Im not really sure whats wrong, but it seems there is something wrong withe the addresses I put in Bold.
Now the question is, where do I find those things and delete them
Thanks in advance.
Hey Brody, thanks.
Just solved what happened, this is what I did:
Ive got the following devices:
- Universal Audio Apollo Quad (firewire)
- Usb 5 ports hub (keyboard, bluetooth mouse, usb modem d-link, usb flash)
Steps:
1- Disconnected the Apollo, restarted the computer, and the com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily | com.apple.driver.AppleUSBHub(683.4) were gone in the report.
2- Disconnected the usb modem the Ralink address was gone.
Solution:
1. Reinstalled the Apollo software with its last version and no more kernel panic
2. Unistalled my usb modem software (it is not compatible with mavericks) and everything is ok again.

Constant Kernel Panics on Mavericks 10.9.5
Hey Everyone,
I really hope someone out there can help me out because these recent kernel panics I've been getting are driving me crazy because they always happen right in the middle of some important project I'm working on.
Before I share the latest kernel panic diagnostic let me give you a bit of history on my computer. I'm running a late 2011 MBP with Mavericks 10.9.5. I had issues with the logic board in the past and got it replaced. I've only had the computer for a little over 2-2.5 years now, and started noticing lots of issues with it after an overall short period of time, mainly related to performance. The computer would run hot with the fans blazing just from watching an HD video on Youtube. Admittedly I do heavy graphics work with Adobe software and 3D apps like Cinema4D. Some of the research I've been doing regarding these kernel panics has lead me to believe that this could potentially be a heating issue. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. I decided that I would install more RAM in the computer, bringing it up from 8GB to 16GB. Apparently this Macbook model was only sold with a max of 8GB of RAM, but I heard that it could handle up to 16. So maybe this is potentially the issue, I am running more RAM than I'm "supposed" to, even though the system can technically handle it. Other people have reported issues with the Radeon graphics card (I've got the 6770 M installed).
It doesn't end there though, unfortunately. About two months or so ago I started having major problems with Dashboard. After running processor intensive applications (it would seem), Dashboard would start eating up crazy amounts of memory, stalling all my running programs. Some people said that turning off apps within Dashboard that constantly received data (like the weather app for example) could be causing this. I did that, but it didn't help. I would have to constantly go into Application Manager and kill Dashboard. Eventually I got fed up with doing this and found out how to permanently turn it off. That helped with the memory issues. But THEN the kernel panics started happening. They had happened very rarely in the past, but now it is literally every 2-3 days. And the last bit of info I can share to hopefully help someone figure this problem out for me is that I think the last two times they happened, it was while I was in the middle of typing up a document in Open Office. It definitely did just happen while using Open Office, but I can't confirm the previous one. I am going to be very careful to note exactly which application I am using when it happens from here on out.
Here's the Apple Diagnostic report from the last one:

I took a look into the Library/StartupItems folder and I can see the "tun" folder which correspondes to that foo.tun process. Should I just delete the folder? Doesn't seem to be any way to turn it "off". Also, I'm not sure how to turn off or disable Google Chrome Helper. I've been reading from various other people that it has been causing memory leak issues, but couldn't find any way to disable it. Some even said that after they uninstalled Chrome, the Helper app was still running. What should I do about that? Thanks. -
Hi, I haven’t found any help searching the forum and I’ve decided to post.
I have a Macbook Pro that is having kernel panic almost any time I use it on the go.
When it’s on my desk connected to the external monitor works like a clock, when I travel quite certainly a kernel panic will kick in. Then the machine restarts and works pretty good.
I run disk utility every now and then and all is fine, no errors reported.
I can’t find what’s the problem and I would like your help.
The problem appeared after some time I’ve installed a Samsung SSD and upgraded from Lion to Mavericks.
Specs of the machine are as follow:
Macbook Pro 15 inch Mid 2010
Intel core i5
8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
SSD 250GB 840 Evo
Besides from this the MB Pro works perfect.
Here is the last report.
Thanks for all help you can give

have you recently upgraded your RAM? The “0x000000000000000000000000000000000000” values in the Memory Module lines towards the bottom of your post suggest that this RAM might not be fully compatible with your MacBook Pro.
Some 15-inch Mid 2010 MacBook Pros are known to have a defective NVIDIA GPU. Since you’re getting GPU panics, yours might be one with the defect. Apple had a gratis servicing program for this model’s defect that lasted for three years from the date of the MacBook Pro’s purchase; they still offer the servicing program, but it is no longer guaranteed to be gratis. I’d recommend making an appointment at your nearest Apple store, to have them run their Video System Test on your MacBook Pro to confirm whether or not its NVIDIA GPU has this defect. -
Constant kernel panics since Mavericks update
Hardware is a mid 2010 MAcBook Pro 15", i7 2,66ghz, 8 GB RAM, 512 MB Video RAM.
I encounter regular kernel panics for a while now, I think since upgrading to Mavericks. Usually it used to happen every now and then, between once a week and once a month. So I did not really worry in the beginning. As it started getting on my nerves and neither volume repair nor hard ware test did indicate anything wrong, I decided to do a clean install of the latest Mavericks version a few days ago to see if that helps. kernel panics are still there and with the update to 10.9.3. today it seems even worse. I already had two kernel panics today, which make it four this week.
Attached is the latest kernel panic log:

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be or how to track it down? Might the video card or kernel extension be the problem? Any help would be highly appreciated.Seems I found an answer via another forum:
The kernel panic indicates that your GPU is failing. This is a known issue for your machine. Your model is subject to a replacement program for the logicboard due to a defective GPU. It lasts 3 years from the date of purchase.
I am in contact with apple and might take it into a retail store for further diagnostics. -
Multiple Kernel Panics after Mavericks Upgrade
I've been getting kernel panics (shut downs and restarts suddenly) weekly (haven't resolved this yet).
I upgraded my Macbook Pro mid 2010 15inch Snow leopard to OS X Mavericks
Ever since I upgraded to Mavericks OS X, I've been getting kernel panics every 5 minutes.
It's frustrating, stressful and affecting my studies!
Please help me.
I'm in the middle of my exam period so I can't go out and pay a visit to the Genius bar.
Can anyone help me or suggest what the underlying problem is?
I also want to know why I've been getting frequent kernel panics prior to upgrading to Mavericks as well.
Here's the panic log, if it helps!
Thanks!

Thunderbolt Bus:Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Safe Mode - About http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
Repair disk permissions:
Boot in recover mode (Boot - Command-R)
Run Disk Utility
Select your system drive (Macintosh HD).
Click on Repair Disk Permissions.
While you are there repair the disk as well:
Click on Repair Disk.
Restart.
If all else fails:
If Mavericks was installed on a system with an unhealthy filesystem it can crash often.
Backup your data and reinstall Mavericks.
From Kappy:
Re-download and reinstall Mavericks.
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Mavericks: Select Reinstall Mavericks and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
Kernel Panic 10.6.2 Unsolved Problem
I have been up and down search engines trying to figure out how to fix this problem I recently encountered on my iMac.
The problem happend as followed:
I have a 32gb partition on windows vista on my imacs hard drive. Windows wanted me to do an update as usual, and i did. When it was in the third and final stage of configuring the update, the computer froze and I had to restart the computer.
Once i turned on the mac, there was scattered "stuck" pixels all over the screen, some were flashing blue.
I tried to enter windows through the option key at start up but it just brings me to a black screen.
When i try to boot in OSX it loads for an abnormal amount of time then brings me to the multilingual error message. I restarted several times reaching the same error, with the same "stuck" pixels.
I retested the PRAM, heard the two chimes.
THis time, the "stuck" pixels were in a new pattern, vertical lines down the screen, about 8 across every 2 inches.
After resetting the PRAM it still brings me to the black screen in vista and kernel panic message in OSX.
Then...
I entered single user mode, and it found some errors using /sbin/fsck -fy
I ran the command a couple of times to ensure all errors were fixed and the "volume appears to be ok" appeared consistently.
I then used "shutdown -h now" and turned the mac back on.
The pixels were still on the screen and still brought me to the kernel panic screen, as well as the black screen in vista.
I gave up and left my imac off for about 5 hours.
I came back with new hope to try and fix the computer.
I removed all first party ram, two 1 gb sticks, then reinserted.
I turned on the mac and everything was fine.
For some reason the fans in the imac were on full power blowing really fast.
There was no more stuck pixels on the screen and it booted, very slowly, to OSX.
As soon as I entered I used the disk util and repaired permissions. There seemed to be many errors in the flash plugin folder. maybe about 30 of them.
I restarted the imac, and everything was fine, everything was back to normal speed.
Once the imac went into screen saver mode for about 15 min, the screen froze and the flurry screen saver looked distorted. I restarted the imac.
Once i restarted the imac the same "stuck pixels" were back.
I tried using all previous methods, all volumes appear ok in single user mode but I continue to receive the kernel panic message along with the pixels.
I can not start from the snow leopard dvd, because i get the kernel message.
I can not boot into safe mode, because of the kernel message.
I can not use a live linux CD because it takes me to a black screen.
Although I did notice one thing.
Once I use the /sbin/fsck -fy command follwed by the exit command, i receive a string of messages, checking the normal functions.
All appear ok but there is a message mentioning the NTFS partition log check not being clear, then it says unable to mount volume cant (read/write)
I am assuming the vista update somehow damaged something but i am unsure because I was able to boot normally into OSX twice after I received the symptoms the first time.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?
THank you for your time reading this very long postEXACTLY!
The same thing happened to me while in vista, in bootcamp.
I had just bought left for dead 2 and the game would suddenly freeze and loop audio constantly
I restarted the imac and it was fine.
I tried playing the game and the same thing happened.
So i figured it was some new windows update i didnt have.
So when vista was in the 3rd stage of configuring the update, the computer froze once more and once i restarted i began getting kernel panic issues.
When i was able to boot back into windows, after the kernel panic issues.
there were about 5 or 8 Big block of pixels, about 64x64, dancing around the screen flashing different colors. I brought me to the windows start up error screen where you choose to start in safe mode or not.
I selected start windows normally and then i received a blue screen of death...on a mac.
After that I have no longer been able to boot off of dvds, of any partitions.
I know it has to be issues with the graphics card, i dont believe its fried but maybe corrupt drivers. Is there some way to reinstall those drivers perhaps?
I called 2 local expert mac technicians and they are pointing to video card issues.
Which sounds true because the mac performs fine in VGA mode(single user mode, and apple hardware diagnostic tests)
The mac begins to boot OSX but i believe once it tries to load the video drivers it goes into a kernel panic.
Maybe we can solve this some how.
I will try to post the kernel panic logs. -
Kernel Panics in Mavericks - Can Someone Interpret EtreCheck Report?
I am having a lot of trouble with a MacBook Pro 2010. Ever since upgrading to Mavericks, the kernel panics have happened constantly, and it seems random. Nothing external is ever hooked up to the computer, other than headphones, and time machine over the network. I've tried deleting start up files from the library, plist stuff, re-set the PRAM, swapped out the physical RAM, checked the hard disk, etc. Everything I can think of, everything I can find on the internet. I think it must be some 3rd party software, but can't figure out what.
Does this EtreCheck report shed any light on this? I am so frustrated! I would really appreciate any help, thank you!

0 B Page-outsThank you Melophage! Wow, that's really interesting about the NVIDIA GPU, I remember this particular computer having video issues a year + back. We haven't experienced it lately, but that might make sense.
I also found the log from the last kernel panic, but I am totally clueless as to how to read it. Does this give more info about it possibly being software vs. hardware?

Frequent Kernel Panics (Using Mavericks)
I am experiencing frequent kernel panics after installing Mavericks and can't find the reason why.
It happens randomly and it is not tied to any application in particular.
One day it can happen during backup or when using mail, or safari, etc.
I am attaching the console report of the last crash and this time it happened when using tweebot.
I have a macbook pro from 2011 that the only custom thing it has is a Crucial M4 512 GB SSD.
Any help would be welcome.

Kernel panics, crashes, shutdowns, and video problems
Hey guys,
My girlfriend bought a black Macbook about 8 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago she started having the random shut-off problems, crash issues, etc that many have had. So then she took the system to the Genius Bar and they shipped it to Apple. She got the laptop back just 1 week ago after they replaced the logic board and the heat sink. Over the past two days she's having this problem again.
Here's a picture of it:
After talking to AppleCare for about an hour on Tuesday, they reset the Power Management Unit on her laptop again. They also did a Hardware Test and asked her to reformat and reinstall Tiger. The rep said that if the same problem as before was happening again, she'd be termed a "looper" (which my guess means that they'll do a replacement). It seemed to be working fine until earlier today.
It randomly shut off, or reboots. Other times it shuts off the screen and keeps running... screen goes black, but you can feel the HD spinning, etc. It also had a kernel panic which said "Unable to find driver for this platform: ACPI". Also there was a crash where it was a gray screen with some horizontal color bars. After running the hardware tests it found no problems. After running memtest for several hours I also got no errors. Then she called AppleCare and visited the Genius Bar again, and they said they cannot replace the machine and all they can do right now is send it back for repairs. She cannot wait that long again for another repair. Last time it took over a week and it didn't seem to fix whatever problems this MacBook is having.
Any ideas on what to do? Having a week-long downtime again on a brand-new computer is not acceptable.

MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.7) 2.0ghz, 512mb RAM, 80gb HD -
OK, let's just start with I'm an idiot !! I know very little and more than enough to be dangerous !!
The machine is a G4 QS 800 DP running Tiger 10.4.11, it had been working well until about 10 days / 2 weeks ago when problems started, about the same time the Firefox, 3.6.18 update came out and I installed it, the problems may have started BEFORE the FF update by a couple of hours, just not sure now.
I was surfing the net and was interrupted with frozen, darkened screen with a multi language message saying I needed to restart the computer, OK, did that, then about an hour later the same darker screen and message, Ok do it again, then again less than an hourlater again, then 45 mins., then 1/2 hr, then another 1/2 hr, then 20 mins., it continued like this for the next 5 to 7 hours, and 9 or 10 "crashes", all the time the same message, I never saw anything else on the screen for any kind of warning or kernel panic (don't know where they show up).
So the battery is 15 months old and tests good (bought a new one anyway, no change, same problems), did the PMU, several times, for sure wrong & to often, no help there, maybe one out of 100 times I could get it to stay on & get online for awhile by holding the command +S keys till the grey screen started, then release them, the rest of the time, it would begin to start up, 10 to15 seconds and die, ... getting very frustrated I tried the reset on the front, no change, then try the "programmers button" (I said I was dangerously smart) then combinations of PMU, reset, prog'mer buttons, Battery out PMU , battery in Pmu, everything disconnected each time, grounding myself each time, trying to not screw up, but knowing I must have many times, even tried a GOOD HDD that BDAqua checked & partitioned for me that is still blank (no OS yet) with install disc & holding C down, still no good action, for few try's I had both hdd's plugged in and got small icon's 1 & 2 for both hdd's while they were in & plugged in.
I talked with BDAqua on saturday, late, after hours, he had already waited for me, so as I described what I had done, HE said that the PMU should be held for 20 TO 25 seconds (or longer maybe in some cases, my impression of what I was hearing), and here is the BIG THING he said that gave me an idea to ask this question, BDAqua asked if I had / suggested I try, doing the PRAM RESET 5 TIMES IN A ROW, of course I had not, and haven't yet. I did do it a few times in all that I was trying, but never in a row, because 1 time never got a positive result, I didb't think of multiple resets (I'm not all that smart, just dangerous). but from our talk, I think I understand it to mean, It may take many ( or multiples of 5 ?) to clear out (flush out the evil demons from the kernels ???) .......
SO MY QUESTION IS THIS; WHAT ARE THE MAGIC KEYBOARD STEPS / KEY COMBO'S, AND / OR PMU, OR RESET BUTTON, OR PROGRAMMER BUTTON SEQUENCES TO FOLLOW, BEFORE I GIVE UP AND CHANGE THE MOBO, CPU'S, OR WHATEVER, TO TRY AND SALVAGE MY G4 QS ???
ARE THERE MULTIPLES 5 (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 PMU RESETS TO CURE CERTAIN problems, like magic combinations ???)
....... any tricks of the trade that I can try, I have only had this machine for15 months and really like it and want cure it's troubles and WHAT EVER I DID TO IT THAT WAS WRONG !!!, it's a self esteem thing at this point, I can let it beat me because I hurt it, I must make it good to sve my own feelings, even though I did wrong, I must make ammends !!!

Avoid unnecessarily resetting the SMC or PMU for troubleshooting purposes
Note: There is NO magic time required to clear the PMU. A firm, complete push is all that is required.
The PMU reset button is a momentary contact switch because the reset only requires momentary contact.
Another myth is that more than 2 chimes during a PRAM reset resets better.
A reset is a reset.
If you need more than is done in a PRAM reset after 2 chimes, use the NVRAM reset in Open Firmware.

Disk Operating System
That would be "DOS like" as in like the screen that you use in booting a Windows machine.
It's the black with white text screen that you get when you boot to Open Firmware (CMD+OPT+O+F)

Kernel Panics, OS X exits, Sleep problems
After reading through ALOT of the posts here it seems that many of us are experiencing alot of the same problems. Unfortunately I seem to have had a lot of them together. My MBP is currently back the second time for repairs and is "waiting on parts". Apparently the motherboard is being replaced this time. I am very suspicious that this may all be tied to the airport wireless since thats always up and running and connected to my Linksys AP. This should be interesting when I finally get it back.
Problems include:
Several Kernel Panics a day
MBP not "automatically" going into sleep mode
When set to "automatically" go into sleep after a period of time, and approximately an hour passes, the MBP cannot be woken up...I don't believe its' really sleeping but the screen is blank, BUT the light is not strobing on the front indicating true sleep mode.
Shorter than expected battery life even though the battery is not on the recall list. (based on serial #).
This is my first experience with a Mac and I have to say I am a bit surprised at the type of issues I am having since Apple seems to tout the stability of their Macs.
Thoughts anyone??
MBP 15 inch Mac OS X (10.4.7) 2GB 3rd party RAMIf you are getting several kernel panics a day, the machine or something about it is broken.
You can probably just call apple and get them to fix it, but there are a few troubleshooting steps you might want to take.
First off, disconnect any external FW or USB periphs, and take out any RAM that you may have added after market. See if it still dies.
You will probably want to try a system software re-install, because Apple will, and if you have tried it first, they will not waste the time. Further, a bad install can cause problems like this. Since that does take a few hours, though, you might want to see if the problems happen using just apple apps, and using just apple apps in a plain user account created from scratch. If they do, then you should try a system software re-install. Do an archive install, and do not move any of your old pref panes and startup software over just yet.
Assuming it still dies, then you are ready to call Apple and get them to fix it. MBPs should not crash several times a day with a kernel panic. I have run one of my machines for months without a CP. Another one does have this problem, and it is going to go in to AppleCare as soon as I can spare it for a few days.

Macbook Pro received kernel panic from Mavericks update and will not turn on
Hi, I have a 2011 MBP and have had kernel panics since updating to Mavericks. Even in safe mode the computer just teuns on shows the kernel panic and then auto restarts and does this about three times before it shuts off completely. I have been informed the some of the hardware is not capable of running this software but even so I cannot even put MBP back to Mountain Lion. If anyone is having similar issue please let me know and any help would be great.
Take it in for a service diagnostic so you can determine if it's worth fixing or if you should buy a new one.

Kernel panics, plus some other bizarro problem
Hi
So I've been getting kernel panics for a while with my mac pro duo core job, so I went to the mac genius, who did a little trouble shooting, and resolved that it had something to do with the hard drive. So I got a new hard drive, reinstalled OSX, and got kernel panics.
I ran the hardware checker thru a few cycles, but that came up fine. Not sure what else to do really. Is there some way to tell what the problem is by looking at the panic log? Should I post it here?
Also, the bizarro problem. Now the mac, for some reason, will stop sending signal to the monitor and, as far as i can tell, the keyboard. I noticed this when I was importing something into avid (my editing software), and my screen went from bright with color and pictures, to off (deep, empty blackness and a "no signal" report on the screen). Also, the dongle which I use to run Avid has a light on when it is plugged in. That went from on to off as well. However the pilot light was still glowing on the mac, and the external drive was still writing what I was importing (it was humming along).
Does anyone have any idea a direction I should go in here to fix this issue?
Thanks for any input! Here's the most used site for Resolving Kernel Panics. Please do all the steps in order, even if you don't think you need to do a certain step.
Here is a great MacFixIt article.
Good Luck! DALE

Recurring kernel panics. What is the problem?
I get recurring kernel panics and am not sure how to solve this issue. My MacBook Pro is just a few months old. It is running 10.7.5 Lion; I am unable to install the firmware update 2.9 or the supplemental update 10.7.5. The panic happens when I open my laptop back up from sleeping. It doesn't happen all the time but has happened about 6 times in the last month. I have tried resetting the PRAM.

For the Firmware Update 2.9, I get this error when I try to unpack the update:
"Alert
