory is checked in the View > Columns menu, and click this menu's title to sort the items by it.
Keep in mind that sudden termination does not fully quit the program, so Mail may still show up in Activity Monitor when you open it even though it may be closed from the Dock.

HP B210a goes into a sleep mode if not used for several hours,

Running my B210a eprinter in windows vista. The printer goes into a sleep mode if not used for several hours. The power button is slowly flashing dim then bright, and I need to manually touch the printer's screen to enable it to print. If printer not used for several days, the only way I can make it work is to unplug and plug. Any suggestions or help appreciated. J Rice
