    Hi,
USB recovery disk was used to recover your system when it encounter problem. You can try to use it to fix your problem instead reinstall system. However, there is no method to keep your program whenreinstall system.

  • Speed of random key access

    hi,
we have a bdb with around 1 million entries in it. keys are small (~20 bytes), values are large (~2k). i was just wondering if there are any strategies for optimizing random key access. basically, we run operations where we end up with a collection of keys (say 20), which we then iterate through, retrieving each entry. is there any strategy for optimizing this? (e.g. sorting keys in the same order as the database.)
    thanks,
    -james

    Hi James,
Sorting keys certainly won't hurt, but unless there's a good chance of locality of some of the keys you'll still hit random spots on the disk. If keys are sorted in insertion order, then it's likely that there will be locality. Alternatively, if you can sort to insertion order (if insertion order != key order), that might work too. Again, it depends on the proximity of the keys in your 20-key set.
But a more fundamental question is whether you can just allocate a large enough cache to fit the entire database in memory. You can load the entire database using Database.preload(); If you can't increase the cache size, then you could try cleaning the log to a smaller size. This increases the likelihood of hits in the file system cache. But cleaning to a higher minUtilization is also expensive.

  • Reading a record by key access.

    Hi Gurus,
In 'read table' for reading a record by key access they have used 'comparing' , 'transporting' , 'assigning'.
Can you please explain me what exactly the above will happen with an clear example.
    Thanks,
    Prabu S.

    mostly you wont need these
    but still: from documentation:
    READ TABLE - transport_options
    Syntax
    ... [COMPARING { {comp1 comp2 ...}|{ALL FIELDS}|{NO FIELDS} }]
        [TRANSPORTING { {comp1 comp2 ...}|{ALL FIELDS} }] ... .
    Effect:
The addition COMPARING compares the specified components comp1 comp2 ... (or the subareas or attributes thereof) in a found
line before they are transported with the corresponding components of the work area. If ALL FIELDS is specified, all components
are compared. If no NO FIELDS is specified, no components are compared. If the content of the compared components is
identical, sy-subrc is set to 0. Otherwise it is set to 2. The found line is assigned to the work area independently of the result of
    the comparison.
If the addition TRANSPORTING is specified, only the specified components comp1 comp2 ... (and their subareas) in the found line
are assigned to the corresponding components of the work area (or their subareas). If ALL FIELDS is specified, all the
    components are assigned.
COMPARING must be specified before TRANSPORTING. The components comp1 comp2 ... are specified according to the rules in
the section Specifying Components. This is subject to the restriction that after TRANSPORTING, attributes of classes cannot be
addressed using the object component selector, and after COMPARING, this is only possible as of release 6.10.

    Hi,
There is no need to pay for developer key or object access key. You can get them from service market place under Keys & Request tab and SSCR. You need to have a valid S-User with proper authorization to generate the keys. Below is the link for the same where select the Keys & Request and under that SSCR Keys. Then from there you can generate Developer and object access keys.

  • No alt key access to top menus in full screen mode Ps CS5

I'm using photoshop CS5 on a Win7 machine, after using Ps CS3 for a fair amount of time.  When painting in Ps, I am almost always in full screen mode.  In CS3, you could be in full screen mode and hit the alt key plus the active letter of a top bar menu, like F for File or T for Filter or W for Window, and that menu would appear, and you could hit subsequent active letters to get the associated function.  I used alt+I then E then H to flip the canvas horizontally.  Super quick and awesome!  Now the E has been changed to a G, but no matter.  The big deal is that in full screen mode, this no longer works!  I just get an error sound when I hit the alt and I button together. I have to hit Tab to bring up the menus and palettes before I can use the alt + top menu letter functionality.
please answer me its urgent thank u

What you describe is just the way it works.  You need to use Full Screen with Menus mode if you want to access the menu functionality.

  • Controlling Specific Posting Key Access by Security Roles

I am currently implementing Z-Option GLSU which is an excel based general ledger posting tool.  The way it operates is that it runs FB01 and FBV1 as an SM35 batch job but basically allows a user to post to SAP without having to directly go into the SAP client.
There are security concerns now because users can change the posting keys to allow postings to areas other than the general ledger (vendor, customer, etc) though it may not have been intended for that user's security profile.  Can someone tell me if the user's security authorization will automatically prevent them from posting to a vendor for example (if they don't have FB60 access) or if that is not possible if there is some user exit that can specifically restrict access for those t-codes to posting keys 40 and 50?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    FYI...
We were able to resolve this dilemma.  Here is how....
We created two types of access:  application and content.  We applied the "user type" access to the application, web intelligence, in the CMC.  Then, applied the Content security to the folders.
    Thanks

  • No alt key access to top menus in full screen mode Ps CS5 Ext?

I'm using the trial version of CS5 on a Win7 machine, after using Ps CS3 for a fair amount of time.
Is this an oversight, or is there functionality to disabling this hotkey use when in full screen mode?
Any ideas?  Should I put this in the feature request forum?
    Thanks!
    db

    Hmmmm....
When NOT in full screen mode, people on this forum sometimes complain that the Alt modifier key is activating the menus and causing subsequent operations for which they're using Alt (e.g., zoom out) to irritatingly trigger the Windows "ding" sound.
Notably when IN full screen mode that's not happening with CS5 because the Alt key simply doesn't activate the menus.
    Interesting thought...
Perhaps Adobe made it work this way on purpose so that they could tell people complaining about the first issue to run Photoshop in Full Screen mode.  That's just a guess.
As a workaround to your issue, you could of course expand the Photoshop window to be very close to the full size of the screen and just keep running it as a Window, rather than using full screen mode at all.  Yes, I realize this isn't a fix, but just a possible workaround until such time (if ever) Adobe gets around to fixing the modifier keys to work properly (again).  I have chosen to use Photoshop this way myself, and other than wasting a bit of screen space it seems to be a pretty decent workaround to using F mode.
Funny thing is it seemed Adobe had the modifier keys working pretty much properly in Photoshop CS4.  I wonder why they changed it.

  • Lost Function key access to hardware features.

    Hello,
I recently upgraded to Vista SP1 and I just noticed that i lost the ability to use my F keys to change volume level and screen / keyboard brightness in Vista.
I have also noticed that the application in the system notification area that controls this does not appear to be running.
Does anyone know what is the name of the application and where it is located on the HD?
I have been trying to drill through my HD to find it but I have not been able to locate the program that controls these features in Windows.
    Kind Regards,

I have resolved my own problem:
Sorry for the post, but it may help others that loose this functionality.
The file you need to move to the startup folder is located in the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Boot Camp\KbdMgr.exe
Once I created a shortcut for this in my windows startup folder, everything returned back to normal.
    Hope this helps someone!

  • Does Berkeley DB Support Foreign key access?

    BDB Java Editon supports.
But in BDB I cant find similar APIs.

    Hi Liu,
The Java Collections API in Berkeley DB does not offer the foreign key functionality as the Java Collections API in Berkeley DB Java Edition. You'll have to maintain the integrity constraint imposed by a foreign key yourself through the application code.

now I need to the same developer key which I used in Sandbox and could not find it in my e-mails. I haven't noted it down anytwhere.
Please let me know if there is a place I can go and check for the access key.

    Hi Rahul,
    Max is right.
You can go the table DEVACCESS.
In that an entry against your user id and the developer key will be maintained.
You can pick it from there.

  • Locking "Fn" key to enable easy access up bright/dim screen and commonly used functions

I accidentally posted the below message in the x201 tablet forum.  Moderators, please delete it.
I just purchased my first  x201 Lenovo last night so I don't have the laptop yet.  However, I was hoping someone could help me with this issue so I can address it once the laptop arrives.
I currently own an HP laptop (DM series) and one of the things I love about it is that the "Fn" key is essentially reversed.  So you have to press the Fn key to activate the standard "F1", "F2" etc keys.  This is a great feature because I rarely used the F keys but ALWAYS use the bright/dim, sleep, lock and volume features.  Apple also adopts this and requires that an Fn button is depressed in order to access the F1, F2, etc keys.
I understand that the x201 has their own separate volume buttons (which is nice), but the other functions including lock and bright display and dim display keys require that the "Fn" key be depressed.  Since the bright display and dim display keys are on the far right of the keyboard and the Fn key is on the far left, it requires that I use BOTH hands to activate them (my hands/fingers are not big enough to span the entire keyboard).  This makes it even more of a chore to do something I do constantly .  When I work in the evening, I find that I am always adjusting the brightness of my display and I often lie in bed to read.  I will literally have to sit up just to do something as simple as dim or brighten my display.
Basically, I would like to know how to either 1) lock the Fn key so that the functionality of things like brighten and dimming the display and locking the computer can be done with the press of one key (per function) or 2) map a few less commonly or never used keys to control brighten and dimming of the display, in addition to locking the computer.  One example of buttons I won't be using are those associated with the Trackpoint... as I probably won't be using those.
Ideally, locking the Fn key (or reversing the function so it acts like as a "Shift" key when caps lock is activated) would be perfect so I have one key access to locking the comp, dim/bright display and turning the Thinklight on/off.
It would also be great to have one key turn on or off the monitor (this may already exist but I don't know as I don't have the laptop in my hands yet).
I apologize if I'm sounding a bit neurotic... I just use those keys so often that having to depress another key (on the opposite side of the keyboard) to do the same thing just seems so regressive.  I'd be willing to buy 3rd party software if it can do what I want it to do.
    Any help is appreciated.

Don't know if possible in x201, but on x100 the CTRL and FN can be logically swapped via bios (they can also phisically swapped) , FN can be locked via another bios setting : is still not very handy to tweak the dimming and volume, but better than nothing.
