I was running excel, firefox only and suddenly I got the warning message on my screen.. can someone tell me whats wrong with my macbook?

are u referring to the airport station config or airport card? because i dont use airport as my router.. and I did try to cancel the config to my airport but i dont know how to do it.. it will auto search the channel when i turn on the airport to connect to wireless..
Am I on the right track?

  • Kernel Panic Can someone pls explain

    Hi there everyone;
Yesterday I got kernel panic (which reminded me of Windows days some 8 months back). The report from the log is below and I have spent some time on this forum and others so I know if it happens I need to do many things to determine the cause, but I was wondering if some of the very skilled people here could have a look at the report from my iMac and tell me if they see any clues as to what might have caused it.

If it is of any importance, the Mac was running fine till Fri when I turned it off as I left for the weekend. I completely unplugged it from electricity as all the other peripherals (WD Studio 1TB attached through Firewire; speakers, HP all in one printer). Upon return I turned it on and all went nice except the WD external HD did not boot, so I had to play with it a bit, plug it in and unplug it untill it kicked in. Then I worked on some pictures in Aperture, started Vuze to download some files and then the curtain came down with the Kernel Panic info.
    Thank you for any comments

Thanx for the tip, I will try it. In the mean time I got another one:

Right before it happened Time Machine failed to finish back up to Time Capsule wirelessly " due to network problems"; again I was downloading stuff through Vuze and my external WD Studio 1TB was all lit up (which is unusual). For now I have disconnected the external HD.
Can anyone tell from the reports what might cause this?

  • Kernel Panic - Can someone read my report?

So recently my Macbook has been acting up. I'll be browsing the internet or listening to music when the screen freezes and starts flickering. I have to hold the power button down to shut it off. When I restart, I'm greeted with a Kernel Panic error and it puts itself in restart limbo. The Macbook also gets a bit hot when this happens. I've found that when I reset the PRAM, it finally boots to my desktop. Downgrading to Snow Leopard and doing a clean install of Mountain Lion yeild the same problem. I'm pretty sure my graphics card is about to kick the bucket but I figured it's best to get an opinion from here.

This crash report shows some program's management of windows is spurring a problem with the graphics card and/or related drivers. This could be from a hardware fault, corruption or bugs in the drivers, or a third-party kernel extension or other software package that is interfering with the "window server" process or the graphics system.
However, with your description of additional flickering and persistence in the face of a clean install, it's quite apparent that the problem is a hardware fault. I would recommend you back the system up ASAP and then get it serviced.
Does it boot and run properly if you load in Safe mode by holding the Shift key at startup?

  • Can someone have a look??

I am trying to use a session variable to display just a users
details, once they have logged in. So i am using the log-in
attributes of DW to validate the user and then in the results page
i want to display that users details only. However I am trying to
use session variables and they don't seem to be working at all!!!!!
the URL of the site is
    http://www.ukdirectsmile.co.uk/LOGIN.ASP
    uid: jeg
    p/w: joom49
any help would be most appreciated!!!

When I log in, it takes me to company.asp .. is that what you
    intended?
Where is the personalized info supposed to appear?
If you are using the Login User server behavior of DW, a
    session variable
called MM_Username is created that you can then create a data
    binding of in
the Data Bindings panel and then drop that object on your
    page. Is that
    what you did?
Unfortunately, ASP code doesn't show when I just look at your
    page .. can
you post the actual code where you are setting and then
    implementing the
    session variable?

  • Can someone post a .pkg of the Dictionary for OS X Tiger?

My efforts to find one already available didn't turn up anything. I'm trying to help a friend who's dictionary has mysteriously vanished and it would just be easiest to re-install the Dictionary application. Of course I could use Pacifist, but I have OLD install disks that don't have it, and he doesn't have his install disks.
    Thanks!

Components of OS X cannot legally be distributed outside of the installer for OS X. But you can replace lost or damaged parts.
How to Use Pacifist to Replace Deleted or Missing OS X Components
Insert the OS X Installer DVD into the optical drive. Use a simple utility like TinkerTool to toggle invisibility so you can see invisible items. Alternatively, open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the prompt enter the following:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes
    Press RETURN.
To turn off the display of invisible files repeat the above command substituting No for Yes.
The install packages are located in the /System/Installation/ folder on the DVD.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist from VersionTracker or MacUpdate. Use it to extract a fresh copy of the missing item(s) from the file archives on your OS X installation DVD. The file archives are in the /System/Installations/ folder (use Go to Folder option in the Go menu of the Finder.)
Here are Four Basic ways to use Pacifist (courtesy of George Orville.)
    A. Drag a .pkg icon onto the Pacifist window .....proceed to step 7.
    B. Click on “Open Package ....” and navigate to package desired and click “Open” in the open/save window.....proceed to step 7.
    C. Insert Mac OS X installer CD and when it mounts, navigate to .... Menu->Go->Go to Folder.
In the path field enter or paste ....
/Volumes/disc name/System/Installation/Packages (where disc name is the name of the CD/DVD that you inserted.
    • Click on the "Go" button .....
    • Drag a .pkg to Pacifist..... proceed to step 7.
The package you'll need will have to be discovered by trial and error, but for most applications you should start with the Essentials.pkg and/or Additional Essentials.pkg.
    D. Insert your Mac OS X install disk 1 .... and open Pacifist.
    1. In Pacifist, select "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" ... dialog may appear asking for disk 2, then disk 3 and finally disk 1 again.... {if DVD is not used)...If “Stop Loading” is selected...the procedure will stop!!!
2a. When loading is complete, a new window appears, click the triangle to display contents of each package...Select item and proceed to step 7.
2b. or click the “Find” icon in the Pacifist window and type the name of the software you need.
    3. In the list that comes back, click the top most entry for the item that you want. ..... that is the one for the English language.
    4. On the top of the Pacifist window, click “verify” .... you will probably be prompted for your password.
    5. Enter checks for.... “verify permissions” and “verify file contents.” and click “verify” ....enter password when prompted.... you will get back output which may look like this:
    20 files were scanned.
20 of 20 files were present on the hard disk.
0 of 20 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package.
0 of 20 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.
    6. Click “close”. Go to step 7.
    Extract or Install........
    7. In the Toolbar (upper left), you now have the option to extract or install. Click a file in the lower list and those two icons will be enabled.
    8. If “Extract to...” is selected.... navigate to the location where the file will be placed, select “choose”, select “extract” in new dialog that appears, authenicate , if prompted, click “OK”.
    9. In the next dialog, click “Extract”.
    10. If “Install” is selected... dialog will appear with the location/path of the installed software. Click “Install”
    11. Type in your password, click “OK”
    • Pacifist will begin to extract files.
    12. In steps 8/10ß.... you also have the choice to “cancel”
    Notes.....
    • Pacifist may find that a file it is installing already exists on the hard disk. Pacifist will present you with an alert panel....
    Stop
    Leave original alone
    Update ..... Default selection
Replace .... Replace option should only be used on full install packages

  • Can someone lay out exactly what the certificate for UM/Lync 2013 needs to be?

Ok, so I spent 480 minutes on my cell phone dealing with this same problem with MS a few weeks ago and they fixed it without telling me exactly what was wrong.  I'm doing another Lync 2013 install and still can't get it to talk to UM.
I need to know the following:
Does the cert for the Exchange 2013 UM services need to be issued from the CA or do I use one of the existing Exchange certs?
What does the subject name need to be?
What needs to be included in the SANs?
After the cert is created, do any changes need to be made to the Lync server, or is the cert simply assigned to the UM roles via Exchange Admin Center, restart UM services, and it works?

You can issue the cert from an internal CA or use a self signed cert as long as it's trusted by Lync.
The subject name should be the server's FQDN.
Nothing else really needs to be a SAN unless you're assigning this cert to a service outside of UM, for example if you needed it to also have a webmail.domain.com or autodiscover.domain.com for the CAS role.
Your best bet is to just let the Exchange certificate wizard create it for you, and nothing really needs to change on the Lync server side, but when you bring the services up you might want to do it during off hours.  I've seen an issue where for the
UM server takes a moment longer to get up to speed and rejects calls sent at it for 15 or so minutes.  But, it should just work.

  • Can I have your help about the software for apple

can I knew how I can change my security Question for apple account?
    Am waitting your answer........

Assuming that you don't know your current answer(s), then from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665 :
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID password, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password, contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
If you can’t reset them via the above instructions (you won't be able to add a rescue email address until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in the country where you and your iTunes account are to get the questions reset (these are user-to-user forums).
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

  • Can someone please tell me where the DLM for Flash Player is?

I cannot get Flash Player to install and the help says to use the Download Manager but I cannot find it anywhere. I would appreciate any help I can get with this. Thank you!

My recommendation would be not to use the download manager; download the executable installer for your environment directly from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
If you still have problems, please specify your operating system & version, as well as your browser(s) & version(s).

  • Kernel Panic - can't start in Safe Mode or from OS Install disc

    Can anyone help me ?,
    Here's what happens :
    1. I press the power button to switch on
    2. The usual grey screen with the apple logo appears but after a few seconds it is replaced by a darker grey/black screen with a message in the centre saying something like 'you need to restart your computer, press restart or press and hold the power button for a few seconds' in several languages(I believe that this is indicates a Kernel Panic)
    3. Powering down as per the instruction just results in the same message appearing when I switch on again......
I've looked at numerous suggested solutions, here and elsewhere - the problem is that they all start with either:
...start your machine in Safe Mode...
    Or
...start your machine from the OS disc...
and I have been unable to do either (the same panic screen just reappears each time)
I've also tried starting in Single User Mode and typing mount uw / (step 1 of another suggested solution) - again it simply hangs after returning a few lines of text...
I have a G4 iMac with superdrive and have recently installed OSX 10.4
Any suggestions you can offer would be gratefully received!

    Hello going:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
One suggestion - if you have third party memory installed, remove it and see if the problem goes away. If it does not and you cannot start from the software install DVD, you will need to take your computer to either an Apple store or to an Apple certified repair facility for diagnosis. Kernel panics may be caused by either hardware or software, but if you cannot start from your install DVD, no further "repair" operations would be possible.

  • I'm getting kernel panics each day as I shut down, the message of restarting by holding down the power button appears on the screen - it began about a month ago and. Do you have any ideas of how to solve the problem?

I'm getting kernel panics each day as I shut down, the message of restarting by holding down the power button appears on the screen - it began about a month ago and. Do you have any ideas of how to solve the problem? I've copied the logs that I found for each kernel panic that still have the message logged. Please help if you can, I have read some of the other comments and perhaps it has something to do with my anti-virus software being on at start up. I have copied the log here. Any advice will be welcome.

Immediate suspects are the additions you added to you rsystem that installed kexts (drivers).  From above,
    com.intego.iokit.VBX6NKE            1
    com.intego.iokit.BehavioralKext            1
    com.intego.kext.VirusBarrier.AppBarrierKPI            10.6.8
    com.intego.kext.VirusBarrierKPI            10.6.8
    com.globaldelight.driver.BoomDevice            1.1
    com.huawei.driver.HuaweiDataCardACMData            4.2
    Two experiments you can try.
    1.  Boot in safe mode and see if you can shut down normally.  All thise additions won't be running in safe mode so this test would indicate it is one of them causing the problem.
    2. Uninstall all the intego VirusBarrier stuff.  That's my first guess and the troublemaker.
