Please open Server Manager > Roles > see if Web Server (IIS) has been installed.
If installed, I’d recommend you refer to Abdel’s method in the link below. He encountered the same issue when install SharePoint 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and fixed the problem. For your reference:

Running mail server on Worker Role

I'm trying to use a Worker role to setup an SMTP server. I used Visual Studio to provision the worker role, assigned a ReservedIP address to it, setup ReverseDNS, and specified an inputendpoint for SMTP on port 25.
Question, when you specify an InputEndpoint, does it poke a hole in the firewall of the VM? Or does it assign that to the WorkerRole application? I wanted to use a Web Service instead of a regular VM to install an SMTP server, but I'm not having any
luck. I installed SmarterMail on the Worker Role service and cannot get port 25 to respond for Smartermail. It sends mail just fine, but is blocked for inbound SMTP.
Any ideas?

Yes, Input Endpoints enable External Traffic to be load balanced to your Web/Worker Role VM through the Firewall.

Is it possible to do Continuous deployment for azure cloud services(website,web and worker roles) using VSO Release management?

I am trying to do continuous deployment using visual studio online and release management for Azure cloud services. But not able to find the way to do it(with the help of different blogs, those are describing using VM only).
I tried using Release management visual studio extension also. But no Luck.

Inserting images in forum message?

Hi,
Is it possible to insert attached images inline in the forum messages (similar to what you can do in the wiki pages)
We in our organization are using forum which comes with portal.

Hi Amit,
its not possible to insert images in forum text, but you can attach images,docs to the forum message. To change attached files size,number of attachments and type you should have forum administrator role.
Forums come with portal are jive forums , you can check administration guides on jive forums in Google.

Forum admin and forum user

I have both roles assigned: Forum Admin and Forum User.
Q1. What is the use of this application: Change Admin User? Why everytime I have to set it to my current logged in user? Otherwise I always get No permissions.
Q2. I created a new forum "TEST". But in Forum user role, I just get blank page. What could be the reason.

We had the very same problem.
After the deployment via SDM the iview template was there, but the iview template had a missing parameter: Forum View Target.
Everything was fine, exept the page for the view was empty.
We redeployed the KMC-UI (from the installing doc) and then restarted the portal.
=> all 3 parameters in the iview templates were available
=> Forums view did work fine

ADFS and SharePoint Integration: How to use ADFS Roles?

I've successfully integrated SharePoint with ADFS2 and users can login by ADFS. One of the claims mapping in ADFS and SharePoint is SAM-Account-Name->Windows account name.
Is there any guideline how to grant a permission to an specific role? For example I want to grand read access to an specific list to a specific AD group called "ListReaders"

Installing SharePoint 2013 in a Windows 2012 R2 Server I was getting the following error

From your description, I know you get error when you install SharePoint 2013 in Windows Server 2012 R2.
If you have tried all method above. In your case, you have installed the Web Server(IIS), but the
Web Server (IIS) role installation may fail. You could try run commande: aspnet_regii -enable –i.

Mapping multiple Siebel BC's to a single OPA entity

My colleague referred me to this forum, so glad to know there's support for such niched technology.
Wondering if anyone has tried mapping multiple BC's to the same OPA entity using IO? This is not possible via BO Mapping due to user-key constraint on Entity Name. However, thought this may be achievable w/ IO Mapping by defining IO Component user property.
The goal is to create multiple instances of an OPA entity based on different Siebel components. Initial attempts resulted in the last IC processed overwriting previous entity instances collected. Not sure if I missed additional development steps but wanted to verify w/ everyone before seeking alternative solution.

Hi Kevin, welcome to the forums.
With IO mappings you can map different Integration Components (ICs) into the same OPA entity under certain conditions.
The most typcial case of this is when you want to map the attributes of a child (ic) into the same entity that its parent is mapped to. The most important thing here is that there must be only one child otherwise it will not be clear which child to use to populate the attributes.
You can do this by specifying the following User Properities on the Integration Component that you want to merge with its parent
name: OPAEntity value: the OPA Entity that the Integration component should be mapped to
name: OPAParent value: the OPA Entity that will by the parent of the above property. If the entity specified in "OPA Entity" is global this property is not necessary

Example
We have a mapping for the Employee Business object as an IO mapping (I'll use the "Employee Interface" IO). This Integration object has a subcomponent "Personal Address". We want to map both the Employee and Personal Address components to the global entity.
Because Employee is the top level component of the IO, it will be mapped to global by default.
To map Personal Address component to attributes int the global enity, I only need to set the User Property "OPAEntity" to "global". Attributes will be mapped automatically if name matches can be found, otherwise I can specify the attributes using the OPAAttribute property.
Note: this only works when there is one (or none) Personal Addresses for the Employee, if an attempt to load an employee with more than one Personal Address is made, the attributes of Personal Address is unknown.

Remove Templates from Create Incident From Template Selection

Originally all users had access to all of the templates created, however now that we have been using SCSM for a while the number of templates created has started to grow and make the Create Incident From Template Screen difficult to navigate. I am
trying to limit the number of templates each team sees based on security group, however when I uncheck the templates from the Form Templates section of the User Role, they continue to display for all users. Is there somewhere else I have to go in and
change this that I am missing?

T41 Freezing-

Hello Folks,
I hope some of you having good technical knowledge on Thinkpads and can help me in resolving my T41 Freezing problem.
T41-2372 model started giving me some problem few days back.
It just don't boot up or don't shows anything on the screen when powered on.
I tried removing Battery, DVD Rom, HDD as well still no luck. It works fine some times if you try 4/5 time power ON / OFF that too if you are lucky and the Laptop should be lyint still, if you move it a bit its screen freezes and had to hard boot.
it's not HDD for sure I know as I said , even after removing HDD its not working.
Before freezing screen shakes like bar grafh of earth quake and its gone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds as though, regretably , you are suffering from the T4* flexing / loose GPU syndrome. Have a look in TPF's T4x Series board, especially the sticky "t42 shuts down when I move it".

SDK 3,0 activation code - No Complaints Department

I have purchased a new Macbook last week. Until now I have always used a PC and with a great deal of expectations from the product and customer service I decided to move to Apple.
Having purchased MacBook, I purchased SDK 3.0. Having made the payment the site told me that it would take 24 hours to receive an activation code by email. It has been six days until now and I have not received anything. I emailed the Developer Support, spoke to them as well. All they have to say is some is looking into it and the problem will be sorted. Every time they promise to call me back with an update but have not done so even one. I need to keep reminding them of my problem every single day and end up getting the same reply from the "Someone is looking into it".
I asked if I could the number for the complaints department. In return they told me, they do not have an external number for complaints department. He will however pass the message onto his internal complaints department.
I always thought that Apple's customer service was regarded as one of the best in the world and they will try and help you as quickly as they can. Unfortunately, I am having no luck whatsoever in sorting out my problem which I believe is very simple.
Please can someone advise me on this.

iPhone SDK 3.0 is still in beta - and there is no fee that I know of...also no activation code.
You must be a registered developer to download and use the SDK, but there is no fee for that. There is a fee for developers that want to use the App Store.

What is an Upgrade project mean?
As we are going to upgrade from 3.5 to 7 version,,But I dont know anyhting of this upgrade and how to do also.Is there any fixed process for doing this.
Can anyone tell me what are the procedures involved in the Upgrade and what type of work will they expect from us technically as a BW consultant.
