The last ones we installed were kernel part i and part ii (for basis 640) Q3 2008.

--> SAP KERNEL 6.40 64-BIT

Download here the latest available SAPEXE*.SAR (SAPEXE_347-20000200.SAR)
choose your database, download the latest SAPEXEDB*.SAR (don't know your database so I can't give you a filename).
This would update your kernel to patchlevel 347. If you want to use the very latest kernel go back to "#Database independent" and download all the files with a creation date later than SAPEXE_347*.SAR.
Unpack first the stack files (SAPEXE.SAR, SAPEXEDB.SAR), then all the single files.
If you use Oracle make sure you also download the BR*tools (DBATOOLS in the Oracle subfolder).

  • Kernel upgrade - 640 patch level 247 - subsequent patches needed

    Hi community,
I recently upgraded the kernel of our system SAP ECC 5.0 to kernel release 640 patch level 247
I used the the two files EXE and EXEDB as I usually do in this cases.
Unfortunately this kernel is affected with the problem described in note 1239685, which is critical for us.
To solve the problem SAP recommends upgrading kernel to patch level 252, which is not present in my files, but is present in the single disp+work package, which is level 273
What is the correct procedure in this case? I have to unpack only the disp+work package or all the archives listed in the download place?
    Regards,
    Valerio

    Dear Valerio,
The packages SAPEXE.SAR and SAPEXEDB.SAR contain a complete set of database independent (SAPEXE.SAR) and database dependent (SAPEXEDB.SAR) executables. A kernel patch is delivered as a dw.SAR package. It is sufficient to extract the content of the dw.SAR into DIR_EXECUTABLE (normally /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run for a 6.xx system on UNIX). Of course, this should be done while the system is down.
    Best Regards,
    Tim

  • MS patch KB912945 / KB912812 ActiveX patch won't load 1.4.x pages

    http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B912812&x=11&y=12
ActiveX controls that use Java Platform, Standard Edition 1.3, or 1.4After you click on an ActiveX applet control in a program that runs the applet control by using Java Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) 1.3, or J2SE 1.4, the focus does not go to the applet control. You must click the control a second time to establish focus. The focus behavior works correctly in J2SE 1.5. To obtain the latest version of J2SE, visit the following Sun Microsystems, Inc. Web site:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se
I'm NOT facing issues with an intranetsite that uses 1.5.0_06 if it's the only installed JRE, but if 1.4.x is installed (disabled secure static versioning ssv.dll) it will not disable a graph. Also with just 1.4.x installed it's the same problem by the way.
When removing the MS patch everything worked okay. Strangely enough, as described clicking or doubleclicking didn't do a thing. No time out or other message in the console as well.
I'm getting into contact with MS but was wondering if others are facing any issues with this pathc?

    All,
I thought it may be related to spaces in the path in which the script was called from. I tried having the ODBC command script in another directory but the same thing happens. It will give me the "CONFIGSYSDSN: Unable to create a data source for the 'Oracle in OraClient10g_home1' driver: Could not load the setup or translator library with error code -2147467259". As soon as the script is done running I can manually double click the script and it adds the DSN fine.

  • Kernel Upgrade Release 640 Patch 175

    Dear Basis Gurus,
We are planning to upgrade SAP Kernel for Release 640 and Patch 109.
We have referred oss note Note 1027100 - CST Patch Collection 08 2007 and this note suggest to go for patch level :
    4.6D:  2307
    6.40:   171
    7.00:    98
I have checked the service market place and I didn't find the Patch Level 171. Instead I foud Patch level 175.
    1) Can you please let me know if since Patch Level 171 is not the latest, can I got for Patch level 175 ?
    2) Can you also please let me know which files I need to download other than SAPEXE_175-10004469.SAR and SAPEXEDB_175-10004468.SAR ?
Should I need to download dw_193-10004469.sar and R3trans_192-10004469.SAR and tp_193-10004469.sar ? If you see this has the patch level 193 and for R3trans it is 192 ?
How to decide for Patch Level 175, which other files can go ?
Do we really need to replace other files like R3trans, tp ? or only those in SAPEX*.SAR ?
    3) What would be the correct approach ? I am planning to replace kernel 1st in Development system, then Consoldiation system and then Test system and then finally Production system ? is this correct approach ?
Any prompt help on this will be highly appreciated ?
    Thanks
    Best Regards

  • How to create a custom kernel with initrd and ARCH patches

    Hi,
I like the default kernel because everything seems to work well and I think the Arch kernel includes patches I need (such as the mactel patch). But some options that i would like to be enabled are not. in fact i would like to use powertop but i can't because it needs the CONFIG_TIMER_STATS option.
What I would like is a kernel based on the arch kernel but with a different config file. Nothing more.
if i look at the solution on the Wiki, I see that I have to add all patches the standard kernel have ... Moreover there is no initrd creation. i think i will need it if I use the Arch kernel configuration.
And if i use the kernel26 PKGBUILD, I must change the package name in order to keep my current kernel. It's easy to do in the PKGBUILD but much more complicated to do it in the kernel26.install file beacuse I have to change the filenames in /boot and I do not want to replace the kernel26 files.
So do you have any ideas how to compile my custom kernel ? Is there a better solution ?
    Thanks.
    Mildred.

tomk wrote:It's possible I'm missing something here, but I don't understand what you're worried about. If I understand correctly, you now have a PKGBUILD and associated files for kernel26mildred (or whatever you've decided to call it). Why do you think you would have to change the files again when kernel26 is updated?
don't the patches change from version to version?
anyways, i was bored so i wrote a little script... edit the configuration variables at the top and it'll do the work for you. just put it in /var/abs/kernels or wherever you have the kernel26/ at, chmod +x scriptname, and run.
if you're in /var/abs/kernels you'll probably have to run as root.
from my testing, it seems to be all working (looking at resulting files and no errors so far from makepkg); but i'm still building my test kernel with it.

  • Kernel panic with ipf and patch 125014-02?

    Hi,
After bringing a bunch of Sparc servers running Solaris 10 up to current patch level I've been experiencing strange and unstable behavior. All servers are running with an ipfilter configuration.
One server has been freezing on the network interface at least once every day without any syslog notice. A reboot is the only way up again.
Now today one server (a Internet proxy server) did a kernel panic twice - never seen that before on this server.
It seems like it was caused by the kernel module ipf. And since it has never happend before I guess it could be caused by the IP filter patch 125014-02.
Anyone experiencing something similar and am I on the right track with suspecting this patch to be bad?
    Thanks
    Kasper

me too - I'm still waiting for a patch:
Case# 65340046 - panic due to IPF firewall
    From: Fletcher Cocquyt
    To: <[email protected]>
    Date: Feb 12 2007 - 10:09am
We had another panic & reboot, so we will be forced to disable IPF firewall
(is svcadm disable sufficient, or do I need to do more to prevent the
    panics?)
How can I be notified when there is a proper Sun patch to fix this?
    thanks

    Is it IPF firewall related?
Will disabling ipf (until there is a fix) avoid this bug ?

    Fletcher,
This system panic'd due to bug 6490522: S10 System panic bad mutex in
ipf:fr_derefrule. Unfortunately at this time we do not have an offical fix
    for
this bug, however we do have a test binary built. Please let me know if you
would like to test this binary on this system.
    Thanks.

  • SAPGUI 640 patch 19, BEX SAP BW 3.x, , Netweaver04 - No variable selection

The above in subject line is installed. Checked the installation w/sapbexc.xla, no major issues, all components were selected during frontend install. When the BEX Browser is launched I connect to BW and I select a report a Visual Basic error "Run-time error '91' Object variable or With block variable not set" occurs. Excel is opened but the expected variable selection screen does not appear. In addition to the above the BW addon patches 8 and 9 are installed and a couple of entries made into the PC registry per note 542961. SAPGUI works well for everything else as far as I can tell. What have I missed to make this work? prkctybum

    Lou,
Please help me with this issue. We have the same similar issue you had. We can do the Global Settings going to the individual users but we are not able to push the resolution to every machine in the company, please see the note below. If you could send the resolution showing how you were able to push the code to every machine. You can mail me to [email protected].
I’ve attempted to use .NET 2’s storeadm /LIST command to pull the BEXAddin info from the IsolatedStorage Assembly where it keeps a record of the bexaddin.dll information. However the record it keeps is of no help. The file path:
    C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\IsolatedStorage\x1smiiqw.qws\p1vq0mkf.2u2\Url.fc1l2xts4acc5iv3nxl2uoy0btkfeen5\AssemFiles\BExAddin.xml
…is not kept here, or anywhere else that I can find. I’m going to have to do this the hard way and build something to check if IsolatedStorage exists, if so, query the folder structure, and check to see if the BEXADDIN.XML has been built, if it has, rewrite the legacy option. If it doesn’t exist, that’s the BIG issue, we’ll have to initiate Excel to run the BExAnalyzer that way it generates the IsolatedStorage and then repeat the above. The problem is that running Excel without the customer realizing that I’m running it is kinda tricky, what’s worse is that this would have to run for every user on a machine, and that’s impossible to do without everyone’s password, so essentially, this would only work for the logged on user, or what USD perceives as the logged on user, and since USD runs under the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account that’s what it will see as the current user. So, long story short, I don’t think I can automate a fix for this.
So, while I could query every existing users folder structure within IsolateStorage, I cannot guarantee that they’ve run BEX once to generate the folder structure for themselves in order for me to patch it. We could force BEX open after pushing SAP, but again, it would open for the SYSTEM account, not a “real” user. The only way to automate is to get the customer involved and have them run BEX one time, but how would we know to then push the fix…
    Kiran
