Kewl Feature (difference) Discovered in Win 10

I had several such links as per the example below.  Someone how they could be played & saved as MP4s and had mentioned several browsers but, not IE.  Said if they used IE they got Quick Time Player window. I said, "Oh these will
just start playing in IE & then Rt Clk & save as...".  To which, I'm told, Oh no, IE needs plug-ins & will just playing something like WMP & no way to save natively.  Well, obviously the two do not gibe.
So, I went to 8.1  I had, ever, not had occasion previously to do this in 8.1   Sure enough, hit the link, starts playing via WMP & of course, there is not Rt Clk > Save as...
Anyway, seems a kewl Feature & difference exists that I had not yet known.  I'm sure I'm late to the game and y'll are aware of this, already.  5 months of using Win10 had no occasion to discover this one, until now.
But, yes, natively, it does not avail this in 8.1   Windows 10 it can be done and just that quickly & easily.  You are welcome to try it if you like & see the nice difference for yourselves.
Hit the link, Rt Clk where it is playing & Save as... & the MP4 is put in Videos folder.  No strings attached, no add-ons, no plug-ins, just slick & native.  Then take the link & try the same thing in 8.1 (or earlier).

Yes, very disappointing not having a search function! Now, when I use Radio in Itunes, select News Talk Radio, I get an overwhelming list of what looks like 200 stations! I used to type in 55 for the text string of my station 550 wkrs and I'd immediately be at the right station. No more! Now I have to scroll through hundreds of stations searching for the right station. NOT an improvement! Please re-instate the search feature!

What are the feature differences between Photoshop Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements?
Do I need both programs since it appears that Photoshop Elements is embedded into Premiere Elements?

Is the date of purchase for Photoshop Elements 12 that you had initially within 30 days of today? And, did you purchase that from Adobe online. If so, you should be able to use the link below to start your contact with Adobe via Adobe Chat regarding a money back.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=orders-refunds-and-exc hanges
After you click on the link above, click on the statement "I still need help." to bring up the Adobe Chat so that you can work out the details related to orders/refunds/exchanges.
The important matter right now is that you act promptly in sorting this matter out so that you do not lose your rights in this regard.
If your purchase was other than what is suggested above, Adobe Chat should be able to advise you of the next step with regard to the vendor from whom you did purchase the software.
What exactly do you need in a program, photo editing, video editing, or both?
    Thanks.

  • Features Difference between 6i and 11gr2 (forms/reports)..

    Hi all,
I just upgraded my old style menu-driven application from forms/reports 6i to 11gr2 and don't add features of 11gr2
still now. So, Its look like old one (6i).
So, please guide me what features should I add (like look-wise, working-wise, performance-wise etc.),
so that my application look like latest technology.
    Thanks and Regards.
    Bhatt.

The biggest difference between Forms 6i and Forms 11g is: 1) the ability to use features of the 11g database, 2) use Java Beans in your form to extend/enhance the functionaly and look-n-feel, 3) import Java directly into your form and interact with the Java through PL/SQL, 4) and most importantly, it is the current supported version of Forms. These are just the highlights. There are other differences.
In all honesty, what features you use should be driven by the needs of your customer. If your customer needs the application to use the response from a web service, then I would look at implementing a Java Bean in your app to support this customer driven need. I wouldn't recommend adding features just for the sake of adding features if they don't provide direct benefit to your customer. Just my opinion. :)
    Hope this helps,
    Craig...

  • Feature request Lock workstation (Win+L) when Lid is closed ~ power manager option

Under "Events" in Power Manager windows there are any options what should happen when you use this or that hotkey or when you close laptop lid.
But what it really misses is an option to just Lock the laptop - same pressing Win+L
Can you consider adding that option, when I close laptop lid to do just that?

I don't think that would ever be a feature of power manager since locking the screen is not a power management function, but check this out:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-77008
If your thinkpad has a camera you can configure it to lock automatically anytime there is no keyboard/mouse activity AND a face is not detected after xx seconds (including when screen is closed).  It works great and I use it on my T500.
I realize this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but I offer it as a way to lock your screen if you can't remember to press Win+L before closing lid.

  • Feature differences between 2.0 and 2.1

I need to know what the differences between Flash Lite 2.0
    and 2.1.

I know what you mean I think. You can communicate with other
apps on the device several ways:
    1. The Launch FS command & xml sockets
    2. Set up a local web server & dbase on the device. Then
make http calls to it (i.e.
    http://127.0.0.1 etc.)
    3. Build a C++, Java, etc. wrapper application that launches
FL. Then the C++ application communicates with device applications
and writes files locally for FL to read (see
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/articles/s60_swf_launcher.html).
What sort of things are you trying to do? Maybe that would
make it easier in terms of pointing you in the right
    direction.

  • Differences discovered for the same device in LMS 4.1

    Hi,
We have installed Cisco Prime 4.1 and we have discovered all the devices of our network. Although all devices appear as known both in Monitor and in Inventory, some of them are not being monitored correctly.
For example, in the Known_Device_List Report, I have a device named 'Switch1' with IP 'x.x.x.' but in the monitoring, it shown by the name 'Switch2' with the same IP 'x.x.x.x'.
It seems that the DFM database doesn't get correctly this device from DCR, but in the LMS 4.1 version there is no option to delete this device from the DFM. I already tried to rediscovery devices throught CLI by the dmctl -s DFM invoke ICF_TopologyManager::ICF-TopologyManager discoverAll command, but with no success.
What is this behaviour due? Any idea about how to fix it?
    Thanks in advanced.
    Best regards,
    Laura

Best way is to make sure name resolution is working so LMS can lookup the device's system-name and use the ip address it resolves to, as the management IP
Often there are inconsistencies, if an IP resolves to a name, and then the name resolve to another IP
Use resolver.pl in CSCOpx\bin to see how LMS resolves the devicename/ IP
If this is different from what you expect then you have an issue on your DNS.
Sometimes a local hosts file is easier to manage

  • Camelot's Reply: Paper Print Differences: Mac and Win Prints

Many thanks for your quick, correct and very helpful reply, Camelot. Points taken, and tweaking to begin in due course!
    Keno

There's nothing to be concerned with, here - at least as far a a printer fault is concerned.
The difference lies in the driver and the color matching algorithm used. There's an intrinsic difference between the image you see projected from a monitor (emitted light from a series of colored LEDs) and the 'same' image printed on paper (light reflected off different color dots on the paper). The image on screen will also vary depending on your screen brightness and contrast settings.
In addition, your monitor uses Red, Green and Blue LEDs wheras your printer probably uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black inks. It's the driver that's responsible for translating the RGB image you see on your monitor to the CMYK proportions for the ink.
There are also numerous variations between ambient light sources (the same page will look different in sunligh vs. incandescent vs flourescent light), as well as the paper its printed on.
To cut a long story short, there are a myriad of variables that go into translating the screen image to the printed page and what you're finding is differences in the default values for the Mac and Windows drivers. I won't try to suggest which one is 'better' since that's subjective... is the more saturated image closer to the original? or just brighter. What you will find, though, is there are options to tweak the settings in the driver to your own preferences - just look at the 'Color Matching' options in the Print dialog next time you print on your Mac (I'm sure Windows has some equivalent)

  • ASA X-series firewalls difference & multi context features

Does anyone have a quick guide to show the feature differences between the X and regular ASA series firewalls?
And does this still hold true WRT multi-context ASA in the X-series?
    No multi-context.....
    - If you need to provide VPN services such as remote access or site-to-site VPN tunnels.
    - If you need to use dynamic routing protocols. With multiple context mode, you can use only static routes.
    - If you need to use QoS.
    - If you need to support multicast routing.
    - If you need to provide Threat Detection.
    tia,
    Will

A few changes in the new ASA version 9.0 (supported on both ASA and ASA-X series):
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa90/release/notes/asarn90.html#wp586890
In multiple context mode, it does support the following:
    - Site to site VPN tunnels only.
    - Dynamic routing protocols: EIGRP and OSPFv2 only.
    - QoS is not supported.
    - Multicast routing is not supported.
    - Thread Detection is not supported
Here is the unsupported feature on multiple context as off Version 9.0:

  • Installing Win 7 via Bootcamp on 27' iMac 2010 gives BLACK screen, BLINKING cursor error (BSBCE)?

    Hi All,
All coments appreciated regarding thiis issue.
    I have a 2010 27' i7 2.93Ghz iMac with 8Gb ram, 2Tb Seagate, and 256 Samsung SSD.
I am running 10.6.8 with all updates on the 2Tb Seagate (has BC 3.04), and 10.7.1 on the Samsung (has BC 4.0).
I have tried over a dozen times to install Win 7 (both a 32 bit Professional edition and a 64 bit Ultimate edition) on BC partitions on both drives. These have been all on separate occasions of course.
All installs result in what appears to be a successful install, but when the machine reboots to launch Win 7 for the first time, I ALWAYS get a black screen with a blinking cursor error (BSBCE).
This is not the 2009 video card driver issue problem reported so widely and referred to in the Apple article TS3173. I had that model previously and the way around that was to connect a second monitor/LCD for the installation.
No this is a new and separate issue.
And I am no nubie. I have used IT for over 25 years and teach networking courses in the Win and Mac environments.
The problem appears to be in a corrupt boot loader install.
I have used both WIn 7 install disks to do a repair each time. The repair says it is successful but after rebooting all I get is the black screen and flashing cursor, with no keyboard response. I have used both Bluetooth keyboards and USB keyboards. Nothing seems to make a difference re getting WIn 7 to boot after the install on either drive.
I have also used the Bootrec commands in the command window. They all return a successful outcome but when rebooting I see the ever familar BSBCE.
Now,,,,,here is the real puzzle. I copied my previous Win 7 Ultimate install using Winclone before I sold my older 27' iMac.
If I restore that install to the 2010 iMac Win 7 boots fine!
So some error is happening on my current machine when the bootloader/bootmanager is being written to the BC partition.
The problem is there with the BC on both 10.6 and 10.7, and these are different versions of BC!
Now to further complicate the problem, I manage 12X 2011 21.5' iMacs in a lab at work. Win 7 Professional 32bit installed on these machines just as it should (same disks that produces the black screen flashing cursor).
I have read that some people thing it is a Boot Rom version issue, and there may be some substance to this as WIN 7 installs so easily on the 2011 iMacs in my lab.
I called Applecare about this and went through the procedures outlined above. The guy was very helpful and sympathetic but he had no answer to the problem. His suggestion was to pull the SSD out and do it again with only one drive. As the machine can ship from Apple with both of these drives I really do doubt that pulling the SSD would make a difference.
Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7 work fine, no problems on both drives, so I don't think it is a drive issue.
    OK Mac gurus...over to you.

I have a bookmark for iMac w/ SSD and hard drive.
There is also the 'req'd reading' in http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp
with one article on Black screen w/ iMac 2010.

  • Differences between Premiere Elements 11 and Pro CS6?

    Hello,
I would like to know the differences between Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 in relation to video editing. If someone can point me to any resource on the web like a comparision chart of features, differences etc that would be perfect. I understand the Premiere Pro CS6 would have a lot of extra bell and whistles, special effects etc... but what I would like to know if there is a difference in terms of the the quality of the Final Product?
Our needs for a video editor are very simple. We need to create simple titles and text overlay to show the name of the speaker and/or topic. A few times we the audio was not recorded on the video camcera but we do have the audio recorded for the event on a separate audio recorder in .WAV format. So we would like to sync up the video with this audio. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
And in cases where the audio was recorded with video, we would like to increase the gain/volume for the audio or clean up some hum or background noise. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
That is it, we do not need any special effects or animations etc... Please let me know if Adobe Premiere Elements 11 can help us meet our needs. If there is any other software that would be more suitable please advise.
    Thank you!
    VS

I cannot speak for CS6.  Here are thoughts from a new APE11 user's view:
    adobe30022 wrote:

APE11 provides simplicity and good functionality for this stated need.
we would like to sync up the video with this audio. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
If your video and audio contain a clap, you can manually sync by sliding the audio peak along the video.  The audio wave form will be blanked out when sliding, with a frame counter showing how many whole frames you have moved the audio at each moment, so it is a "drag, stop, compare, drag another frame or two, stop, compare" process that works.  (Finer adjustment than whole frames is not possible.)  Once the sync is achieved, select both audio and video track and link them. (The stability of the sync over time will depend on the accuracy of the recorder, and can pose a problem in long recordings. )
increase the gain/volume for the audio or clean up some hum or background noise. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
APE11 allows adjusting the volume levels and also provides level normalization if desired, but more involved audio cleanup such as hiss and hum removal, compression, or auto gain are not available.
Please let me know if Adobe Premiere Elements 11 can help us meet our needs. If there is any other software that would be more suitable please advise.
You should download the APE11 trial to judge for yourself how well it will meet all your needs.

  • Qosmio F30-140: How to make composite-in or video-in feature working

    Hi,
I was using windows XP MC version, but now I switched to windows 7 64-bit version and I don't know how to make the composite-in or the video-in feature work.
Does win-7 driver support this feature! or I need to use a certain software to make use of it?!
Another thing I'm missing in this new windows version is the Dolby effects equalizer.
Could any body tell me how to add this option to my sound card device or send me a driver that has this option.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
As far as I know there is not full Win 7 support for F30 Qosmio.
I found some Win 7 32bit drivers on the driver page but there are no 64bit drivers.
There are Vista 64bit drivers check it!
The Sigma sound driver has been released for Windows Vista 64 Bit. Try it!
The composite-in or video-in port can be used in order to receive video signals from some external devices. For example you can connect a Xbox to the F30 and can use it in connection with Windows Media Center.
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-media-center/default.aspx
You can also conenct an camcorder or similar devices.
