Kernel Label problem...
Hi,
I am installing a Unicode SolMan 4.0 on 2003 server.
I have downloaded a following CD for Kernel -
<b>51031778_11 NW 2004s SR1 UC-Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on IA32 32bit</b>
When I give the LABEL.ASC for kernel, it does not accept it and give me following error -
You entered: <b>E:/nw04s/kernel/DVD_NW_2004s_SR1_Kernel_Windows__LNX_X86/LABEL.ASC
Found the label SAP:AKK:700:DVD_KERNEL:SAP Kernel 700:D51031778 but need label
SAP:AKK:700:KERNEL:.WINDOWS_I386:</b>
Do I need to merge both Unicode and Non-Unicode into one. Why I see Windows_LNX_X86 in the in the kernel CD?
Please let me know if anybody has any idea about.
I will appreciate your help.

Hi Sume Chau
I also encountered same problem when I was installing a Unicode SolMan 4.0 on Win 2003 SQL server 2005.
I have downloaded a following CD for Kernel -
51031778_11 NW 2004s SR1 UC-Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on IA32 32bit
When I give the LABEL.ASC for kernel, it does not accept it and give me following error -
You entered: E:/nw04s/kernel/DVD_NW_2004s_SR1_Kernel_Windows__LNX_X86/LABEL.ASC
Found the label SAP:AKK:700:DVD_KERNEL:SAP Kernel 700:D51031778 but need label
SAP:AKK:700:KERNEL:.WINDOWS_I386:
Can U have any solution for that?
I am trying with other kernel which doesn't show unicode as (51031778_3)
I appreciate your help

kamalHi udo lang,
I have downloaded the Kernel file 51031778_3 NW 2004s SR1 Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on IA32 32bit today. I will try to fix the problem by using this kernel.
I also got reply from Sap that solution for this issue is:
This is most unusual. Due to the currently running RampUp the
DVD's could have been updated.
I suggest that you try the following,
Download both the Unicode and NonUnicode Kernel files from the
SAP Service Market Place.
The Kernel DVD 51031778 contains the Kernel for Unicode and for Non-
Unicode, as you wrote, in directory "", label:
"SAP:AKK:700:KERNEL::WINDOWS_X86_64:"
Please check if you start Unicode Installation. Due to an incorrect
procedure sapinst requireds both Kernel-CD.
With the next release will be it correct. If you start a Unicode
installation it will be a unicode.
51031792_5 NW 2004s SR1 UC-Kernel 7.00 AIX 64bit
51031792_1 NW 2004s SR1 Kernel 7.00 AIX 64bit
Etract them to one directory, like:
<downloadDIR>/
kernel/
KN_WINDOWS_I386/
KU_WINDOWS_I386/
CDLABEL.ASC
LABEL.ASC
LABELIDX.ASC
When you ware asked for the kernel DVD, please enter
<downloadDIR>/kernel
SAPinst should take the right kernel version for the installation
automatically.
You may additionally refer to the below note for reference.
921593 Inst. SAP NetWeaver 2004s SR1 on UNIX
If the problem is resolved i will let you know. Thanks for your assistance

Solving Kernel/Xorg problems
Hi all,
I've been using linux for several years now, and I like it a lot, but it's still not clear in my mind what to do when I run into kernel or Xorg problems.
When I run into a problem with a userland application, it's usually quite simple to identify the culprit or at least the apparent culprit, find the relevant bugzilla, file a bug and try to help the people in charge to fix the problem.
In contrast, the world of low-level stuff is a lot more intimidating. For example, I have had several display and supsend/hibernate problems with my laptop for more than one year now, but I still have no idea what to do about them. What can/ should I do about kernel/Xorg problems?I didn't want this thread to be about my specific problems, but here goes:
- Suspend fails about half of the time, the screen blanks (with a cursor blinking) and the computer just hangs. It is completely dead (REISUB doesn't work)
- Hibernate doesn't work, when I turn the computer on, it checks the filesystems and boots normally
- About 10% of the time, the login manager (currently kdm, but I had the same problem with gdm) shows with a very low resolution. Restarting xorg usually fixes the problem.
I probably have a few more that I'm forgetting at the moment. -
What is involved in fixing the kernel task problem and what are the consequences
Ah yes. The kernel task problem. My Macbook pro encounters it at least once every day. It peaks at around 600% CPU usage when I have MainStage or Logic open. A main stage patch that normally uses 40-45% of CPU is redlining at 100% cpu usage- resulting in awful clicks and pops. Did i mention this happened during a live show yesterday? Because it did. I can open the CPU monitor and look at whats going on. It's always the same deal. Kernel task runs it's course and then goes back to normal.
I've seen various posts on fixing the problem. I believe I understand how to fix it more or less (ish). I just want to make sure I can go about it in such a way that doesn't mess with anything else on my computer.
My computer: macbook pro 8.2 15' w/ crucial m500 ssd in main & optical bays. 8gb of ram. latest version of mavericks. Standard stuff.ssd in main & optical bays
Your unsupported hardware configuration is likely contributing to the problem, if not entirely causing it. -
Solman 4.0 Linux Oracle Install - Label Problem
Hi All,
I'm trying to install SOLMAN 4.0 on Linux x86_64 with Oracle.
I have selected a UNICODE install, but when it comes time to specify the media location I get a message stating that it found label....
SAP:AKK:700:UKERNEL: <etc>
but that it needs....
SAP:AKK:700:KERNEL: <etc>
On the flip-side, if I attempt installing NON-UNICODE (by not putting the check in the 'unicode' checkbox) I get the message stating that it found label:
SAP:AKK:700:KERNEL: <etc>
but that it needs....
SAP:AKK:700:UKERNEL: <etc>
Am I crazy (don't answer that)????
Has anyone else expericenced this? Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Any help is appreciated!
Best Regards,
Than MartensThan,
Did you ever find a resolution to this issue.
We are experiencing the same problem on a Linux x86-64 server attempting to install Netweaver.
Thanks -

Hi, thanks for looking over my sudden Mac Pro problem. Recently, my Mac Pro Intel Xeon started to have continuous Kernel Panics, all during simultaneous programs running, but also with a common Mac torrent program running, Transmission. Keep in mind that I've ran Transmission before in the past and this problem just came up. I did some research and a lot of people were complaining about Transmission causing Macs to slow down, were causing kernel panics, etc.-
So, I opened up my Mac Pro, cleaned all the dust on and around the motherboard, reinserted the 8 GB of RAM I have (description below), ran a full defrag through iDefrag, zapped the PRAM and reset the PMU..but within a day, this morning, my Mac Pro had another Kernel Panic. Within this timeframe I refrained from using any torrent program and when the Kernel Panic occurred, I had Safari and iTunes open.
- Mac Pro: OS X 10.6.8, 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
- 8 GB, 1066 MHz DDR3 from OWC ( Purchased in March 2010 )
- When the kernel panics first started appearing, I ran an Extended Apple Hardware Test (about 1 month ago), and this was the result:
4MEM/62/40000006
0x79c29e98
Pass #12
Below is the most recent Kernel Panic I got, this morning's. It would be great if someone who knows more about this would be able to help. Thanks!

Hi! I have a kernel panic problem on my macbook pro! Please help me!!!
Hi! At the Apple store they changed my harddisk twice, but they didn't solve my problem.. Every time I try to install applications or to update the software, the kernel panic message appears (you need to restart your computer..etc) and I don't know what to do! I have already sent the signal to apple and verified permissions and when I did the hardware test, it appeared that i have a 4MEM/1/40000000:0xa9facf98 error...
this is the problem when I restart my computer:

OS X kernel logs problem when USB flash drive connected.
Previously, my Creative Nomad Muvo TX (MP3 player/1GB USB memory stick) worked fine with my Intel Mac mini (10.4.8) until the latest EFI 1.1 update.
Now the USB drive does not mount or appear in finder. It is visible in the System Profiler in the USB section, but the disk utility does not see it.
While the USB stick is plugged in, the system logs the following line repeatedly:
Nov 26 21:32:39 kernel[0]: USBF: 2517.425 AppleUSBEHCI[0x3969000]::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 253, timing out!
Booting in Windows XP (with bootcamp) and plugging in the USB memory stick works fine. So the USB stick and the Mac mini hardware is functioning.
Other USB 2 external harddrives are functioning properly in OS X.
I suspect that the latest Mac OS X or EFI 1.1 firmware update has spoilt my previously happy USB memory stick connection.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in adcvance.
StephanusHi, Stephanus.
1. If Creative does not support that device with a Mac, then that should tell you something. Even if it worked in the past, since they don't support it, there's no guarantee that changes to Mac OS X would render it unusable as you've noted. With that kind of attitude from Creative, I'd think about switching to an iPod...
Since you can use it when booted into Windows with Boot Camp, you might want to consider running Parallels Desktop for Mac. This leverages the virtualization technology of the Intel chips, permitting you to run Mac OS X and Windows simultaneously, rather than having to boot into Windows with Boot Camp. Parallels is cheaper than buying an iPod.
2. The USB message you reported is essentially indicating that the OS detected a USB device but cannot talk to it. This is unlikely to be something you're going to work around, e.g. with Terminal.
3. If you want to pursue this further, you can:3.1. Install the USB debug kit for your version of Mac OS X. Apple provides a variety of Mac OS X USB Software Debug Versions that "are used to provide information about USB device and interface detection, driver and interface matching, driver loading and information generated as a result of normal and abnormal conditions." You could install the package corresponding to the version of Mac OS X you are running and this may help identify if the issue is a USB problem and the exact USB anomaly causing such.
3.2. Take what you've been able to lear from the USB debugger and do one or more of the following:• Join the Apple USB Mailing List. Once your registration is approved, submit a question including the enhanced output from the USB logger and requesting additional advice. That list is monitored by developers of USB devices. Posts are sometimes answered by Apple engineers.
• Join the Apple Developer Connection at the "free" level, then submit a bug report.
• Submit a Mac OS X Feedback. If Creative has their own forums, ala Discussions, you might also want to search or post there for similar reports.Unfortunately, that's about all I have to offer at this point: I don't have the Creative device and hence can't test it.
I think that Creative is disinterested in helping you is a key issue you need to consider.
Good luck!

Printing Postage labels problems
I purchased a new HP p6203 computer with Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit O/S....
I Attached my not so new H/P c4240 printer which worked fine with Win XP... now when I try to print a Postage label via the U.S.P.S with Paypal that use Pitney Bowes system, it will only print 1/2 of the page with the word "SAMPLE " in red thru it.I have tried both buttons ,meaning the "Print Label button" and the "Print Sample Label" button ,both with the same results.
I am just trying to narrow the problem down .... H/P... the U.S.P.S....Pitney Bowes....Win 7
,or a new printer driver for the C4240 for Win 7 ??? ,any help would be appreciated . Thanks, YorkvetteOhhkays.. Can you try installing Reader 10.1.2 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise.
And then follow the instructions as indicated on: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html to see if it fixes the print issue on your end. -
[SOLVED] Arch Kernel causes problems
Since my very first time installing Arch, i was getting some errors like
Cannot parse block device ids for /dev/sdb2
Cannot find root device /dev/sdb2
and eventually i had found a work-around, by taking the kernel and initramfs files (both 2.6.25.20-114) from another Linux, and also the corresponding modules directory. (Works perfect, using Firefox on it at the moment.)
Now i want to upgrade my kernel eventually (don't have to actually, but i want to, and the problem should not happen anyway) and still, after retrieving the new kernel through pacman (creating the vmlinuz26 and kernel26.img files in /boot, as well as the modules directory) and using it, i get the SAME problem.
The Arch kernels just won't work for me...
Does anyone have an idea what it could be?
(And is there any way to copy the exact error-output i get while trying to boot?)
Thanks.

Hi there
My computer has a kernal panic when I try and boot from my Install Disc.
TechTool Deluxe is showing no hardware problems, I have repaired disc permissions with Disc Utility.
I have just had the superdrive replaced under applecare warranty.
I have read through xlabs suggestions with no luck.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Since the kernal panic occurred from your system install DVD on a recently repaired superdrive through AppleCare, I strongly suggest that you contact AC to advise that you described in your posting.
Or you can go through the Chat with a Support Agent. The online chat support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Let AC deal with it.

KERNEL upgrade problem.
Dear Experts,
Very imp issue. please find time to read and gothrough this.
recently i had updated KERNEL for ECC 6.0 SR2.
after updaing the kerenl files, i'm not able to see the updated patch level
in system status.
Same old patch level is displayed.
1 *what could be the problem?
D:\usr\sap\DEV\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64
this is the path, first i had pasted (copy new and paste in tht kerenl Dir).
it had asked for u want to replace (while pasting) i clicked Yes to all.
so, it got replaced with new extracted files.
and when i started the MMC SAP is not starting UP.
then when i had serached in USR dir, i found another Dir with kerenl fiels for
01 instance (java instance defaultly loaded in ECC 6.0 SR2).
so, i had replaced kerenl files , simply by pasting in to this second path.
D:\usr\sap\DEV\SCS01\exe
then i had started SAP MMC, after a few min it was started and i'm able to log in
to SAP.
But, the problem is I'm not able to see the Upgraded value in System status.
What could be the problem ?
2 *where to check ?
I request you people to give your valuable inputs for
3 *procedure to be follwed in upgrading SAP KERNEL?
4 *what kind of fiels to be downloaded from market place?
i.e Kernel part 1 , kerenl part 2 and other kerenl components in both places
where you can download those kerenl parts.
5 *if any problem occurs in kerenl upgrading how to revert back ?
6 *what kind of precautions to be taken before updating Kerenl ?
7 *system restart is mandatory or not ?
if any extra points to be discussed please let me know that.
Thanking you all in anticipation.
Best regards,
by
Raghav.Hi,
did you stop and restart the system for changing the kernel ?
You can find latest kernel from http://service.sap.com/swdc
Choose your platform and product combination. More detailed info can be found in OSS note: 19466
http://service.sap.com/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=0000019466&nlang=E
and you need to stop SAP before you can change the kernel and after kernel upgrade you restart the system.
For a backup purpose, before changing the kernel. please make a copy of your old kernel directory...
Cheers !!
Satya.
PS: pls reward points if the answer was helpful...Thx.
