Key Field Value for File Adapter Sender Wildcard

Hello everybody, is there a way to use a wildcard for the property of NamA.keyFieldValue in the cc for a Fils Sender????, here's an example why, I need to take some Files via PI 7.0 and my key filed can change according to the file an example is that in a file can be HF28 and in another file can be HF29, the only character that is going to be constant is the H, I would really appreciate any suggestions, thanks in advance.

File sender adapter will read the file using FCC
Key Field Value entry is mandatory if the key field name is set. Otherwise, the entry can be ignored

Hi all,
I am working on scenario File to Idoc.In this scenario at the sender side we configure the file content conversion for .CSV file.
In the flat file i am having more than one orders, XI will pick the file and creates a separate Idoc for each sales order at r/3.
We have similar fields "Order Item Number" both header and item.
If we got '00000' on the Header item then it should create a new idoc at the r/3 side other wise it will create line item.
Order item number will be 00000 for header but it will differ from order item to item.

I don't have standard filed values to give the key fileds at source structure.
I need to create the Idoc at r/3 system for each individual record.
Is it possible to create new idoc with out using the Key filed value?
If it is possible then how can i proceed with fcc?

Hi,
Just check the Content Conversion Parameters- Recordset Structure.
If you have filled in this parameter with
Header,1,Item,1
then change it to
Header,1,Item,3

Is a record ID field required for File Adapter (Header, Body, Trailer)?

Hi,
File to File scenario. The sender file is a text file i.e. .txt which needs a conversion on the sender file adapter. There are three structures in the file namely header (one), body (many) and Trailer (one). From what I can see I need a record Id field (with the same name) in all the structure types, can anyone confirm this for me?

That is correct. If you have a variable number of records of a particular type, then you need a way to accurately identify each type of record... and that is done via the key field (or Record ID) which is present in each record type.
Extract from SAP Online Help:
Key Field Name
If you specified a variable number of substructures for Recordset Structure, in other words, at least one substructure has the value *, then the substructures must be identified by the parser from their content. A key field must be set with different constants for the substructures. In this case, you must specify a key field, and the field name must occur in all substructures.
Specify the Key Field Type to be used to compare the predefined values. This entry is used if the key field name is defined.
NameA.keyFieldValue: Specify the value of the key field for the structure. This entry is mandatory if the key field name is set. Otherwise, the entry is ignored.

Field Seperators for File Adapter Missing , If Data in field is Initial

Hi All ,
I am working on Idoc to File Adapter Scenerio , The Issue is if one of the field is Initial , then the seperator(|) does not appear .
eg: if I have f1,f2, f3, f4 ... f10 columns
 v1,v2.......v10 are the values , If v3, v4 values are initial , the file has only 8 fields and number of field seperators are 7 and not 9 .
In the content conversion parameters , i had specified the
Row.fieldSeparator |
Row.endSeparator 'nl'
Row.fieldNames f1d1|fld2|....|Fld10

HI Chan,
Because if there is no value in the idoc fields , it will not generate XML tags for that. So you will get only 8 xml tags in your input xml.. Check this from SXMB_MONI->Input xml(Idoc xml).
For this you can make use of Exists node function in the mapping, with If-else functions. So if it exists map directly else map with constant value. So that you will get all the xml tags, so that all the fields..

Cannot process a Fixed Field Length file using the File Adapter (Sender)

Hi -
I have checked throughout these posts and blogs but I still have not been able to find a solution to my issue. When using the File Adapter (Sender) I get a Conversion initialization failed with "xml.keyfieldName", no value found. Why would I require a key field when I am using fixed field lenghts? The file is comprised of 2 structures - 1 header and multiple details (see below). There are no key fields in the flat file that I would be able to use. Any suggestions?

you can use the module from which u can convert your structure to

Please note the extra H,D in the struture added by the module.
You can then use them as your key fieldValues.. The module should be deployed in Visual Admin and then can be used in the Module tab of your adapter CC
While writing the content conversion after that please dont forget about the added new characters
Please note also that i can find that the word supplier kept repeating in all the Dtachkp records

Also if you feel that the field is of 13 characters and that would cause a problem dont worry... create a dummy field eg split tht 13 to two fields and use the common one as key field Value and identifier... as i see in ure case its like 500 Supplier , 502 Supplier . u can split the first 4 char and the remaing 9 char are key field value.

File Content Conversion - Key Field Value

Hi Experts,
I am using File to Idoc scenario for my mapping. In the receiver Communication channel, I am using File Content Conversion. My scenario is as follows :
I have a recordset with Header and Line items with Key Field Indicator as 'H' and 'L'. In some cases, the value for this Key Field is coming in as something other than 'H' and 'L'. I need to throw an exception when this Key Field is not 'H' or 'L'.
In the 'Content Conversion' tab, my attributes are as:
Header_Structure.keyFieldValue = 'H' and Line_Structure.keyFieldValue = 'L'. Is there any more attributes that I need to add ?

How to convert flat file to XMl without key field value

Hi experts,
I have a input CSV Flat file which has got one HEADER line and Multiple Detail records.
I do not have any key field value to convert this FLAT file to XML using normal file content conversion.
Is there any module or Bean which can be used to convert this Flat File to XML.
Or any other remedy to overcome this problrm.

I am not using the first line in the mappiing.
Are you saying that I need to ignore the first line while doing the conversion using Recordset OFFSET ?
Or do I need to make a single structure taking all the fields from header as well as details and while defining the structure I need to ignore the fields from header?
Please suggest.

For the file name in the sender file adapter you can use the '*' or '?'(as a placeholder for exactly one character)
You can also enable the "Advanced Selection for Source File" in the sender file adapter, where you can do two things:
a)you can specify an exclusion mask for the file name specified above.
b)you can specify/lits multiple directories with a file name and an associated exclusion mask, e.g. in file name you put ".txt" and in the associated exclusion mask "a". The every file with ".txt" except "a" will be fetched from that directory.
Try it out.

Key Field Value in FCC

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario in PI, where I have 1 Header, n Data Records and 1 Trailer in the source file. This data is coming in CSV format.
I am using FCC to convert CSV into XML.
In the FCC, I have used keyFieldValue parameter. For the Header Record, the Key Field Value is constant "H"; for Trailer Record the key field value is constant "T".
However for Data Record, the key field value is not constant. The first character of Key field of Data Record will always be "D", but rest of the Alphabets can change.
Sample File:
"H","3.04",22/10/2009,16:31:12
"D2S",21/10/2009,20:00:26,"20044",00666,"S",1
"D2S",22/10/2009,14:26:20,"20044",00668,"S",1
"D0S",22/10/2009,08:33:34,"00044",04165,"S",1
"D0S",22/10/2009,11:59:59,"00044",04166,"S",1
"T",1393.27,1393.27,8
Here, first line is Header Line (Key Field Value "H"), Last Line is Trailer Line (Key Field Value "T") and all lines in between Header and Trailer are Data Records (Key Field Value starts with "D). I need to convert this file into XML.
I have no clue, if this can be converted into XML through FCC.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Write a simple module. The module will do a replace of the Dxx fields to D (you can use simple regex function for this)
After the module, use the messagetransformbean to do the FCC for you.
The module might sound complex, but trust me its a simple logic you need to implement and you can easily do the FCC with the messagetransformbean

Content Conversion without key field value

I dont have any key field value in the header nor in the detail. Can this be achived using FCC or should i go for Java.

but do you have those passwords in the message payload?
if not then you will still have to fill it somewhere right?
BTW
the only way would be to use java proxies and write a simple ftp adapter inside it (or your own adapter)
but this is not possible in standard I believe

Time stamp is not getting updated for File Adapter in communication channel

Since yesterday, I am observing that the time stamp of communication channel for File adapter is not gettingupdated some times.
I had to stop and start the communication channel to update the time stamp.Please let me know if anyone has come across such issue or any useful notes on this.I could not find any related notes on Market place.

This is happening only with one communication channel which is sender in derection.Any reason why it is happening like this?since the restart of the communication channel it is getting update now.I really do not know how to delete/create the communication channels as this was done our PI consultants.Pls guide me.

What do you mean by 'protecting' your non-key field value?
1) You want to display it, but make it non-changeable
A - Make the field as output-only in screen, as already answered by a preivous collegue
2) You do not want to display this field at all
A - Goto the DDIC definition of the view (not possible for a table directly), and maintain the required field as a Hidden. After activating, remember to re-generate the maintenance dialogue. Also, please maintain Event 21, in case you want to access/change the value of this field in background.
3) You want to maintain special validations/checks for the field
This can be easily done by introducing your modules within the CHAIN-FIELD commands in the PAI of the generated screens.

Request/Response Bean for IDOC_AAE adapter
Instead of IDOC_AAE adapter you can use FILE adapter.
