Key commands not showing up in KC window

Today I decided to attempt to get to the bottom of this problem. Since installing 7.1 my key commands are next to useless in terms of having the assigned commands show up in the key command window. Some of the commands show up when the relevent key is pressed but many don't. For instance, I have the letter "R" assigned to "repeat objects", when I press the "R" key nothing shows up in the KC window. If I reassign "repeat objects" to the "Q" key then when I press the "Q" key nothing shows up. Conversely if I assign the "R" key to "destructive quantise" then it does show up. IOW, if I assign any key to "repeat objects" the assigned key never shows up as highlighted in the KC window. This same behaviour shows up for many keys.
I installed on a fresh partition: 10,4,2, Logic7.1, Pro runtime app and find the exact same results. I've tried switching keyboard layouts from UK to American to German - no change.
Can anyone confirm that "repeat objects" shows up as highlighted when the relevent key is pressed in the KC wondow?
Cheers.

Hi RajShekhar,
This KF that you have added as an attribute to a char will not be available in the Key Figure section. Open the dimensions and find the char for which you created this attribute. Open up the attributes under it and you should find the KF. If you need to use this KF value in a calculation, then you will need to create a formula variable to pull in its value.
Hope this helps...

  • Whats the key command to show which HD to boot from?

Just installed Leopard but I didnt have my external firewire HD's disconnected and now I'm getting that awesome blue screen. I installed Leopard to a 2nd HD in my case.. so.. what is that key command to show what HD to boot from when the machine boots up?

So.. Uh... I see that Apple is saying that these blue screen problems are when there is "incompatible software" on the computer.. Uh. I'm installing this to a 2nd HD as a full install. How can software from the other HD cause problems?

  • Video will not show in the preview window

I am using iMovie 08 and have some video that I pulled into iMovie using my iSight. Whenever I am trying to preview my movie it will not show in the preview window. I did a software update for iMovie and the issue is still happening. Any ideas??

Although the same not preview-able iMovie event played perfectly fine when transferred to a different mac running perian and divx, disabling Perian solved the issue on my macbook, too!
    Thanks for the tip!
I still wonder why some clips preview and some don't (with perian running)...

  • Key commands not working

I found an old post about this, but it didn't seem to have a solution to the problem.
Some key commands I assign simply don't work. They even show up in the menus, but don't do anything (one example, I tried assigning shift-m for Create Marker without Rounding).
Also, when the key command window is open, typing some key commands jumps to the assigned command, but with others it doesn't (I can see one of the menus at the top flash, as if it's trying to actually do the command). One example of this is command-m which is assigned to open movie. (oddly, getting rid of open movie and changing command M to create marker without rounding worked, although it still didn't jump to it in the list)
If the function to show used key commands isn't working, how am I supposed to know what's free for additional key commands?
I'm using the standard US keyboard, standard key commands in tiger (which don't seem to overlap any of the ones I'm tweaking).
Any ideas on this? It's very frustrating and a big waste of time.

It's also a pain that the key command window shows codes for the keys instead of what the keys actually are. <<</div>
Actually, there are 2 methods for simultaneously assigning/viewing the assignment; one shows you alphanumeric charaters and one shows the key codes. But it is true that some key assignments won't work unless they're assigned as key codes.
I agree -- it's time to either revamp this window (with all of the features you mentioned) or offer an explanation as to how it actually works so that people like us aren't left pulling our hair our because this window's functions don't always seems to work properly. Something like:
"Hi, this is the Apple/Logic guys. We realize that some users find the Key Commands window to be problematic. Well..."
and then it could go on in some of the following ways...
    a) there are a few things that don't work properly, such as X/Y/Z... We're hoping to fix the problem in the next release of Logic..."
    or
    b) if you're trying to assign (whatever) to (a function) and it doesn't work, try this instead...
    or
    c) if you're trying to assign (whatever) to (a function) and it doesn't work, please know there's an issue with this particular aspect of the Key Commands window that will be fixed in a future release...
That's the kind of thing I think we'd all love to see.
Maybe that's enough venting for now. Wouldn't want to attract the attention of the "venting police" LOL

  • AD contains system Recovery Key, but not showing in MBAM.

I am in an environment with MBAM 1.0 installed. I built the MDT 2013 system here and am currently trying to figure out why the bitlocker keys are showing up in AD but not MBAM.
In MDT, I have disabled the "enable bitlocker" options so there shouldn't be a case where that the TPM ownership is wrong (I think). I do however set the
bios password with CCTK, then apply the default bios configuration with an ini via cctk. The bios sets and activates tpm just before the hard disk is formatted by LTI.
q1. Could setting the TPM without restarting cause the TPM ownership to be set to the PE in some weird way.
q1.1. would I clear the tpm if this is the issue?
So MBAM client is installed on the reference image and captured by MDT. The WIM is then deployed to a system using a standard TS with the bitlocker disabled like
I mentioned above. I do not make any changes to reg for mbam in the reference image. For testing, I tried adding the mbam recovery key location url to the reference image reg. I still need to test that but a few other tests I did makes me believe this
    is not the case.
MDT binds the system to a default OU in the domain. After the system is configured, I start Bitlocker. (Sometimes I start bitlocker when the system is in the default
OU, sometimes I start it after I move them into the right ou for the role). I am almost positive the default OU has the mbam settings (I do not have access to this gpo), since the manage-bde -status comes back AES 128 with diffuser (as compared to regular
    aes 128).
After bitlocker finishes, the key is found in AD but not mbam.
I think the major questions I have are:
How can I force MBAM to take ownership of the TPM after the os is bitlockered? (about 100/700 machines are not reporting to mbam but are to bitlocker because of this new deployment system)
If I turn TPM on and activate while I was in the PE, would that mean the PE has the TPM ownership? (or bitlocker in this case, since mbam is not installed on the PE)
    - Could I install MBAM on the PE and use that to manage the tpm? (MDT 2013) (I have seen some documents that cover this but it largely comes from wanting a pre-provisioned bitlocker.)
** I think the most manual way of correcting the issue I am having, is to either clear the tpm and rebitlocker, or
.. when a system is about to image, turn tpm on but leave it deactivated. (If I leave the tpm deactivated, every system will need to be manually rebooted and f10 will need to be pressed to continue the bitlocker process. this includeds
    a user login too)

Keep the MBAM out of the .wim! Install it in task sequence.
MBAM Client has its own log files in event viewer, there you perhaps find the reason why recovery key is not stored in DP. But fix your image first, keep it thin.

  • My ipod will charge but does not show in itunes or windows

I tried to use my ipod as a disk to transfer my itunes library from my desktop to my notebook (both Dell), now my ipod charges, but does not show up in itunes or on either of my computers. I have used the advice of going to control panel and unchecking the box under power management but that didn't work, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PLLLEEEEAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEE HELP ME?
I have windows xp on one and vista on the other, if that helps.

This worked for me, don't know if it will for you. Have ITunes open. While IPod is connected to computer press(at the same time) the menu and center buttons until your screen goes black and shows the apple icon then immediately press the forward button. Your IPod should show up. It won't hurt to try it, even if it doesn't work. Hope this is of some help to you.

  • IPod Classic not showing in iTunes or Windows

I received a new iPod 80GB Classic for Christmas today, but I'm having trouble getting it to work with iTunes. I've plugged it into the USB port, but all that happens is that it starts charging but doesn't show in My Computer or iTunes.
Before I got this new iPod I was using a 2GB iPod Nano, could it be because I was syncing a particular iPod with iTunes before I got this new iPod? Or do I have to do something like charge the iPod completely before connecting it to the USB port?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • TS1363 1st generation iPod shuffle does not show up in iTunes (windows 7)?

1st generation iPod shuffle does not show up in iTunes on my Windows 7 PC (but shows up in my computer).  Tried all the Apple trouble-shooting steps (some several times).  It used to work with Windows 7 on this PC.  Are there other steps I can try?

I'm not sure what "all" means, unless you state them, so if you have not done so already, you should use this procedure to reset the iPod shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
Then, shut down your computer (power off) and start it up, with iPod shuffle NOT connected.  Run iTunes.  Then, try connecting the iPod shuffle again.
Since this is a first gen iPod shuffle that IS recognized by the computer (so it's probably not a bad USB connector), you can also try using the iPod Reset Utility
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1238
This is for the first and second gen iPod shuffle only, and does a lower level reset than using a normal Restore in iTunes.

  • Have Windows OEM Product Key -but key is not accepted when Installing New Windows 8.1 Disk

I was able to secure the Product Key for what I thought was a Windows 8.1 OS on my Toshiba notebook.  I believe my notebook ORIGINALLY had an OEM version of 8.0 (was pre-loaded when I bought the notebook) but at some point I updated the OS to 8.1.  I
was able to verify that I was currently using 8.1 via the Bios set-up utility.  After securing the product key, I contacted Microsoft and they agreed to send me 32 and 64 bit versions of Window 8.1 free of charge (so as long as I covered the shipping.)
When I went to install the  8.1 disk, I received a message stating that the product key didn't work.  I can't help but wonder IF perhaps because my PC originally came with 8.0 that it's product key won't work with 8.1?  When Microsoft asked
WHICH version I had on my PC, I had advised that I was using 8.1. They never asked what was the ORIGINAL OS?
    Any ideas?

thanks for replies.  I suppose it would be helpful for me to explain why I needed the product key and the new Microsoft Windows 8.1 discs in the first place.  This was never a matter of merely trying to activate the OS.  Last week- my
notebook went in to standby mode- a very normal process when I would step away from the notebook for a decent amount of time.  When I tried touched the power button to release it from stand by, I received a message that the OS was not able to start up
due to TWO (very specific) files that were either missing or had been corrupted.  The message recommended re-installing the OS in order to re-insalll or otherwise correct the file errors.  I spent a good 3-4 hours researching this on a number of
Microsoft/ IT sites, and it appeared this was a very common error -stemming from "boot disk error" -or "errors with hard drive/ partitions".  I then began my trek to a) locate the product key (of which I was able to secure from the BIOS) and b) have Microsoft
send me the Windows 8.1 discs.  Hope this helps and thanks again.
