Key Controls on iTunes Different After Getting Windows 7?
Hello! I just got a new laptop yesterday and it has Windows 7 on it. This is my first time using Windows 7 so I'm still getting used to it, and I have already run into a few problems with iTunes since I need a 64 bit version for it to run properly on my laptop. I overcame these problems and now I am back to using iTunes as I did using my old Windows XP OS. The only thing that really bothers me is that when I try to use my arrow keys to try and play a song from the beginning in "Repeat Item" mode it will not do anything except make the song pause for a second then continue playing from the current position. I have another problem when using my enter key or just clicking on a song, instead of it starting from the beginning it starts from the last place it left off when I started listening to a different song. I know these problems are small and trivial, but after a while it has really gotten on my nerves when trying to edit songs. Any type of help would be useful, thanks!
And also, I can't switch videos into a different type using this iTunes, like making a video on my music playlist into a TV Show and having it show up in that playlist. I never had to do this with my other computer but I do now because I had to transfer all of my media onto this new laptop from my iPOD itself, so this may just be a feature they removed as they made newer versions of iTunes, but it's just another annoyance I noticed while trying to do it.

You won't see anything in the Application Support --> Bootcamp folder unless you have previously downloaded the Windows Support Software. Good find.
ADDENDUM STEP:
This step should be placed between 9-10.
Open Bootcamp Assistant. Uncheck everything BUT, "DOWNLOAD THE LATEST WINDOWS SUPPORT SOFTWARE FROM APPLE". You will be prompted to burn the image to a CD/DVD or save to a USB Key. Save the image to a USB key. This will format your USB key properly in preparation for the files. The download commences and if you're lucky, the files will simply be saved to your USB key without having to manually copy them over to the key using the steps above.
IMPORTANT - Even if the support software hangs when its being saved to the USB key, you should now be able to navigate to the directory and see the image. Follow the steps above.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

Are you saving the installer first and then installing, or are you running the installer directly from Apple's website? Also save first.
If you're saving first and still having issues, try and use Microsoft's Cleanup Utility and then reinstall Quicktime/iTunes:

Make sure it's a new and fresh download from:

If not mentioned in the articles, make a new user account in Windows and see if iTunes opens. That will tell you if there's something funky in your main account (if the new user works), or if you have a system-wide issue. -

Hi there. I'm working on a script that posts iTunes track names to Campfire based on the AirPlay device in use. I'm positive there's a better way to check if AirTunes is the active device (maybe by seeing if the current playlist is a device playlist, and checking the source name?), but I don't have any way to test that. -
After iPhone3G, v2.1 & iTunes 8.0 - get windows bluescreen w/ usbaapl.sys
On Thursday I downloaded and installed iTunes v8.0. all was working fine after that. On Friday, I installed the new 2.1 version for the iPhone as well as the latest for MobileMe. All appeared to be working fine.
About 4 hours later, I docked my iPhone again and got a bluescreen crash. Here's some of the info.

I removed iTunes 8.0 & Apple Mobile Services (usbaapl.sys). I rebooted my machine - then installed iTunes 7.7.1. When I tried to open iTunes, it said that my library was unavailable as it had been created for a newer version. OK - that makes sense, but......when I docked my iPhone - the good ole USB - duh-dunk sound happened and no crash.
I installed 8.0 on top of it, rebooted - and once I redocked the iPhone - CRASH. This time - no bluescreen - just a black screen and a reboot. -

I was having problems installing itunes/quicktime 7.6. Everytime I tried to install it it would say that it does not have a valid digital signiture. So one of the suggestions I saw on this forum was to install windows install cleanup and use it on itunes and quicktime. So I did but all it did is mess up my old itunes/quicktime. Now when I go to try and uninstall itunes and quicktime from the add and remove programs in the control pannel it does not even show itunes or quicktime in my program list. Any suggestions??
Ok, Update. I was able to remove itunes and quicktime manually after going into my windows task manager and to the processes tab and ended all processes involving itunes, apple, or quicktime. So now when I install itunes/quicktimes via apples site when it gets to the end it just disapears and nothing happens. I searched to see if it installed anything and it didn't, didn't even give me any reasons why. Can anyone help me with this?? It would help me a ton!

Itunes problems after last Windows update was installed.
After an update to Windows XP a couple days ago, everytime I turn on iTunes, thing go bad. A blank internet explorer window came up several times and essentially froze, and any attempt to close it met with a window that the program wasn't responding. I was unable to close it, and was unable to use Ctr-Alt-Del, and was unable to shut down the computer. The only solution was to do an emergency shutdown with the power button, and then eventually everything came back although very slowly. The same thing happened again if iTunes was turned on.
It seems like itunes and IE are now incompatible so I suspect that that update added some security measure which interferes with the itunes and its internet connection.
Anyone have a simple solution? I could try a restore but I may not be able to get back far enough?I uninstalled KB 2446708 (Security Update for .NET Framework 4) ... took forever to uninstall, like 20 minutes.... And now Firefox starts up normally!
By the way, my Firefox is version 3.6.17, running on Windows Vista 64bit. I try to avoid all the new updates like IE9. Perhaps I should try avoiding .NET Framework 4 as well. -

Swipe for Notification Center and Control Center not working after using Window Zoom
I'm using iOS 8.0.2 on an iPhone 6 and have noticed that after using the Window Zoom (Accessibility feature 3-finger double-tap), I cannot swipe down for Notification Center nor swipe up for Control Center when unlocked (i.e. in Home screen or within an app screen). However, when the iPhone is locked, the swipe down for Notification Center and swipe up for Control Center is okay. It just doesn't work when unlocked. And the only way to rectify the problem is to reboot the phone.
Has anyone else experienced this?I have figured out the solution to all of our problems!!! We can keep the zoom function ON!!!! Yay!

step two. Tap screen with 3 fingers.
step three. Select window zoom. (If already selected move on to step Quatro)
step qautro. Select Resize lens.
and for the moment you've all be waiting for... Drum roll..
the grand finale step. IS...
shrink the window to the smallest size.
AFter you have done these 5 steps, you can thoroughly enjoy having all three functions at once. If you switch back to Full Screen Zoom (if that be your preference) the notification and control centers will remain functional! Bon apetit!
i have been successful enlarging the window while keeping the centers functioning by making sure the window is in the shape of a square.

3 keys still won't work after getting wet
I still have 3 keys that do not work the caps lock, left apple key, and tab. When you purchase a new keyboard it is just the key caps correct? Or would a new keyboard fix my problem.

Accessing SD version of iTunes movie after getting HD
When you get HD version of movie on iTunes, can you access SD version?
I entered the Digital HD version code of the movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy" from the BluRay version.
I'm on a Dell with an Acer monitor. When I go to play it, i get an error message stating that this system can't handle the HD version.
Ctrl+ opens preferences, I select SD, but, I still get the HD message. Can't find answer anywhere.

When you download a movie from iTunes, and it states that it cannot play the HD version, there should be a button right there: [play SD] I have seen it many times.
If you ONLY want to have SD on that particular computer, go into the iTunes Preferences and change it there: -

Can't connect to iTunes store after getting dumped mid-download
So iTunes crashed while I was in the middle of downloading an album. Now I can't connect to the store to check for purchases and finish the download. I've tried everything I've found in the discussion forums and am using the most current version of iTunes, rebooted, restarted my DSL and wireless routers, flushed DNS, yadda yadda. What gives?

Well, I'm posting this, so I think the active connection stuff is crap. I can't connect to the store through the regular website either. Bah!

Completely uninstall iTunes 10.5 by following http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
Find my backup iTunes Library File (*.itl) from the previous version, and copy it to "iTunes Library.itl"

Reinstall with the previous software, iTunes 10.4.1
The fact that the old 10.4.1 software works correctly in accessing the iTunes Store, and the new 10.5 software does not work correctly, suggests to me that there is some kind of bug in the iTunes 10.5 application itself. Hopefully the developers can figure it out. In the meantime, I'm happily working again on the previous version and will be planning to stay there until this mess has been cleared up. -
