KERNEL PANICS OVER AND OVER CRASH
my last report 06/16. i had two panics 30mins apart. i get them sometimes weeks apart or up too two+ in same day. got my macbook in 2007 model came out new and in 2009 my system crashed white screen saying it could not find my had drive disk and i lost everything. I reinstalled the CD mac os X myself and i fear that not happen again because my mac is still brand new 2007 and i keep it clean so i dont how in 2009 i lost my whole drive. i have a fan for my mac's heat temp.
PS: i almost had to retype everything because stupid safari server could not find url server for this page. I WAS ABOUT TO BE MORE ANGREY but it had a recover for this topic. i only had this 2007 graduation gift first mac ever and i have so many problems i rather go back to windows and deal with the viruses.

My macbook from 2008 which I bought used worked fine for 3 weeks and then suddenly it started restarting and now it restarts, goes to grey apple screen and a code saying something about a kernel panic appears and it restarts again and again. Help?
Restart the computer and immediately hold the Option key down.
Select the Recovery partition and continue.
On the next pane, select Disk Utility and continue.
When DU opens, select your hard drive in the left column, click the First Aid tab, the click Repair Disk.
When that is done, quit DU and restart in the usual way. -
Ipad3 showing kernel panic messages and ios is crashing down frequently.
I am using ipad3. My ios is crushing down frequently since upgraded to ios 7.04. For the couple of occasions I saw kernel panic messages. I have restored iOS plenty of times but still facing the problem. This issue makes it impossible to use this device now. I am really fade up. I am seeking sincere and Cordial help of the technical bosses !

Kernel Panics over hard drive check
This happened out of nowhere.. I just opened gtk-chtheme and everything freezed... I hen hard rebooted the machine and it gave me a kernel panic. Rebooted again and the kernel panic happened during UDEV loading. Rebooted again and now it always happens during SDC1 journal's recovery (my /home partition).
I live-booted partition magic but when trying to mount sdc1--kernel panic....
Tried to mount it on windows "Drive is not formated" (all other Linux partitions work)
Booted from the arch cd (with root=/dev/sdb2 (my root partition)) and it gave me, not a kernel panic, but an error message about the state of the journaling system and the option to either use a maintenance shell or CTRL+D to reboot.
How do I recover this HD? Or better yet.. how do I backup my data from it?What is the filesystem you use on that partition (sdc1)?

Having Kernel Panic issues and need help
So about 6 months ago I had a HD crash, I restored it through disk utility and reloaded from my last time machine backup. Ever since then my computer would turn off randomly and I didn't know why, looked into it a bit more and thought the HD was bad so replaced it with a 500Gb SSD. When I got that I used a HD clone to copy the drive over and the problem still continued. I noticed it was when I would try and do something that might be a little taxing on the system like open a big program or stream something with other things open. All things that might stress the system, but nothing out of the ordinary and never had an issue for the years I had the computer before the crash. I looked into the issue more and have tried to trouble shoot the issue and this is what I have done/found thus far.
~Replaced HD to a SSD HD with no improvement
~Put new SSD in a totally different MCB and the issues still stand
~Reloaded Mavericks on the HD and it is still happening (Had an issue when trying to erase the HD in recovery, Disk Utility said it could unmount the disk when I clicked the drive, but if I clicked that name of the drive indented under neath it worked)
I have included my latest panic log in hopes for some help. The new MacBook Pro that I put my HD in I got second hand and said they were having some issues with it, but it only happened when they upgraded to Yosemite. There was nothing wrong with it previous, so I think I eliminated the possibility of it being a Hardware issue, but not 100% on that. Thanks for the help, Chris

I pulled the SSD out and put it into an external enclosure and was able to fully erase the drive through disk utility. From there I used the bootable disk that came with the computer which put snow leopard on. From there I upgrade through the app store to Mavericks, I used the computer all night with no issues or reboots at all, was finally able to run a Hardware diagnostic with nothing showing up there after the extended test. I am now running Mavericks and am transferring data off my external, but only the essentials such as music and pictures with fresh installs of all applications. Everything was going great... until about 5 min ago. As I was transferring about 250Gb of music I opened a browser and had a kernel panic shutdown. I have included the log, hoping it was just a fluke thing, but don't have any faith at this point

Random Kernel Panic Restarts and Session Logouts
Since installed Yosemite and its first update 10.10.1, I am experiencing random kernel panics and subsequent restarts.
Also I'm having random session logouts, nut that happens less frequently.
I'm running an late 2012 iMac, Intel Core i7 3,1 GHz, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB, 1TB Fusion Drive.
I had a problem in the hard drive, but Apple Geniuses solved it and performed a fresh Yosemite install.
Over that install, I restored a Time Machine backup.
All and all, the issue still continues.
Last panic report is this one:

Any help will be appreciated.First of all, thanks for your help Eric.
I did uninstalled both drivers and so far (30') there has been no issue.
Of course, since those kernel panics are random, I wouldn't know if they are already solved.
Maybe I should wait a significant amount of time to be sure.
Anyway, all points to the VCP driver to be the culprit.
Thing is that I will need the driver installed again at some point to run a Z-Wave USB stick, that controls my home automation.
The driver version is the latest Silicon Labs made available, which is pre-Yosemite.
Also, they say they are upgrading the driver (which reinforces the theory of it being the faulty), but have no release date yet.
Any suggestions in the meantime? -
Kernel Panic - my MacBook keeps crashing
Hi, all:
I have been getting frequent (2-3 times a day) kernel panics. I'm relatively new to Macs; switched about a year ago... this reminds me of the dark side's dreaded Blue Screen of Death.
Here's what was on the most recent report. I note that SmithMicro's NetBlockade is listed in there, and I've figured out that the stuff at the end is all descriptive of my computer. Oh, and I do have Windows XP installed under Parallels.
If anyone can shed some light as to what I should try next, I'd be grateful.

First Kernel Panic ever - and dont't know why...
Hello NG, Monday evening I encountered my first kernel panic. My wife was uploading some pictures to order copies made and suddenly: "You have to restart... etc.". I posted the logfile below. Does anybody know the reason for this crash ? The process responsible for the crash seems to be this one:
BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task
And the complete logfile:

com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily 1.4I don't see any obvious causes in your crash log so my guess is it's hardware. The most common item is RAM which could be:
1. Incorrect RAM (did you upgrade recently?)
2. Failed RAM, yes it does fail!
3. Unseated RAM, remove it and reseat firmly.
To test for RAM I'd recommend downloading Rember from:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15837/rember

[SOLVED] Kernel 4.0 and up crashes using intel gfx on Core-M Broadwell
Fortunately I was able to resolve this after 2 months of frustration, but I thought I would post the problem and solution for others.
After the update to kernel 4.0 (and at least until 4.0.5) my Intel Core-M Broadwell processor (in a Lenovo Yoga Pro 3) would crash a few seconds after launching of any graphical environment, either Wayland or X. The errors as shown in journalctl point to a kernel crash in the intel graphics module:

After chatting with a person in #intel-gfx on freenode IRC I was told this is a side effect from the enabling of a new command structure for kernel 4 and higher.
To fix you need to add the following to your kernel line in grub|rEFInd|gummiboot:
i915.enable_execlists=0
The developer suggested they will disable this option in future kernels, but I don't have a bug to track this with so it will be trial and error moving forward.Add a note at the bottom on the Intel page: that seems the logical place.

Recieving "Kernel Panic" notification and I don't have my OS CD anymore
I am recieving a Kernel Panic notification Error Code: 0x00000010 every time I start the computer - I read that reinstalling the os would fix the issue, however I got my MacBook in '08 and have since lost the operating system. Any ideas?
Kernel panics are usually hardware related so I don't know where you read that reinstalling the OS is a definite fix. Bad ram is a typical issue. Read: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1392
If you lost your OS installer DVD then get a new one. Contact AppleCare and request a new DVD. You need that for repairing the hard drive and reinstalling your OS. Keep it in a safe place next time. -
Kernel Panic Log and Surrounding Circumstances
Hello everyone,
I'm receiving semi-frequent kernel panics while using my MacBook Air (Mid 2011) 11' model. I've gone so far as to reformat the computer and update it, yet I received the error again last night. Since then, I've tried the PRAM reset, and not yet experienced a kernel panic, but I'm still unsure whether or not the issue has been resolved. Generally speaking, these errors pop up while I'm on facebook or something similar. I don't really use the computer for any serious purposes (mostly just web browsing), and during these times are when the errors pop up. All help regarding this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time! Without further ado, here is the error log:

Kernel Panic, Same and Continuous
Greetings. After the recent 10.5.3 I too have been hit with a kernel panic. I'm able to boot in safe mode, and my second drive, which I have not updated, operates normally. Using Techtool and Disk Utility, along with other recommended checks, I'm fairly certain it isn't hardware related, but not 100% sure, none of the tests picked up RAM or Memory problems, but again, I might not be looking at them correctly. I'm trying to translate the error report but can't really put it together, any help for a solution is appriciated.

Message was edited by: Andrew876Thanks for the welcome, and I do have an update.
Following some other advice I downloaded the combo updater from the apple site and reinstalled 10.3.5 and the kernel panic dissappeared, but I'm worried now it might pop up again, so I want to make sure I'm not holding onto items that would cause an error.
In Safe Mode, your correct, I get no kernel panics, and I agree it was something odd in the 3rd party. It may still be there waiting to pop up again, so to answer your questions.
In Startupitems: empty.
myusername/library/lauchagents: empty
login items under accounts are ItunesHelper and Logitech Control Center for my keyboard and mouse.
system/library/launchagents and deamons is quite full of items.
In launchangents almost all are com.apple items, only 5 are not:
CoreMIDIServer.plist
org.openbsd.ssh-agent.plist
edu.mit.Kerberos.KerberosAgent.plist
edu.mit.Kerberos.CCacheServer.plist
org.x.X11.plist
Unsure what they are. In daemons the non com.apple items are:
bootps.plist
comsat.plist
tftp.plist
eppc.plist
exec.plist
finger.plist
ftp.plist
login.plist
nmbd.plist
ntalk.plist

Kernel panics: AGPM and iokit
Hi all,
Getting LOTS of kernel panics the past several weeks. In the error report backtrace, every one has the following in common:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.driver.AGPM(100.9.3)@0xcf5000->0xcfcfff
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.0)@0x963000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6)@0x952000
Not sure if that's enough to go on, but I don't know what to make of it. I did search for AGPM and iokit, but the results turn up lots of posts with full dumps that include them. Those are the only two specifically appearing in mine.
Disclosure: I have a 5,1 MBP (2.53), and I have added the OWC 6GB memory kit. But I've had that for some time, and the kernel panics started only recently.
Hoping someone has some insight, and if so, thanks very much..!I've been having a problem for few months now involving the same kernel extension, "IOPCIFamily.kext". There's a post by a guy named "tektite" on this thread that might be useful to you:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11219882
Hope it helps. -
Kernel panic: MacOS and Installation disk don't boot - WinXP works
I've the following problem:
I can't boot MacOS anymore. I tried all boot options and the hardware test shows no issues. Every time I try to boot MacOS i get a kernel panic.
The strange thing is that I even can't boot the installation disc as I also get a kernel panic there.
The only thing that works is booting Windows XP with bootcamp. So for me it seems not to be a hardware issue if Windows XP is booting and everything there works fine.
All my data is backuped, so a new installation would be fine to me. But how? Any help is appreciated...
iMac 20" Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8) 2GB RAM, 500GB harddisk, 256MB graphicSince booting off the installation disc doesn't work, it suggests a hardware problem that Mac OS X is more sensitive to. RAM is the most likely culprit, though any peripherals that are attached to the machine that the installation disc doesn't recognize as having the proper drivers may also be a problem. RAM can cause problems for Mac OS X when not to spec, or having a random bit error, which XP might not see unless doing a very intensive operation that runs into that same bit. Try replacing the RAM with high quality RAM from http://www.crucial.com/ that meets the specs of your machine on http://www.info.apple.com/support/applespec.html
